OBIEE 11g: Bugs Fixed in 11.1.1.6.5 Patch Set

Hello, I have a question about the patches that apply.
I have installed the product BI Publisher Enterprise 11g (11.1.1.6.0)
I detected a bug:
bug 13791065 - UNGROUP OF A SUBGROUP WITH AN EXPRESSION DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY
This bug was fixed in OBIEE 11g: Bugs Fixed in 11.1.1.6.5 Patch Set
¿could apply this patch to version BI Publisher Enterprise? Because this patch cotent the fix bug 13791065
I think not because,...this patch only apply in OBIEE Enterprise 11g and I have BIP Enterprise 11g
Patch 14630670: UPDATE FOR BI PUBLISHER ENTERPRISE 11.1.1.6.X SEPTEMBER 2012 is the last patch for me?
This latest version does not contain the bug fix 13791065.

I believe the 11.1.1.4 was released but only in OTN, not for everyone (I'm not 100% sure about this...) . However I know that a certain bug (9973004) was solved in 11.1.1.4, and this bug does not appear in the 11.1.1.5 list. That could happen with many other bugs, they could be solved in 11.1.1.4 but not appear in any list.

you need to download the latest OPatch by searching http://support.oracle.com for 'How To Download And Install The Latest OPatch Version [ID 274526.1]'
After which you can start with the Patching of OBIEE.

Unable to take 2800 rows in time series chart in obiee 11g --bug in obiee

in x axis there are 2800 rows containg timestap values and and y axis it contains values but it shocking that it is not not taking even 2800 rows in charts

Just FYI, you can update <chart> conntent under </ServerInstance> look at the <views> tag and put like below..

Copy cell content in OBIEE 11g

I am unable to copy the cell content from OBI dashboard.
Is this OBIEE 11g bug? I am using OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0
Any way to resolve this ??

Hi,
This workaround may not be the best but might serve the purpose.
I selected a cell and created a group for the value. Then I selected that group and viewed it's definition. This showed me a single value (which I wanted to copy). I copied the value and pasted to another application.
This worked in analysis as well as on dashboard. I could create a group of more than one cell and copy all the values of that new group to paste to another application.
I then deleted the groups. While using dashboard, I simply clicked 'Back' or 'Return' to remove the groups automatically.

Bugs in OBIEE 11g

Hi,
I have been working intesively with OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.6.2) last months, but unfortunately I have discovered lots of bugs in different areas. Also when working in Answers creating analysis/reports the user interface is not very good, e.g. to delete a filter I have to aim for the red delete cross since it is hidden. Going from one pivot table to another table/graph I have to go to the compound layout first instead of as in 10g be able to go directly to other tables/graphs. I could have written a long list with issues like this and yes I have added service requests to Oracle, but sometimes it feels like I am using half of the day adding or answering SR.
I am actually a big fan of OBIEE and have been working with it for many years as chief architect, but have to say I am a bit disappointed by 11g as it appears - although there are some very good functionality compared to 10g as well. I was hoping for quicker and better improvements, but new versions have fixed some bugs and added other all the time.
Any other views or experiences with 11g? Just curious.

Yes. me too faced so many issues..
1) Object level securiry - (custom application role having issue with grading dashboard/catalog access issue also
latency in obiee11g application role)
2) Replace null as 0 in obiee11g pivot table view

3) After enabling custom SSL - the job manager unable to connect (issue with job manager SSL config)
4) Performance issue - (IE8 Browser issue, analysis)
5) BI Composer - date filter not working (raised SR and confirm as bug its fix 11.1.1.7.0)
6) Some times unable to delete users/roles/group from EM (after deleting users from physical file system-jan-data.xml file then its ok, raised SR confirm as bug ...team it may fix feature realse.
7) obiee11g with weblogic10.3.6 version-->EM--> mapping users/groups to the application role its requires to add one by one..(weblogic 10.3.5 version ok) {i.e: it's unable select multiple users/group at a time}
8) some times crashing obiee11g server issue
9) obiee11.1.1.6.0 RPD --> after importing table from DB ..the data type are changed ..its require to change it manually.

OIM 11g R2 PS1 - Bugs fixed info required

Hi ,
I have OIM 11g R2 with BP 06 installed on my system and want upgrade to latest version so that majority of bug fixes are incorporated. As both BP07 and PS1 are in market.
While checking for BP7 fixes we noticed that there are certain fixes that we really require in our application like:
Bug:16315001 : GTC mapping image on migration to other environment is not displayed.
Bug:16506870 : De-provisioning of user accounts via the Set User De-provisioned Date scheduled job fails.
Bug:16347855 : Users are able to submit a request for modify account although nothing is modified on the form fields.
But while checking for release notes of PS1 (11.1.2.1) i did not notice any such fixes, rather there were some certification exception fixes ,new menu called "Certification" in Sysadmin Console and Introduced new menu called "Inbox" in Identity/Self Service Console
So my question is that to apply above fixes we need install the BP7 patch separately, considering PS1 is not a cumulative one and then install PS1

How to fix the text field width wir=thout wrapping in obiee 11g

Hi,
In OBIEE 11g I want the text filed width should be fixed as 30 character, at the same time if the width beyond 30 characters it should not be wrapped.
To achieve this we went to column properties and removed the wrap check box and in Additional Formatting Options section we set the width size as 30. But still if the text size is beyond 30 getting wrapped

XE isn't patch-able, unfortunately- eg. in the section ...Major Features Not Included at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17781_01/license.112/e18068/toc.htm#XELIC116 a "patch set" is one of the "not included" items
One could install one of the full release editions, get it patched, and upgrade an XE instance with the patch-able edition, but access to patches requires a support agreement.

How to show all the rows in PRint html option in obiee 11g

I am facing a issue in obiee 11g(windows 2003 server). I have 2 environments (SIT & dev)
In dev I am not facing any issue but in SIT when i print the report in html only 1-25 rows are displayed.

In your Dev Server its configured on instanceconfig.xml file that why are getting the all rows with setting pdf/print control properties.

•First 25 Rows — Displays the first 25 rows of data for the view. The number that is used for the First, Previous, and Next buttons is specified by the Rows per Page field in the "Table Properties dialog: Style tab".
•Previous 25 Rows — Displays the previous 25 rows of data for the view.
•Next 25 Rows — Displays the next 25 rows of data for the view.
•Display maximum (500) rows per page — Allows you to display as many as the maximum number of rows per page at one time temporarily. The default is 500. The administrator can specify a different maximum value that is displayed on the tooltip for the button using the MaxVisibleRows element in the configuration file.

Here is fix for Bug.
Patch Number: 12926133 for Windows 64 bit.
"Even though the readme does not show it the fix for bug 12926133 includes the fix to bug 12391045."
We tested and its works 100% for us.

External Table Security with OBIEE 11G is not working properly.

Hello Everyone,
we just upgraded for OBIEE from 10G to 11G.
not what we had in 10G for object level and data level security is that we were using "External table" and LDAP Authentication.
Now for User we are capturing Groups in that table, so basically we have Group-level security.
so in that case we are creating Groups in External Table, RPD & Catalog.
Now we upgraded OBIEE to 11G, there we have totally different concept for security.
So here in what we have to do to implement the same concept. because we have created the Application Roles in Admin Console and Groups in Enterprise Manager with same name, and assigned same Groups to same Application Role.
now while applying security in frontend we can catalog groups options too!!! so do we have to create the same groups in catalog too?? and while applying the security to catalog which one do we need to use? "Application Role" OR "Catalog Groups"???

How to Hide a column in OBIEE 11g

Hi,
I am trying to hide a column of presantation layer table in OBIEE 11g. But it is not working.
I am doing the follwoing.
Open the permission tab of the column.
Given no access to Everyone.
Given No access the user/Application Role.
When i go to web, the column is getting displayed in the table list. But, when i select the column and press the result button, it is not giving the result.
It means, by doing the above steps it is restricting the data but visibility of column is already there.
Same way it works for OBIEE 10g. Could you please let me know this feature has been removed from 11g or if it is still there then how we can achieved that.

It's a bug in OBIEE 11.1.1.5.
Bug 12352010: RESTRICTED COLUMNS SHOULD NOT SHOW IN SUBJECT AREA
It is fixed in the version 11.1.1.6.

Well, what beloblotskiy says above is true but I suspect you will want to pass parameters to your Google chart from your Answers request? If that is the case then it is more tricky because you would need to use some javascript in a narrative view and - here's the annoying part - there is a bug in 11g which means the narrative view does not accept HTML markup. It is due to be fixed in 11.1.1.4.

Login issue in OBIEE 11g

Hi Experts,
We are using OBIEE 11g
We are facing the strange issue while accessing the presentation services login page.
I had uploaded the RPD file using EM,it is working for 1 hour with out any issue.
After some time the fallowing error is coming. then we are not able to access presentation services,
I had observed all the services are down in EM>Capasity manage ment tab.
Longing screen is coming ,but after entering the credentials ,it is showing login into…but not at all opening the window.
Error connecting to the Oracle BI Server: Could not connect to the Oracle BI Server because it is not running or is inaccessible. Please contact your system administrator.
Error Codes: WH4KCFW6:OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC

I normally do this to fix this problem
1>Disable the network , keep the loopback adaptor enabled and then restart the services.
2> You can enable the network after services are restarted.
