OBIEE 11.1.1.5 installation failed at: Create A Sinstance
hello,
I am trying to install OBIEE 11.1.1.5 in my Windows 7 laptop. But, it is always failing at Create A Sinstance: while configuring. I did the following things. Please let me know where I am doing wrong.
1. Ran RCU to create BI_PLATFORM and BI_MDS schemas
2. Setup Microsoft loop back adaptor and configured it with the static IP.
3. Changed machine name.
4. Updated Listener.ora and tnsnames.ora by replacing localhost with custom machine what I gave in step 3.
5. Change hosts file in network/admin folder with the IP address that gave in microsoft loop back adapter and assigned machine name to it.
6. Restarted Oracle database and everything is up and running.
7. Started OBIEE 11.1.1.5 installation.
8. Everything went well while installing but it is failing at Create ASinstance. I tried to continue but all other steps are failing.
Please guide me if I am missing something. I tried to create Oracle instance path in environment variables and ran opmnctl start all process manually too. But, still no luck. Please advise.
my machine configuration:
OS: Window 7 64 bit (But, I am installing 32 bit obiee 11g)
RAM: 4GB
processor: Intel CORE I5
Hi Krishna,
Thanks for the link.
looks like the same way I installed. I think there is something else I am missing. I guess this is causing because of the oracle instance creation for BI services. Please let me know, if you have any more information on the same.

OBIEE 11.1.1.7 installation Issues - Fails on Creating a Domain
Hi,
I have completed all the steps mentioned in different posts in this forum regarding my error, but none of them helps. After comprehensive searching i have tried to install OBIEE with these steps also.
1st time installation:
1. Followed simple steps
a) Created schema using RCU on MS SQL Server successfully.
b) After that ran the setup of OBIEE, it succeeded all the way, but when it was configuring it stuck on Creating Domain, and eventually failed after 180 minutes.
2nd time installation:
I completely removed, OBIEE from my system, with all the registry entries included. Started a fresh installation after reading all these forum posts. but still it failed again on Creating a domain, this time i kept on re-trying for 3 times, it failed and it took me about 315 minutes overall.
a) Create a loop back adapter.
b) Assigned that adapter an IP (10.10.10.10). Configured the /etc/host file reflecting my adapter IP and hostname.domain name.
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 WPKZS255082-XLZ.TX.MYDOMIN.COM WPKZS255082-XLZ
10.10.10.10 WPKZS255082-XLZ.TX.MYDOMIN.COM WPKZS255082-XLZ
(Above is my /etc/hosts file.
c) Installed Java JRE & JDK (7) on C:\JAVA and set the environmental variables in PATH (System Variable).
My System Configurations are:
Dell Latitude - E6520
8 GB Ram - 64-bit Architecture.
Windows 7 ULTIMATE

ThanksHello 0ad6e3fe-e3d8-4867-8ba9-780c4a7150ff,
Your name must be hard to type, let alone remember. Please choose a more speaking name / handle for this forum since it's inconvenient talking to an alphanumeric string rather than a person.
You seem to have port issues:
java.lang.Exception: Unable to find a free port in range 7001 and 7500
java.lang.Exception: Unable to find a free port in range 9500 and 10000
java.lang.Exception: Unable to find a free port in range 9500 and 10000
However you're on Windows, so I suggest you check the last post in this thread: Re: OBIEE 11.1.1.5 installation Error on windows 7 64 bit
BTW: Doing a google search as well as a normal forum search bring up that thread and the very first search result for you issue. -

Edited by: 931665 on May 2, 2012 10:16 PMHi,
What sort of installation you are trying to do..???
Enterprise or Software only..?
From where you have downloaded the OBIEE 11g 11.1.1.6.0 dump..? edelivery or from other source..??
Your error is saying that patch +"p6599470_111070_Generic.zip"+ is missing.
Down load it from oracle and apply the patch. The details, How to apply the patch will be provided in that zip file only.
Thanks. -

As a workaround, Add the following entry to the end of your hosts file and then reboot:
127.0.0.1 stafas12.us.oracle.com stafas12
Oracle Support - 26 November 2011 00:18:23 GMT+11:00 [ODM Proposed Solution Justif]
=== ODM Proposed Solution Justif ===
This should then stop the call to DNS to query DNS for the rouge server name until it timeout which is causing the problem.

This issue will be fixed in 11.1.1.6 version which we don't have an ETA yet.
The workaround is that you need to add stafas12.us.oracle.com and stafas12 to your hosts file and provide it with a dummy IP address (possibly 127.0.0.1)

Camera Raw 6.7 Update for Mac: Installation Failed error message. Update downloaded directly from Adobe website. Newly purchased Mac Workbook Pro, OS 10.10, using Photoshop CS5. Other updates successfully accomplished. Camera Raw 6.7 Update was downloaded multiple times with multiple installation attempts. Any recommendations?
thanks for the prompt response...i appreciate it. according to the link you listed, that's correct. the strange thing is that prior to the upgrad to mac os 10.8.4, photoshop CS5 was working just fine and i was able to open my canon raw files with my current camera raw plug-in version 6.7 which adobe has indicated is the last camera raw update they'll be offering for cs 5
so it's clearly an issue related to the "upgrade" of the os. seems like every solution creates 6 new problems...further evidence for the notion that if it ain't broke don't fix it! thanks again. -
I have Photoshop Elements 10 and Premier Elements 10 installed on my PC. Both were installed from discs that I bought a few years ago. I recently purchased the upgrade (by download) for both applications to version 13. In accordance with the (scant) instructions received by email, I downloaded the four files required from the Adobe site. I subsequently ran the .exe files, which in turn created directories on my PC, including set-up.exe files for both applications. When I run the setup files, I get an error message stating that the installer failed to initialise. The error message advised me to download the Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem. That tool does not exist. I then sought assistance from the Abobe support site, initially using the hyperlink suggestions, which were of no use, then using the chat function. The operator kept trying to get me to do something with something called 'Creative Cloud'; which I am not familiar with, and do not use. He then instructed me to download and run a CS5 cleaner tool; however, none of the choices offered by that tool include my issue, or either Photoshop Elements or Premier Elements. I am reluctant to uninstall version 10 of the programs in case I end up losing the lot and therefore wasting even more money than the purchase price for this upgrade.
All I want to do is upgrade my two applications from version 10 to version 13. I have paid the requisite fee but it clearly does not work. I appear to have totally wasted my money. Can anyone please tell me how to get it to work? I do not want to have anything to do with the so-called ‘Creative Cloud’ as I have no idea what it is, and I do not want to lose what I already have (and have paid for previously).
I have tried for a few days to access the so-called 24/7 chat assistance but appeared to have been locked out as every time I try to access it, I get a message that the (24/7) chat is closed. Adobe has taken my money for a product that does not work, and also refuse to help me fix it.
I am very frustrated with a product I bought that does not work, and a 24/7 support service that clearly is not 24/7, and which refuses to assist me. Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to get this to work? Rod.Hi,
Can you please share the logs?
You can use the Adobe Log Collector tool (Log Collector Tool) and share the corresponding zip file @ [email protected]

Photoshop 13.1.2 for Creative Cloud
Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7What is the current version of Ps (Help->System Info), if you have 13.0.1.2 already applied then you need to re-install Ps to get Ps 13.1.2.
As 13.1.2 is a subscription patch this would not get applied over 13.0.1.2.
If this still does not resolves your issue, Kindly mail me installer logs.
For Mac:
"Library/Logs/Adobe",
For Win:
Program Fies(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers
Please mail me @ [email protected]
