OAS 4.0.8 & Developer Server 6.0

Hi,
I 've installed on WindowsNT Workstation 4.0/SP5
1.) Developer Server Rel.6.0
2.) OAS 4.0.8.0.0
When I open a HTML file which has a reference to Forms executable (.fmx)
I get the Oracle Developer Server logo and nothing happens. Java console shows the following error messages:
com.ms.security.SecurityExceptionEx[oracle/forms/engine/Main.init]: cannot access file C:\WINNT\Java\.hotjava
at com/ms/security/permissions/FileIOPermission.check
Error getting package information: sun/applet
com.ms.packagemanager.PackageManagerException: Package not found.
I had this working in OAS 4.0.7. but not in 4.0.8.
Can anyone tell me why it is trying to access C:\WINNT\Java\.hotjava?
Any help is appreciated.

Never mind. I found the problem.
The above error message occurs when
"security settings have not been configured to allow Java applications in the Intranet Zone to run outside of the Java sandbox".

Hi, I installed first 8i, then in another oracle home (OH) I installed OAS and when I tried to install ODS this fail.
I can4t find the installation manual. I need it.

Install Developer server first as some version of it are not multiple home aware.
Then install the other software.

Developer Server 6.0 hanging when launched from Netscape 4.6

Hi, simple question to ask about OAS and Developer Server.
My Developer Server 6.0 hanging when launched from Netscape 4.61,
I am currently running...
Pentium PII 200Mz running NT sp5
Forms Server version 6.0.5.31.0 (Patch 3 applied)
OAS version 4.0.7.1.0 (Patch applied)
Jinitiator 1.1.7.18
Netscape 4.61 browser
I have all the latest versions of everything that is available,
I have followed the instructions.
I successfully connect to the OAS admin utility and have setup
all the virtual to physical directory mappings under the default
listener www. I successfully start all website OAS services.
I have Forms server successfully started up as a process
listening on port 9000.
I have two statics html files created:
a) with Jinititator 1.1.7.18
The very first time I connected to this static html file it
installed Jinitiator as expected. The Forms server splashscreen
then appears.
Jinitiator then starts up successfully, no errors appear in the
Java console. This has proved I am talking to the listener and
my virtual directory mappings are working.
At this point there is a lot of disk activity and then all
stops, the splashscreen remains and appears in the discussion
area:
FRM-9999 cannot access "koala.ilaco.gov.bo:9000" and
a series of java exceptions
I am pointing to the correct java directories (I think)
b) with out Jinitiator
When I try to call using URL with Netscape 4.61 I get a
message on the status bar saying...
Applet oracle.forms.engine.Main class oracle/forms/engine/Main
got a security violation: Method verification error
Can you help ?
If you know the answer, please let me know as soon as
posible.

I respond your email, with my actual server configuration my

My server configuration is:
Compaq PC, with Pentium II, the software is:
- Windows NT, with Service Pack 5
- Oracle Application Server, v.4.0.7.1.0 Enterprice Edition,

- Developer Server v.6 patchset 3
- My browser in this machine is Netscape 4.61
- Jinitiator 1.1.7.18 is also used.
My developer server is installed and running on the same machine
that OAS is. I am using other browser in other machine (IE5)
and trying to connect to the OAS on the first machine.
My problems begin when I launch ifsrv60.exe. I copied
ifwcm60.dll v.6.0.5.0.2, and other files required in the %
ORACLE_HOME%\bin
I forced listener Developer Server Port (
c:\orant\bin\ifsrv60.exe -listen port=9000 )
Now, I can connect with this process, with the following line:
telnet koala 9000. The listener is working now.
I tried to work with my (NonCartride-static html)forms60 form on
WEB without Jinitiator, but I couldn't.
With Netscape, in the status bar: Applet
oracle.forms.engine.Main can3t stop ERROR
With IE5, I get the splash screen and after the forms is hanged.
If I use Jinitiator:
With Netscape, in the status bar: Oracle Jinitiato: applet
oracle.forms.engine.Main inited then form is hanged.
With IE5, I get the splash screen and after that, the screen
freezes and looks like the form is hanged.
Any further suggestions on this?

(formerly known as Digital Unix)? General Availability was
announced for April 12, 1999, but so far we've heard nothing
about this port. If not available, any ideas when?? Also need
to know whether OAS 4.0.7 or 4.0.8 is available for this
platform. Please advise.

Deploying application to the web with Developer Server

Hi everyone,
Does anyone out there has any notes or step-by-step configuration
guide on deploying application on the web with Developer Server
only (not with OAS)? I know that you can use it with Microsoft
IIS 3.0 or 4.0 (as the web server) but don't know how to set it
up. Appreciate if someone out there could help. Thanks.

Problem:Installing Developer server 6

Hi,
I have installed NT4 with service pack6, Oracle Enterprise 8.0.5, OAS 4.0.7.
And i stop all oracle services.
Mem:128M, 330MHz processor.
The problem is:
When I installing developer server 6, it is automatically logout of the installion. So there are nothing to be installed.

check if your oracle 805 and developer 6i is y2k. it seems that developer 6i will auto-log out if the db is not y2k. i've experienced this similar situation with 805 and i had to roll-back the OS date to go through with the installation. hope this helps!

How to deploy Portal from Development server to Production server ?

I am new to OAS Portal. I have a question :
I am developing the portal in development server, if I want to deploy it into production server, how can I do that ?

Why This Report Not Working in Production Server But in Development Server

Hi ,
This is a sort of performance issue , because your program takes more than the max time set for the program to execute in foreground.
There are many stuff in program which will hamper your performance.
I will list down a few
1. SELECT *
FROM konp
INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE konp_itab
FOR ALL ENTRIES IN a363_itab
WHERE knumh EQ a363_itab-knumh
in this statement you are using for all entries a363_itab , but before this statement you are not checking if the table has any entry or not , please do remember that for all entries has this characterstic , that if you internal table does not contain any record , then all the records are selected from the database table. So in this case if you table a363_itab is empty , so what you want is no data must be seelcted from table konp , but what will happen is all the records in KONP will be seelcted.
2. While retreiving data you are using seelct * even though you do not require all the fields , an example is
SELECT *
FROM mkpf
INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE mkpf_itab
FOR ALL ENTRIES IN mseg_itab
WHERE mblnr EQ mseg_itab-mblnr.
in this your internal table contains only 2 fields
mblnr LIKE mkpf-mblnr, "Number of Material Document
bldat LIKE mkpf-bldat, "Document Date in Document , but to get these 2 fields you are selecting all the fields of the table.
3. In select you are using into corresponding fields of table , it is not a good practice., so please avoidd it.
Please understand that you must try to reduce the access to your database tables and try to keep it minimal , because this same thing may happen becasue data in DEV is very less compared to the volume of data in production , so a program working in DEV will take much more time in PRD if not written properly and may result in timeouts , as in your case.
Please try to make chanegs to the prorgam and see if it works.

This is purely basis issue, you have nothing to do with it.
Forward the same screen shot to your basis people,they will take care.
This happens when some problem in transport layer between servers.

The cover pack on the Oracle Developer Server 6.0 CD shows a product called Developer Server. (Please note that I have another CD called Oracle Developer 6.0 in the suite). However, when I run the installer and look at the products available on the CD, there is no product called Developer Server. The CD only contains Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports etc.
Further, I just tried a typical Development Setup, but it starts the installation and suddenly exits the installer without giving any error message or any other info. Why is the installer ending abruptly? Thinking that it is not a Y2K complaint Installer, I actually tried installing the CD contents from a Y2K complaint Installer but during the installation process, it exits with a message that the Installer need to be installed from the media. This message is displayed although I don't select Oracle Installer as one of the product to be installed.
Has anyone else faced a similar problem? Could some one let me know how to install the Oracle Developer Server 6.0 on NT.

Install Windows using Boot Camp Assistant, or using a VM such as Parallels, Fusion, or VirtualBox. Then install Visual C++ (Visual Studio).

2.DMS uploading from Development server to Production server[GO LIVE]

I think for moving customization request to production, u dont need help of basis, if u have authorization then u can transport the request.
Before moving first identify which are the request number u want to transport and release them using t code SE10 in development server.
Go to production server, execute STMS t code for importing the request from devp server.
Once ur request moved to production successfully then all customization will be available in production system except number ranges and class and characterstics.
If ur using classification system, then create class and characterstics in production system it self.

ORA-01722 on Production Server (without errors on Development Server)

Production Server: Oracle 10.2
I execute a procedure on Development Server and its executed OK but If I execute the procedure on Production Server I receive the error when I want to insert a number field in a table:
ORA-01722: invalid NUMBER. ORA-02063: preceding line FROM DBLINK_RAC
ORA-01722: invalid NUMBER
I have identified the problem. The problem is the decimal separator. If in Production Server I open the file and Replace , with . the procedure runs OK.
BUT I HAVE THE SAME CONTROL PANEL CONFIGURATION ON DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION SERVER, AND I HAVE THE SAME ORACLE NLS PARAMETERS CONFIGURATION TOO.
WHY DOESNT THE PROCEDURE RUN OK ON PRODUCTION SERVER??????????

Answer: Yes the procedure reads an external file with utl_file and then It makes an Insert of each line.
I dont understant what do you want to say with it might be that your development and production data are not in sync..
The procedure is the same!!!! Both have the same code!!!

Trying to order oracle reports developer/server 6i

Does anybody know what's the part number for ordering
Oracle Reports Developer/Server 6i or know where i can get the information? I need Reports builder for NT and Reports Server for Sun Solaris. I've tried to search tru Oracle online store and was not succesfull.

You can find patch 10 from metalink site, click patches button on the left, type in 2356680 for the patch number. (aru ID:1703176 Patchset::2356680)

The simplest way is to use a transport request.
Another possibility is to check for SAPLINK plugins which allow to download table definitions (including data elements and domains) into a flat file. Upload on IDES again via [SAPLINK|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ABAP/SAPlink].
