O2wifi can't connect / stuck in a login loop
Does anyone else have trouble signing in to O2wifi. I just get stuck in an endless loop ?
It recognises me "Hi Luke, welcome back", says press here to continue, does the grey circles, and then returns to the start.
I'm using a HTC M8one, running android 5.0.1. I've got the O2wifi app installed and registered. I've failled to log-in everywhere from McDonald's, to Costa, even at the O2 shop!

Hi @lukew151 Have you tried removing the connection (making your phone forget) to the O2 wifi and searching again?Unfortunately if it's one of the modern devices you cant . O2 wifi will be a permanent connection as i myself just found out...It's hard wired if you have o2 firmware on your phone.

Stuck in auto login loop OS 10.7.5
I have a mac mini OS 10.7.5 that is set for auto login and is in a login loop. (On start- up is cycles from gray screen to the desktop for less than a second than back to the gray screen and repeats).
Any help on getting this fixed will be appreciated. Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
I can't connect to Hotmail's login window (I can connect to other websites).
The message I get is as follows: The connection has timed out The server at login.live.com is taking too long to respond. The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
Adding Open DNS codes to your Network Preferences, should give good results in terms of speed-up as well as added security, (including anti-phishing and redirects) (Full information about Open DNS is here: http://www.opendns.com/home/nobloat ) and further independent information can be read here:
http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57338784-263/free-dnscrypt-tool-enhances-ma c-web-security/?tag=mncol;txt
and here:
http://www.macworld.com/article/1146064/troubleshootdns.html?t=234
Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
(You can also enter them if you click on Advanced and then DNS)
Sometimes reversing the order of the DNS numbers can be beneficial in cases where there is a long delay before web pages start to load, and then suddenly load at normal speed:

Tried to install iLife '11, now I'm stuck in a login loop
First my MacBook froze up upon installation complete. So I restarted and now my login screen is stuck in a loop (I login, I see the blue screen, it goes back to the login screen).
PLEASE HELP!Boot into Safe Mode and try launching iPhoto there. If you're able to launch and operate, close, boot back into the normal mode and try again.

My mbp is stuck in a login loop, I have tried re installing the os, emptied the pram
I have recently been transfering the contents of a corrupt profile manually in to a fresh install (done at the apple store)
All was well, everything transferred across ok. several re boots along the way.
The last thing I did was transfer the keychain across, add it to the current one & then drag the contents across to the new one.
During this session I also down loaded & installed an update.
when I restarted the machine it is now booting to the login screen, you can enter the password, the screen goes light grey, then back to the login page. this happens repeatedly. I have tried other passwords & get the usual rejection.
I have tried a number of things mentioned on different forums, re installed OSX over the top, disk repair, reset PRAM.
I have also tried restoring the copy of the keychain I made before messing with it via target mode.
Nothing has made any difference.
I suspected it was the keychain at fault, but I now think it was the update that caused the problem. (I have read a number of posts on various forums people asking the same basic question nearly all had just done an update.
Thanks for any help.
nikb 72Thanks for your help.
I have no peripherals attached, & since posting have already tried booting in safe mode.
There was no change to the problem.
I have also tried resetting Launch services.
I have this crash report (there are others the same from everytime I tried logging in);
I also noticed (maybe since resetting Launch service??) that the bar across the top now shows the apple with a drop down and has an option of log out (amongst other things) which seems to confirm the small amount I understand of the crash report, that the login process is crashing part way through.

Vlingo stuck in Facebook login loop
Hello,
I've used Vlingo in the past for updating my Facebook status, but now when I want to do a status update Vlingo says:
"In order to update your facebook status you must first log into your Facebook account. You only need to do this the first time you use Vlingo to update your facebook status."
...and it provides a Login link. I select the link, enter my data and get the expected Facebook "Allow/Don't Allow" screen -- I select "Allow" and after a few seconds am taken back to the the same Login screen.
I'm stuck in this loop and not sure what to do. Have done a bat pull to no avail.
Any help appreciated! Thanks for your reply. If by "open the facebook application" you mean go here:
http://apps.facebook.com/vlingoapp/#
it returns an error:
Error while loading page from Vlingo
Any other suggestions? -
Adobe Premiere Pro CC stuck in a Login Loop
Recently installed Premiere Pro CC using Creative Cloud - every time I try to load up Premiere, I'm asked to sign into my CC account. The program seems to accept my credentials - but then loops back to the login screen.
I've uninstalled, and reinstalled... with no luck. Bridge opens fine without issue and so does Media Encoder.
How do I break this loop?Try the solution given in the following knowledge base article.

Can't connect to an public wireless network
Hello,
I'm having trouble connecting to my college's wireless network. I've connected to it before. It loads a sign in page for you to login with your school ID . Since last week, I can see the network in my airport with full bars. The login page does not load and it says im not connected to the Internet. I've also put in the login page URL but that does not load either. The college's IT guy says he has seen this problems many times with macs this semester only. He said it might had been affected by a recent update.
I can connect to my wireless network at my house and also at my parents so I don't understand why I can't connect! Also , the login page loads on my iPhone.
Thanks to anyone with any answers!I have talked to other Mac and window users who were online.. So I'm not sure why I can't connect! The tech guy told me to make sure that my mac wasnt remembering my wifi settings

I have a Macbook Pro 5,5 with snowleopard on it. After downloading Mavericks, having a kernal panic that didn't allow my computer to reboot back up and reinstalling Snow Leopard my computer has now gotten stuck in a login loop. My computer originally wouldn't recoginze my password as right, so I changed it through Utilities. When that didn't work I tried reseting it in Single-User mode. After that, that's when it got stuck in a login loop. That's when I gave up and decided to just wipe it clean, again, and start from scratch but now I can't even do that. I can not go into any other screen or even boot up in safe mode. Is there any thing else I can do to just log in to my computer? If you can help that would be great, but please don't suggest pressing any buttons on boot up that I've described above because you'll just be wasting my time, as well as yours.
Frustrated2012:
Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Following up to Richard's suggestion to boot from the install disk, if you are able to do so successfully, try this:
Repair Disk
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it says anything but Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need to use a utility like Tech Tool Pro or Disk Warrior
Please post back with an update or with further questions or comments.
Cheers

NBC Olympics Live Extra login loop.
When trying to watch the NBC Olympics streaming I get stuck in a Login loop. You are asked to sign in to your provider which in my case is Dish and I enter my information and it goes away and then comes right back asking my provider again over and over. It works fine in IE and and Chrome and I have gotten it to work in Firefox only once but it quit working. When it did work it was MUCH better in Firefox (faster and smoother). I've tried reinstalling firefox, clearing history, reinstalling flash, clearing flash cache, tried without any addons in firefox all to no avail. I'm currently using the latest verison 14.0.1. Any ideas would be great as I much prefer Firefox to the other options.
Done all that, that is always the first thing I try when a site is acting screwy. :(
I also received the following from NBC support which also did nothing to help.
Thank you for contacting us.

10.5.3 - Login Loop after update
Hello,
after upgrading from 10.5.2 to 10.5.3, which ended with an error, which I unfortunately clicked away, I am stuck in a login loop. Login name and password are apparently accepted, but after a blue screen appears for a few seconds, the login window reappears instead of my desktop.
Article: 306965 seems to address the problem, but it is rather old and meant for the iMac.
Thanks,
ThomasDo you have a backup (clone?) from before you did the install? If so, then you should be able to restore from the clone. If not, make sure that you do in the future. Cloned systems make life relatively easy!
Failing that, try booting off your install CD and enable the root (admin) user. Then download the combo update (the 500+ MB one) and rerun the install of 10.5.3

Apple update causing login loop?
I just reformatted my computer and reinstalled the original operating system and everything works good after I put all of my files back into my computer from my backup. However, every time I try to to an update to either 10.6.6 or 10.6.8 I get stuck in this login loop where it asks me to login to my computer(which I normally don't have to do) and then after maybe ten seconds asks me to login again. I went into the single user mode I think it's called and tried resetting the password and deleting the launch services but it's still doing it. Do you have any idea why?
If you follow the directions here and are sure to enter all of this EXACTLY as it appears here, you may be able to solve this problem. Be very careful to note the spaces or lack of in the commands which you will enter.
You will first need to boot into single user mode, which will bring you to a scary looking text only screen. Don't be frightened.
To do this, startup holding the Cmd-S keys together. At the entry which shows root# enter the following exactly. Write it down now, since you won't be able to copy/paste. Pay attention to case and spaces. Everything is lower case. The only spaces are between /sbin/mount and -uw, between -uw and / and between rm and /var/audit/current
Type in
/sbin/mount -uw /
Hit return and then at the next root# prompt, type in
rm /var/audit/current
And hit return
Note: extremely important: the only space in the above command is between rm and /var. There are no other spaces. If you do not enter this command exactly as written you will erase your entire hard drive. YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO COPY AND PASTE WHEN IN SINGLE USER MODE. WRITE THIS DOWN EXACTLY AS IT APPEARS NOW. A SINGLE TYPO MAY WRECK YOUR DRIVE!!! IF YOU ENTER THE COMMANDS AS WRITTEN, THIS IS COMPLETELY SAFE.
At the next root# prompt type in "reboot" no quotes and hit return. Don't type in anything new until you get the root# prompt after entering each command.
If after entering rm /var/audit/current, you get a message back saying "no such file," then just type in "reboot" at the prompt and hit return. -
Please can you help me, I'm stuck!
It all start when I purchased some coins for the Facebook game bejewelled & it's gone down hill from there.
First after putting my password I got a message telling me my purchase was unsuccessfull then was prompted to put my password in again which I did & a message flashed up for a second saying something about my purchase being successful but not downloaded but soon after my coins appeared so I didn't think much more of that. UNTIL I got emails showing my purchase, which would fine as nothing is free but I realised I had been invoice twice for the same purchase, so I panick think how can I can my money back, so I clicked on the report a problem highlight in blue & I'm transferred to iTunes, after a short while a message pops up telling me I can't connect to iTunes.
I've tried lots of different ways to fix this but had no joy, I can't seem to get onto iTunes to get any suport either but it's still letting purchase stuff & look & purchase music & apps though iTunes, I've reset my device & also plug into my laptop, checked all my settings on the device etc:-
I've ran out of ideas, CAN YOU HELP!;)
ThanksPlace the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode. -
Ipod stuck in recovery mode and won't restore. says it can't connect to the network.
My son tried to jailbreak his ipod touch like an idiot and of course it did not work. Now his ipod is stuck in recovery mode and I can't get it to restore. I get a message that says:the ipod software update server could not be contacted. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later. I have internet access and everything is working but itunes can't connect to it. Why? I have been having issues with itunes for a couple weeks now. I can't connect to the store and redeem itunes cards either.
Make sure the setting for your security software allow iTunes to contact Apple servers:
iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues
As for the iPod, since he tried to modify the software, the only thing that could help would be DFU mode , we can't help much more, problems with jailbroken devices can't be discussed in theses forums, due to the Terms of Use.
Your son has to ask those people for help, which encouraged him to jailbreak his device.
