OAS 10.1.3.2.0 WebCenter SRDemo_App Request Demo: missing file folder
Hi,
I have installed the Oracle AS 10.1.3.2.0 WebCenter Framework and am trying to follow the SRDemo_App Demo from
Installing the Oracle WebCenter Suite Service Request Demo
U:\WebCenter\SRDemo_App_Download\install\install.html
Here in this file, Section 1, Step 1, point 4, the documentation says:
4. In the C:\srdemo\oc4j\srdemo_oc4j directory, read the README_PDK.txt for steps to install OC4J.
I have checked the downloaded file and do not see any file or directory for srdemo_oc4j nor for README_PDK.txt.
Can somebody help me please?
Thank you for your attention.
Hi,
Actually it's niether.. This script is optional, you create it if you want to assign certain numbers for the ports and not to leave it to the defaults assigned by the installer. So you create it and tell the installer where to find it.
You can find the details here:
http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/linux.1013/install/reqs.htm#BABEEAAJ
This manual shows the usage and a sample file..
Good luck..

OAS 4.0.8 Error (FRM-99999,Registry.dat is missing
Hi
I installed OAS 4.0.8 on NT 4 SP5 and then configured. I ran all
the services manually using command prompt and no error was
detected, but when I tried to access my Developer 6 Forms files
through browser, I got this Error after the Splash Screen was
displayed :
FRM-9999:<hostname>.<domain>/<virtual_path>/oracle/forms/registry
/Registry.Dat is missing
and file Registry.Dat is exist in this directory,
E:\orant\forms60\java\oracle\forms\registry\
Please advice me, I really appreciate.
Thanks in advance.
nullOur users were experiencing this problem. It was related to the proxy exception list that our web browsers were using.
In IE6, Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > Advanced (Proxy Server Settings) > Exceptions (bottom of screen).
Ensure that these are set correctly, the browser may be trying to look out on the internet for the URL your web deployed application is running on, as it is not in your proxy exception list.
I'd be interested in knowing if this resolves the issue for you, it's worked for us.

Multiple-node WebCenter Spaces config with default file-based policy
hi,
My customer will use web center 11g on multiple linux server, I noticed there is a comment in wc doc like this:
=========================================
The default file-based policy store can only be used for single-node WebCenter Spaces configurations. For multi-node configurations, you must reassociate the policy and credential store with an external LDAP-based store (such as Oracle Internet Directory) as described in Section 23.4, "Configuring the Policy and Credential Store."
The policy store can be configured to use Oracle Internet Directory 11gR1 and 10.1.4.3, and OVD 11gR1 with the Local Store Adapter (LSA).
The identity store can be configured to use the following LDAP servers:
Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 11gR1 and 10.1.4.3
Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) 11gR1 and 10.1.4
Sun iPlanet version 4.1.3
Active Directory shipped as part of Windows 2000
Open LDAP version 2.0.7
Novell NDS version 8.5.1
========================================
My customer only has AD, they don't have budget to buy oid at this time, according to the statement "The policy store can be configured to use Oracle Internet Directory 11gR1 and 10.1.4.3, and OVD 11gR1 with the Local Store Adapter (LSA).", does that mean the wc policy store can not use other ldap such as ad in multiple-node wc configuration?
If performance is not an issue, can I use default file-based policy store in this case?
If it's impossible for the customer to buy oid at this time, what's the possible solution?
Thanks a lot!
RegardsYou can configure directly with AD.
Basically your WebLogic server needs to be configured to talk to AD. You can configure an Identity provider in Weblogic server which uses AD as LDAP.
This should work in multi-node environment.
Also, i do not see any reason why file based jazn-data should not work.
Best solution from my perspective if Weblogic AD configuration does not work:
Create and manage your users and roles in Weblogic embedded LDAP. All you have to change in your application is the realm to the name of weblogic realm(default is myrealm) and while deploying make sure you uncheck the create users and roles.

OAS 10.1.3 isn't detecting /WEB-INF/lib jar files within WAR file
Hello,
I have been developing and testing a simple non-EJB web application on Tomcat 5.5 with no class loading difficulties for the past several months. All of the needed JARs for my app are located under the WEB-INF/lib directory. My next task is to deploy the WAR file containing my webapp on the Oracle 10g (10.1.3) application server.
The problem I am having when trying to do this is that when I deploy the WAR file from Oracle Enterprise Manager, the WAR file will expand correctly but at runtime OAS doesn't appear to be detecting the JAR files in the WEB-INF/lib folder of my WAR file. I have confirmed that the JAR files are indeed being expanded in the directory that OC4J expands the WAR file into:
appserver/j2ee/home/applications/appEARFile/MyWebApp/WEB-INF/lib.
But when I run the application, from the Firefox browser I immediately get the following 500 Internal Server Error:
"Servlet error: Error instantiating servlet 'reports'. Servlet class org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet not found in web-application MyWebApp"
(The IE browser just gives me the 500 error without additional elaboration.)
But my spring.jar where that class is located is in the WEB-INF/lib directory. Does anyone have an idea what the solution is--how can I get OC4J to read the spring.jar (or any jar) in that lib folder? (Or is there a way I can configure logging to better pinpoint the problem if that isn't it?)
Thanks,
GlenGlen,
You said:

additional elaborationTry unsetting the "Show friendly HTTP error
messages".
From the "Tools" menu of Microsoft Internet Explorer,
choose "Internet Options".
(You should then see another window entitled
"Internet Properties" displayed.)
Select the "Advanced" tab and search for "Show
friendly HTTP error messages".
Excellent--that worked. Thanks! I was afraid that I would have to be debugging on Firefox exclusively.
I also suggest setting the
"search-local-classes-first" attribute, of the
"web-app-class-loader" element, in your
"orion-web.xml" file to 'true' (if it isn't
already).
That did it. My orion-web.xml file was of the old DTD-based version, I believe that was causing the problem.
The following document:

has a chapter (3) entitled Utilizing the OC4J

Thanks for the link, I went through it thoroughly in trying to fix my problem.

After installing WebCenter JPS-06514: Opening of file based keystore failed
SOLVED: Customer was using WebLogic 12c which is not supported. Oracle Fusion Middleware 11.1.1.6.0 is certified with WebLogic Server and 10.3.5 and 10.3.6.
Folks,
Installed and verified WebLogic, created a domain and a test managed server. Everything came up OK including the console. Then wiped the domain and installed WebCenter 11g.
Specified HTTP (not SSL) for all ports. However, I get the JPS-06514 error now when trying to start the admin server. Have followed the online advice, such as deleting cwallet.sso and allowing it to be recreated, chmod 777 cwallet.sso... no change. No more info from setting the debug flag, -Djava.security.debug=jpspolicy.
Thoughts?
Please advise.
Thanks,
Robert

Preconfigured OC4J vs OAS 10g R3 for WebCenter
I discovered that all the example WSRP portlets that are contained in the preconfigured OC4J in JDeveloper, are not contained in OAS 10gR3.
Is there way to get all the ear files to deploy them on OAS?
Or any other solution?Steve,
The sample portlets are deployed to the Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.2, indeed. You can access the producer test page through:
http://<host>:<port>/portletapp/infofor example:
http://my.host.com:7778/portletapp/infoThe portlets are deployed to the OC4J_WebCenter instance.
If you're interested in deploying the app separately, you find more information on the PDK downloads page on OTN.
Hope this helps,

JDev 10.1.3.3 and WebCenter - Error running WSRP Standalone Portlet
Hello: I am working with JDev 10.1.3.3 w/ the WebCenter extension on my WinXP PC. I have viewed the WebCenter How-To Demos (http://www.oracle.com/products/middleware/webcenter.html) and am replicating them in JDev. All is working except for the last in the Veeva Vacation demos (Building & Deploying Standards-Based Portlets). I followed the demo and successfully (so I thought) created an entry point, deployed the standalone portlet and registered the portlet producer. I dragged the VeevaProducer to the JSF page. Then with my Preconfigured OC4J running I tried to run the jspx page. Instead of seeing the application page, an error page appeared "Error instantiating web-application".
The first error description is:
"Error compiling :C:\Oracle\jdev10133\jdev\Veeva\ViewController\public_html: Syntax error in source or compilation failed in: C:\Oracle\jdev10133\jdev\system\oracle.j2ee.10.1.3.41.57\embedded-oc4j\application-deployments\current-workspace-app\Project1\oracle\portlet\wsrp\v2\soap\UnsupportedLocale.java C:\Oracle\jdev10133\jdev\system\oracle.j2ee.10.1.3.41.57\embedded-oc4j\application-deployments\current-workspace-app\Project1\oasis\names\tc\wsrp\v1\bind\runtime\WSRP_v1_PortletManagement_Binding_SOAP_Stub.java:35: error #300: WSRP_v1_PortletManagement_PortType not found in class oasis.names.tc.wsrp.v1.bind.runtime.WSRP_v1_PortletManagement_Binding_SOAP_Stub
implements oracle.portlet.wsrp.v1.soap.WSRP_v1_PortletManagement_PortType { "
I don't know what that means! Your help will be appreciated.
Thanks.You can create EAR/WAR file from JDeveloper and then use the OC4J 10.1.2 managment console to deploy them to the server, there is no one-click-deploy support from JDev 10.1.3 to OC4J stand-alone 10.1.2

Hi,
I am new to ADF and my company is also new to ADF. We are doing how it coudl help us in acclerating the development of custom screens on top of OTM 5.5
I am using OAS 10.1.3. I am getting org/apache/log4j/Category error at the time of deployment causing road block. Plz help...
Below are the steps I followed
1. Stopped OAS
2. Install ADF Installer 10.1.3.5 by extracting files, changing adfinstaller.properties, and running java -jar runinstaller.jar adfinstaller.properties
3. Started OAS
4. OAS never started up as server.xml had an new entry
<application name="datatags" path="../../../BC4J/redist/datatags.ear" start="true" />
<import-shared-library name="oracle.ws.jaxrpc"/>
5. datatags directory was malformed in the sense META-INF/application.xml and other .xml file was not created at all.
6. Since ADF requires only libraries to be available, I removed this 2 enteries and started up the OAS.
7. Started the OAS
8. Copied files from
[$Jdeveloper Home]\jakarta-taglibs
to
[$OC4J Home]\BC4J\lib
the files are:
commons-digester.jar
commons-logging.jar
commons-collections.jar
9. Download and copy apache-log4j-1.2.15 (log4j-1.2.15.jar) to [$OC4J Home]\BC4J\lib
10. I created a simpel ADF Helloworld page.
11.Created a deployment discriptor orion-application and added the following enteries
<imported-shared-libraries>
<remove-inherited name="apache.commons.logging"></remove-inherited>
</imported-shared-libraries>
12. I right clicked on my UserInterface ->New-> Deployment profile -> Created a WAR file
13. Right click the WAR file and deployed to the OAS
14. I got the following deployment error

OAS 4.0.8 & Developer Server 6.0
Hi,
I 've installed on WindowsNT Workstation 4.0/SP5
1.) Developer Server Rel.6.0
2.) OAS 4.0.8.0.0
When I open a HTML file which has a reference to Forms executable (.fmx)
I get the Oracle Developer Server logo and nothing happens. Java console shows the following error messages:
com.ms.security.SecurityExceptionEx[oracle/forms/engine/Main.init]: cannot access file C:\WINNT\Java\.hotjava
at com/ms/security/permissions/FileIOPermission.check
Error getting package information: sun/applet

I had this working in OAS 4.0.7. but not in 4.0.8.
Can anyone tell me why it is trying to access C:\WINNT\Java\.hotjava?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.
nullNever mind. I found the problem.
The above error message occurs when

Trouble forwarding request from a servlet to a JSP in OAS 4.0.8.1 on NT
The OJSP release notes state that:
"Servlets and JSP cannot coexist as the same application" and "Requests cannot be passed between two separate applications."
Does this mean that my attempts to use the
the servlet RequestDispatcher to forward a request to a JSP are futile? If so, is this a problem that will be fixed in the future? I would like to use this feature!
This is the code (based on a sample from Sun's JSWDK 1.0.1) that doesn't work:
servletToJsp.java
import javax.servlet.*;
import javax.servlet.http.*;
public class servletToJsp extends HttpServlet {
public void doGet (HttpServletRequest request,
HttpServletResponse response) {
try {
getServletConfig().getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("/jsp/jsptoserv/hello.jsp").forward(request, response);
} catch (Exception ex) {
ex.printStackTrace ();
I am able to use the <jsp:forward page="/servlets/servletToJsp" /> directive to go from a JSP page to a servlet (across two OAS Applications) and I also can forward a request via the dispatcher from one servlet to another in the same OAS application.
Any help in this area would be appreciated. Thanks.I'm using OAS 4.0.8.1
You mean servlet to JSP does not work and JSP to servlet works for you????Yes - but I've only tried very simply examples.
That's different from my understanding. If you are using OAS 4081, both cases should not work.
The problem you mentioned will be fixed in future release of OAS.That's good to know - thanks!

We are upgrading OAS 9.0.4.2 with BI & Forms to OAS 10.1.2x / Portal 10.1.4 under Sun Solaris 9 (SPARC 64) and there is some confusion about Note:416942.1: sounds like we need to upgrade to terminal release 9.0.4.3 before migration. There are some notes about applying 10.1.2.2.0 patch set to 10.1.2.0.x installation. It comes from one of my SRs that Oracle is planning patch set 3 for OAS 10g r2 for this summer. Does anybody have a tested sequence of patches for SPARC to go from 9.0.4.2 to OAS 10.1.2x / Portal 10.1.4?

Hello,
installed webcenter 11.1.1.5 and UCM 11g on windows 7 machine. also have UCM server running locally, have weblogic running. have also installed MDS.
I create a webcenter portal page - AboutUs and then use content presenter to drag about.htm from UCM on the AboutUs jspx at run time. the content is displayed. i go to ctrl shift c contribution mode and then at runtime try change the content and then save close.
Next time when I rerun this page, we lose runtime customizations when we rerun the portal. why ?
shouldnt my first time customization get saved in MDS, so that even next time I rerun the page, I get to see the modified content (in other words the content shoule not disapper ) ???
anyways, what to do that content along with changes made in previous run will show up even after second rerun ??this link is applicable when i created am playing with embedded weblogic/webcenter of Jdeveloper (which is file based).
BUT I am having a full blown standalone weblogic running and also full blown standalone webcenter running. I am deploying application on these standalone servers. now how do i preserve the customizations on rerun on these standalones ? I have MDS setup in database. -
Doing Login to WebCenter Spaces after Fresh Install Hangs [ID 976907.1]
hi
i have an issue with webcenter spaces ,i searched oracle documentation and found a description and a solution but it is still not working .
i have oracle webcenter 11.1.1.5 ,installed on oracle Linux Enterprise 5.5 ,installation is made with 3 physical nodes joined to one domain as described on oracle documentation (ID
the solution is described on document [ID 976907.1]
Applies to:
Oracle WebCenter - Version: 11.1.1.1.0 to 11.1.1.5.0 - Release: 11g to 11g
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
On : WebCenter Spaces.
When attempting to login to WebCenter Spaces, the login hangs.
The WebCenter Spaces diagnostic log (WLS_Spaces_diagnostic.log) shows the following error at the time of login:
[2009-12-07T10:59:04.645-08:00] [WLS_Spaces] [ERROR] [] [oracle.webcenter.webcenterapp.internal.view.webapp] [tid: [ACTIVE].ExecuteThread: '2' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'] [userId: weblogic] [ecid: 0000ILeW_Ss2bMK5qVh8iY1B7KwH00000F,0] [APP: webcenter] [[

at oracle.webcenter.webcenterapp.internal.view.security.WCAuthorizationHandler.handleAuthorizationFailure
(WCAuthorizationHandler.java:62)
STEPS
The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
1. Install of WebCenter.
2. Start the Node Manager and Managed Servers.
3. Access WebCenter Spaces URL:
http://server:8888/webcenter/spaces
4. Attempt to login as weblogic user.
Here the login hangs.
Cause
The domain system-jazn-data.xml file is missing all the security information for WebCenter.
The file should have entries like this:
<policy-store>
<applications>
<application>
<name>webcenter</name>
<app-roles>
<app-role>
<name>s8bba98ff_4cbb_40b8_beee_296c916a23ed#-#Administrator</name>
<guid>A03A67D1E43711DEBF8B15EA0015534D</guid>
<class>oracle.security.jps.service.policystore.ApplicationRole</class>
<members>
<member>
<class>weblogic.security.principal.WLSUserImpl</class>
<name>weblogic</name>
</member>
</members>
But in this case the file is missing the security entries for WebCenter like the above.
Reviewing more entries in the WebCenter Spaces diagnostic log (WLS_Spaces_diagnostic.log) there was another error in the log that indicated file permission errors:
[2009-12-07T10:53:15.966-08:00] [WLS_Spaces] [WARNING] [JPS-04085] [oracle.jps.deployment] [tid: [ACTIVE].ExecuteThread: '0' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'] [ecid: 0000ILeVDiF2bMK5qVh8iY1B7KwH000000,0] [APP: webcenter] [arg: oracle.security.jps.JpsRuntimeException: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /tmp/jazn-data-577128801xml.lck (Permission denied)] Migration of codebase policy failed. Reason: oracle.security.jps.JpsRuntimeException: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /tmp/jazn-data-577128801xml.lck (Permission denied).
While checking the permissions on the /tmp/jazn-data-577128801xml.lck file it was noted that it was owned by root user and oracle user did not have permissions on the file.
Solution
1. Shutdown the Node Manager and Managed Servers.
2. Change the ownership of the temporary file in /tmp directory to be owned by the user that was used to install WebCenter and that is being used to start WebCenter:
In this case the file name is: /tmp/jazn-data-577128801xml.lck
But in your system the name can be different. But the name should be like:
/tmp/jazn-data-NNNNNNNNNxml.lck
3. Ensure the user that was used to install WebCenter has privileges to read, write, and update the above file.
If needed give grants on the file to the user that was used to install WebCenter.
4. Restart WebCenter.
5. Re-Test the issue.
the problem is that i applied the solution but it is not working with me .if i grant (oracle) user which is used to install webcenter a privilege on /tmp/ folder,after restart everything become a in a big mass , that's because there is some files which belongs to root and mustn't be granted to oracle (this is as i understand maybe its wrong) .and if i grant and it is already granted full permission to (oracle) user on the file (jazn-data-NNNNNNNNNxml.lck) it is still not working and XML files is zero size .i do this on webcenter server (host2) and also on soa server (host1) which have admin server .
is there any advise ? am i missing something ? it is really a big problem to me as we suppose to go live next week !!!Joel, in a different posting was able to help me out.
Below is the steps I used to create a new admin account to by pass the one that seemed to be bad. Everything seems to be working for me now. Thanks for your help.
alter user FLOWS_020200 account unlock;
connect FLOWS_020200/apex
begin
wwv_flow_api.set_security_group_id(p_security_group_id=>10);
wwv_flow_fnd_user_api.create_fnd_user(

end;

directory, and a file names ifwcm60.dll under \extras\sp4
directory of the developer6 but I don't know what to do with
them.
Thanks
