OAM language question

Hello,
Customer has OAM installed on Windows 2003 where the OS language is in Japanese. Just wanted to check the feasibility of having the parameter, log files etc in English so that basic administration and support activities can be done in English.
Any help on this will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Sudipto

Hi All,
I have doubt with OAM related stuff. My question is
If OAM uses MS Active Directory as its identity store (AD domain with user and password details), and will be integrated with OIM for password self service capabilities. The standard out of box capabilities is expected to be supported:
1. Force change password on first
2. Force change password on being reset by help desk
3. Forgot password journey – answer security questions and retrieve your password
To support the above,
a) Can OAM 11g support the typical AAA requirements, and the password change functionalities above, when connected with MS Active Directory and OIM 11g? Instead of OID 11g proxied by OVD 11g.Obviously your typical is not the same as everyone else's typical
b) If it’s possible, this implies the IDAM implementation will not require OIM to be provisioning to OID via OVD (the auto-synch process). Instead OIM will be provisioning identities into MS AD via the AD connector.Or to OVD although it's probably simpler to provision to AD directly
Do we have any technical limitations of the IDAM 11g solution that will fail to meet either access management or self-service requirements?Everything is possible with customization and development. Out of the box OAM 11g does not support 1, 2 or 3.

Yes. You simply set the language in teh application manager and the programs will install in that language.

    Simon,
sure, the worst thing that could happen is that people point you to the SUN forum. Usually this forum answers general Java questions.

  • Multi Language Question

I am using SAP MDM 5.5 SP6.  The Language set to English only for my test repository and all the fields are Multi language = NO.
My understanding is that if we are loading multi language data then Repository needs to set it for multi languages and fields set to multi lang = YES.
If I am not mistaken,  I am able to load the multi Language data in English, Chinese(CN) and Portuguese (PT)  Russian(RU) etc and displayed correctly in the Data Manager.  When I syndicated as text file, it created correctly with multi Language as far as I know.
My question is, this has anything to do with the file I am loading?.
I am confused.  Anyone clarify this?

    Hi Mike,
Yep it all depends upon the file you load, what ever data is there in the file will be mapped and loaded in the field irrespective of the language, and when you make ur repository/field multilingual it does not update it, those values will stay still in the English row only.
    Cheers,
    Cherry.

  • Portal Language Questions

    Hi ALL,
I have a question. I am changing the portal language.
1)Do I need to change back end  language.
2)If I need to change the back end language, tell me which of these back ends need to change the language setting.
    ECC
    SRM
    CRM ISA
    MDM
    BI
    Please guide me on this.

    Hi Marcus,
We recently installed more Portal languages for an SSO project. This resulted in some IAC iViews no longer letting the user through to the backend over the ITS server if a language was used that was not available on the backend. The user would get a logon screen instead of the transaction with the language set to the portal language.
You can configure the iView to force a language that's available on the backend, but you can only select a single language here. If a user has a language selected in the Portal that would be available on the backend, then he will still be forced to work with that forced language...
So far I am unaware of a solution where you can pull the available languages on the backend directly. Our solution was to a enter the available languages in a parameter in the transaction iView, then read this parameter and see if the user has one of these languages selected. If not, then he's forced to use a fallback language (English for example).
You can read more about it here:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/de95e490-0201-0010-b390-f0f23a95e2b8
So yeah, in essence you don't get an error per say, but you will be forced to change you r language in the iView before you can logon.
    Cheers,

  • Snow Leopard language question

Hi I have a Macbook with Leopard in english, I bought Snow Leopard in the Mexico online Apple Store because I live in the border and it was easier for me, and my order says MAC OS X 10.6 SNOW LEOPARD RETAIL-SPA, my question is, am I gonna have Snow Leopard in Spanish?, because I didn't have any option to change the language, and I want it in english, is there any way to change the language during the installation?

I've found my Snow Leopard install software is in a far eastern language. Perhaps Japanese, but I wouldn't know for sure. Main startup page is in English, but then I'm asked to agree to the licence agreement without being able to understand a word. Installation options are in the other language too - apart from Rosetta and QuickTime 7. Can I select the language, or do I have to install this blind?

  • WINDOWS 7 64 BITS OEM LICENSE LANGUAGE QUESTION

    Hello to all,
My company have bought some HP desktops without any OS. This was because we have some OEM licenses for windows 7 professional 64 bits that we bought for a virtualization project that did not suceed and the licenses were never used.
We want to install those OEM licenses in the desktops but we found that the dvd that came with each license as the OS in Portuguese and we would like to install the OS in english.Since we do not want
to take any chance and not be 100% legal with Microsoft my first question is if we can use on those desktops the OEM license for windows 7 professional 64 bits Portuguese language that we have but have the desktops with windows 7 professional 64 bits English
language OS.That takes me to the second question that is if we can use one windows 7 professional 64 bits english dvd to setup the desktops.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Best Rgs,
    Ricardo Mendes

    Hi,
As far as I know, in windows 7, only the Ultimate and Enterprise are support multiple language.
Windows 7 language packs are available for computers that are running Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972813
And if you want to use OEM license, you need the OEM disk from the manufacturer to install windows.

  • Flex language questions should go in the General Discussion Forum

This forum is intended for Flex Builder questions.
Of course you can post wherever you like, but if you want
help, go where the helpers are.
    Tracy

can you define what goes where then?
General discussion sounds like thoughts, comments, hopes and
    wishes.
Builder 2, (meaning Flex Builder 2?), seems to be the only
area for other Flex 2 questions.
I don't mean to be wise here, but I personally don't
understand what a "builder 2" question is if not those that deal
with flex 2, such as those posted here. I want to post my questions
where they should be so that I might find help, so maybe the forum
labelling should be re-considered or better defined.

  • A language question, didn't find answer in spec.

The question is, if I have a class defined as a private static member of another class, and it extends the outside class at the same time, can it access another private static member in the same class?
    The sample follows:
    public abstract class Main {
    private static class Runner extends Main {
    public void run(int i, int j) {
    run(i);
    private static synchronized void run(int i) {
javac compiled it, but since Runner is a subclass of Main, it doesn't have the previllege to acess run( int ) in Main because it is a private member.
    I am confused...
    Thanks for any reply.

Though I've not tried your situation specifically,
everything inside of a class should have objectscope
and visibility. Internal classes should be able to
see back into the class they are encapsulated into. It's this vs access modifiers. Inner classes should
be able to see back into the outer class, but
apparently if the inner class extends the outer class
(don't know why you'd do this), inner class (subclass)
loses access since private members can't be seen by
    subclasses.
I guess the access modifier takes precedence.Disregard this previous post.
I think the call we are actually making is the static Main.run(int), not a member of Runner, therefore inheritance rules don't apply.
I think this is what happens. Correct me if i'm wrong.
    Main.run(int)            What gets called
static any access        Main.run(int) as a static method
    nonstatic private        Compile error
nonstatic protected      Main.Runner.run(int) as an inherited method
nonstatic public         Main.Runner.run(int) as an inherited method

  • InDesign language question

I have an InDesign document created in English, and it needs to have a version translated to Chinese. Someone translated the text for me and gave it to me in a Word doc. I can't copy and paste the Chinese characters from Word into InDesign, so I must be missing some feature in InDesign.  What do I need to install and how do I go about getting InDesign to recognize the Chinese characters that I need to paste from Word?

If you do not have Yahei, you might try replacing it with Adobe Heiti Std, bundled with CS6 packages (don't forget that the CJK fonts are down at the bottom of ID's font list).  English-language ID can handle Chinese, but if you need the special features available in CJK versions you must use either a Chinese version or the World Tools Pro plugin.  But you really might be able to get by with straight English IDCS6.
    Good luck!

  • Reoprts in two languages question!

    Using Reports 6i Client/Server & Application Server
    I have a poser.....
I need to produce several reports where the item labels can be displayed in one of two languages depending on a table flag!
I have contemplated just producing two seperate sets of reports but as the system grows this will lead to potentially much greater maintenence requirements.
Conditional formatting on each label is an option as is having the item labels as items in the report.
Does anyone have experience of a similair situation? Does anyone have any advice they can offer?
I'm not not sure which approach to take at the moment. All I can think of is 'why me?!!'

Use XML-Files for configure your language. XML1 for language one, XML2 for language 2. In XML-File there is a function returning the string in the correct language. This function must also be implemented in the RDF. In works in Reports 6 up to reports 10g. We use it.

  • Language question - static

I need a little information on the keyword static to be sure if my idea might work.
One of my classes ( call it View ) uses another class called Connector, this class is used to get information from the database. Currently I pass an instance of the Connector to each and every instance of View in order to keep the same connection to the database, because once the Connector class is initialized, the connection is established.
I would like to know ( I am asking before I change all that code ) if I can define the Connector in my View as a static class such as:
    private static Connector = new Connector();
    or maybe
    final?
Would this cause each instance of View to use the original Connector() ???? I can only have one instance for each running app, isn't that how the static keyword works? maybe?

Thanks for the reply's! The site says you get new duke dollars every month but I never get any so it's hard to find answers to questions!
While I was waiting for a response, I found a good link on instance versus class members (for those people who might one day need this and search here)
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/java/javaOO/classvars.html
This helped me to come up with
    protected static Connector connector = new Connector();
So right on the money, thanks!
Instance versus class variables has always been a problem in concept for me, ever since Smalltalk, I am now seeing much clearer and will finally be able to take advantage of this which is really powerful and because of the above I was able to cut out a lot of code.
    Thanks again.

  • Lion upgrade, language question

I'm currently living in italy and I want to install Lion OS X, my app store is all in italian. Will lion be in Italian? Or will it be in English like the version of Snow Leopard that is currently on my computer? I really don't want the unpleasant surprise of installing lion and finding my computer to be in Italian!

OS X  always includes all the language localizations, including English,  listed in its tech specs no matter where you get it.

  • Language question after update new firmware 200.21...

    Hello,
I would like to update my Nokia E71-2 (code 0569371 RM-357) to the latest firmware v  200.21.118, but before I do it, i want to know about which languages it contains in this firmware, dose it contains the French language?
Thanks very much for your help

The firmware update will contain a language pack specific to the region your phone is coded for.
So if your phone was bought in france from a reputable french retailer, then it should have the appropriate product code and french should be included in the update
