I'm plannig to install OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1,BI Apps 7.9.6 ,Informatica,DAC, on AIX 6.1.
Can you please help me installing OBIEE on AIX, If you have any screen shots that will be more helpful.

I too faced same issue when was installing obiee 10g on Unix.
Please follow the below steps.
solution:
root@s /]# lsof -w -n -i tcp:23791
COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE NODE NAME

[root@s /]# kill -9 28910

Yes you need to do software only install other wise libraries will not get installed properly it fails.
To scale out your installation using the Software Only Install type on a shared network drive and with a shared Fusion Middleware home, you must specify the same domain home for all computers in your cluster. This can be accomplished by setting the same value in the Domain Home field in the Scale BI System Details screen of the Configuration Assistant. Using the same domain home for all computers in a scaled-out system with a shared Middleware home is required to start one or more managed servers within a domain through Node Manager.

Need OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 Installation File for Windows 64 Bit

Hi,
I know that oracle has stopped supporting OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 hence we couldn't download it from oracle.com.
We are in process of upgrading our existing OBIEE version 11.1.1.5.0 to newest one. Before to that we need to configure UAT with horizontal clustering. To cluster the existing version i need OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 installer.
If anybody could share external link or make it available.

Issue with OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 Installation on Windows 2008 64-bit machine

I'm following the below steps to install OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 Installation on Windows 2008 64-bit machine. However the installation is unsuccessful as it fails at the "Domain Creation" step. It would be very helpful and greatly appreciated if any workaround is provided. Thanks!

Oracle DB 9201 installation on AIX 5L with 32 bit architecture!!

Hi,
I have installed AIX 5L on 32 bit kernel machine.
Thereafter I have installed Oracle 9.2.0.1 Database!!
But whenever I am running sqlplus or listener it gives me an error that "you cannot run 64 bit application on 32 bit machine"
but I am able to run DBCA or NETCA command from oracle home directory & it runs properly. It also create & configure the listener but due to the above mismatch it could not start!!
Can any one help !!

10g rac deinstall and 11.2.0.3 rac installation on aix 6.1

I have to perform deinstallation of 2 node 10g rac on aix and on same setup i need to install 2 node 11.2.0.3 rac on aix 6.1.
As being a newbie in this please guide me from where to find the exact documentation for the same.
Also, In linux we need to install oracleasm rpm, In AIX do we need the same?

OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 installation on windows 2008 R2 64 bit failing

I installed OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 version on windows 2008 R2 64bit;installation has no issues all went well and sample app displayed fine.But, i see scheduler is not starting and also we deployed our code but reports failing with following oracle oci error

i also installed and verified by installing 11g client;PATH variable setting etc. no exact solution.i would like to see if any other also facing same issue with OBIEE 11.1.1.6 on windows 2008 R2 64 bit OS.

i didnt get what you mean by rpd client.,if you mean Admin tool, installation is OBIEE 'simple installation' type which includes Admin tool.
coming to connectivity, no from physical layer you cannot view data as the packaged dll file (nqsdbgatewayoci10g64.dll ) is not registering in Windows 2008 64 bit,which i even tried manually.
since above step is failing, i also installed a 11g db client(to divert oci connections) which is working fine for oracle connectivity and updated PATH environment variables but this issue is still in place.. as reports still pointing to Oracle_BI1/bifoundation/server/bin/ dll files
please share your thoughts

OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 installation on Win 7 / 32bit OS

Tell me one thing, installing OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 is on win 7 32 bit OS is possible ?
I was trying to install it on my Lenovo thinkpad T430 laptop, but i t always failing at "Configuring Domain" failed, i tried for atleast 20 times but no luck.
My Environment details are
OS : Win 7, 32 bit OS
Database: Oracle 11g R2 SE
Java : Jdk1.7/Jdk1.6
RAM : 4GB
I set the below Environment variables
TEMP : C:\TEMP
TMP : C:\TMP
CLASSPATH : .;C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\QTSystem\QTJava.zip;C:\Java\jdk17\lib
Path : C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\QTSystem\;C:\Program Files\CgScripts\Support Tools\;C:\Java\jdk17\bin;
JAVA_HOME : C:\Java\jdk17\bin
Do i need to set up any thing apart from these, all above variables i have mentioned are pointing to right path ??????

install OBIEE 11g 4GB Ram required but 32 Bit OS Ram will show only 2.9GB Only?
3GM RAM will work but it will be running very slow (for practice obiee11g apps simple ok. make sure can can't use more application install) you go with 2.9GB ..practicing

Create Domain failed if it is failed almost remaining also fails finally my installation failed.?
make sure static IP address configured properly (looback adaptor) and make sure u r jdk is running and environment variable working condition
OBIEE 11g 64bit:- What type we need to select means(Simple/Enterprise, Software)
your case go with simple install (default config.) because enterprise/software only will need some more memory due to weblogic separate install

Oracle 11g Client for OBIEE 11.1.1.6 installation in AIX

I have two servers : Server A & Server B.
AIX- Server A holds database & AIX-Sever B : I need to install OBIEE11.1.1.6
My question is do I need to install Oracle client in OBIEE server B to communicate with Database server A as my metadata schema ( MDS, BIPLATFORM) will be in ServerA.
Also I came to know that while installaing OBIEE11g , teh installer takes care of the Oracle client configuration ....under folder OracleB1. thus no need to install oracle client separately before installaing obiee11g.
Pls. let me now.

Try with 2nd option and lets see how it works.

I'm installing OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 on Windows 7 Enterprise serv pack 1 64 bit computer. Installation went well till domain creation and domain creation failed.

OBIEE 11.1.1.7.0 installation hangs at Creating Domain

I am trying this installation for N times...Windows 7 professional environment, 6Gb memory.
Did several tries suggested by forum and web... like temp directory env variable is C:\TEMP and C:\TMP, disabled antivirus, installed java 6 at c:\Java, installed JRockit at c:\Java... Disable the sleep time, etc... and always hangs at the creating domain. Task Manager shows java and javaw with 0% CPU..
Loopback is installed and ok. Tried with Simple install and Enterprise Install.
I just checked the Cookbook: Installing and Configuring Oracle BI Applications 11.1.1.7.1 and it does not mention at issue at Enterprise Installation...
Pls. any hint or help ?

you don't need to install Java, as Java is part of the installables.
You might need to check whether your installables are not corrupted.
you don't need to set any env variables too. if you have created them, remove them.
is your machine 32 or 64 bit. what you are installing is it 32 ro 64bit do they match with the machine?
do you have a data base and is the RCU installed? ( if you are trying enterprise install)
for every fresh install, drop and recreate RCU schemas.
do you have Administrator access to your machine? with out this OBIEE will not be able to create folder etc.
Run the installation batch file as Administrator.

OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 installation error creating domain error

Hi Gurus,
I am trying to install OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 32 bit in windows 7 RCU installed successfully but when i am installing 11G in at configuration progress for creating domain it is showing 0% only for long time and finaly it is showing creating domain failed.
when i checked log files in the inventory(c:\oracle\inventory) folder i found one error file as below
*'export' is not recognized as an internal or external command,*
operable program or batch file.
how i have to fix this error i tried more times it is showing the same error please any one help me.

Still i am unable to install after making all configuration which you have posted in the above posts and it is showing some different error as below:
In Err file (C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\logs) it is showing

In OUT file (C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\logs) it is showing

To continue, OPatch will do the following:
*[Back up for restore] : Back up 3 files for Oracle Home restore in case of patching error.*
and you suggested that to install software only what is the difference between simple and software only install any where i will try that and get back to you.
