HI Friends,
when i was trying installation of obi 11.1.1.6 in windows7 i got the error like " install ipv4 hardware and driver in the system level"
My system configuration is Hard disk:500gb
Ram:4GB
Processor :i3
Please give solution to my problem

Problem with OBI Apps v7.9.5 installation on WinXP SP2

We are attempting to install OBI Apps v7.9.5 on a WinXP SP2 machine. However, upon clicking the setup.exe file, we get the following error message -- Unable to load the launcher file index. Invalid file type in the index.
As a pre-requisite for OBI Apps, JDK 1.5.x and OBIEE v10.1.3.3.1 have been installed without any issues. Hence, not sure why we are getting the above error for OBI Apps. We have searched Oracle documentation, blogs and forums, but not found any reason or solution to this problem.
Any inputs will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the input. The contents of the installation directory are as below:
Oracle_BI_Applications

Before posting this query, I did run the setup.jar file. However, when the installation process reaches 100%, it terminates with the following error - */version_apps.txt does not exist*. Also, it rolls back the complete installation, so I do not get the OBI Apps files/directories such as DAC, dwrep, RPD, Web Catalog zip, etc.
As shown in the directory structure, this file does exist. My guess is - since I am running the JAR file and not the EXE, it is unable to resolve the path of version_apps.txt correctly and hence throws this error. Having gone through related blogs and posts, I understand that OBI Apps can be installed on Win XP SP2.
Any inputs?

OBIA 7.9.6.3 Installation

Hello,
I am trying to install OBIA 7.9.6.3 on my machine, For that provided Weblogic Administrator Servers details i.e. port number , username and password but after that it failed with error "Unable to connect to Oracle WebLogic NodeManager. Make sure the NodeManager windows service is running."
I have started Node manager using 'startNodeManager.cmd' but still same error occurred.

Hi,
1) go to your windows services and if Nodemanager service started please stop the service.
2) from command prompt start the Adminserver. Wait till the status shows as Running Mode. do not close the cmd window
3) After strting the adminserver. go to windows services and start the Nodemanager service.
4) Now start your installation.

Admin tool crash

Hello everyone :)
I'm wanted test OBI on VM but after installation (before, on this VM I installed Oracle database and use RCU to create repository) I have a problem. I wanted connect to sample database (my warehouse when I have some values), but when I start Admin (Start->Oracle Business Intelligence->BI Administration) it's crash.
Has anyone idea how can I fix it? Or is there maybe other way to connect to database and create data model?

I use 64 bits win 2008 R2 and 64-bits OBIee (my oracle database - repository created by rcu- is also 64-bits, but I think it's not important because I have a problem with obi)

I just reinstalled it again and the issue was fixed

Fact tables not loading

Hi guys,
We have installed ODI 11 with OBIA and so far the installation has been done with out any problems.But the problem here is none of the fact tables is getting loaded what would be the root cause for this.
Most of the dimension tables got loaded.By default only 1 fact table got loaded,but there are 50 fact tables in that module(HRMS & finance) but when we execute the process is running but the tables ar not loading.
Its an urgent requirement,i had no clue whats happening.Any ideas guys.

First of all you need to check if all the dimensions got loaded or not?
Because if a crucial dimension like customer or something else, which is being used in all fact loads is not getting loaded then obviously none of your facts will be loaded.

VSS-OTM-SERVER ==> JRocket, Weblogic Server, OHS, OTM 6.3
VSS-BI-DB-SERVER ==> Oracle 11.2.0 DB (Data Warehouse Type), OBI, ODI
I have OTM installation guide E38416-04 but I am little confused with it as it gives a different combination example. But it talks about about installing everything in the same instance on VM and many things differ. And also it doesnt talk about FTI.

OBI Installation on AIX

Hi ,
I am looking for documentation specific to following:
Install Oracle OBI 10.1.3.3 on Unix Environment
a.     OBI Server on Unix (AIX ) environment
b.     OBI Web Server on Unix (AIX) and host on Apache Tomcat.
c.     Informatica on Unix (AIX)
d.     Oracle DAC Server on Unix (AIX)
Specific documentation on each of the them would be of great help. I would also appreciate if we can pre-requisites instructions too. E.g. Java on AIX

OBIEE 10.1.3.4 is basically a Windows application that has been ported to other platforms. Unfortunately, the Administration Tool only runs on Windows, so you will need to install OBIEE on AIX and on Windows, then delete what you do not need on Windows so you are left with the Administration Tool only.
On Windows, I installed 10.1.3 OAS (J2EE + WebServer), then did an Advanced Installation of OBIEE on WIndows, and installed into the 10.1.3 OAS. Then I deleted the 10.1.3 OAS so I was just left with the Administration Tool. Make sure you have 10g client installed on your WIndows machine, then configure your ODBC datasources per the Oracle By Example fpr OBIEE:

OBI EE 10.1.3.2 installation problem

I just installed OBI on Linux with OAS R3 (10.1.3.1.0). I can't manage to use Oracle Application Server Control to edit configuration files (instanceconfig.xml, etc). I've added in the opmn.xml parameters from the documentation (-DSAROOTDIR, -DSADATADIR, etc) but I can't find Oracle BI Management row in Application Defined MBeans when I try to use OEM to edit those configuration files.
Any thoughts ???

I've got a similar configuration to yours. I did not have to modify the opmn.xml like the documentation mentioned. The installer seems to have done that for me (I pointed the installer to my existing 10.1.3.1 App Server) when it deployed the three J2EE apps (bianalytics, bijmx, bixmlpserver). It took me a while to find the configuration screens. Here's where I found them.
1. From the Cluster Topology screen, click on bijmx
2. Click on the Applications Tab
3. You should see a line that says "Oracle BI Management." Click on "Application Defined MBeans" in the far right column

OBIA installation in UTF-8

Hi all,
We're going to setup an OTAP environment for OBIA on EBS 12. Has anybody got experience putting the OBIA databases in Unicode?
I.e. will the BIA installation of the OLAP schema use the correct length semantics when installing on an UTF-8 instance?

No, the source is WE8ISO8859P1.
The only thing I could find is that the source should be a subset of the target, which I think should be the case if the target is UTF-8

During OBI11g 11.1.1.6.0 Installation I got the below error and installation failed,

Actually the source exists under the path,

Looks like installation process trying in wrong path.

OBI EE 11.1.1.7.1 installation issues

Hi,
I am installing OBI EE 11.1.1.7.1 on OEL 64-bit machine.
I am getting this error during the step to select components to Install (I selected OBI EE and BIP):-
*"INST- 08109: ORACLE_HOME environment variable should not be defined"*
On this Linux machine I already have Oracle 11.2.3.0 DB running. Have installed WLS 11gR1 version.
How to go about eliminating this error ?

Before starting the installer unset the ORACLE_HOME environment variable and run the installer. OBI will set the ORACLE_HOME during the installation.

Installation error for OBI 11.1.1.5

In the middle of OBI installation(28%) on a virtual machine(windows XP 32 bit) I receive the following error :
Installation failed
OUI session failed
Invalid entry size (expected 359303298 but got 182344 bytes)
What can I do? I made all the steps from the Installation Guide ..how can I fixed it?

You need at least 2 GB RAM. If you are running Enterprise install you are going to need 4GB. Anything below that is just very slow performing. If you go the simple install route, you can get away with 3 GB.

Installation OBI EE11g and Essbase 11.1.2 on the same virtual machine

I´ve installed OBIEE 11g on my VM and now I am starting to install Essbase 11.1.2 in standalone mode on the same virtual machine.
I want to use essbase as datasource for OBIEE.
I´m familiar with the installation of Essbase 11.1.2 in standalone mode.
However before I start I wanted to know about your experiences.
Did you install OBI EE11g and Essbase 11.1.2 on the same virtual mashine?
