OBIEE Area Chart with Line Graph

Can you create an Area and Line Graph together in one chart with OBIEE (rather than with the bar graph and line chart combo)??

Did you mean a Trendline? If that is the case, right click on any of the areas in the area chart and select Trendlines from the context menu.

    hi,
it is better for 2 different questions, make 2 differents threads...
You used the 2ond solution(google???),put in the dashboard...html enabled...and check your pdf again.
Moreover, printing pdf with answer is discouraged...always prefer Xml Publisher.
Last, there are 2 fst files which configure the *.pdf files , check them,

  • Stacked Column Chart with Line

    Hi
I need to Create a Stacked Column Chart representing 1 set of measures with a Line representing a target.
I want to create a chart where the Sales Amount in different Sectors is represented as a stacked column and the targets are represenetd as a line.
Currently BO supports Bar charts with line.
Does anyone know if such a feature will be supported in the new release of BO XI. Also is it possible to raise a request for this feature to be included in the new release
    TIA

We are also a 30 persons department (Marketing) using in the same BO charts (since 2001) quarters made of :
    - first single column ( 2014 billing in a query1)
    - second stacked column (2015 billing +2015  firm orders backlog, 2015 frame orders backlog in a query2)
    - third single column (2016 backlog in a query3)
    and a superposed budget line
the first and the third column are offset respectively to the left and right of the second column by blank and dummy single columns of data called ghost1 and ghost2. 2016 is still empty here but the principle is clear.
This principle is used liberally in 200 + different reports. Also with transparent columns and other complicated, but graphically intuitive reports.
How can we continue to use this very natural representation of our several hundred million $ business. I have not found the mixed single column, stack column and line option in BO XI 3.1 . Please re-develop one asap if necessary. SAP should please please report asap on the recovery timeline of this lost feature. The switch from Visual Basic development to Java development should not lead to regression of any feature.
    Regards.

  • SVG Multi Graph/Chart with line and bar

    I have a request for a "Multi-Graph-Chart"
showing both - line chart and
    - bar-chart with respective data.
Can you provide for the sourcecode, which is behind the SVG chart wizard enabling us to develop an own/individual SVG chart ?
    pls kindly advise.
    Bernhard
nb. I mailed u this request already - but thought this might be of interest to others as well.

    Marc
I would support this addition to functionality. I currently have a client who has a requirement for complex charting in HTMLDB, and I am looking at the SVG packages in HTMLDB, ie: WWV_FLOW_SVG, but as you say they are not independent APIs and rely heaviliy on the application's metadata. This is a shame as I could quite easily handle a nice PL/SQL API that would let me create custom SVG, instead of generating the SVG manually and embedding that in the page.

  • Issue with Line Graph in SSRS

I am pulling my hair our trying to format a line graph.
Below is my current report -
The Line Graph I have created has a Category Group of "YearLogged" and "MonthLogged".
The series I have added is an expression -
    =Count(IIF(Fields!InvoicePaid_.Value = "Yes" And Fields!ProcessTarget.Value = "InTarget", 1, Nothing))
As you can see the data label is coming back as values in "Paid" column from my table. What I want is the percentages instead labelled.
Also the Y axis is coming back with the total Paid invoices as a percentage? That's not right I want that to show up to 100%.
I just want to show what % of invoices are being paid In Target over the month.
Another question - where is the legend title getting "Process Target" from? Can I rename that to what ever I want?

    Hi ikilledbill,
According to the snapshot of the chart you have provided that it seems you have put the fields "YearLogged" and "MonthLogged" in the Category Group and add  field "InTarget" in the Value area as Series, you also add
the expression "Count(IIF(Fields!InvoicePaid_.Value = "Yes" And Fields!ProcessTarget.Value = "InTarget", 1, Nothing))" to display another series, now you want to display the percentage of InTarget/Paid as the data
    point, right?
I have tested on my local envoronment and details information below for your reference:
I have use some sample data as below and if you want to display the percentage value as in below snapshot, you need to add expression like below in the series:
    =Fields!InTarget.Value/Fields!Paid.Value
After add the expression, right click the data label to select the "Series Label Properties" and click Number to select the "Percentage".
Right click the Y-Axis and select the "Vertical Axis Properties", click Number to select the "Percentage".
To change the Legend Title, please right click the series and select the "Series Properties", enter the title you want in the "Custom legend text":
If I have some misunderstanding, please try to provide more details information about the design of the chart and also sample data in the table.
Any problem, please feel free to ask.

  • Scatter chart with lines between points

In one of our Deski reports, we have a "funnel" chart.  This is essentially achieved with a scatter plot graph with lines drawn between the scatter points to resemble a line chart.  This allows us to draw odd lines, such as a funnels that don't really look like funnels.    (Picture drawing a concentric circle for another visualization of what we are trying to accomplish).  So our problem is that we need to convert this Deski Report to Webi in order to move to BusinessObjects 4.1.  But we cannot seem to achieve this in Webi because the scatter plot in Webi does not draw lines between the points.  Any ideas out there?  Can this be done in a current BusinessObjects tool?

    Hi,
We have the same problem, did you solve your problem and how?
    thanks in advanced

  • Stacked Column Chart with Lines

    Requirement:
User stacked Column chart to display data for defects for 4 departments.
1 or 2 lines to show baseline for defects(constant).
Is there anyway that I can do that just like we can create one in Excel?
(stack a Stacked column chart with a line chart is not a solution.)
    Any advises?
    Thanks,
    Wen

    Hi Wen,
I realise that you are not going to get this to work with a standard component on its own. I think it might be possible to acheive it with overlaying barcharts and combination charts.
My assumption is that you are looking for something that has a stack with 3 separate items in it. Two target lines crossing over the stacked chart.
I will have a look at this to see if I can come up with something. Let me know if this is not your requirement.
No, I don't work for SAP. I think those that do have the SAP logo beside them.

  • Stacked Bar chart and Line graphs

I have a report in Crystal which has stacked bar chart and a line graph together in one report.
Is it possible to do the same thing in WebI . Can anybody share the experience.

Today you can only have a simple bar (not stacked) and line chart in Web Intelligence.  We are looking to improve charts in the future.  In the meantime you can look into the masher from the labs...

  • Interactive Bar/pie chart and line graph, data from excel/text file -urgent

    Hi,
I have a huge data in excell sheet which keeps updating every month. Data basically consists of service provider and there respective subscribers from various regions of the country over the years. The requirement is to give the viewers an interactive page where in they can make various combinations and can compare, cross examine data according to thier choice.
We want the pie chart / bar graph or line graph to be created on the fly according to the combination made by the user.
The site is hosted on a red hat linux server. how can a connection to the excel spreadsheet be made or is it possible to read from the text file if the entire data is exported to a text file.
Is there any ready made tool/code available which can be customised according to the need.
    Thanx in advance
    Regards
    Prakash

I certainly wouldn't pay for the graphing package at the previous link. check out http://www.object-refinery.com/jfreechart/ for a free, open-source, much better looking graphing package.

  • 3D Area chart with incremental sum

    Hi all,
I am quite new to Numbers, but I found it to be extremely powerful in keeping control of my activity, especially if used with iCloud.
In this case I have a spreadsheet with all my recorded invoices.
    This is, roughly, the structure:
    invoice id
    amount
    sent
    payed
    201301
    1000
    12/06/2013
    11/11/2013
    201302
    1500
    14/07/2013
    09/10/2013
    201303
    2000
    15/08/2013
    201304
    3000
    20/08/2013
    28/11/2013
I would like to have a 3D area chart, composed by two areas.
For first area there should be 4 momentum on x-axis (but I can add invoices anytime) representing 'sent'.
At each point I need to have the incremental sum which is 1000, 2500, 4500, 7500.
The other area has the real payed amount, an in this case on x-axis it would be 3 momentum representing 'payed'.
And the same apply for the sum: 1500, 2500, 5000.
Of course I have full control on this spreadsheet, therefore if necessary, I can add tables, rows, columns to achieve my need.
I hope I made myself clear.

I think this is what you want:
Add two columns as shown (columns E and F).  I titled them "Amount Due" and "Amount Paid"
    E2=IF(ISBLANK(D2), SUM(E1), SUM(E1,B2))
    F2=SUM($B$2:B2)
the notation "F2=SUM($B$2:B2)" means in cell F2 type (or paste from here) the formula:
    "=SUM($B$2:B2)" without the double quotes.
select E2 and F2, copy, select E2 thru the end of column F (F5 in this example), paste
make the first row a header and
make the first column a header and
now select columns A, E and F, now add a chart using the menu item "Insert > Chart > 2D Area"

  • Stacked area chart with start and end dates

    Hi,
I'm trying to create a stacked area chart from values that have a start date and an end date. I'd like the area to be drawn as a sum of the values at each x-axis date interval. So if I have data like:
    Start
    End
    Value
    2013-01-01      2015-01-01
    100
    2013-09-01      2014-01-01
    200
    2013-01-01      2016-01-01
    300
What I need is to have the chart show the area y-axis at 400 from the start up to 2013-09-01 where it would rise to 600. At 2014-01-01 it would drop back down to 400 and at 2015-01-01 it would drop to 300 until the end.
Is this possible without calculating the sums for each date beforehand?

    Hi Erba,
According to your description, it seems that you need add Start and End fields with the same level (without group relationship) to the x-axis in stacked area chart. As per my understanding, we couldn’t add multiple fields in one group at the same level.
So in order to work around this issue, we can modify the dataset to combine the Start and End field into one filed, then add the new filed to x-axis. For more details, please refer to the steps below:
Modify the dataset with the following query statement:
select Start as date , Value as value
    from table_name
    union
select [End] as date, (0-Value) as value
    from table_name
Drag a Stacked Area Chart to design surface.
Insert value field to Values pane, then modify it with the expression below:
    =runningvalue(Fields!vlaue.Value,sum,"DataSet_name")
Insert date field to Category Group pane.
The following screenshot is for your reference:
If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Possibility of creating combination chart Barchart/Line graph within OBIEE

    Hi
Is it possible to create a combination chart within OBIEE as can be done in Excel by changing the chart type on one of the individual series - ie graph multiple series of data as a combination of Barchart & Line series?
    Any info appreciated
    Thanks & Regards
    K

The charting can be as dynamic as you like if you willing to pre-configure the required options.
Simply create as many charts as you want from one request, and use a view selector to allow the user to switch between them.
You can use level based measures and any else you want as seperate columns (all in same request) then chart them accordingly.
    Hope this helps

  • ADF DVT StackBar Chart with line overlay

    Hi,
Is it possible in ADF DVT to create a stack bar chart and with a line overlay in the same axis?
I cannot possibly find a solution on how this can be achieved on the net. Although I am able to create a stack bar chart but I dont know how to proceed on
    adding the overlay line chart.
I tried my best to read the docs but I cannot possibly pinpoint where it is.
Is this possible and hope somebody could lead me to some direction.
