O9iAS Pentium 4 certification. When?

When OracleASHome102HTTPServer starts I get a Win2000 access exception c0000005 on java.exe. Little DrWatson window pops up... O9i logs Logs show nothing. Only drwatson shows problem info, assembler dump, ets...
Anyone know what's wrong? I've got O9iAS 1.0.2.0, Win2000SP1, Pentium 4, 1.4GHz, 512Mg RAM?
I know there is a problem with the jre JIT compiler on the P4. Got around this during O9iAS installation by using the '-nojit' parameter on all invocations of jrew.exe and jre.exe. Is my java.exe problem still with the P4 chip?

There will be a 9iAS 1.0.2.2.2 release in late November which
will solve the Pentium 4 issue.
Thanks,

  • SuccessFactors Customer Provisioning Access & Certification, when??

I will apologise first for my rant....
I have seen and read numerous blogs and discussion and am still no further forward in understanding if, and when, as a customer we will be able manage our own application.
We are migrating from SAP HCM, an application that we have fully supported internally and have members of the team fully certified. As we migrate to SuccessFactors we find there is so much 'configuration' that we are not able to complete and are told we have to rely on partners for any changes, at additional cost to us!!
I actually have a member of my team who has completed the mastery course, gained his certification through an SAP Partner, but as he now works for a customer he is not allowed provisioning access, can someone please explain the logic in that.......? Do consultants miraculously lose the ability to support an application when they leave a partner, I think not so what is the issue?
As of yet no one has given me a consistent or meaningful reason why this policy is in place and as far as I can see can only be looked at as a way of protecting intellectual property and also generating revenue for partners.
Last year I was informed that provisioning would be opened up to customers throughout 2015 but have seen or heard nothing to date.
All of this is utter rubbish and I would like to know other customers views on this and what responses they have had. It would also be good to hear exactly from SAP why this policy is in place. Just being told that we can't do things is not acceptable.
Had we know this before we signed up to the application we may well have looked at other options.
Happy to be contacted if anyone would like to discuss things.
Steve - a very disgruntled customer....

Some key concerns. SAP are currently re-working their training programs, so expect some things to change for customers in the coming 12 months or so.
One thing to note is that SAP are SuccessFactors moving towards UI-based configuration. Employee Central, for instance, will be 100% configurable via the UI by the end of the year/start of next year. Other applications will move that way, but there's only so many development resources they can throw at it.
It would be good for customers to have access to Provisioning, but one issue right now is that all applications are configurable irrespective of the licenses held. Once this is tidied up then they can start opening up the backend to customers.
Keep the faith... things will come.
    All the best,
    Luke

  • Unable to capture data from Serial port using LVRT2010 in single core pentium 4 machine

I am using application written in Labview using windows Labview
Runtime environment 2010. Application creates a tunnel to intercept data from
    Serial port.
My problem is, Currently, I am using single core Pentium
processor. When I am trying to intercept the data between COM1 and COM7 (COM 7
is a virtual port) it is not able to capture data.
When I am running Labview RT environment using dual core
processor machine it is running normally. I wonder whether it could be the compatibility issues with
    single core Pentium processor.

    Hi Magnetica
Are both of the machines running the same runtime engine,
    drivers ect?
Have you had RT applications running on this
    machine before?
Is the development computer a 64bit machine?
The processor is a supported model (See link below).

  • Can't install Oracle 8i EE 8.1.7 release3 on Pentium 4 machine

    Hi folks,
We are upgrading our PCs from Pentium 3 to Pentium 4, but we are having problems with Pentium 4 PCs: we are unable to install Oracle 8i Enterprise edition (8.1.7, release 3) on all our P4 machines (OS Win2000 professional; Gateway Pentium 4; 1.5 GHz speed; 256 MB RAM). Whenever we tried to install Oracle 8i (8.1.7, EE, release 3), its dead after running 3-4 seconds.
We had no problem with Pentium 3 PCs when we installed Oracle.
Have you successfully installed Oracle 8i (8.1.7 E.E r3 ) on you P4 machines? Since our PCs are all Gateway machines, I dont know if its a Gateway issue or an Oracle issue, please help me, thank you very much.

    Hi!
The solution for Intel Pentium 4 and Oracle problems is the following...
    1.)
Download JRE v1.1.8_008. Link for it: http://java.sun.com/products/jdk/1.1/jre/download-jre-windows.html
    2.)
Install JRE (onto any machine - we only need one file from it), search for the filename "symcjit.dll", and make a copy of it somewhere.
    3.)
Now copy the contents of your Oracle CD(s) to a temporary directory on your harddisk. Eg. D:\oracle_install
    4.)
Search for the filename "symcjit.dll" in your temporary directory (D:\oracle_install), and replace all instances with the one that you saved in Step No. 2.
    5.)
Start the setup from your temporary directory, and all will be fine...
    Zsolt M.
PS: This works for all Oracle products that are using Oracle Universal Installer (that means really all Oracle products... :) )
PS2: Some people think that the Intel P4 problem only concerns Windows 2000 and XP. They are wrong. The older (pre JRE v1.1.8_006) symcjit.dll libraries contain some functions that do not properly identify the Intel P4 processor, and therefor fail... This is a common problem with the old Symantec Java JustInTime Compiler and Intel Pentium 4 CPUs that affects all Oracle products (which use the old libraries) under all Windows operating systems.

  • Oracle Certification and the Hands-On Course Requirement (Part 1)

Some good info for many of you who are working on an Oracle certification: "Oracle Certification and the Hands-On Course Requirement" http://bit.ly/P1yyh

    Neha,
One item that may be helpful for you is the Hands On Course Form Tutorial http://www.oracle.com/global/us/education/certification/pdfs/hands.pdf.
->How many Questions they ask in Hands on Course ?
Different forms have a different number of questions depending on the path and number of courses that are approved to count toward the certification
->"when did you take it" , should I answer in duration or the Start date of batch or end date of batch ?
You should provide the course start date
    ->What is "Course Facility Name"?
The name of the facility where you took your course
->will i be asked to provide the order number which i get from oracle while registering the exam at oracle ?
You will need your course enrollment number. This should be in the documentation that you received when you registered for the course
->is it correct Course Title - Oracle 9i DBA Fundamental II ?
You should find your course title on your course completion certificate. There will be a list of courses to choose from on the "test"/form.
->I dont receive any certificate from SQL STAR , But will be getting after 3-4 weeks, in the mean time i wish to fill HOC ?Can i Do it ?
Yes you can do it, you'll just need to be sure that you have all the information that is required >Course title, Course enrollment number, training location.
->Please give more questions which can be asked in it , whether it is known or not ?
You will also need your Prometric ID.

  • How much it is worthful spending so much of money on certifications......

    Hi .....
How much it is worth of certification, when you don't get your ID card?
You can carry the ID card with you for any interview or any professional meetings.
I wonder why the ID card system is eliminated?
I believe it is still exists in Europe.. I got one when I gave my certification exam in 2006/2007.
Please try to give the ID cards for the certified professionals. I know you are giving the LOGO....Which will noway make any difference on the resumes....but if you have an ID card you can carry it with you like a badge.
    Please comment......

  • 915GM speedster motherboard for Pentium M mobile CPU's confusion

    Hi,
I wonder if anyone could advise me, the motherboard has a jumper J6 to alter the cpu voltage between 1.5 volts and 1.8. But none of the pentium M processors use these voltages (they are between 1volt and 1.48).
What do people set this too. Also regarding this jumper which is the number one pin? there are no markings at all on the motherboard. Do I assume that the drawing showing the settings in the manual is orientated correctly, in relation to the motherboard layout drawing. I am unable to get the motherboard to boot properly, the most I can get is a logo page for a few seconds before the board shuts down. This is with a 1.8Ghz pentium M dothan. With other cpu's the board is dead.
I have tried the following without success.
two different power supplys (both known good ones of more than adequate wattage)
    4 different CPU's 1.8, 1.6, 1.5Ghz, pentium M's  all 400Mhz FSB .nd a Celeron M 1.4.
both ddr 2 and ddr 1 memory (I know you can only use one type at once)
Could anyone having this board please let me know the settings they have used for jumpers J4,J5 and J6
and which CPU they are using.
I am waiting delivery of some 533 FSB pentium M,s so hopefully I will have more luck. I have always had good results with MSI boards and want to be sure before I return it.
    Thanks.

I believe I have resolved the problem. The board was doing a thermal shutdown. I must admit to not being familiar with Intel Pentium P4 boards, When they were current I always bought AMD Athlons for cost and performance reasons.
The board has what I believe to be a standard P4 heatsink mount, so I used a what I believe was a standard p4 heatsink and fan. But the heatsink was not contacting the cpu, I have now used another heatsink with a raised "Platform" on the base. I am certain this is contacting the CPU as I can feel it rocking on the the CPU itself before I fit the retaining clamps. The other heatsink had a totally flat bottom so was sitting on the mounting frame not the CPU. I am very lucky that the thermal cutout worked, I sincerely hope this has prevented any damage to the CPU. If it had been an Athlon I would have been in the market for a new CPU as I don't think they had a thermal cutout. The board has been displaying the BIOS PC health status all the time I have been writing this and it has settled to a steady 36 degree CPU temperature. I feel foolish that I did not work this out sooner, I do not want to break things. Although the chip was cheap enough (I got a batch of 4 for £7.71 in total including postage) I pride myself in taking care and doing a good job. I can only say in my defence that the heatsink mounting frame prevented me from seeing if the heatsink was seated correctly. I will be building this board up as a media center, the low noise and power consumption will be ideal. I may look to add a basic passively cooled graphics card so that I can have an HDMI output to connect to my TFT telly.
I very much appreciate your help and I will try to support this forum in the future.

  • Certification Renewal Statuses

    Hi all
I would appreciate some advice regarding Certification statuses for renewable certifications.
If a learner is currently well in date (say this runs out in two months time) and the renew icon is active for the certification they get two different certification statuses depending on whether the certification is linked to online or offline learning.
    1. With online learning if the user clicks on renew the certification status remains as Certified but the progress changes from Completed to Active (which is what I would expect) once they play the online assessment (and pass) if revert back to Certified/Completed.
    2. If the certification is linked to offline learning and the learner clicks on the renew icon the status changes to Certified with a progress of Inactive, but the moment they enrol on an attached offline class the status changes to Subscribed/Inactive. Surely this should still display Certified / Active as they are still technically in date.
Has anyone experienced this or can give an explanation?
    Regards
    Pip

    Hi Pip,
This has nothing to do with online / offline learning in itself. This has to do with the parameters you used when you originally set up your Certification, when the different events happened and what Courses/Classes are available to the different users.
There are a lot of parameters involved in this and you need to know all of it in order to comment on this.
I will suggest you contact Oracle Support, they can go through your specific setup and situation and advice you.
You can read a short description of the different statuses in the OLM User Manual in the chapter Catalog - Learning Certifications - Learning Certifications Statuses.

  • IPhone no longer works with car charger

I bought this car charger and it worked for months, and when I got back from a road trip I got the latest iPhone OS update and now the phone tells me that "Charging is not supported with this accessory."

Did the charger include the "made for iPhone" certification when purchased including for the 3GS?
Your iPod Classic can be charged via USB or Firewire. The original iPhone can be charged via USB or Firewire, but the FireWire pins were removed from the iPhone's dock connector after the original iPhone which is also the same with all iPod models now. If your car charger charges via FireWire, this wouldn't work with the 3GS regardless. If a 3rd party device does not include the "made for iPhone" certification, this doesn't mean it won't work with the iPhone but having the certification ensures it - unless the device has failed.
If there were something wrong with your iPhone, it wouldn't be charging when connected to your computer or to the wall charger either.
If the charger includes the "made for iPhone" certification, contact the manufacturer. If not, purchase one that does.

  • IZ0-047  and  Oracle '12c'

    Hello,
    According to this article http://www.computerworlduk.com/news/applications/3361449/oracle-12c-database-set-for-december-or-january-release/
The new version of Oracle '12c' is scheduled to be released on December this year or January 2013...
I just wanna know if the IZ0-047 : SQL Expert will still be valid for the new version of Oracle?
    your thoughts?
    Thanks

I just wanna know if the IZ0-047 : SQL Expert will still be valid for the new version of Oracle? It depends on what you mean by 'valid'. If you are asking whether people certified as SQL Experts will continue to have a valid certification, I guarantee that will be the case. Oracle does not invalidate existing certifications when new releases come out. The SQL Expert certification, like the PL/SQL developer certifications (and unlike the DBA certifications) is not 'versioned'. Someone getting this certification today does not become an "Oracle 11g SQL Expert".
If you are asking whether the content of the SQL Expert test will still be valid for Oracle 12c, the question becomes (slightly) grayer. I have not been following Oracle 12c. I know that it's supposed to be cloudier, but little else about it. It may well contain significant new SQL functionality that should be included in the SQL Expert exam. However, I'm certain that it will not invalidate the information that exists in the current test. Oracle will not abandon ANSI SQL or remove existing functionality. Even if new functionality exists and Oracle decides to add it to a new version of the Expert test, this is unlikely to happen for quite some time following the release and would probably require a new beta exam. In all, a new 12c-enhanced test (if such were even to happen) wouldn't be available until 2014.
I can't see worrying too much about it myself. If you're interested in obtaining this certification, then I would go for the current version rather than waiting on some future update that may not happen for years.

hi anyone took oracle 10G OCA 1z0-042 exam?
Just want to ask for some advice and guide regarding the exam.
Is the OCA 1z0-042 exam questions more on situational, pl/sql commands or the concepts?

    Hi JrOraDBA,
I think what Hub is trying to say is that Testking is a braindump company and using them is considered cheating; and you can lose your certifications when you're caught using them. You sound like an honest person and you're right to want to spend your money wisely, it is your future you're trying to secure; correct? ;)
Before you jump into any training, study guides, mock exams, or anything of the sort, it would be best for you to verify that the websites you use are not going to put your certifications at risk. Here are some links that will help you:
