OBIEE 11g presentation services login error

Hi All,
i am new to OBIEE 11g i have installed software and when i tried to login presentation services it is giving following error please help me.
i stated all services in EM and in services (oracle process manager and node manager also)
Enter your user id and password.
Unable to Sign In
An error occurred during authentication. Try again later or contact your system administrator.
please help me

Issue in OBIEE 11g Presentation service.

Hi All,
I found a problem in OBIEE 11g Presentation service, i.e., When i created an analysis with few columns in the criteria, it showed proper result, but when i deleted one column and then again add the same column in the criteria, result did not show the added column.
Anyone else find this issue?
Please share your views..

On the left hand corner you will see list of views in the report, on a basic analysis you will see title and table view. Select the table view and click on edit ( pencil symbol ). A new page opens up, scroll down a little and you will see the columns included and columns excluded sections. Make sure the column that you are trying to add to the report is not present in the excluded list. If it is, drag and drop it above.

Unable to Start OBIEE 11g Presentation Services,Javahost and BI Server

Hi All,
my friend installed OBIEE 10g and OBIEE 11g installed in same system.now i am unable to start OBIEE 11g obi server,presentation services,java host when i see in the properties presentation services ,obi server and java host in services.msc the path here is pointing to obiee 10g sawserver,javahost and presentation services.

BI presentation services login error

Hi,
Installed OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 on windows 7 home premium 64 bit.when i try to login with weblogic username/pwd says invalid username/pwd.

I am having a problem with OBIEE presentation services. I have to connection pools on the repository since I am use tables in different table spaces.
I have check the “Require fully qualified table names” option.
When I click view data or update row count on the Admin tool, its works fine however I get an error when I choose a field from one f the tables in OBIEE Presentation services “Answers”

OBIEE 11G - Unable to login to presentation services

Hi All,
I have done a simple installation of OBIEE 11G on my coloud server with OS windows server 2003, SP2 , 32 bit.
Installation is 88% completed with,
Executing : opmnctl start coreapplication_obiccs1 and Executing: opmnctl start coreapplication_obips1 failed. Came to know that this is related to clusters and ignored the error.
RCU is installed in different database server.
Now i am trying to login to presentation services with weblogic as userid and password that i had given during installation of obi.
I am getting error that userid or password is invalid...
One thing i came to know from the thread OBIEE 11g Cluster Controller Failed to start is,
i have a bad IP in /etc/hosts... below are the entries in the file... can anyone please tell me what necessary changes i should do?

Error while configuring OBIEE 11G OPMN Service during Installtion

Hello,
i tried installing 11G with simple install on Vista and didnot work, I think 11g does not work on Any Vista and not sure of W7
second, i tried installing the same on Windows XP and the installtion worked fine till the end and while configuring OPMN Services,
the OBIPS Services and OBICCS services failed, i retried to configure this services with "retry" option but never worked, so i skipped this part thinking that
i can configure this manually. finally i was not able
weblogic's Admin server, Managed server, Node manager and Analytics.war deployments are all healthy in EM Console and Weblogic console
the Fusion Middleware control in EM Console shows the BI Components are not started and i tried restarting it and but never started.
so i think there is something wrong with OPMN configuration at the end of installtion
is there a way to trouble shoot this.
i tried searching of SAWSERVER service so i can start the manaully, but it did not start
i did a softwareonly install on top this single instance installtion thinking if that can help me, but it didnt
so please anyone help me

Hi Kumar,
I believe OBICCS is the Oracle BI Cluster Controller Service. That particular service requires a static IP address. A lot of people use the loopback adaptor to accomplish.
Here's a quick rundown of some things you should check before installing OBIEE 11g.
1. Make sure you have a static IP (use a loopback adaptor if you have to).
2. Make sure your static IP adaptor is the first adaptor in your connections list. You can do this by going to Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Network Connections -> Advanced. Use the up and down arrows to ensure that the static IP is the top of the list.
3. Make sure you hosts file (c:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) has the proper entry for the static IP address. For example, if your computer is called MyComputer and your static IP is 192.168.0.1, then the first entry should be: 192.168.0.1 MyComputer. Note: You may need to have your domain on your entry. ie. 192.168.0.1 MyComputer.mydomain.com.
I recommend you check those things. If you missed one of them, fix it and then back out the 11g install and re-install.

BI Presentation Services Authentication Error

I am at my wits end in trying to solve this issue. I have installed obiee 11g on my laptop and am able to login to the BI Admin Tool and the enterprise manager and also the console. But I have been getting an authentication error when trying to log into presentation services. I am new to OBIEE and have tries to get some help from the various forums and have been trying to incorporate the suggested solutions. But I only seem to have screwed it up further as I am not able to login to the console also as of now. I can still connect to the enterprise manager. All that I need is to be able to open up the presentation services. Pls help me out.

I have not used 11g, but from my experience of 10g, the presentation services take the same password as the Deafult RPD password. if you are able to get into the RPD from the Admin tool the same pwd should work. Things to check...suppose your rpd is Paint and i assume u are able to get into the Bi Admin tool with username/pwd as Administrator/Administrator
1. The should be a webcatalog created as paint in the C:\OracleBIData\web\catalog
2. The instanceconfig.xml has it pointing to the paint <CatalogPath>C:/OracleBIData/web/catalog/paint</CatalogPath>
If this is not set, then set it and restart the presenation services.

We have installed OBIEE 11g in Linux server. After replacing the Out-of-the-box RPD.
The reports are throwing following TNS Error:

Please cross check you rpd connection pool details in physical layer like below.
Data source name
Username and password
Or,
Login Weblogic Console with admin username/pwd.
Goto Services -> JDBC -> Data Sources.
Select Lock & Edit button
Select Data Source "bip_datasource" link in the available Data Sources list
Select Connection Pool tab
.... Change the URL|Driver|Properties|Password
Select Save button.
OR,
you have to go to WEblogic Enterprise Manager (http://<server>:7001/em/. Then go to Business Intelligence folder -> coreapplication. Go to "Deployment" tab and then to "Scheduler" tab. Change the database field to point to the new DB and apply changes.
Or,
Please check Database services running or not including TNS listner service also.

Separate Server for OBIEE 11G Presentation Server

In version 10 of OBIEE many people put the Presentation Server and the OBIEE Application Server on separate servers. Is this architecture possible in OBIEE 11G using the new Fusion framework?

can your try to start presentation services alone via OPMN command, and then check the sawlog0.log lastest log message..
example mine,

still if its not working try to reboot your server and then "start all services"

OBIEE11g Presentation services startup error

Hi,
I have installed OBIEE 11G uses weblogic 10.3.3.0 in Windows server 2003.
It was running smoothly for few days.
Then I added samp app lite rpd using enterprise manager.
Now Iam getting the error
Error 500--Internal Server Error
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.5.1 500 Internal Server Error
The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request
I have already discussed this and came to know it is not due to static IP problem. Is there any other thing to get rid of this error?

I have an issue with the Administrator user.
I was able to login to Answers with Administrator user but from last week on words we are unable to login to Answers but to able to login to Administrator tool in online mode with Administrator user.
We created the test user with in Admin consloe and able to login to Answers with that user.
For Administrator user we did below steps:
1. Deleted the Administrator folder in the webcat.
2. Recreated the Administrator user in the Admin consle.
3. GUID refresh
but still unable to login. Could you please help me here.

OBIEE Scheduler & Presentation Services do not start

OBIEE installation on my laptop was working fine, until recently there was some vista update, i know Oracle does not support Vista, but for some reason it stopped working, any help would be really apprciated.
For Scheduler I get the 1064 error
For presentation services i get the error code -1
Note: My Javahost and BI Server is running fine.
I am all for reinstalling, but I dont think that is the solution, so I am trying my best to trouble shoot this, as i dont think re installation will be a very appropriate solution on a client's server.

ok i din see a clear soution here so i am posting this here ..
The reason why i got that error was because my catalog file for the demo that i was doing was corrupt, How why i dont know ..
So here is what i did,
I created a new directory in Drive:\OracleBIData\web\catalog\newcatalog
I started catalog manager from Start> Programs > OBIEE > Catalog Manager
Select Offline
Select Tools > Upgrade Catalog
I merged the old corrupt catalog with this new one
Went to the Instanceconfig.xml file Drive:\OracleBIData\web\config
Carefully replace the Catalog tag:
<CatalogPath>C:/OracleBIData/web/catalog/newcatalog</CatalogPath>
Checked on the Java Home Tag just to make sure it is correct:
<JavaHome>C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_10</JavaHome>
(Some of you may see your 'Oracle Java Host' working and the main reason is this path is not correct.
also if possible check if the credential tag is in place, it did not cause a problem for me tho..
<CredentialStore>
<CredentialStorage type="file" path="C:\OracleBIData\web\config\credentialstore.xml" />
</CredentialStore>
Go back to services and start presentation services and it should work!

when i copmile the code it give me that SAWSessionServiceLocator is not found becuase i attached sawsoapjaxwsstubs.jar and it doesn't have this class, so i found this class at sawsoapstubs.jar from OBIEE 10g after i attached it then give me the following error : Error(33,9): Service not found in class com.siebel.analytics.web.soap.SAWSessionServiceLocator .
can anyone please help me or give me the right code or jar file i should used to call the web services.

No we cannot use webservices with BI Publisher.We can only use webservices in OBIEE/Analytics

Obiee 11g Publisher Bursting Report error

I am using Obiee 11g (ver. 11.1.1.3.0) and trying to achieve report bursting. I have created Data model and Report. Report is showing result but once I schedule report by bursting to file,
1. I am getting error (ORA-00923: FROM keyword not found where expected).
2. where I can get bursting fail log?
Its urgent.
Bursting to file SQL Query as below: -
