Oascript (not repsonding)? What does this mean?

I've only recently begun using Time Machine and, thinking a backup every hour was excessive, I downloaded and installed TimeMachineScheduler, and set it to backup every two hours, just to see how it would work.
Around the time it should have started a backup, I heard a lot of HD activity, and confirmed with Activity Monitor that it was a process called oascript, which was listed in red, with (not responding) next to it. It was using about 40% of my CPU, and somewhere around 800MB Virtual Memory. I killed the task, and confirmed, at the next backup cycle that the TMScheduler was the culprit. I uninstalled it and have seen no recurrence of the issue since.
I looked around on he web and saw a lot out there on oascript (some automator component of some UNIX command, or something. I don't know.).
I have little knowledge of--and less patience for--UNIX stuff, so could someone give me a layman's explanation of what might be happening, and why?
Anyone else have similar experiences with TMScheduler?

you probably mean osascript not oascipt.
osascript is a unix command to run an apple script. beyond that it's quite impossible to say what was happening because all the info is actually contained in the apple script called by the osascript command.
Besides TimeMachineScheduler there is another program with similar capabilities [TimeMachineEditor|http://timesoftware.free.fr/timemachineeditor> which I actually like better for the same task. unlike TimemachineScheduler it doesn't install anything and merely uses existing built in capabilities of the OS. therefore it's much less likely to cause any problems.
