OAS 10.1.3.5 on Windows 64 bit, NO CPU patch for April?

After reading the CPU Advisory for April CPU 2011, it appears that for OAS 10.1.3.5 on Windows 64 bit, that there is NO CPU patch for April? It only shows a patch for Windows 32 bit. They do not mean that the 32 bit patch should also be applied on 64 bit Windows o/s having OAS 10.1.3.5? I just want to make sure I skip this CPU since I have 64 bit o/s.
I ask because the list of bugs fixed in the README for the 32 bit patch list 32 bit bug fixes , and then 64 bit bug fixes.

Somu, please check a topic 3 lines below. No, there's not a separate 64-bit installer, but there's a work-around albeit not supported by oracle.

  • CPU patch for windows

    Hi ,
Is the oracle CPU patchs released separately for windows platform (like how they release it for UNIX flavours ).... or is it only Bundle patches for windows . I did some metalink search and google search and my understaing is there is no CPU patches for windows ... we may need to use only Bundle patches for windows platfrom . If so , does Bundle patch include CPU patches ?

    Hi;
You need to check below link and you need to find patch number from notes and you need to check patch from metalink. If the patch is not avaliable for Windows platform than you need to rise SR and get patch from support

  • Current Patches for Windows (32bit) 9.2.0.8

We have recently upgraded to Windows 32-bit Oracle 9.2.0.8.  Note 539921  lists the patchset for Windows 32-bit as follows:
    NT_I386 32-bit
    /Oracle/Oracle 32-Bit/Oracle 9.2.0. 32-Bit/Oracle 9.2.0.8. 32-bit/
    NT_I386/Patchset_9208_WINNT.zip
The patch set is installed with the runInstaller - see README.html
For more information about installing patch sets, see Note 578683.
*In addition, use opatch to install patch 12 for 9.2.0.8.
    /Oracle/Oracle 32-Bit/Oracle 9.2.0. 32-Bit/Oracle 9.2.0.8. 32-bit/
    NT_I386/9208_Patch12_WINNT.zip*
So, after an upgrade to Windows 32-bit 9.2.0.8 you should then immediately apply patch 12?  The problem is reading note 1107601 - CPU Patches October 2007 (Oracle Critical Update Program)
    states the following:
*The CPU patches are not a patch set, but rather a collection of patches. If
there is a critical problem, you may have to install a separate fix, which
conflicts with the CPU patch. In this case, you must uninstall the CPU
    patch.*
But there is nothing specific for 9.2.0.8 (it implies there are no conflicts for 9.2.0.8):
For Oracle 9.2.0.7, note the following:
Unfortunately, the CPU patches for Oracle 9.2.0.7 conflict with patches
that have already been installed and that are important for an SAP system.
Therefore, there will be no further release of the patches for Oracle
9.2.0.7. *We therefore recommend that you upgrade the database to Oracle
9.2.0.8 and use the CPU patches for Oracle 9.2.0.8 instead.*
So I'm assuming that after installing patchset 9.2.0.8 for Windows 32-bit I should apply patch 12 (which is CPU October 2007).  There are some patches listed under "Oracle Other" that seem to be generic patches listed under the download section for oracle 9.2.0.8.  Do these patches cause a conflict with patch 12?  I haven't seen a note that says to install them.
I haven't found a note that says to install anything other than patchset 9.2.0.8 and then patch 12.  Is this right?  I need to find out pretty quick so any help  is appreciated!

    Hi,
do following as of note 539921
    first apply patch set 9.2.0.8
    /Oracle/Oracle 32-Bit/Oracle 9.2.0. 32-Bit/Oracle 9.2.0.8. 32-bit/
                                            NT_I386/Patchset_9208_WINNT.zip
than apply cpupatch CPUOct2007 patch 12 for  9.2.0.8  if you found critical problem with CPU it's optional
use opatch to install patch 12 for 9.2.0.8.
         /Oracle/Oracle 32-Bit/Oracle 9.2.0. 32-Bit/Oracle 9.2.0.8. 32-bit/
                                              NT_I386/9208_Patch12_WINNT.zip

  • Any hope of getting 64 bit twain plug in for Windows 64 bit Photoshop

Just what the title sez: any hope of getting 64 bit twain plug in for Windows 64 bit Photoshop? Frustrating to upgrade and have to do a work around to use your scanner. Will Adobe release this?

    Chris,
I have a CanoScan 8800F plus CS5, both 32-bit and 64-bit versions installed. When I scan four slides in a holder, the 32-bit TWAIN driver/plugin gives me four images of one slide each. The 64-bit WIA driver/plugin gives me one image of the slide holder, with the four slides in it. Is this a limitation of the WIA technique in general or the particular WIA driver for my CanoScan?
    Best regards,

  • Deskjet 710/720/810/820/1000 Series printers - Patch for 64 bit Vista and Windows 7

There is an issue with the 64 bit Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 or 8.1 drivers that causes the spooler to crash with the following HP Deskjet printers:
    Deskjet 710
    Deskjet 712
    Deskjet 720
    Deskjet 722
    Deskjet 810
    Deskjet 812
    Deskjet 820
    Deskjet 822
    Deskjet 1000
The attached file contains a patch for this issue for Vista and Windows 7.
[The patch does not currently work for Windows 8 or 8.1 x64 systems.  There are some efforts to address this, if a solution is developed it will be posted here.  {Edit - I have not made any progress in getting the patch to work in Windows 8 x64.}]
First make sure the driver for the printer is installed.  If the driver has not been installed go to Start, Devices and Printers, Add a Printer, Local Printer, choose the proper port (for USB-Parallel converters the port will likely be USB001: or perhaps USB002: ), Next, click Windows Update then choose HP for the manufacturer and select the appropriate printer.
Apply the patch as follows: Log into the computer with an administrative account.  Download the patch by clicking on this link or on the paper clip at the end of this post.  Save the patch file to your computer, then unzip it.  Next copy the three DLL files to the following directory:  %windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3
Note that %windir% is a system variable that points to the location of the Windows directory. For most systems this will be C:\Windows.  You can click Start, Computer and type %windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 in the address bar and it will find the right place.
This can be done from a DOS prompt if DOS is opened with the "run as administrator" command, or from explorer with a copy and paste.  Depending on your UAC settings you may need to provide confirmation.  Also allow the current files to be overwritten if prompted.
This patch is not required and should not applied to a 32 bit version of Vista or Windows 7.
Thanks to extraordinary Microsoft engineer Alan Morris for guidance for the patch.
Update - the following are more detailed installation instructions:
Download the patch from here. Now click on the file and open it, then extract the patch to some directory that is easy to find. (I use c:\temp. If this directory does not exist you can create it as follows: open the administrative DOS prompt by clicking on Start, All Programs, Accessories, then right click on CMD.EXE and select Run as Administrator. Click in the DOS box then type the following:
    MD c:\temp
    CD \temp
Now extract the patch files into the c:\temp directory (extract all, chose c:\temp as the destination).
[Update - Windows security settings may prevent these files from being used, please open Computer, type c:\temp in the address bar and then right click on each of the dll files and select Properties.  If there is a message in Properties indicating the file was downloaded from the internet and may be blocked then unblock the file before proceeding.]
Next click back in the administrative DOS prompt and type the following: (stuff in green is comments, do not type them...)
DIR *.dll (this is just to verify the files are there, it should list hpvdb720.dll, hpvdb820.dll and hpwm5db1.dll and perhaps others.)
Net stop spooler (makes sure the files are not in use.)
Copy  hpvdb720.dll  C:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 (this is for the Deskjet 710/712/720/722)
Copy  hpvdb820.dll  c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 (this covers the Deskjet 820 and 822)
    Copy  hpwm5db1.dll  c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3(this covers the Deskjet 1000)
    Net Start Spooler
    Exit
[Edit - note that these DLL files will already be in the directory.  You will get a warning asking if it is OK to overwrite the files, say "yes".]
At this point the patch is installed and ready to print.
Note that the printers here do not support USB connections, they have only parallel ports. [Edit - if your printer does have a parallel port use it, this will likely be much less problematic than using a USB-Parallel converter.]   If you use a USB-parallel converter make sure it is supported in your operating system.  The following posts are flagged with USB-parallel cables that are reported to work in Windows 7.   A driver is required for the USB-parallel converter in addition to the driver for the printer.  For supported converters this is typically supplied automatically in Windows 7.  Note:  the proper port to select for the USB-Parallel converters is often USB001:.  I have heard of some cases where the port was USB002: or LPT3: as well.  If the port you are using does not succeed (after applying the patch) try changing the port by going to Start, Devices and Printers, right click on your printer and select Printer Properties, then click on the Ports tab.

Just want to send a thanks.  Purchased a new HP computer with 64 bit Windows 7 and haven't been able to get my 722c to work. This patch worked like a charm!

  • HT204406 Please help!  I have downloaded the 64 bit version of iTunes for my Sony running WIndows 8.  I have iTunes running on 3 other machines (MACs) with no issue.  On the Sony with WIndowns everytime I turn on ITunes Match WIndows fails, everything shu

I Have downloaded the 64 bit version of iTunes for my Sony running Windows 8.  Install went fine and I can get in to iTunes and see the music residing on this machine.  However, everytime that I try to run iTunes Match Windows crashes.  So frustrating.  BTW, this worked fine until a couple of weeks ago.  Anyone know what's going on?

How big is your library?  I would recommend the following troubleshooting steps:
    - Backup your library.  Always a good idea before messing with things.
    - Create a new library.   Refer to this article for details:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1589.  This won't delete your old library, you're just creating a new empty one.  Also refer to this article to get back to your old library later.
    - Add a few albums into this new library.  Not everything, just a small sampling, as a test.
    - Activate Match on this new library.  You shouldn't have to re-pay, it should just say "Add Computer" or similar.
    - At this point, Match should run again. With just a few albums it should complete in just a few minutes.
If iTunes doesn't crash at this point, then likely there's something about your original library that Match doesn't like - what that is I don't know, but at least you'll know it's not your PC.   If iTunes still crashes, then if could be a number of other things, but probably not your library.   My next suggestion (if you haven't already done this) is to uninstall / reinstall iTunes.   If that doesn't work, then my next ideas you won't like.

  • 64-bit version of Quicktime for Windows

I'm running 64-bit version of Windows 7 via bootcamp.  I'm running 64-bit version of Microsoft Office 2010.  I have the latest version of Quicktime installed 7.7.3 something.  I can play the file on the desktop no problem, but when I try to insert the file into Powerpoint or play a file that I inserted previously into Powerpoint on a different system, it says either Quicktime unavailable or you need a 64-bit version of Quicktime in order to insert the file.
So, exactly where is a 64-bit version of Quicktime for Windows because apparently the one on the Apple website for Windows is not 64-bit.  Everyone keeps saying download the 64-bit version of Quicktime.  Great, tell me where it is.  There is no option for 64-bit on the website.  It doesn't even say it is 64-bit.  It just says its compatible with Windows 7.  Powerpoint 2010 64-bit MUST have a 64-bit version of Quicktime in order to insert or play any Quicktime file.  The OS doesn't give a rats @ss one way or the other.
The file I previously inserted was playing on a system that apparently had a 32-bit version of Powerpoint installed.  That machine defaults to VLC player on the desktop.  It has no issues with the file.  It's the Quicktime Player mismatch on my machine that is giving me grief.  If I knew Office was going to be a PITA if I installed the 64-bit version I would have stuck with the 32-bit version.
Ideas?  Where is the 64-bit version?  How do you tell it is 64-bit?  How do you force the installer to make sure it ONLY installs a 64-bit version of it?

If Microsoft merely off their own decided that only a 64-bit version of QuickTime was going to be supported by them and did not both checking such a beast existed then this is perfectly believable behavior on the part of Microsoft and they should roast in **** for it.
If Apple led Microsoft to believe that a 64-bit version of QuickTime was going to be released like a 64-bit version of iTunes for Windows has been released but then backed out then this is equally believeable behaviour on the part of Apple and then equally the guilty parties at Apple should roast in ****.
It should be noted that the 64-bit version of iTunes is able to play videos via the 32-bit version of QuickTime. This suggests Microsoft programmers are weak with the force. This would tend to support my theory that Microsoft despite being the biggest software company in the world are better at making hardware than software.
Moving on to trying to be more constructive…
Clearly as things stand using the existing and only official version of QuickTime for Windows which is 32-bit only is not going to work in 64-bit Office. It might therefore be worth looking at trying the following.
Uninstall completely Apple's 32-bit QuickTime for Windows (if installed currently)
Install QuickTime Alternative - see http://www.free-codecs.com/download/QuickTime_Alternative.htm
I have no idea if QuickTime Alternative is 64-bit, I have no idea if it will work in 64-bit Office even if it is 64-bit. However it does work in Internet Explorer for Windows, it is free and therefore will cost you nothing to try. If it does not work you can then always uninstall it.
As another even more abtruse solution, you could try loading your PowerPoint file in to the free iWorks i.e. KeyNote via a free iCloud account. It will allow importing PowerPoint files and will even work in Internet Explorer.

  • Windows 8.1, iOS 8.1.3, Itunes 12.1 64 bit, constantly get 'waiting for changes to apply' when trying to sync my new ipod touch

Windows 8.1, iOS 8.1.3, Itunes 12.1 64 bit, constantly get 'waiting for changes to apply' when trying to sync my new ipod touch. Downloaded latest version f itunes, and ipod software up to date. Really frustrated I can't sync my music! Please can someone help me

Im having huge issues after updating to 12.1 on Win 8.1  x64. Choppy playback and so on.
Try this since it helps in most situtation :
Remove itunes but keep library files. Then download it again and install it.
Also most likely you will have to restore ipod touch. I restored my iPhone 5 to remove waiting for changes to apply and Error 54.
my iPad air still isnt restored (cant do it now) and it sometimes does same like iPhone waiting for changes to apply. And gives error 54 but sync DOES GET COMPLETED.
Also may sound stupid but try to use USB 2.0 Ports. Not 3.0. I have troubles when using 3.0

  • When will Apple develop a 64 bit version of Safari for Windows?

I've been using this browser for a while now and absolutely love it!
Features that stand out from the crowd are:
    Apples unique font smoothing technology.
Best colour management available on any browser.
    Speed.
    Excellent web standards coverage.
Most of the competitors are now developing 64 bit versions in preparation for the release of 64 bit Flash and Silverlight. Apple cites improvements for it's Mac OS version 64bit vs the 32 bit. If development isn't in the works then it should be for Windows!

  • Central Output Server View Manager on Windows 7, need patch for jfPreview.exe

Where can I obtain the latest version of JfPreView.exe?
    According to the following webpage:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/legacy/kb/central-central-pro-output-server-1.html
Adobe Central and Central Pro Output Server 5.7, Windows support extended to Windows 7 (32/64 bit) and Windows Server 2008 R2 (64 bit)
Issue 2 on this page is the problem that I am having:
    Issue 2
View manager is a client application for Central Pro. When it is installed on Windows 7 (32/64 bit) and Windows Server 2008 (64 bit), it doesn't work properly.
For Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008R2, IPv6 is installed and enabled by default. On a machine running the Central Preview Agent with IPv4 protocol, the Preview Agent fails to transfer the files. The Preview Agent also reports the following error in the jfserver.log.
“Fails. Exception:  [1005] Connect to <host> failed: 10060”
    Solution
A patch for JfPreView.exe.exe is available from Adobe enterprise support to address this issue.
    I need this patch.
    Thank you

I have loaded KB2937636 to the server2012 wsus/sup but that still did not fix the communication issue.  I have since removed the KB2937636 from the 2012 server, because when the KB2937636 is installed on the sup server once the 7.6.7600.256 computers
communicate with the server the WUA 7.6.7600.320 gets installed on the clients and then they stop communicating.  Very Frustrating!
Please any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    ~ZbWinMan
I have attached my WindowsUpdate.log file.  When I used CMTrace.exe you can clearly see that the computer talks fine at the beginning, then I installed WUA 7.6.7600.320 and All Communication breaks, then I uninstall to get back to 7.6.7600.256 and communication
    works again.
If I uninstall 7.6.7600.320 then the computer communicates back to the SUP server.

  • Windows Update installed the drivers for the wrong sound card?

I need serious help with this one.
It all started October 31st when I find that Windows Update lists an update for my sound card - a Sound Blaster Li've! 24bit internal card. I install it, reboot, and realize that my sound is not coming through the speakers (Note, sound was working before I installed this update. I'm not even sure if the sound card is processing to it). I realized that Windows Update seemed to have installed the drivers for the wrong sound card. It installed drivers for "SB Audigy" (it was originally SB Li've!), why they chose to be so generic - I don't know. I later find out that not even Creative's website has this updated driver, but apparently, only Windows Update is issuing this out.
But wait, it gets even more frustrating.
So I don't have System Restore enabled (big resource hog), and I need to go back to the older drivers. I originally do a driver rollback using the Device Manager, which made the drivers go back to what they were before - but still wasn't outputting sound. I think even though the older drivers were being used by Windows, the software that Creative issued wasn't picking up this fact and thought I still using the newer ones for Audigy. So I decided to uninstall everything and start with an actual driver installation executable from Creative's website (SB24_PCDRV_LB__04_0090.exe). What I found out was that if new drivers are detected, I can't actually install over them.
However, if I uninstall the drivers using the Device Manager, it'll automatically install everything - the control panel, the preferences, drivers, etc for the new "SB Audigy" drivers that were issued Oct 3st once I scan for hardware changes. The reason I need to scan for hardware changes is because if I uninstall the drivers from the Device Manager, it'll remove the instance of "SB Audigy" from the list. This causes problems for the installer for the older drivers (SB24_PCDRV_LB__04_0090.exe) because now it thinks there isn't any hardware to install the drivers for (all because I haven't made the Device Manager actually discover my actual sound card, yet unless I press "Scan for Hardware changes" which as a result, will install the newer drivers from Oct 3st automatically. I hope this makes sense so far).
So now I can't uninstall the newer incorrect drivers so I can install the older ones for the actual sound card. Normally I heard that you can change something in the new driver's installation executable to properly uninstall everything. Only problem is, Windows Update doesn't exactly tell you where it's downloading the driver/hardware installation files. I know in the Software Distribution you can find Windows Update stuff downloading there - but I couldn't find the SB Audigy driver update it keeps installing while "scanning for hardware changes" in the Device Manager.
This was incredibly hard to put into detail, so I hope that it makes a little bit of sense. If you need clarification on anything please let me know and I'll do anything to help eliminate the problem. Just remember I have:
    Windows 7 x64
    Sound Blaster Li've! 24bit
I think the only problem I'd like to solve is - how could I install older drivers if Windows keeps installing the newer ones even after I uninstall them? Because right now, I can't do much unless I know how to get rid of the installation files for the Oct 3st update so it won't have anything to use. Another way to rephrase the question is, how could I get the Device Manager in Windows to display my soundcard as "Multimedia Audio Controller" for as long as I need so I can run SB24_PCDRV_LB__04_0090.exe which will then detect that there is a sound card that can use the drivers and install them properly?
Thanks for your help guys, I hope we can solve this. Because I've done everything I could. Hopefully I don't need to reinstall the operating system just so I can have sound working.

Click on Start> ALL Programs > Creative > Creative Audio Console.
Make sure speakers are set to 5. if that's what you're using. I like to Synchronize with Windows Control Panel. Turn EAX to No effects, and/or turn effects to 0%. On the CMSS 3D Tab, turn the Mode to OFF.
