OAM 11g not starting
Hi All,
I recently installed OAM 11g using following Steps:
1. Installed 11g DB
2. RCU utility for creating OAM repositories
3. Installed WebLogic 11g
4. Added OAM instances to the Weblogic Domain
5. Launch Weblogic
5.1 Weblogic ADMIN console coming up without any issues: http://oam:7001/console
5.2 When I try to Launch OAM App from Weblogic console or CMD prompt (using command: startManagedWeblogic.cmd oam_server1 t3://oam:14001) I get the following error: OAM is not coming up:

Coreapp in 11g not starting correctly
I have upgraded from 10g to 11g and run the UA as well as refreshed the GUID's. When I start OPMN, presentation services does not start. When I go through EM and do a restart I get the same behavior where everything starts except presentation service. When I go to the Availability tab and select Presentation Service and click start selected, it starts with no issue. The system almost acts like when OPMN starts it is starting services out or order thus why Presentation Service fails, but will start once everything is online. The logs are not telling me anything because nothing is truly failing. Has anyone seen this behavior? The install was done on AIX.
I found that by setting the permissions on the middleware directory recursively to 775 that this resolved the issue.

I installed fmw 11.1.1.4 on 64 bit windows system.Everyting is working fine but while starting BAM managed server its not starting properly,
In em and WL the bam server is showing up state, but in deployed application oracle-bam is showing down state.
Any suggestion...

Issue - BI content server(11.1.1.1) not starting in obiee 11g:
Hello All,
BI content server(11.1.1.1) is not starting in obiee 11g after making OBIEE 11g services as windows service.
Services are starting when we do a Start BI Services from All Programs >> OBIEE. On the contrary, when we start from windows service "bi content server(11.1.1.1) not starting in obiee 11g" is not starting.
Can someone help me on this. In case if you need any more info, please let me know.

BI Server not starting in OBIEE 11g

While starting the BI server from Enterprise Manager in OBIEE 11g I am facing this issue.
the details in the error log says.

see whether the cluster control is alive.. if the status is other than Alive.. try to restart the BI cluster controls from http://localhost:7001/em/

OAM 11g "Failure URL" in Authoriztion policy not working?

Per the subject, I am running OAM server 11g (11.1.1.3), with an OAM 10g Apache webgate.
In the OAM Authorization policy (protected), I have specified a full URL for the "Failure URL", to get the browser to redirect when an authorization failure occurs.
However, when I test with a user that does not have access (user authenticates ok, but doesn't have right to access the protected resource), instead of the browser being redirected, I am getting an "Oracle Access Manager Operations Error" page.
I've been trying to figure this out, and have found several threads about this, e.g.:
OAM 11g authz redirect URL not working?
But, as I said, I am using OAM 11g server, and there is no "Inconclusive URL" in the policy settings (I guess there was in 10g, but not in 11g).
I have trace logging enabled on the OAM server, and I can clearly see that the request is getting "results DENY", but there's no indication in the logs that OAM server is aware of any failure redirection URL.
I've also got a header trace, and I can see that the browser is simply being re-directed to the "/oberr.cgi...." URL, so it' not going "somewhere else".
So, does anyone know why the "Failure URL" is not working in OAM 11g in Authorization policies?

CSS does not start using 11g RH4 SCSI drives

Followed all necessary procedures for setting up oracle. The problem is when I try and get ASM working, I get to the part that says CSS is not running and then do a $ORACLE_HOME/bin/localconfig add as root with all environmental variables set up properly. Furthermore, oracleasm was previously installed, properly configured because I can run the scan, query and list and it comes back correctly.

OIM-OAM 11g BP 02 integration not working as expected
Hi Experts,
We have OIM 11g and OAM 11g both upgraded to BP02 installed on separate hosts. We are using OID 11g as the directory servers and OVD 11g fronting OID for integration. We followed the steps mentioned in Oracle Document Oracle® Fusion Middleware Integration Guide for Oracle Access Manager 11g Release 1 (11.1.1)Part Number E15740-04 for integration purpose.
After performing all the integration tasks mentioned in the document, while testing the ingtegration, the expected results are not been serverd.
If I access OIM admin console URL, am getting default OIM admin console URl instead of OAM SSO login page for authencation. and also I am unable to login using either xelsysadm\oimadmin\oamadmin but I can login using weblogic, so this is referin to the default embeded LDAP of weblogic for credential validation.
OIM and OAM are deployed on separate hosts, please find the deployment details below.
1. JDK: 1.6.0_29
2. WLS : 10.3.5
3. LDAP: Oracle Internet Directory: 11.1.1.5.0
Oracle Virtual Directory: 11.1.1.2.0
4. Webserver: Oracle HTTP Server fronting the OIM
The Integration videa on Support.oracle assumes that all components OIM\OAM/OID/OHS being on the same host.
I have my OIM and OAM both patched to the latest BP which is BP 02. There is a support article which specifically talks about few settings ton be made for BP 02.
the article ID is 1447494.1.
Even after doing all these, the integration is not working.
As per the support article, I need to use preferred host name for agent fronting OIM as IAMSuiteAgent and if I do that, the proxying of OIM server with the webserver host will not work at all and ends with 404 not found error when I access using http://OHShost:OHSport/oim.
but if i use the name of agent i.e webserver name in the preferred host field, the redirection would happen and i get OAM SSO login page for authentication, however with the credential validation at this page, the OIM login page (http://OIMhost:OIMport/oim) is provided prompting for login again.
also if i access OIM login page http://OIMhost:OIMport/oim directly, the OAM SSO page is not coming for authentication.
I am awaiting your advice\suggestions or workarounds if any one has come across this kind of issue, which i am sure is an obvious case.

Oracle 11g database instance will not start
I have an oracle 11g instance running on 64bit windows server 2008. The instance will not start:

After that, the oracle service for the instance stops.
It will startup with nomount and I can mount it with no issue, but as soon as I try: alter database open; it fails.
I ran a validate in rman, and no error were found.

CRS not starting after Oracle 11g Grid was succesuflly installed

Have 2 node RAC. My Shared storage is on openfiler.
Oracle 11g Grid was successfully installed and all the services was working fine. When i restarted the system I found CRS was not coming up. Remaining processes were up and running.
Let me explain what I did: (O/s RHEL 5.4 & oracle 11g R2 grid)
I have a partition in shared disk /dev/sdc1 (I have other partitions, but thought of using only one for OCR and voting disk). (did not define it as raw partition as I used to do in 10g RAC).
While installing Oracle grid and when it prompted to enter the Diskgroup for OCR and Voting disk I gave a name DGDATA and choose only one (external redundancy) disk “/dev/sdc1″ (it does not ask for one for OCR and one for Voting as it used to do in 10g clusterware installation). As per my assumption both OCR and Voting disk were created within /dev/sdc1 (after installation when I queried I got the same info)
The Oracle grid installation has gone through successfully. when I restart the system I find CRS not starting.
The log says: “Error PROC:26: Error while accessing the physical storage ASM……..
ORA-01034: oracle not available...
Could not init OCR, code:26….
Linux permission denied".
For your information….ASM instance is up (check in both the nodes) and I find the diskgroup mounted.
Can anyone help on this.
Also let me know how to uninstall Oracle 11g Grid software and configuration. If I have to reinstall the Oracle 11g grid software and config once again is it possible without reinstalling RHEL. Let me know the steps or any link please. don't want to get into a mess again.

DineshJorg, I even tried to nomount the DB instance using initDBRAC.ora pfile. Then tried to create spfile still got the same error.

Installed 11g XE, started ok, sqlplus access ok, but APEX not running
Installed 11g XE, started ok, sqlplus access ok, firewall 8080, 1521, 2030, ports opened but no access to http://localhost:8080/apex/f?p=4950
I've done a "select current_date from dual" query from sqlplus using sys as sysdba and result is ok.
I've started database twice from startdb.bat lnk.
I checked that Oracle Services are ok and running.
I tried to shutdown windows firewall.
I rebooted windows.
I am using windows xp prof. sp3, chrome browser, and admin account.
I can see at forum that other users are in same situation like me.

OAM 11g start up error - MicroSMImpl
All,
One of our clustered oam members is not starting up cleanly. Get the following exceptions, cleaned up tmp files and restarted several time with no luck. Has anyone seen this error before? Everything was working before for a long time and no change was made to the configuration. Other nodes in the cluster come up just fine.

oracle.security.am.common.policy.runtime.PolicyEvaluationException: OAMSSA-06186: Unable to initialize PolicyRuntimeProviderImpl! : "oracle.security.am.common.policy.runtime.PolicyEvaluationException: oracle.security.am.common.policy.admin.PolicyManagerException: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.bea.security.impl.MicroSMImpl".We are not clear the root cause of this yet. We are working with Oracle Support on this and hope that they will be able to help as Oracle development is the only one who can address such blackbox type weblogic issues. We suspect that whenever there is a db table space issue or other lower level stack password expiry issues or policy issues occur environment becomes unstable and doesn't shut down cleanly (ports don't get cleared etc). Even after multiple restarts of OID/OVD/associated weblogic managed servers the issue stays. I also tried to explicitly add the associated jar file to the weblogic class path.
The way we are currently dealing with is:
1. Cleanup files under /tmp directory (or wherever your environments temporary files are loaded)
2. Reboot the host server (linux in our case)

Not able to access OAM 11g Console

We have OAM 11g environment. Initially we are able to login to oamconsole using "weblogic" user. We changed user store to OVD then onwards we are not able to login to console.

As GK says, you should just be able to add the user to the group that is defined in the "OAM Administrator's Role" in the OVD identity store that you have defined - could you verify that the user you are logging in as is a member of this group, and that the group's cn attribute value matches what you have defined in the user store.
What symptoms are you seeing - for example,are you being successfully authenticated but getting denied access to /oamconsole, or are you getting double-prompted for login?

I started all the servers. But BI server is not starting. I got the below error.

Your Principal name should be the SSO LB URL.(ie :sso.mycomany.com)
ktpass -princ HTTP/sso.mycomany.com@DOMAIN -pass XXXXXXX mapuser DOMAIN\user -out oam.keytab.
Also make sure sso.mycomany.com has a reverse DNS configured correctly.
you can check using dig command
ping sso.mycomany.com
What ever the ip-address
dig -x <IP-ADDRESS>
Check in the reverse DNS section there should be 1 record.
