OBI Applications with EBS - Delta records ?

Hello,
I wonder if OBI Apps with EBS does capture the delta/changed records for loading them into the OBAW ? In other words, I understand that there is a full load at the beginning and then there would be just delta loads for the changed records. I just dont know if there is support for capturing the changed records.

I know for a fact that OBI Apps with Siebel that is the way it works but I am not sure if with EBS is the same way...

Call ADF applications inside EBS.

We are in the process of implementing couple of ADF applications with EBS security realm. I created a simple test app with a simple page and trying to use the EBS JAAS authentication, but its not authorizing for the pages. It looks like its authenticating fine.
HEre are our Server configuration.
Webloogic version - 10.3.6.0
JDeveloper Version - 11.1.2.1
Middleware version : 11.1.1.5 + interim patches

The security model works fine in the Jdev Integrated WLS.
I went through serveral documents including Oracle document E28169-01 (note 974949.1). We don't want to call ADF applications inside EBS. Basically we just want to use the EBS Authentication and Authorization for our ADF applications.
As I mentioned earlier, its definitely authenticating my credentials, but its not authoring the page.

I've done something like what Timo describes. We have deployed an application that exposes links to an external BI server to serve up reports/Discoverer workbooks. The URL is obviously different for dev/test/prod - so, what we did was to have a configuration table in the DB that defines such type of configuration parameters. We then have an application-scoped managed bean that sources its attributes from the database table and we refer to that managed bean using EL to construct the URLs. I didn't use web.xml/properties files for this because I wanted to have an EAR deployment artifact that could be deployed to any environment with no change.

OBIA 7.9.6.3 security integration with EBS R12.1.2

Hi Experts,
We are implementing OBI Apps 7.9.6.3 with EBS R12.1.2 as source.We need to integrate Active Directory with OBIEE and implement security of BI Apps with EBS R12.1.2. Need help on this.
How to map EBS Responsibilities into Application Role and Groups? Whether we need to create one Application Role and Group for each responsibility ? Then provide permissions in rpd for each of them? The user should have similar permission in BI as they have in EBS - like people can see only US Finance data in EBS should see only US Finance data in BI also.

Oracle Applications Adapter - working with EBS R12 (inbound/outbound)

Are you referring to the EBS functional modules? BI Apps has a numbe of product families (Financial Analytics, HR Analytics, CRM Analytics..etc) that can source from EBS as well as other ERP systems (PeopleSoft, Siebel, JDEdwards..etc). If you are looking for the functional areas, I would suggest asking your Oracle rep for the "Product Guides" for the package you need (e.g Financial Analytics, HR Analytics..etc). Also there is a "Content Guide" you can find on metalink that lists the OOTB reports, dashboards, and Metadata content (RPD attributes).

No.of transferred records do not match with delta records in RSA7

Hi,
The full update was failing since a number of days in 0vendor because of error in the source system. So I did an initialize with data transfer and corrected the PSA data and updated it using scheduler in the infoobject. In this case the number of transferred records was 24300 and added records was 0.Next I executed the delta infopackage and was expecting 0 records,since there were 0 records in rsa7. But I got 16000 records.Can you explain me why this happened?

Hi Shalaka,
In which version of SAP you are working?
You might want to have a look at the table BDCP2 which is a different table that handles the delta mechanism for the change pointers.
You can reset the processing status using the program RSA1BDCP ex with following entries.
Now, coming to your issue - to verify the initial loads I am listing some basic checks(step by step).
You can give it a try in Dev/QAS if you have any restrictions in Prod.
1. Check and verify if the RSA7 delta queue is present.
2. In BW system, delete the INITIALIZATION request from infopackage - This should delete the delta queue from RSA7 in ECC system. (I am not 100% sure about this so try this once)
3. Re-initialize the datasource from BW system and note the no. of incoming records in BW. This should match with LFA1 entries.
4. Check the delta queue in RSA7 - There should be a new delta queue created
5. Start the Delta load - The should not be any records coming in to BW
6. Check the entries in table BDCP2 and its process indicator.
7. Create a new vendor from XK01 and check the entry again in BDCP2 table.
8. Run the delta again in BW and this time delta should have the newly created vendor.
Also be aware that since its a master data datasource and deals with change pointers you will not see any entries in RSA7.
A possible reason I could think of you getting 16000 records in delta is because you might have initialize the datasource is past and then started the FULL loads. So the deltas actually started accumulated in BDCP2 with processing status as BLANK and then when you triggered delta again back now all the historical deltas are processed.
This apply with BDCPV too if you are on older version of SAP.
Did you tried running delta's multiple times - you should not face any delta records when the processing status of change pointers is set to 'Processed' i.e. 'X'.
PS: You can find the message type for 0VENDOR_ATTR in ROOSGEN table. This will be useful in looking at table BDCP2.

How to fill set up tables with out missing the delta records

Hi,
I would like fill set up tables in the productioon system of apllication of logistics.
Can you please guide me how do we perform.?
What are points to be considered?
Because,when i start the filling set up table by 10.AM if there are any posting at 10:05,10:06....like that
how can collect them i.e will i miss any records in second delta run?What setps to be taken care?

Hi.
You can fill the set-up tables during normal operation hours ,if you load the data into ODS and the update queue is 'Queued delta' .Downtime is needed to avoid the duplicates .But if you use 'Direct delta' you miss the delta documents. Hence it is better to go for downtime approach for this case.
Initially your delta records will be stored in the extraction queue and then when you run the collective job, records will be moved into delta queue. You can run the collective job (LBWE) anytime after the init run.If you need a daily delta ,then schedule this job before the delta loading. You can schedule this job either hrly or daily .This will move your records into delta queue. At the time of delta loading ,all your delta queue records will be moved into BW .

Delta Records not coming from sm13 to rsa7

Hi,
We have found that for the application 02, delta records are coming in RSA7(delta queue) even if these are coming in sm13.
It appears that some protocol responsible for bringing the delta records from sm13 to rsa7 is failed.
Fact is that for the data sources related to application 02 (purchasing: LO Cockpit), we did some enhancements through LBWE.
But before transporting the relavant requests to production, we did not delete sm13 and rsa7 entries and also at the time of transpoting the requests in production, postings were made by several users and the entries for those were appearing in sm13.
Thing to notice is that whatever fields were shifted in LBWE, those changes have successfully appeared in production after transporting ( LBWE and relavant Extract Structure in Production are containing the required changes)
Now each time to load the data in BW, we have to delete and refill the set up tables and schedule full update which is taking a lot of time and not advisable.
Each time when we are running job control in LBWE, it is throwing dump in ST22 with the heading CONNE_IMPORT_WRONG_STRUCTURE.
It appears that some internal problem has occured in the structure of rsa7/sm13 for application 02.
Also it is written in the dump that:--
When attempting to import data, the structure of the complex object
"MC02M_0ITM_TAB"
was not compatible with the target object. The error occurred with
component no. 24.
Try to find out why the structure of the object is unsuitable.
There are several possible reasons:
|
--- In the ABAP Dictionary, the structure of the imported
|   object has changed. Make sure that the structure of the imported
|   object matches that of the Dictionary structure.
|
|   If the data could not be restored from another source, this data
|   must be read with the "old" structure, then converted and exported
|   back with the new structure, so that future IMPORTs always work
|   with the new structure.
|
--- A new program version is active, and it no longer matches the
    dataset. Try to solve the error by generating the program "SAPLMCEX" again
    as follows:
    In the SAP System, choose the transaction SE38. Enter the program
    name "SAPLMCEX". Then choose the "Activate" function.
Now how to make the things back on track so that delta records come in rsa7 from sm13 so that we schedule delta update in info package.
Is there any OSS Note or Standard SAP Report which we have to run for getting the solution.
If not, please suggest the solution.

Oracle E-Business Suite R12
Problem
I'm following Oracle Support Note +Integrating Oracle Business Intelligence Applications with Oracle E-Business Suite [ID 552735.1]+ to allow my EBS users to login into OBI Apps from the EBS instance. This is working and my EBS users can logon to the Dashboards and Answers through the documented menu links in EBS. However, the BI Presentation Administrator isn't a EBS user and cannot now login through the BI login URL http://<host>:9704/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard. Instead there is a message:
+"You are not currently logged in to the Oracle BI Server."+
+"If you have already logged in, your connection might have timed out, or a communications or server error may have occurred."+
Is there a way to allow the BI Presentation Administrator to directly access the BI login page, once integration to EBS has been configured?

You need to edit you instancecofig.xml file , in the Auth tag make sure to add and after Externallogon enabled="true" and logonpageallowed="true"
the line should look like

User authentication when OBIEE is integrated with EBS

Hello guys
I have a conceptual question about how OBIEE authentication is performed in an integrated environment with EBS? If the goal is to have users access to OBIEE based on their roles given in EBS, what kind of authentication is it needed for such implementation?
Do I import users and group from EBS database or LDAP server (if its available)? what kind of session variable and ini block is created if I want to do data level secuirty based on user groups?
Please give some basic idea and guidelines on topic

1.manual

3.from external database
