OBIEE Enterprise Manger 11g Doesn't Start
I have OBIEE Simple Installation on Linux.
Enterprise Manager was working fine but after restarted Weblogic server, EM didn't come back up. Weblogic Server and OBIEE11g(dashboard and analysis) are working fine except the Enterprise Manager.
Can you please help?
thanks.
Jay
It doesn't have the boot.properties so I was entering login information as I start the Weblogic.
Now I created boot.properities and tried but it still doesn't bring up the EM.
Any idea?
Thanks.

Enterprise Manger 11g Table data grid?
Hello, in Enterprise Manger 11g, is there a grid or spreadsheet edit of a tables data? Not the "View Data", but something where the data can be edited?
ThanksNo, use SQL Developer instead. Enterprise Manager is a monitoring and administration tool.

Oracle Enterprise Manger Web Console not starting after recent Zend install
I recently installed zend on my oracle server initially I had both Zend and the Oracle Enterprise Manager working. After a recent reboot however when I try to start the enterprise manager using emctl start dbconsole after a few minutes it responds failed and gives me the log directory. I'm fairly new to Oracle so I'm not sure which log file to check. I'm running Oracle 11g and the newest version of Zend.
Thanks for your help!ok there's lots of repeats in the log files

Installer for Discoverer 11g doesn't start
I'm trying to install Discoverer on CentOS 5 x64.
As OS user oracle, immediately after executing ./runInstaller :
[ERROR]: Installer has encountered an internal Error. Contact Oracle support with details
[EXCEPTION]: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException
Looking in the log, the stack trace indicates the method that caused this is startOperation.
Any ideas?
One more clue:
starting runInstaller from the linux subdirectory works fine.
starting it from the root install or linux64 subdirectory causes the above problem
Edited by: user611309 on Jul 14, 2009 5:58 AMHi Michael,
I have not installed on Windows XP, but according to the certification matrix on OTN here . It is supported for single-user use on Windows XP and Vista client OS's.
10g and 11g can co-exist as long as there are no port conflicts and you have the resources (CPU/Memory). They use different ranges and defaults. Both are pretty good about detecting ports in use (on Linux anyways) so if you have the resources, you may want to have 10g running. If not, there is still the option of the manual static port assignments. You should be OK if running each separately.
11g is quite a bit more "modularized" which makes it more flexible for only installing the parts you want (some may say more complex, just different).

OracleIAS Enterprise Manager webpage doesn't start
My username and password is accepted by EM web in OracleIAS with no problem but the page doesn't load.
I have Windows XP Professional with 512MB RAM and Oracle database installed on a standalone machine for evaluation purposes.
I have done the following so far.
1)changed the hosts file on c:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc with a fully qualified hostname
2)Uninstalled the .Net Framework
I also have to reset my EM password (remove the credentials line from the jazn-data.xml file, etc) each time I want to login to EM.
I've read the relevant forum postings dating back to January 2003 related to OracleIAS EM's web page not loading and I'm still having no luck. I hope someone can help me out.
Regards,
JoeHi Joel:
After three days trying, reading, searching, guessing, a light suddenly switched on inside my head:
Had $ORACLE_HOME something to do with this? And I had -to my own shame- to say YES! It was completely my fault: The starting process for the HTTP_Server had the wrong ORACLE_HOME (it was pointing to the DB/em ORACLE_HOME). Thus there were interferences with the environment values.
Shut the machine down, booted it, started 'emctl start dbconsole', opened a new terminal, checked $ORACLE_HOME, changed to the proper one (the HTTP_Server one) started it with opmn and -guess what?- everything worked fine. (And I slapped my forehead several times...)
Thank you for your attention.
Cheers.

CONTINOUS RUNNING SCHEDULED BACJOB PROBLEM IN ORACLE ENTERPRISE MANGER 11G
Hi Gurus,
I need your help,
Actually i am facing a problem on production server in which OS is Windows Server 2008 , Oracle 11.0.1.0
Data is approx 9GB.
What i do is previously i Schedule a backup job in OEM for 2 times full backup, in that schedule job is running on time and after completeion it executed sucessfully. but due to seme change in Backup policy i change the scheduling and remove the old one but now whenever i try to schedule autobackup the job starts on time but after no of hrs the schedule execution still show job is running , as my data backup is coming properly to the specified location which is not flash_recover_manager. One thing more my SYSTEM tablespace is approx 92.8 % full and may be this is the problem or controlf file sizeing may be the problem but i am not sure. Can u plz tell me can i add datafile to system tablespace to increase its size while db is up or change control file size & how. One thing more , when i try the same scheduling steps on my local machine or any other machine scheduling is done fine and it shows suceeded after completion.
At present i am not able to post snapshot of alertfile or pfile.
Can somebody facing the similar scenerio help me out.
plz help me as i am in need so much
Thanks in advanceI don't think that the system tablespace datafile is 92% being filled is a problem, but his what you can do:
set oracle_sid=<your SID>
I take it the path includes the correct <oracle_home>\bin
sqlplus / as sysdba
alter database datafile 'E:\path_to\system.dbf' AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 1M MAXSIZE 2000M; replace 'E:\path_to by the correct disk and path.
Changing a datafile size (resize) or changing a datafile so it is able to autoexextend can also be done by the EM itself.
The controlfile can grow over time but I haven't seen any problems with it's size.
Sorry, I can't explain the backup issue.

OBIEE 11g OPMNCTL not starting
Hi All,
When I'm trying to start my OBIEE services, all the services are starting, but the OPMNCTL status is not starting.
When I'm trying to start it manually, It is giving me the below error message.
Cannot resolve My-PC for instance any
opmnctl Status: OPMN is not running
At that time internet is not connected. But after I connected the net it didn't give this message. OPMNCTL started.
Is it necessary to have internet to start my services.
If not necessary how can I resolve my error when not connected to net.
Thanks in advance.Hi,
Make sure static ip r u using? If u used to installed dynamic
Ip it throw this kind off issue . I have face this same issue in obiee11.1.1.3 with dynamic ip address
Note: u shoud use static ip ( configure look back adopter )
Thanks

EPMMaster.rpd Fusion Pack migration from OBIEE 10g to 11g
We have successfully installed OBIEE 10g and 11g on Windows 2008 32bit servers. On the 10g Installation, we have applied the Fusion Pack EPMMaster RPD file and it connects successfully to our EPM warehouse. We want to migrate the Fusion pack to 11g which is also setup on the same platform. Per the instructions in the documentation, we have copied the files (RPD file and Webcat folder) to the 11g server. We run the UA.bat file and it proceeds to start copying the files over fom the RPD and WebCatalog to the new system. It completes this process, but then hangs on starting the Oracle BI server - it never gets beyond that.
We will be purchasing the EPMMaster RPD and know it is not available yet for 11g – however we’re trying to get ahead of the curve a bit and manually fix the items in the presentation layer that will not render correctly in 11g
upgrade exception occurred
Unable to start process: instance1: coreapplication_obis1
One thing that I noticed – Since the UA tool does not completely finish --
RPD size on 10g – 42,675KB; 11g – 6,375KB
I manually change the webcat in Enterprise Manager to the EPMMaster catalog -this actually caused additional errors on restart.
Has anyone attempted upgrading a delivered RPD to 11g?
Thanks in advance -This is a known issue that we have worked through with Oracle tech support. The Dimension Deduction.Deduction Sid causes an error that prevents the UA tool from completing the upgrade process. There are a couple of ways around this, but the fastest is to simply delete the Dimension, the two related hierarchies and the fact table that is joined to this dimension. Physical table do not need to be touched however. There are still issues once it’s moved to 11g, but those can be addressed post migration. Thanks much to the Oracle support team for helping us out with this issue!

Delete ASM disk - database doesn't start
Hi
For testing purpose, I have installed grid infrastructure for standalone server and database 11g on linux. Instead psyhical disks, I have several partitions for data as ASM in normal redundancy. I try simulate disk fail (ASM should load balance and still work). When in Enterprise Manager Database Control I mark disk as offline, it works. But when I delete partition by fdisk, database doesn't start (I change disk repair time to 0.0). I try:
oracleasm deletedisk ASMDISK02,
but it doesn't help.
I can't even startup database in nomount, I get error:
[oracle@localhost ~]$ sqlplus / as sysdba

SQL> startup
ORA-24324: service handle not initialized

Why I get errors, and how I could solve this problem?
Thanks awfully for help.
RegardsHi,
when your ASM instance/DB is down, when you delete a disk, then the diskgroup has to be mounted with the "force" option.
Now to be able to start ASM, he needs an spfile (or a local init.ora). Unfortunately your spfile is in the diskgroup he cannot mount at the moment (because disks are missing).
Start ASM with a local init.ora:
sqlplus / as sysasm
startup pfile=path_to_your_asm_init.ora
Then mount the diskgroup with force:
alter diskgroup <dg> mount force
After this drop the disk/repair the error.
Then you can restart the stack.

Now I recover one more time and try to restart database without log recovery.
Can I do it via database manager (put "Online")? Or via your command "dbmcli -d <dbsid> -u control,<pw> util_execute clear log"? And how I can perform recover of logs without error?
Best regards, Elena -
