OAS: which option/package to get?

Hello,
What I need is the following:
1. OC4J (EJB and Servlet container)
2. JMX support and Web-based admin UI
3. Apache module (to put Apache in front of OC4J)
So I'm looking at: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/devuse.html
Which option should I choose?
Does #8 have everything above?
Thanks,
Otis

Some more useful info if you are still confused.
See this full channel list.
The extra Youview live SD/HD channels that come via the Infinity broadband are those from 400 - 599. You need the correct BT TV subscription to get those. BT currently only support them on a single box in your house.
All the other free live channels come via the TV aerial on the BT Youview+ box, including the basic HD channels from 73-74 and 101-109.
The live streamed channels 225-241 can not be received on a BT Youview+ box. Certain newer TV's and other types of PVR can receive them but they are not part of the Youview service.
Regarding the Infinity package.
With your estimated speeds you should get a solid 38Mbps if you signed up to just an Infinity 1 package. That may well be fast enough for your needs. If you are not sure and want to keep costs down my advice would be to sign up to Infinity 1 and see how it goes. You can always upgrade to Infinity 2 at any time if required. Downgrading during the minimum term is not something BT would normally allow.
Do check activation costs and any other offers though. Sometimes it works out at roughly the same cost over 12 months for Infinity 2 on an offer.
Note: Non of the data usage through the BT Youview+ box will count towards any monthly data allowance. Usage on other internet connected boxes, TV's will count. If on an unlimited data package you don't need to be concerned about this.

When I sync my iphone I get a popup that says 'ABAssistantService quit unexpectedly'. I can 'ignore', 'Report' or 'Reopen'. The popup comes right back after a few seconds no matter which option I choose. The only way to make it stop is to reboot the computer. Any ideas?

iTunes places the .ipsw file here:
    OSX:
    ~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates
    XP:
    C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
    7 &Vista:
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
Find and delete any and all .ipsw files on your computer. There should only be one, but delete all that you find. Next, disable ALL firewalls & security software on your computer. Connect your phone, iTunes running & restore from backup. Follow this by syncing your content back to your phone.
This will force iTunes to re-download the .ipsw file, as I suspect yours is corrupt.

I am running OSX 10.8.3,when i try to open iDVD i get the initial screen but when i try to choose an option all i get is 'Downloading Themes' which just continues. I have left it for over an hour?

Where did you get iDVD to put on your Mac?  The downloading themes are no longer available from Apple. If you copied it from a Mac that had all the themes look for the iDVD folder on that Mac which should be in the HD/Library/Applications Support folder or the Users/Home/Library/Applications Support folder.  Copy it to the HD/Library/Applications Support folder for Mt Lion.
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides  themes from iDVD 5-7.  The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:
This shows the iDVD contents in the iLife 09 disc via Pacifist:
You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.

  • OAS - PL/SQL packages not starting?

Okay, I realize this is a bone-headed question, but my developer is away and I am on the bottom end of the learning curve here, so bear with me.
After I have re-compiled a set of PL/SQL packages for an existing application, how do I ensure that these packages start? I have done a re-compile and restarted OAS, but hem... a specific package is not running. My guess is that I have missed a step =)
(PS - the package in question has run properly in the past; no changes have been made to the code, and it compiles without errors)

    Ronald,
    Thanks for you advise.
I don't think that it will be a good solution .
First, I would like to know if I have to re-generate the code. If this is a case then plsqlAssemble would be a big problem as a solution. Our clients would need to do this as well.
What I am actually doing is the following:
I am trying to secure PL/SQL Web Services with SOAP Headers for passing authentication data such as user and passw for the DataSource.
It works great but I had to extend some of code generated Java classes which implements ServiceLifecycle to get SOAPMessageContext object.

  • Optional Package - does it decrease memory size for war

We have around 10+ war files running within WLS 10.3.4.
Each of the war files are around 40 megs each.
I am looking at building a frameworks jar (via Apache Shade) and make that jar an optional package (which includes all my 3rd party frameworks like Spring/CXF/etc).
By deploying this jar as an optional package, I can cut the size of the war file in half.
The question is, does this really save the size of the war in memory?
When I deploy a war with a reference to an optional package, does WLS explode the war, import the optional package, and rebuild the war for deployment so that in the end, it equates to the same size war as if I had never utilized the optional package? The documentation seems to allude to this.
I want to know (before I do all the work), if decreasing the size of the war by excluding 3rd party libraries into an optional package will actually reduce the size of memory for each war.
    Thanks,
    Jay

One option is: use the c6/c7/c8 parameters if the INSTALL APDU. Start with a high value and work your way down. That will tell you how much mem you have.
The other option is to load an applet that allocates a large byte array. Work your way down and when it can successfuly allocate the memory, that's whats available on the card for you to use.
Third option: Get a 2.2 card and just call the API ! ! !

  • Weblogic Optional Packages - Permgen Memory Space

    Hi,
We are packaging some common jars as Optional Packages in weblogic and using them from different EAR files. We know for classes in side the EAR, each classloader creates individual clazz objects in the permgen space.
For classes inside the Optional packages and which are referenced in multiple EAR,does weblogic create seperate clazz instances in the permgen space for each classloader? If so then it would mean that classes inside the Optional Package will be created multiple times in the permgen space (attributed to different classloaders)
Any idea on the behaviour will be highly appreciated. Is the situation same with shared libraries ?

Depends on where your optinal classes are located.
If you insert them in the system (or server) classloader they will be loaded once, by the system
classloader. You can use the ${DOMAIN_HOME}/lib directory for this purpose. The jars located in
this directory will be picked up and added to the end of the server classpath at server startup.
The jars will be ordered lexically in the classpath.
If you are using shared libraries, these shared libraries will be merged at runtime with the
applications referencing them, so they will be local to the application and to my knowledge
loaded by the classloader of the application and not a separate shared library classloader. Thus
if you reference the shared library from multiple applications, the shared libraries get merged
multiple times and loaded multiple times. The reason is that WebLogic uses classloading
isolation between the deployed applications, so that from a classloading perspective
other applications do not bother other applications.

  • Optional Package - startup behavior

    Hi guys,
Hi have an optional package (similar to a shared library) that is referenced by two different applications. This optional package is a jar file.
When I 've a web application (WAR) I know that WebLogic will use the exploded directory in .../tmp/_WL_user to load the application, but which is the behavior when i'm using a jar file?

  • Service Release (SR) - which Support Package Levels?

    Hello,
I have a general question in terms of Service Releases of a SAP solution:
Is there an easy way to find out on which Support Package Level (or Support Package Stack) a Service Release (SR) of a SAP Solution (or NetWeaver itself) is based?
Can I get this information in the SAP Service Marketplace?
Example: mySAP <solution> SR1 is based on Support Package Level <nn> of component <comp1> and Support Package Level <nn> of component <comp2>.
    Any hint is appriciated.

The interesting bit is that SR1 was released in April; while SPS6 was available in
January. The same goes for SR2; released in December; while SPS9 was
    available in September.
There is a gap of 3 months between the SPS was released and the SR is released
I assume that patches that have been released for the SPS are included in the SR
therefor a system that has SPS6 or SPS9 applied is not neccisarily the same as
    SR1 or SR2.
    Hope this helps...
    Kind regards,

  • Confusion with JDBC Optional Package for CDC.

I am somewhat confused as to where this optional package fits.
    1. Is the implementation of this optional package to be COMPLETELY supplied by the database vendor(e.g. hsqdb, Oracle)?
    OR
    2. Is there an implementation available from Sun?
    OR
    3. Has Sun simply not released an implementation yet?
    OR
    4. Am I completely missing something here and losing my mind :)
    OR
Is the JVM supposed to supply the implementation?
    Thanks for any enlightenment.
    J

The actual specification can be written without actually talking to a database (the spec is mostly interfaces). However, you are write in that along with these classes (which must pass the TCK) the database vendor must provide the rest. Unlike normal java.sql where there is a DriverManager class, that is not the case in JSR-169.

  • Which options for moving a lightroom Catalog??

    Hi all,
I am in the process of merging two catalogs and getting very lost while I do it. First I'll let you know what I've done.
I exported the catalog I no longer want as a temporary catalog in my pictures library. Now, I'm trying to import that catalog into my main catalog.
Both of these catalogs are on one main internal hardrive on my desktop.
    Here are my questions.
    1) Which option should I choose for New Photos - File handling. A)Add new photos without moving B) Copy new photos to a new location and import or C) Dont import new photos.
I was thinking of doing B and then choosing my other lightroom folder as my copy destination since I want to have all my files together (in one folder/catalog). Is this the correct way?
    2) Which option for Existing photos (there is some overlap)? I can A) replace nothing B)replace metadata and develop settings C)replace metadata, develop settings and negative files. I dont want any duplicates however many over the photos I am bringing from the unwanted catalog have been edited so I want these edits to come over. Which option should I choose?
    3) What is the virtual copy for and should I select it?

Yep, that's exactly right Ray.  You can set which word label is represented by which colour.
For example, here's 2 of the sets that are built in, and you can create your own sets by going to Metadata menu > Color Label Set > Edit.
If the label 'words' don't match a color label in the current set, you get a white custom label instead.
Look back on the PC and see what colors match which words, and repeat the same on the iMac.

  • Is it possible to redeploy Optional Package(J2EELibrary)without versioning?

Currently, I decided to use Optional Package feature for one of our common shared jar file as it is referenced by our multiple applications (ear files). I can understand, how I can deploy multiple version of the optional package in order for the referencing application to use it. I am planning to use this version feature for optional package in our Production Environment. However, my issue is I don't want to use this version feature in our development environment as it involves more work for the developers (overhead on the developers to specify the optional package version in their referencing application). Is there any way I can redeploy optional package in development environment? I can only redeploy only after undeploying all my 6 referencing applications, which is taking more time.

Does any one have an example to implement Optional Package and versioning it?

  • Persistence Layer deployed as Optional Package

    Environment:
    - WebLogic 11g which consequently means EJB 3.0
    - Application has 3 modules: Web (referencing EJB and Persistence), EJB (referencing Persistence) and Persistence
Could I deploy my persistence layer as an Optional Package or does it have to be a Shared Library?
The reason I'm asking is that when I try to deploy my EJB module, WLS can't find the persistence unit being inject to it:
Unable to deploy EJB: StocksBean from BLayer-1.0.0-SNAPSHOT.jar: No persistence unit named 'internalAppsPU' is available in scope BLayer-1.0.0-SNAPSHOT.jar. Available persistence units: []
Persistence module is basically a JAR file deployed as an Optional Package with following in its Manifest:
    Extension-Name: PersistenceLayer
    Implementation-Version: 1.0.0-SNAPSHOT
    Specification-Version: 1.6
    in EJB's code I have:
    @Stateless(name="StocksBean", mappedName="StocksBean")
    public class StocksBean implements Stocks {
         @PersistenceContext(unitName = "internalAppsPU")
         private EntityManager em;
and in EJB's JAR file I have:
    pLayer-Extension-Name: PersistenceLayer
    pLayer-Implementation-Version: 1.0.0-SNAPSHOT
    pLayer-Specification-Version: 1.6
I'm deploying these one by one and not as an Application.

    Hi Arun,
Thank you so much for taking time and responding. I'm still having the same issue.
You see, I had the exact same problem when my persistence Entities were in the same Jar file as EJBs and I found out the problem was the name of the persistence.xml file (which was "Persistence.xml") and also the version of the namespace used in the XML file which conflicted with version of JPA's spi (version of JPA's spi in JEE1.6 is 1.0 and I was using version 2.0 of the namespace).
However, I got that fixed and now I'm trying to separate the layers (just moved the files around and didn't change the content). Here is what I have so far:
Name of Persistence Layer's JAR file: PLayer.jar
Manifest of Persistence Layer's JAR file:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Archiver-Version: Plexus Archiver
    Created-By: Apache Maven
    Built-By: bm03043
    Build-Jdk: 1.6.0_18
    Extension-Name: PersistenceLayer
    Implementation-Version: 1.0.0-SNAPSHOT
    Specification-Version: 1.6
Name of EJB's JAR file: BLayer-1.0.0-SNAPSHOT.jar
    Manifest of EJB's JAR file:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Archiver-Version: Plexus Archiver
    Created-By: Apache Maven
    Built-By: bm03043
    Build-Jdk: 1.6.0_18
    Extension-List: PLayer
    PLayer-Extension-Name: PersistenceLayer
    PLayer-Implementation-Version: 1.0.0-SNAPSHOT
    PLayer-Specification-Version: 1.6
I didn't know that Extension-List entry in EJB's jar file should match with the name of Persistence layer's jar file.
As for deployment, I deploy the Player and then EJB.
    Appreciate any input.

  • Which Funtion module can get print parameter in the background?

    Hi all,
I know the FM"GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS"can get the print parameter, but I find it can't get the print parameter in background. Does anybody know Which Funtion module can get print parameter in the background?
    Thanks in advance!
    Nina

    Hi Nina,
This is text copied from SAP HELP.
    FU GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS
    Text
Read, determine, change spool print parameters and archive parameters
      Functionality
The function module GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS is used to define, modify and
display the print and archive parameters. Using this function module is
the only correct way to modify a print or archive parameter record. The
print parameters are closely related and contain a check total. This
check total becomes invalid if any of the print parameters are changed
and causes a runtime error when the print parameters are used later.
The module recognizes the following modes (values of parameter MODE):
'PARAM'              Normal case. Define the print parameters for the
current program. The values that are not defined
are specified from the user master record or are
assigned default values. The print parameter screen
displays the PRINT key. This mode is used
if the MODE parameter is not specified.
'PARAMSEL'           Like PARAMS, except that the print parameter screen
includes an option to activate the selection
        screen.
'BATCH'              Define the print parameters for a background job.
In this mode, the name of the report to be started
is passed with the REPORT parameter. The REPORT
statement of the specified report is checked for
                             LINE-SIZE and LINE-COUNT definitions. These
definitions are passed as default specifications.
Furthermore, the SAVE key is offered
instead of the PRINT key in this mode.
    Check the BATCH MODE.
