OBIA Configuration

Hi,
We are implementing OBIA 7.9.6.3 (Finance & HR) , All Installation and configuration over.
Now we are working on DAC common configuration parameters,source file and lookup file configuration.
I'm referring OBIA 7.9.6.3 configuration guide. But its look huge for me to study, As I have very less to show reports to my client.
can anyone share a easy document with step by step method to go fast and finish my task?
Our OS = windows server 2008
Ebiz =12.1.3
Informatica = 9.0.1
DAC=10.1.4.3

Just refer OBIA 7.9.6.3 configuration guide and make sure you have Business Analyst with you to configure them.
If some one share any document its no use and more over its time consuming process.
Since its very first time(Dev) you are setting up it'll take time.

Error while running OBIA configuration configApps.bat

I am receiving error while running configapps.bat.
I have the following wnvironment installed:
64 Bit windows
Java 6 (JDK1.6.x)
Weblogic server 10.3.6 in software only mode
Ran OBIEE 11.1.1.7.0 RCU utility to create BIPLATFORM and MDS schemas.
configured OBIEE 11.1.1.7
Installed ODI 11.1.1.7 with All components and “Skip Repository Configuration”
Ran OBI Apps RCU to create schemas for:
ODI Master and Work Repositories (DEV_BIA_ODIREPO)
Oracle Business Applications Components (DEV_BIACOMP)
Oracle Business Analytics Datwarehouse (DEV_DW)
Update to MDS schema.
Installed BI Apps 11.1.1.7.1
Applied FMW Platform Patches
Updated BIACOMP Schema with ATGLite patch scripts
Everything was up and running until now, when i try to configure OBIA via running configApps.bat, it is getting stuck at ODI configuration.
Also the server seems to be going to idle/suspended state every now and after 5-6 mins of startup and i see this message repeated again and again in server log :

Has anyone encountered this issue and any idea how to resolve this.

The re-install has been successful. Didnt encounter any issues in any configuration.
However the waring still appears

Also in the log i am getting the following errors as well in the Weblogic server log
BEA -101020 Servelet failed with exception Java.lang.illegalstateexception: Cannot forward a response that is already committed
Oracle.as.management.mbeans.opmn OPMN.queryProcessStatus failed with the following exception oracle.as.management.opmn.optic.OpticBadConnectionException: Failed to create secure socket for OPMN
All patches were applied successfully, including weblogic one's.
Has anyone got any idea how to resolve these issues.

OBI Configuration issue in P6 8.3

Hi,
We have installed the OBIEE 11.1.1.7 and primavera p68.3
And configured the OBIEE with Primavera.
While clicking the reports tab in primavera application its showing an error like
"No Data is available because your p6user name is not valid for connecting to the reporting database. To resolve this issue , Contact your administrator."
Kindly assist me to fix this issue and move forward.
Note:
We are using single database for OBIEE and Primavera application.

You have to create a user in OBIEE with the same user name as the user in Primavera and give that user rights to the P6Reports (for example) with the correct rights and privileges. You can probably go into http://ipaddress:9704/xmlpserver and login as the local super user that you created to set up the corresponding user in the security section.

OBIEE 11g and Weblogic on different Servers

Hi every
Can we install OBIEE 11g on one server and weblogic and another server?
How to indicate in obi configuration, that weblogic is on another server?
Is there a manual or link that prove it?

Install BIServer and BIPresentaionServer on one server and deploy BIPS plug-in on Weblogic server where it is installed,so the both will talk with the weblogic server.

OBEO installation error - stuck in name change request

When installing outlook it automatically installs Oracle Beehive Extension for Outlook (OBEO). This is OK but.. during installation it downloads OBEO en request login information: account name and password.
In this screen I have made a spelling error in the account name (a space instead of a point). I didn’t see this and hit the 'sign in' button what of course returned the error
'The user name or password as entered may be incorrect. Re-enter your user information.'
the problem is that the 'account name' field CANNOT be changed what makes it impossible to enter the right account name.
I have checked the beehive wiki pages but cannot find anything to correct this. I have deleted outlook completely and re-installed it but as soon as the OBEO installation runs it keeps the old (wrong) account name without the option to change it.
Does anyone know how to solve this?

Click View/Modify Entire Profile
Oracle Email ID: Enter correct email address
Click Finish
Reboot machine
Install OBEO from MyDesktop

OBI EE 11.1.1.7.0 configuration issues (fail at Weblogic domain startup)

Hi,
I am installing OBI EE 11.1.1.7.0 on Windows 7 64-bit. Followed below steps:-
1. Install WLS 10.3.6 - Success
2. Create RCU for OBI - Success
3. Install OBI with "Software only Install" - Success
4. Run "config.bat" to configure OBI - Fail
The configuration fails at Step-1 , when setting domain for WLS. Would appreciate if someone can help me out here.

Friend, Even i am installating 11.1.1.7 in my Windows 7 (64 Bit)
At very 1st stage i got error..because i directly tried to install RCU by clicking on the rcu.bat , so 1st i have to install Weblogic server after seeing your steps...
Although there are many sites to help us installing OBI 11.1.1.7, i am currently following this http://satyaobieesolutions.blogspot.com.au/2013/05/obiee-111170-simplesoftware-installation.html which explained very well in detail....!!!!!!!
You might have missed at any step onthis..check once

1. Should we always use Natural Account Segment for mapping to Group Account Codes? I could see a customer is using different segment (Sub Account) to classify their accounts to various categories. Should we use combination of Natural Account and Sub Account to classify them in to various Oracle supplied group account numbers?
2.If i have to go with multiple segments for group account configuration, i could n't see a technical note from oracle support for OBIA 11.1.1.7.1 where ETL tool is ODI. Can we customize ODI using the technote available for Informatica based OBIA 7964 tech note? Are there any changes to apply on top of it?

Thanks for reply. We've multiple COAs(Three Companies with seperate COA) Also with in one COA natural Account is dependend on Sub GL Segment and Cost Center. In "file_group_acct_codes_ora" file we only map Natural Accounts.Now if we map only Natural Accounts to Group Account Number it will pull all data. e.g. Natural Account 123,Cost Center A and Sub GL Account 1 should be mapped to Cash. if we map 123 to Cash it will pull all data for all Sub GL Accounts and Cost Centers. Please let me know if you need more clarification.

Configuring OBI Apps 7.9.6.3 When Using Universal Adapter Exclusively

Hello experts,
I have been working for a few days in trying to configure a fiscal calendar with universal adapter flat files as the only data source because Great Plains is the data source and since Oracle does not support it, we use universal adapters. We have had limited success with this but in configuring OBI Apps 7.9.6.3 and doing normal configuration things such as configuring fiscal calendars and mapping GL accounts to group accounts using the Universal Adapter in DAC, there is virtually no documentation. In fact, when I Googled the universal adapter version of the group account codes file, there were 0 Google entries for it.
I am sending this new thread in the hope that someone out there has successfully configured OBI apps 7.9.6.3 using the Universal Adapter and can point me to documentation of any sort other than the normal Oracle OBI Apps Config Doc which only briefly mentions it and then takes file examples that are OOTB and unconfigured in any way.
Specifically, I need assistance in getting fiscal calendars working with the Universal Adapter. I have W_MCAL_DAY_D populated and all of the Gregorian calendar tables. However, the remaining W_MCAL* tables only have one row in each of them. I have an SR open about it but no success resolving it yet. While doing the configuration work, we tried to map GL accounts to group accounts but there is no account range in the Universal Adapter source file unlike the Oracle EBS version so I am unsure on how to configure group accounts. Oracle documentation only refers to Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft, and JDEdwards. I am unable to find anything regarding the Universal Adapter.
If anyone has done this sort of OBI apps configuration before, please respond or send me URLs for related documentation. I am completely stuck and SRs are not yet helping so I thought I would try this.

You will have to create 20 Application Roles matching the Responsibility Names.
Use one of the following methods to set up application roles:
Create application roles in the policy store with the same names as existing responsibilities or groups in the source applications. Then, add the new application roles as members of Oracle BI-specific application roles groups, and the users will inherit this membership based on their own responsibilities or roles in the OLTP application.
Add new Oracle BI-specific responsibilities (Oracle EBS and Siebel CRM Applications) or roles (PeopleSoft Enterprise applications) in the source applications, making sure their names match the object security application roles in Oracle BI Applications, and assign OLTP users to these new groups. The users will then inherit the application role membership in the same way as described in the preceding method.

All went well , upgraded weblogic to 10.3.6
When I run the following command create the wallet files,

Change the contents of C:\Middleware\utils\config\10.3\setHomeDirs.cmd
from:

I want to configure Oracle Business Intelligence Apps 11.1.1.8.1 installed on Linux with ODI ver 11.1.1.7.
Can anybody please provide:
1) A tutorial about how to setup ODI for OBIA 11.1.1.8.1?
2) Than how to perform functional configuration using Oracle Data Integrator, Oracle BI Applications Configuration Manager and Functional Setup Manager?
3) How to Create, Run and Customize ETL in Oracle Data Integrator?

a) Do what most people do and read the documentation (Oracle Business Intelligence Applications 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.8.1) Documentation Library) that comes with the product, installation details will be documented. No one is going to go through all the installation steps for you in these forums. The links I provided before are good starting points. If you are still struggling get hire a consultant to help you out.
b) The ODI studio is just a client so you can install it on whatever OS you like. The repositories are simply databases and can be installed on a database whether it is hosted on Windows or Linux etc and the agent is Java so again is platform independent. You can configure the setup distribution however you want as long as the repositories can be connected to via JDBC from the studio client.

How to install & configure OBIA with Informatica & DAC in oracle R12.

I have OBIEE 11.1.1.5 on windows and oracle EBS R12.1.1 on server, and i have to install OBIA 7.9.6.3, Informatica 9.0.1 Hotfix 2 and DAC 10.1.3.4.1 on windows, and i don't know how to interconnect with each other.
So could anyone has the step by step installation & Configuration process then please guide me.

OBI 11G Configuration

Hi Experts,
I have OBI 10g in my system now i want to install 11G while installing 11G we have to uninstall 10G version...? is this mandatory.I want to keep both versions is it possible to keep both versions in the system.

Hi,
You don't need uninstall 10g.
But your configuration is low. Windows 7 takes approximately 1gb ram then you have also 10g version. I didn't remeber how much ram it takes.
My advice is use sample installation. When installing 11g version you will see three option.
1. Sample
2. Enterprise
3. Software only
Sample installation option is best for your configuration. If you install enterprise option it will take min 2.5gb ram.

I moved forward a little bit :)
I tried to Restore the Prebuilt repository using 'Restore Content' in the Power center admin console.
It gives me the following error.

OBIA 7.9.5.2 Applications Configuration Manager time zone error

We are installing and configuring OBIA 7.9.5.2 ODI release for Oracle Financial Analytics...
After seting up Oracle BI Applications Configuration Manager, we logged in using the default userid (data_biappstx)...
When trying to access "Admininster ELT Parameters" we are getting the following error in a pop-up window...
*"Unexpected exception caught: java.sql.SQLDataException, msg=ORA-01882: timezone region not found*

We are using Oracle 10G(10.2.0.1.0) database for data_biappstx schema and jdk 1.6.0_14...

Is your Database running in different timezone than the machine running configuration manager?
Googling for error, found a potential solution: (Please let us know if this resolves your issue)
Check your Windows registry if DisableAutoDaylightTimeSet exists in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation. If it exists, either set the value to 0 or delete it completely from the registry. There's a known issue with JRE and Windows for this.
(The above should be done on oracle database machine, and database & configuration manager might need restart).
