OA Development for E-Business Suite 11.5.10.2

Hi Guys
I am a ADF Developer on a project with a need to deploy a custom application which will change how the forms work from oracle for to jsp based pages.
Been running around all the oracle sites trying to find info and what i have come accross is this
Please correct me if i am wrong..
The only way to do this is With JDevloper 9i and the OA extension 5.10
Right and that is downloadable from metalink at Oracle9i JDeveloper with OA Extension for 11.5.10 CU2 ------- Pathc 4573517
We have applications 11.5.10.2 which is release 2 is that extension still correct
Furthermore in order to skill up on the ways in which to develop them i should look at the developers guide of which i have yet to find...
PLease this is really crucial and is delaying development on the project

If you want to develop extensions on existing Ebusiness suite then using OAF and creating extensions is the best appraoch because we provide a lot of extension hooks through which you can deploy and integrate your extensions in a upgrade safe way and use the underlying security infrastrsucture automatically. You donot need to develop jsp pages but use the metadata based development platform provided by Jdev with OAExt and OAF which integrates UIX, BC4J and MDS.
Also if i do use ADF how do i leverge the session data that is stored in the browser when one logs onto E-Biz, as that would be critical for the development of the system, also when using adf would that still make use of the back end process's that currently take place in e-biz.
- You will be able to leverage the session data when you develop extensions using OAF through standard APIs.
The latest and greatest is 11i.ATG_PF.H RUP3 which is available on Metalink via ARU 4334965.
You need to go through the OAF 11.5.10 Metalink Documentation Road Map Metalink Note 275880.1 which has all the relevant documentation on developer guide and personalization guides. In oredr to effectively develop extensions you need to be fully aware of the personalization and extension capabilities listed in the documentation.

Hi,
I'm interested in learning forms development for Oracle E-Business Suite (specifically forms 10 as that is what I have installed on my vision instance). Other than the EBS developers guide, can anyone point me in the direction of some learning resources (books, online content etc) that I can learn forms from scratch? Specifically for E-Business Suite though as I'm aware that EBS forms development is significantly different than just standard Oracle forms.

Tools Survey: GUI Development for E-Business Suite

I choose four different tools that are able to create graphical user interfaces which are working in the Oracle E-Business Suite. Now I have to judge all the tools and take one 'winner'. For this I made some criteria list:
1. Development
1.1 Rapidness
1.2 EBS Integration
2. Application
2.1 Performance
2.2 GUI
3. Miscellaneous
3.1 Support of Oracle
3.2 Community (-Size)
3.3 Costs
Now the four tools are:
A Oracle Forms
B Oracle APEX
C Oracle Application Framework
D Microsoft .NET Framework
I just want to ask if some users that have experience with one or more of that tools give me some judgements or hints. I want to give every tool 1 to 5 points and in the end I have a 'winner'. So it would be great if many users participate and give points for one or more tools (if possible with some small comments)... thx

Now that depends on what you want to achieve.
If you want to extend or customize a standard EBS screen, then the best way is to use OAF and Forms.
If you want to create new applications using new tables, etc that can integrate with EBS well that depends on your current skills. You can use all the 4 tools you mentioned, however using OAF and Forms (template.fmb) is recommended because it inherits Oracle EBS features as well internal libraries also it is created specifically for EBS so you can use EBS like feature like personalization or custom.pll.
However I've seen companies use other tools to create new applications, just that you might need to give more effort IMHO.

Mount point 1 =Oracle Binary
Mount point 2 =Data files
Mount point 2 =Index files
Mount point 2 =Archived logs

On our HPUX node, we have each environment (PROD, TEST, DEV) on it's own separate mountpoint. Each mountpoint is a separate LUN (Vdisk) on our SAN (an HP EVA4400). No performance issues at all. Our Windows nodes runs Apache and forms, and that is on the internal disks on the windows machine itself. Hope this helps.

ATS load testing for E-Business Suite using IE8 issue

Hi,
I am trying to record a load testing script using Oracle Application testing SUite for E-Business Suite R12.1.3 application. When I start recording I get a pop up asking me to change/disable XSS filter in IE8. I have altready done that and restarted the browser. But the same pop up message comes up.
My queries are:
1) Is ATS 9.3 supported for use with Internet Explorer 8? I am using Windows 7
2) How can I overcome this issue so that I can records EBS script in openscript.

1/ ATS 9.3 is supported with IE8, not IE9 at the moment
2/ Did you disable xss settings for the four different security zones?
You can also try to add the EBS url to the trusted sites and disable xss settings for that zone only.

License keys for mySAP Business Suite

Hello,
We have IDES system installed with Oracle database. IDES system was a part of installation of productive system.
Our license expired 5 days ago. I requested new license from the site and only recieved temporary one. It says:
"License keys for mySAP Business Suite
The database you selected has not been licensed under this installation number. "
What steps should i take to recieve unlimited license?
If it requires Oracle license, should i order it from SAP or i can purchase it separately?

I'm unsure what kind of documentation you are after. It really comes down to the Oracle eBusiness documentation on how to implement it, e.g. field A should be populated with the following information.
As far as the adapter documentation all you do is find the service using the adapter. This is broken into the different modules so it should be easy to find. When you select it the adapter will create the interface so you can start implementing your processes.
Exactly what issues are you facing.

A lot of it comes down to support fees, and what kind of patches you can get for the products. In addition to the links that Hussein has provided, you might want to look at Steven Chan's blog to see what extended support means in the context of E-Business Suite:

Connecting Oracle Forms Developer to E-Business Suite

Hi,
I have downloaded the Oracle DevSuite (10g) and BITools, I have managed to connect Oracle Discoverer to the db without any issues however, I am trying to connect Oracle Forms Developer 10g to our E-Business Suite 11i db and I keep getting the ORA- 01017 invalid username/password logon denied error message.
Should I be able to connect Oracle Forms Developer to the Oracle Business Suite databse without any issues or am I missing something,
any help would be greatly appreciated,

Hi Chris
First, You should know that the developer certified version for Oracle Apps development is 6i patch 18 (there's a new patch 19 also). On Discoverer, it's Ok to use 10G.
Now, on the connection issue, by the message it is related to the user/pass entered. If in Discoverer You are using oracle apps integration You may be using and application user and password, but that can be used to connect to the database.
Ask in Your project for apps password (may be apps or welcome12 if and on demand environment) for the development environment, or check if there's is a custom schema defined for development and get the user/pass for that one also. You may try with applsyspub/pub meanwhile to check connection but it's a restricted user.

Have a look at the new integration repository available at:
http://irep.oracle.com.
Services in the repository are accessible as described in the
respository and using the EBusiness Suite adapter within
the Oracle BPEL Process Manager. BPEL PM "processes"
are web services.
