OBI SE1 versions

Hello,
Our GRCI analytics product is on OBIEE 10.1.3.3.2 and OBIEE 10.1.3.3.3.
However we have following questions, that would help us in deciding the pricing options for our customers.
- Are the corresponding OBI SE1 available out (OTN or SAC) for above versions. I couldn't locate them in OTN.
- Is the rpd/webcat developed using OBIEE compatible with OBI SE1?

No, Delivers is not included in the licence for BISE1. BISE1 includes server, answers, dashboards, publisher plus a bundled datawarehouse Database SE1 with Warehouse Builder core ETL. BI suite EE Plus includes server, answers, dashboards, publisher and in addition Delivers, Disconnected Analytics, MS Office Powerpoint/Excel plugins "plus" some hyperion perfomance management stuff but does not include a data warehouse.

Hello,
I've the following problem with the installation of the OBI SE1 V10.1.3.2.1.
I've installed the version above days before and uninstalled this version with the oracle installer. Today I want to reinstall the same version but the only what happens is an error message from the oracle installer that this version is already installed on this machine. In this case, what can I do so that I can install this the OBI SE1 on my machine?

OBI SE1 Installation Problem - Installation loops

Hi all,
I've been trying to install an OBI se1 on a new server with nothing on it but Windows server 2003.
I've gotten up to the "Installing oracle business intellligence 101..3.2.1" and the Installation seems to be looping through the installFromOUI.bat and running it again and again.
I've been at it for a whole day now...

How to upgrade OBI SE1 10.3.2.1 to 10.3.4?

Hi there,
I'm starting a new project on a few days, so I've checked last available versions of OBI.
OBISE1 is still on 10.1.3.2.1, while OBIEE is already up to 10.1.3.4.0.
As OBISE1 setup is "as is", I figure I must first install it and then patch it.
I couldn't find any metalink note, nor forum thread about patching an existing installation.
Only at OBI EE documentation, there's a "Infrastructure Upgrade Guide" PDF, but seems to be intended for previous Siebel software to OBI 10.1.3.4.
Anyway, I tried to follow same procedure (on a VM .... just in case), but I can't even startup 10.1.3.4.0 setup ... a java error comes up at few seconds after starting setup!!!
Anyone can help on:
- patching?
- successfully installing 10.1.3.4?

Hi,
We also ran into this problem and it seems that the SE1 is just a repackaged version of OBIEE so they don't update it as often as they do the EE. The official advice we got on the subject from the local Oracle rep was to install OBIEE 10.3.4 on top of our existing installation of SE1 10.3.2.1 - it does an upgrade and everything worked fine.

OBI SE 1 Administration Tool as a client tool to another OBI SE1 instance

Our client has installed the OBI SE 1 on a "server" machine with no hassles. They then installed OBI SE 1 again on a different "client machine", in order to use, only the Administration Tool as a client tool to the other OBI SE 1 Server instance.
They changed the Oracle BI ODBC connectivity to point to the other machine but when they try to use the Administration Tool they get the following message:
[nQSError: 37001]Could not connect to the Oracle BI Server instance.
They then tested the ODBC Client tool to test connectivity and they can access the OBI Server instance in question.
I know that with the SE 1 installation there are no separate installs for client and server components, so my question is: can they do this or in the SE 1 the Administration tool must reside on the same machine as the Oracle BI Server??
Any help will be much appreciated.

Did they use the "Oracle BI Server" ODBC type?
Are they able to successfully ping the remote machine?
There is also a possiblity that they did not fully configure the connection to the Remote Repository. There are 3 steps to the wizard.
The Admin tool is the same admin tool that comes with BI EE (but at a lower release level than the current BI EE, so do not try to just install that client, it will adjust the Repositoy upward and then it will be incompatible with BI SE One). I have connected to many remote repositories without any problem.

Does anybody know if SQL Server 2005 can be used with OBIEE?

Yes. Create a new database in the physical layer of the rpd and open the "Database" dropdown in the "Data source definition"...not the "SQL Server 2005" entry there.

Oracle BI SE1: Patch to 10.1.3.4

We're currently using BI SE1 version 10.1.3.2 (Windows) but our developers like to push to 10.1.3.4.
They like this new feature where you can migrate part of the Oracle Reports reports to BI Publisher.
How can I patch to 10.1.3.4? I've been searching for a patch on both Metalink and Technet, but couldn't find it.

so yes, you can upgrade BI to 10.1.3.4.1 but no, you can only upgrade the database to 10.2.0.5 not 11g (if you want support).

OBI EE tab colours

Pls Share experience of upgrade to OBIEE10.1.3.3.x from 10.1.3.2.1 QF200

We had a sudden services stop in production and Oracle support has suggested to upgrade to the latest version OBIEE10.1.3.3.We are currently on 10.1.3.2.1 QF200
Our previous upgrade experience from Siebel Analytics 7.8 to OBIEE 10.1.3.2 was horrible.We had issues for 2 months after upgrade. So we want to be careful upgrading again.
Appreciate if people can share their experience if someone has upgrade to the latest version OBIEE10.1.3.3.x.
We are evaluating the worth and effort of the upgrade

Victor please not:
1. OBI SE is the Discoverer and Reports based solution. Currently available in rel. 11. I guess you ment OBI SE1 that is OBIEE based.
2. The default installation of OBI SE1 is based on BI EE 10.3.2.1. As stated in Metalink3: "It is supported and quite easy to upgrade the BI components of BI SE1 to higher versions. Just run the BI EE installation as you would for any upgrade -- it will detect that BI EE is already installed and prompt you if you want to keep your configuration or install a new/default. You should choose to preserve your configuration. (of course it is always advised to make a backup before installing) The installation will proceed, installing just the updated product and leave the configuration intact."

Oracle Business Intelligence Standard Edition 1 download?

Apologies in advance if this is a daft question but could someone point me in the direction of the download link for Oracle Business Intelligence Standard Edition 1 11G for Windows 64bit?
The white paper below dated 2010 eludes to there being an 11g version of this software but the download site only has 10g:

I downloaded the Enterprise edition 11g in the vain hope that the installer would have an option for installing standard edition 1, which it didn't.

Am I correct in saying that the Simple Install is Standard Edition 1? It doesn't say that anywhere (unless I'm missing it).Simple install is like a standard installation, less input is required from you.

Hi Aravind ,
In OBI SE One 10G there was a single installation file.With this you can install all the programs.
But for the OBI SE One 11G there is no a single installation file and there wont.You need to install them seperately.
First install database (if you install 11G database etl tool(owb) is included in this installation) just you need to activate the owb schema.So you have db+etl tool.
Next you should install OBIEE11G.Thats it.

Custom Workflow Load Error in Power Center error code 36331

I have installed OBIEE version 11.1.6 and OBI APPS version 7.9.6.3. I am using informatica power center 9.0.1.

And the Workflow Log shows the below:

I have checked all of the Mappings, Mapplets and Workflows as well as generating parameters for attempting the load, but it still errors. Does anyone have any ideas?

Was the Workflow or the DAC task been modified. Because the Out-of box customer dimension task would look like:

Problem in Opening the Catalog Manager

Hi Gurus,
Recently we have migrated to the OBI EE version 10.1.3.4
While opening the catalog manager: Start --> All Programs --> Oracle Business Intelligence --> Catalog Manager
When Clicked on the catalog manager then it is throwing the below error:
An error has occured. See the log file
