Obiee 11.1.1.6.11 - dashboards issue

we have installed obiee 11.1.1.6.11 on windows 2008 r2 (64-bit)
Node 1 (Windows 2008 R2)- Database
Node 2 (Windows 2008 R2)- obiee 11.1.1.6.11 and OBIA
We have started all the WebLogic and OPMN Services and all the services are successfully started. We are able browse and connect to Enterprise Manager, Console and Analytics web site without any issues.
From back end - all the OPMN Services are UP and running

we are not able trace what could be the issue here.. and why these components status is down (red color)

The variable DISABLE_CACHE_HIT is used to enable or disable Oracle BI Server result cache hits and not the presentation server cache. So the behavior seems to be correct. You can manage the presentation server cache settings in hte instanceconfig.xml file. We have a problem in OBIEE(11.1.1.6.8) dashboard prompts after the upgrade of Chrome browser.. The values of dashboard prompts are not shown to user ( with message "Please wait" ) We had this problem in Internet Explorer 10. So we had announced the users to have minimum browser versions Chrome 12+ , Firefox 17+ , Internet Explorer 9.x as its is declared in certification matrix. Now after upgrade (automatically)in Chrome version 30.0.1599.101 m , we have the same problem and the only working browser remaining is Mozilla Firefox. What should we do to prevent this without upgrade or patch ? Is there any workaround ?

OBIEE 11.1.1.5 Memory Leak issues

Hardware: 64 bit Red Hat Linux Enterprise server 5.2(Tikanga)
Software: OBIEE 11.1.1.5 64 bit
Issue: The memory usage on the server slowly creeps up and occupies almost all of the available memory, then starts swapping.
In our case we have a 48GB RAM 2CPU Linux box on which OBIEE 11.1.1.5 was installed and once we startup Weblogic Server, NodeManager, Managed Server, and OPMN, the memory usage starts at ~4GB and slowly creeps up to ~45GB. The processes do not release the memory back even after shutting down all the services (OPMN, Managed Server, Weblogic Server and Node Manager).
The memory is released only after the Linux box is rebooted.
We have the same software on different boxes which have 8GB RAM and the behavior is same there too. It occupies all of 8GB RAM and then swaps over another 4GB space. Is there a software leak with OBIEE 11.1.1.5 or is it a configuration issue?
We found similar issues reported in forums at Memory Leak on OBIEE webserver 11G (linux version) But there was no resolution.

We're having a similar issue, or at least we think we are on our 64-bit VM Windows environment, running OBIEE 11.1.1.3. Our PROD environment was OS level patched last Tuesday and rebooted, and now it's super slow and using way more RAM than before. Even if we reboot the server, our Managed server (bi_server1) is not working properly. Basically in DEV the Admin and Managed servers are using around 900 MB or RAM, in our PROD env that isn't working properly, the Admin server seems fine at about 900 MB of RAM, but our Managed server is up around 1.4 GB and now taking about 45 minutes to start instead of around 6. We also logged an SR about a week ago to no avail so far, and as you said, it's been going back and forth with the OBIEE and WebLogic teams. If anyone knows anything about this it would be great to hear it!

Cache issue in OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 dashboards

Hi,
last week I disabled cache in EM and restarted BI Services but OBIEE keep hitting presentation server cache (BI server cache is purged manually). I restarted BI services couple of times but dashboards keep hitting presentation server cache. I edited each and every report and checked bypass presenttion server cache and set prefix "SET VARIABLE DISABLE_CACHE_HIT=1;" after doing this dashboards sent queries to database as expected. I am expecting this without doing bypass presentation server cache and set disable cache hit=1......
do you know how can I achieve that?
and one more question, do I need to clear the presentation server cache manually in server? that might be causing problem? is there any other way I can manage? what about automation and how?

OBIEE 11g: Export to entire dashboard issue

My dashboard contains four pages and each page contains one report.
if I export to entire dashboard then am getting first 25 rows from each report only.
How to get all rows from each report.
Note: Each report contains around 2000 rows. That's why I didn't put display all rows by default.

Hi,
Edit the each dashboard and check Print properties.
1. Edit the Dashboard
2. In Tools select 'Print Options' i.e down to 'Dashboard Properties' option
3. select Print Rows 'All' instead of 'Visible'
4. Now save and export the dashboard.
Now you will be able to export all the data from the dashboard report.

Sharing My Dashboard issues

I use OBIEE 11.1.1.6.8
I'm an end-user with no administrator knowledge/access to OBIEE. At my business, I had to change my log-in name which affected my ability to share a dashboard.
Under my old login name, the OBIEE system created a 'My Dashboard' which I posted links to several reports/analyses I built. I was able to share this bookmark link with other users. The administrators then transferred all of my reports/analyses under my new log-in name, and now when I go to share the bookmark link of 'My Dashboard', other users get an access denied message.
Any idea what happened?

Bi Dashboards issue works properly some times and after not display pointers data and give un expected error and throw login window

I have toff situation where we deployed bi dashboards in our site and it works some time and some times not,
and some times it keep loading and throw a login window.
works when
we restart performance point service and if not work
we re create secure store service and generated new key and create new pps service application
before that we stopped secure store and pps service using c.a in application server
we are using ssas for datasource to connect from dashboard designer
we have seperate server for ssas dbs
seperate application server running: pps service and secure store service
two web front ends: one of running secure store
1 Domain controller + central admin service running
some times after 4 -5 hours bi dashboards works , we dashboards not display data and throw un expected errors,
also when we try to connect using a dashboard designer from a seperate client machine in same domain ,we have same issue , we unable to connect to ssas datasource server, and if connect some times unable to deploy dashboards.
we tried every thin icreased server time out values in ssas server

OBIEE 11g: Subscribe to Agents through Dashboard page?

Hi all,
I have created a set of agents which would deliver personalized content to subscribing users based on their OBIEE username. The agents work great, however I am stuck at finding a simpler way to allow various users to subscribe to said agents.
The standard subscription method is cumbersome: Go to Catalog, browse to where agents are, Click More, select Subscribe. I don't want my users wandering around through a pretty thick catalog only to subscribe to an agent. Chances are they'll wander off, mess up, fail to subscribe or not even bother to try in the first place. What I would rather do is have them go to a dashboard and click on something to subscribe directly, without caring where the agents are located.
A dodgy workaround I have implemented is to put up a link to an URL which is the catalog location of the agents. Users would click on that link and they will see the list of agents, allowing them to subscribe/unsubscribe. Still, I would like to simplify this further, if possible. Any ideas?

I am trying to display ‘help’ section on every dashboard or Create a separate Help Dashboard Page …
Tried using "Link or Image" object option and Uploaded the pdf’s to Help file *(/Shared Folders/Help)* – Let say the PDF Name is Employee_Expenses.pdf
So I am using the URL for link object as

Image = fmap:Images/help.gif (Do I need to have help.gif in /Shared Folders/Help folder Cause I don’t have it…)

OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.5) installation issue on solaris 10

I am trying to install OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.5) on solaris 10 and i am facing the following issue once i run the "./runInstaller"

OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.5.0) - Issue with starting Node Manager

Hi,
Have anyone faced an issue with starting Node Manager in OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.5.0)? OS is 64 bit Linux, WebLogic is 10.3.5. I used the software-install method and followed by running config.sh. Everything completed successfully. I updated the catalog and rpd location in the FMW control screen.
To get it activated I bounced services and when I try to start Node Manager it gives below error --

I see the same issue reported in ML OBIEE 11g - Node manager fails to start upon upgrade [ID 1329442.1] and WebLogic Server: Node Manager Startup is Failing with java.io.IOException: Unsupported cypher suite [ID 1329260.1] I tried to modify commEnv.sh. But it didnt help me.
Please let me know if anyone have faced similar issue and what exactly did you do to resolve it.

Hi,
There are Two types of Cipher suites --- Certicom Cipher Suite and SunJSSE Equivalent Cipher Suite. And with Weblogic 10.3.5, you are using Sun JSSE Cipher Suite, and by default Node Manager uses the Certicom Cipher Suite.
In the nodemanager.properties, Add CipherSuite=SSL_RSA_EXPORT_WITH_RC4_40_MD5, save and restart Node Manager.

Scorecard Dashboard Issue

Hi all i am placing an issue in the Score card.
I had created a Scorecard and placed the Strategy Tree, Strategy Map of the Scorecard in the Dashboard.
I had created the Users, Groups and Roles, also assigned the Users to the respective Groups and Roles.
I had set the permissions for the User to view the Scorecard Dashboard where I placed the Strategy Tree, Strategy Maps in the Dashboard.
With the Weblogic User I was able to see the Strategy Tree, Strategy Maps in a diagrammatical representation like the actual view of the Strategy Tree, Strategy Maps.
But when I had login as the User and opened Scorecard Dashboard then the Strategy Tree was displayed in a tabular view in the Hierarchical way, it is not displaying the diagrammatical representation like how the Strategy tree looks like.
I had created users, groups and roles in the Em and Console and trying to login but not able to view the Strategy Tree view in the Dashboard when i login as user.

Hi,
you should load or refresh your query before the compoents load
Queries or connections that are set to Refresh Before Components Are Loaded.
This is the default setting for a query.
If you have any queries or connections set to refresh before components are loaded the Initializing message phase stays up until they have all completed.
for this we can achive with two method
to achieve this while making query check
or in query refresh button or with the help or connection refresh button in there behaviour we can check that option

Dashboard Issue in Mavericks

I installed Mavericks Recently on my Late 2009 i Mac.
When I go to use Dashboard I get an error. It directs to a web page as detailed below.
HEALTH: ok
NAME: fingerprint-1.07
SERVER: pd0-rtbs13-ads01.sea1.audsci.net

MIght be corrupted Dashboard preferences.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dashboard.client.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.dashboard.client.plist file to the Trash.
Restart your Mac then try the Dashboard again.

SAP BEST PRACTISE BI-Purchasing Volume Dashboard issue

I am working on Purchasing Volume Dashboard (from SAP BEST PRACTISE BI package), I adapted Crystal Reports sources of this dashboard so that they connect to our local database and successfully generated the Export.xls, I Imported this Export.xls file into Purchasing Volume Dashboard.xls, added and configured Live Office Connections (ticking"Refresh before components are loaded" for each Live Connections.
The issue is that when I click on PREVIEW the four components (Charts and Scorecard) don't refresh simultaneously.
I have to click once on REFRESH button to have the first component refreshed with data then to click again to have the second component refreshed then click again and again !
I don't understand why those components don't refresh in the same time !!
Did one of you ever encountered this issue ?

Hi,
Make sure your web service URL correct in Live Office connection and also in Xcelsius data manager.
Did you check all connection in refresh button proprties? you may try selecting "Refresh after component are Loaded" in Refresh button properties Behavior tab.
I think Xcelsius refresh are serial refresh so it may be possible that first component refresh is still in progress but you are expecting other component to refresh.
Click on "Enable Load Cursor" in data manager's Usage tab, it will give you visibility of refresh. If anything refreshing you will see hour glass.

Obiee 11.1.1.7.0 install issue on linux

I am trying to install obiee 11.1.1.7.0 on linux, i have installed oracle 11g and rcu successfully and trying to install obiee 11.1.1.7.0 , getting below error.
INST-08109:an ORACLE_HOME environment variable should not be set.
If any one face the same issue please provide the inputs here.
