Hi All,
One of my WFE/Query server for MOSS is showing Application Server Administration Service Timer Job stuck at Initialized 0% in CA timer Job status.
In timer Job Status in CA under the SSP Job Control service I find the Application Server Administration Service Timer Job struck at 0%
I have tried Clearing config cache of the Farm . I have tried disconnecting this server from Farm and reconnecting it with Psconfig UI, I have tried running Psconfig.exe on the affected server. But even after doing this service is stuck at 0%
If I exit the OWSTimer.exe from task manager, it shows aborted at 0% . I am using a single SSP and reconfiguring SSP is not an option right now.
Any help regarding it will be greatly appreciated.

A local guy here cut a deal with the school districts. he would purchase a bunch of equipment on his own (semi-pro cameras, edit systems, switchers, audio equipment, etc). For no cost, he teaches the kids how to use the equipment and the kids then shoot the sporting events, pep-assembies, dances, etc. he even teaches them how to do multi-camera, live switching coverage of events.
At the end of the year he takes all the footage and the kids help him complile it into about a 3 hour year-in-review video yearbook.
He makes all his income from the DVDs. Start doing some math here. 2000 kids per school, $50-75 per DVD, 5 schools. And the stuff isn't crap either, the quality is really good! -

This has nothing to do with the setting in your current workflow definition. This setting is made in the workflow customizing - transaction SWU3.
There you can define who is the workflow system administrator and if mails should be sent. Go to transaction SWU3 and look at the following activities:
- Maintain Runtime Environment --> Maintain Workflow System Administrator: Here you set who this is. Your user-id is set here.
- Maintain Runtime Environment --> Schedule Background Job for Work Items with Errors: Here you can define if a background job should be scheduled for workflowinstances that go into error. This also controls if a message is sent to the WF System Administrator each time a workflow goes into error. Check also the explanatory text of this activity:
Function
You use this activity to schedule monitoring and special treatment for background work items that could not be executed initially because of a temporary error in the underlying object method. These background work items with temporary errors are then restarted automatically. The activity must also be scheduled if the workflow system administrator is to be notified automatically by mail in the event of application errors and system errors.

Hello all,
given the scenario: I've successfully configured a 'working' solution in Solution Manager 4.0; I've added a system, created necessary rfc's and now I'm trying to set up the System Administration module (dswp->Operation Setup->System Administration->Central System Administration); every time I'm trying to remotely start a tranzaction on my monitored system(for example Checking for ABAP Short Dumps) and hit the 'start st22 button' it throws the following error:
"@8O@ Call of ST22 is not possible: Function module "/SDF/GEN_FUNCS_EXT_CALL" not found.. Central System Administration"
What could be the problem, does anyhbody have an ideea?

the missing function module /SDF/GEN_FUNCS_EXT_CALL is shipped with add-on ST-PI.
Have you installed add-on ST-PI on SAP Solution Manager system and the analyzed system?
It's generally recommended to have the latest version installed (ST-PI 2005_1_xxx SPnn).
Please remember, two add-ons need to be installed on SAP Solution Manager and all Satellite Systems:
- ST-PI
- ST-A/PI (SAP Note 69455)

We have started receiving load report failed error again in one of our production servers. This problem occurred some months ago and on that time we found that in the code reportdocument.close method was not called so we added into the code and set the print job limit to 400 and problem went away for couple of months but now it has started again.

Can any one tell if we are doing anything wrong in our code. We don't use sub reports any more however we do use paging and some of our reports have 200+ pages. Also is it possible to find out print job limit and concurrent users by writing some code.
ThanksI suspect it's not the code - after all it worked(?). It is much more likely that, it is the load. Remember that the report engine can only handle three concurrent requests at any one time. Also, remember that you can run out of print jobs real fast as subreports also count as print job. E.g.; say someone added a report that has 4 subreports in the detail section, the report runs a 100 records, you will be at 401 print jobs and thus over the limit. You can keep increasing the print job limit, but that means you are loading the server and eventually you will bring it down too...
It may be time to consider, web farms or Report Application Server to scale up(?).
Getting to the latest SP is never a bad idea either.

In BO 4.0 SP 9 when a administrator tries to schedule a report via CMC there is no error
But when a user schedules a report and the destination is FTP location -> Use default settings he gets following error
Destination disabled. []: [CrystalEnterprise.Ftp]. Please note the name of the job server used for your request and contact your system administrator to make sure the specified destination is enabled. (FWB 00031)
There is only one Job Server and the destinations are enabled in it
There is no Job server for Crystal Reports Job Server
Do i need to create it and how.Please check if you have proper rights to schedule to FTP. You can create a new job server, whenever you schedule it, there are multiple job servers, it will handle based on the load. But it is not mandatory, depends on the load.

Your question is very difficult since you didn´t provide any real data.
Looks like you would work as a junior functional FICO guy, that means you will do all the invoicing, workflows, prints etc. Together with the technical side they ask you to learn, you will be able to support users, became an internal consultant or be able to offer your knowledge to the customer which ue SAP as a SAP consultant. Don´t worry, since it is a nice job. I mean it is a demanding one, but I find it very rewarding, itis well paid I believe, you wil have many options how to advance or change your careerin the future etc.
If you can get the job, get it and come back withmore specific questions.

How to find Full time & Part time positions in system.
I am trying to create a NEW HIRE using pa40. I want to first hire him as Full time(FT) and then convert him to Part time(PT).
I understand that when I convert him to PT, I need a different PT position.
My question is how to find out the FT position number and PT position number created in the system. I want to enter the position number in IT0000

I part time or full time can be defined differently depending on how each country needs to deal with full time or part time employees.
In infotype 0007(Planned Working Time), there is a flag that indicates if the employee is parttime or not.
For example, for Belgium there is a extra field Reg. workschedule in infotype 0007, that determines if the employee is full time, parttime, etc.

BW STATISTICS
If you are asking abt the flags that you see in RSA1 -> Tools -> BW Stats...you can check BW Stats for each and every infoprovider. Whenever you create an infopprovider you should always decide whether you want to turn on the BW Stats for this infoprovider. This is a manual step and can be done in each and every box individually or can be transported across the systems. Coming to your question...BW Stats are of two kinds...
1) OLAP -
If you check this flag for an infoprovider...all the statistical data for the queries built on this infoprovider gets updated into the corresponding infocubes (0BWTC_C02 and 0BWTC_C03). An example would be like number of users that ran the report in a given time, the average run time of the query and so on. This data is of immense value in deciding the steps for performance tuning techniques like aggregates!
2) WHM (Warehouse Management) -
If you turn this flag on for an infoprovider, all the statistical data like how often the cubes are loaded, when are the requests deleted from the infocubes, data abt condensing of cubes and so on is loaded into the corresponding cubes like 0BWTC_C04, 0BWTC_C05, 0BWTC_C09 and 0BWTC_C11.
You have to activate the infopackages to load into these cubes and schedule them through process chain to run once in a while so that your statistical data is uptodate.
Production support for maintaining the process chains primarily involves monitoring activities of all the chains that are running in the background...
Errors in monitoring of process chains can be categorized into 4 different sections...
Master data - Full Update
Master data - Delta Update
Transaction data - Full Update
Transaction data - Delta Update.. in terms of loading of data which can be due to server shut down or system maintenance... errors due to incorrect entries in the OLTP system in which case you'll have to fix the errors in the PSA and manually load the data...
Otherwise it can have errors on Attribute change run being locked by some other job... Aggregate Roll up failing because of attribute change run being run at the same time... Problem with hierarchies and save hierarchies...
There can be problems with the data store activation if the ODS object contains any incorrect request sitting inside it... then, you need to delete the incorrect request and reload the data again...
In case of Transaction Delta failure, you'll have to request for a repeat either manually in the infopackage or using the repeat option if available on right clicking the load event...
For Master Data Delta failures, you need to do an Re-init by deleteing the previous initalization condition in the "initalization option for source systems" in the menu scheduler or reschedule the enitre chain... because, master data generally do not support repeat of last delta ...
Majority of the issues will be based on these things only..
