OAS form services "Deploy Icons" how 2 create Jar file?
hi all!
i have win2000 and 10g oas form services
how 2 execute this command for deploying icon(gif)?

My Application Directory is
D:\myapp\icon
the commad to execute in this directory is
<oracle_home>jdk/bin jar -cvf myappIcon.jar *.gif
HOW TO EXECUTE THIS COMMAND FROM D:\myapp\icon directory?
i try this
D:\myapp\icon cd d:\oracle_home\jdk\bin jar -cvf myappicon.jar *.gif
it gives error
file name ,directory name, volume lable syntax incorrect
Please give me commad example for this

In responce to ur reply what i have done is ..
1- I have add the directory "D:\frs\jdk\bin;" to the PATH variable.. (!it works Dear 422828 thanks 4 this)
2-i have created the .jar file using following command
D:\myapp\icon> jar -cvf myappicon.jar *.gif
This myappicon.jar file was created in D:\myapp\icon directory
then i 'CUT' this myappicon.jar file from here and copy to the
D:\frs\forms90\java directory
3-then i stop all component in oas10g(form and services) AS control page
4- then i open formsweb.cfg and edit this as following..
[myApp]
â¦
archive_jini=f90all_jini.jar,myAppIcons.jar
imagebase=codebase
and save it.
5-then i start all component in oas10g(form and services) AS control page
6-then i edit my form's button's icon name property
some button to "save" and some button to "save.gif"
7- then i start the form by giving the following URL in the Browser
http;\\mymachine.com:7778/forms90/f90servlet?config=myapp
then the browser show this message
"java.lang.classNotFoundExcption:oracle.forms.engine.Main"
Note! i have tried "Entering The Fast Lane" in ur white paper
Now what i should do or what are the error or what i missed please mention or guide me
Now should i try the "BEST PRACTICES" on ur white paper?

How to deploy a bunch of jar files
All,
I am just after downloading iPlanet App Server and have been trying to find information on how to deploy a bunch of packaged jar files.
Basically if anyone can help it would be great, my problem is that I have a number of jar files that make up an application that I developed a while ago, I was using the 9ias app server but have decided to try out the iPlanet app server. Now what I need to know is how do I put the jar files onto the server for deployment???I had a look at the deployment tool but it would not allow me to deploy any of my jar files????Also a couple of the jar files I want to put into the class path, so where is that?
Any help would be fantastic

Jthe first thing, that I suppose you know, is that iPlanet needs an extra xml file. If your jars have this exta xml file , the only thing is to use the iasdeploy command line to deploy your jars fles

How to change the icon of the jar file w/o changing the windows setting
I may be in wrong forum/area but I am not sure.
I have created a windows executable jar file. Functionally it works fine. I can double click it to start my app. I want to change the icon of the jar file. I know I can change the icon for .jar extension in windows, but I want to be able to give a seperate icon for just this one file.
All windows applications have thier own icon like Word, Excel etc. Is there any way I can do this for java apps? Also could this icon be kept consistent across platform say if I copy my app to linux? (Assuming it is not made for any particular os.)

Thanks in advance.AFAIK you cannot specify an icon for a jar file. You can, however, specify an icon for a Frame using the setIconImage() method. This will have the effect of showing the icon in the taskbar for instance.

How should I create JAR file which contain JMF library and project classes
Hi,
I installed the JMF windows pack. I compiled and ran successfully myApplet (which use JMF librarie) in Internet Explorer on my machine. When I run this applet on some different machine, where JMF isn�t installed- it�s not running.
There is an error:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/media/ControllerListener
I was trying to create jar file, which contain librarie JMF.jar and all other files which are require to run myApplet (*.jar, *.class, the files from folder �MyApplet�) and run it on the other computer. It still doesn�t work.
Also I ran a JMF Customizer and created customize.jar but this file contains only JMF classes. I don�t know how add other files to it.
How should I create a jar file which will contains all essential files to run myApplet on other machine (something like �All In One� J )
I�m using Eclipse.
Can somebody help me?.

So you need a an application server (like Tomcat or Jboss) to execute your jsp files.
you can create the .war file of your simple jsp application and put it in the server.
then you will have to access your page using a web browser.

Hi all,
McAfee uses 100% of my PC CPU every once in a while when jdevw.exe creates jar files in C:\Documents and Settings\wase\Local Settings\Temp. They get created at seemingly random times while I am running the embedded OC4J in debug mode (Struts, BC4J, ADF). McAfee is configured to ignore a few of my directories and I would like to direct those files into an unscanned directory. (No, The powers that be will NOT turn off on access scanning of archives. Sigh.) The files go away when I shut down JDeveloper.

Creating JAR files programmatically
I am trying to create JAR files programmatically using the java.util.zip and java.util.jar APIs. I am starting with just a set of directories containing .class files. I can seem to make the JAR but if I try to use any of the classes in it they don't work. But, if I unzip the JAR using WinZip, the classes are usable. So I am somehow building the JAR file incorrectly. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? The code is pretty long so I won't post it yet but I can send it to you if you'd like to see it. What paths are you encoding? Here are a couple of rules:
1 - All paths are '/' separated, and do not begin with a '/'.
2 - All paths are relative (see 1) and contain the exact package name of the class, plus the class.
E.G., the class java.lang.Object would look like this in your jar:
java/lang/Object.classNothing more or less. -
When re-installing JRE 1.2.2 I get an error "can't create JAR file"
When I uninstalled Java Runtime 1.2.2 and reinstalling, at the end of the installation I get an error:
"Error while creating JAR file.
Check you have enough disk space.
See c:\winnt\temp\uncrunch.log for details"
Only trouble is I've got 14 GB open and the uncrunch.log file isn't even created.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

How do I display Canvas Graphic image (Not Iconic button) from jar file

I am currently using Forms 10g.
I have gone through the tutorials on how to add Button Icons into Jar files for web enables forms .....so far so good
This however does not explain what I actually want to do... since "graphic images are by nature embeded in the for rather than referenced ......so here goes ..
I have a forms 10g application where all the individual form modules/canvases display a big banner (covering top 20% of the screen). This was done by importing the image straight unto the content canvases. As you know this now becomes a "graphic Image" now embeded(& not referenced by file name) on the canvas. Also bear in mind that this is actually different from an "Image Item" which is a block object.
I dont know if this is possible, but what steps do i follow to make the image part of a jar file as opposed to my current situation. Please let me know if possible or not so I stop waisting development time looking for answers :)
Another question is how do i make this jar file a library object so that we can vary the image as we wish
NB: one other trick which i can think of is to create a giant push button across the screen to display the image and then stick it in a jar file !

css_jay99I don't know about embedded images imported in from the builder, but there is a way to use READ_IMAGE_FILE into a BLOCK.IMAGE_ITEM where the images are all in a jar file stored on the OAS.
