OBIA 7964 Prerequisites

Hi Friends,
We are planning to install OBIA 7964 to one of my new client.
Software      Version
OBIEE      OBIEE 11.1.1.7
Informatica Power Center      Infa 9.0.1 HotFix 2
DAC      DAC 11.1.1.0
Oracle Database      10gR2: 10.2.0.4. or higher,
11gR1: 11.1.0.7,
11gR27: 11.2.0.1 or higher
EBS ?????????
Please guide us which is the exact DAC, Oracle Database, EBS versions are suitable for OBIA 7964. Or any problems are there in OBIA 7964 compare with OBIA 7963. Suggest us which is the better one to suggest my client..

Hi Gurus,
I need to know what is the process of installing OBIA 7964 on the Linux, I had already installed the OBIA 7964 on the windows. Can you please let me know what are the next steps to install the OBIA 7964 on the LINUX environment. The Linux environment is on OBIEE 11.1.1.6.10 and the Webcat is copied from the Production Environment which has OBIA 7963. The Informatica is on HotFix2 and DAC 11g. So everything is in place I need to know now:
1.) How to implement the OBIA 7964 on the LINUX.
2.) How to upgrade the Webcat so that the Dashboards show the version as 7.9.6.4
3.) Do I need to do anything on the RPD side.

1. The installation for OBIA 7964 is same as OBIE 7963 except the version difference of the tools like OBIEE. Follow the standard installation document. it will be better.
2.No need to upgrade Webcatalog. you have to copy the catalog from 7963 server and paste in the location, deploy and restart all services then it will start working
3. For RPD, copy the RPD from OBIA 7963 server. open the Admin tool in OBIA 7964 server and open the RPD(OBIA 7963 RPD) in the Admin too 7964 server and save it in the desired location(Desktop). Then the latest RPD is ready , you can deploy the RPD and start working with the 7964.

Required Information for OBIA 7964 Installation:
Installing Database
Creating Repositories or Schema using RCU
Installing OBIEE11g on windows
Installing OBIA using installer
Installing 11g on linux before you move the files.
Moving respective files / folders to Linux.
Questions:
Can we install OBIA 7964 on windows 7 / xp using the installer.
After moving the files / folders to linux can we remove the installation on windows.
Please help us on the above questions.

1- Yes u can install OBIA 7.9.6.4 on windows.
2- Yes u can de-install OBIA. u can de-install (uninstall) same like normal program like by Going to Control panel then 'Program & features) then u will see OBIA in list.

Group Account Configuration - OBIA 11.1.1.7.1

I am setting up Financial Analytics OBIA 11.1.1.7.1, have following questions regarding group account code setup
1. Should we always use Natural Account Segment for mapping to Group Account Codes? I could see a customer is using different segment (Sub Account) to classify their accounts to various categories. Should we use combination of Natural Account and Sub Account to classify them in to various Oracle supplied group account numbers?
2.If i have to go with multiple segments for group account configuration, i could n't see a technical note from oracle support for OBIA 11.1.1.7.1 where ETL tool is ODI. Can we customize ODI using the technote available for Informatica based OBIA 7964 tech note? Are there any changes to apply on top of it?

Thanks for reply. We've multiple COAs(Three Companies with seperate COA) Also with in one COA natural Account is dependend on Sub GL Segment and Cost Center. In "file_group_acct_codes_ora" file we only map Natural Accounts.Now if we map only Natural Accounts to Group Account Number it will pull all data. e.g. Natural Account 123,Cost Center A and Sub GL Account 1 should be mapped to Cash. if we map 123 to Cash it will pull all data for all Sub GL Accounts and Cost Centers. Please let me know if you need more clarification.

How to install OBIA on windows having OBIEE on Linux?

Hi,
I am going to install as many components on Linux as possible for BI Apps.
Presently I have installed OBIEE 11.1.1.7 on Linux 5.8 64bit.
Now I want to install OBIA 7964 which is only available for Windows so far.
How I can setup OBIA on Linux? May be I have to install it windows and move metadata (RPD, Catalog) on Linux.
But again when I try to install OBIA on windows then it ask for OBIEE software locations (Like domain home, instance home etc)
Does that interesting by Oracle? How to solve it?
Documentation say nothing about it.

After you have copied you might just need to restart the services for few files in order for them to be reflected. OBIA comes with RPD and catalog folders, just copy them or deploy them using EM and just restart the services. You should be good.
If you cant access http://hostname:9704/analytics then services might be down. looks for logs and also ./opmnctl status to see as what are the services are down.

No Log Found in OBIEE 11.1.1.6.9

Hi All,
We have installed OBIEE 11.1.16.9 and have configured OBIA 7964 RPD. While trying to retrieve the log files for any report by going to Administration - Manage Sessions, and then clicking on the report we are getting 'No Log Found' message.
As part of setting we have set the variable LOGLEVEL in the rpd to 7.
Also at the user level, for our user 'weblogic' we have set the log level to 7.
But still we are not getting the log files.
Are we missing something? Please let us know how to resolve it.

since I cannot install dac11g successfully, may i know if DAC 10.1.3.4 is compatable with BI Apps 7.9.6.4 with Informatica 9.1 hotfix2 on windows x64 2008 R2 platform?

Normally, Oracle will lag behind in certifying the latest PSoft releases...however, we are using OBIA 7964 with PSoft FSCM 9.2 using the 9.1 SDE adaptors. It seems to work fine. In general, its best to ensure the version is certified but you can ask Oracle support if the 9.1 adaptor can be used for 9.2 HCM. If there are not significant structural changes for the tables in PSoft, it may work. As for the dates for certification, Oracle would have to assist with that. We have asked about FSCM 9.2 4 months ago and it is still not certfied.

The server responded with: java.lang.NumberFormatException. It is not happened all reports. Only some of the reports showed this kind of error. Kindly help me to resolve this issue.

Issue was, Font been defined as 7.5 (may be font size decimal not supported ).the problem solved

OBIA -'Financials_Oracle R12'

After installation of OBIA we are trying to run out of box 'Financials_Oracle R12' execution plan. And it failed right at the start with following error.
Error while loading nodes.
ERROR: Circular Dependency detected. Check server log for details.
'TASK_GROUP_Load_PartyDimension' Has circular dependency with 'SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_Softdelete'
'TASK_GROUP_Load_PartyDimension' Has circular dependency with 'SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_Type1Update'
ABORTING BECAUSE OF CIRCULAR DEPENDENCIES.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?
Please note we were able to execute "Procurement and Spend: Oracle R12".

For me, the only way to sizing OBIA with your requirements is to do a sizing review with Oracle. They analyze your requirement, preconize architecture and do an estimation of the size of your database.
Oracle provide minimum requirement for hardware with the installation of OBIA but it is only pre-requisite (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35287_01/bia.7964/e22970.pdf).
With your suggestions, I have some questions :
- Why there are 2 Informatica / DAC server ?
- For me, your Database configuration is under-estimate compared your OBIEE server.
The minimum prerequisite is :
- Oracle Business Analytics Warehouse :
CPU:2 GHz or better, 8 CPU cores minimum - RAM:8 GB
- ETL Server (Oracle Business Intelligence DataWarehouse Administration Console Server and Informatica PowerCenter Services) :
CPU:2 GHz or better, 4 CPU cores minimum - RAM:8 GB - Storage Space:100 GB free space

OBI 11.1.1.7.0 - upgrade from 11.1.1.6.5

I'm attempting to upgrade to 11.1.1.7.0 from 11.1.1.6.5 via a Software Only Install on a Win2008 R2 64-bit server. Prior to the upgrade OBI 11.1.1.6.5 was running with no issues. I've downloaded the four 11.1.1.7.0 zip files and extracted via 7-Zip to a common directory with folders disk1, disk2, disk3, disk4 under the same parent directory. I run disk1\setup.exe and do the following steps:
Step 1 of 14 - click Next
Step 2 of 14 - click Skip Software Updates
Step 3 of 14 - click Software Only Install
Step 4 of 9 - all checks receive a green check mark
Step 5 of 9 - Oracle Middleware Home and Oracle Home Directory have the correct default entries
Step 6 of 9 - WebLogic Server is the default
Step 7 of 9 - Installation type and directory structure match the appropriate entries. Click Install button.
Step 8 of 9 - Once the Install button is clicked in the prior step I receive the following error:
Installation Failed. Prepare Session failed SEVERE:Values for the following variables could not be obtained from the command line or response file(s): MYORACLESUPPORT_USERNAME(MyOracleSupportUsername)
Silent install cannot continue.

I want to install OBIEE 11g with SQL Server Express Edition 2008.
Is it possible to install OBI with SQL server express edition or not.
Please send me prerequisites of OBIEE11g with SQL server.
