OBIEE Integration with Workspace 11.1.1.1

Hi Gurus,
I'm integrating OBIEE Answer 10.1.3.4 with Workspace 11.1.1.1, and using LDAP authentication.
The issue is OBI ANSWER not able to pass the token correctly to Shared Svc and Essbase, it's always refer to id@Directory (directory is your LDAP directory or Native)
Error msg :
1. Using Native id *"State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. Essbase Error: Essbase user [testSec@Native Directory] Authentication Fails against the Shared Services Server with Error [30:1005:Invalid credentials. Authentication failed for user 'testSec'.] (HY000)"*.
2. External authentication Odbc driver returned an error (SQLExecDirectW).
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred.Essbase Error: Essbase user [ahermawa@testing] Authentication Fails against the Shared Services Server with Error [50:1005:Invalid credentials. Authentication failed for user 'ahermawa'.] (HY000)
SSO is working fine, as i'm able to open the OBI page through WS without asking me to login again. All users were provisioned from Shared Service based on LDAP external authentication and assigned with specific Essbase filter.
OBIEE also configure using custom authenticator.

OBIEE integration with Hyperion

Hi All,
I am currently working in an OBIEE project where we are having OBI integration with hyperion. All integration and reporting part is working well but we got an issue in our OBI report because of restructuring of hyperion cube hierarchy.
We have any OBIE- Hyperion integrated report,
We have an issue regarding the hyperion hierarchy. In our previous project release we have a report where we are generating report on the basis of product hierarchy, part number(Hyperion Cube) which is at the 7th level of Product dimension at that time.
In this week there is a restructuring of the product hierarchy where they have added one more level i.e, Level 8, and the part number earlier which is coming from level 7 now at level 8.
To resolve this we have manually added level 8 in the existing cube for the part number in OBI repository, but it not returning any result for Level 8 still it is pointing to Level 7.
Instead of this when I reimported the cube, the data is coming for level 8 as expected.
Please suggest how to resolve this issue without reimporting the cube, because we already developed the report on the basis of level 7(Previous Release).
If we go for reimport option, then again we have so much of re-work.
Please help me out in resolving this issue, if any other option available.

Regarding OBIEE Integration With Oracle EBS

I have installed BIAPPS (7.9.6.1) (components installed are 2 11g DBs (one is OLTP and other is OLAP) on RHEL 4, Oracle Application Server 10g, Informatica Power Center , DAC and OBIEE). After that i need to integrate the OBIEE with Oracle EBS. I have installed 11.5.10.2. I upgraded the database to 10g R2 and applied patch ATG 6 (Pre reqs of Integration).
Steps Which i have done for integration:-
I installed Financial module in Biapps. Made changes to that pre built rpd ie:OracleBIAnalyticsApps.rpd using Administrations tool. I have created datasource for EBS and given in connection pool. Similarly in dataware house connection pool also. When i test from Administration tool means Init Block > EBS Security context > Edit datasource. When i click on test the datasource i am getting error NQ_SESSION.ICX_SESSION_COOKIE* has no value definition.*
I copied that rpd linux box where my OBIEE server resides and changed the rpd name in NQSConfig.INI. I added the oracle_home and tnsadmin etc in user.sh file. I added the dsn names which i created the same in windows in odbc.ini file. But NQServer.log says

Siebel sales and siebel marketing is a module in siebel.....so same way as marketing is done.....siebel sales also is integrated......its just a module difference.

What all things i need to change in the rpd using Admin tool. i am using rpd of BIAPPS ie; OracleBIAnalyticsApps.rpd which has created after installing the biapps financial module.

Unable to get OBIEE integration with MS-Office started

After 3 painful install attempts at OBIEE 11.1.1, I now have a 32-bit simple install running on 32bit Windows Server 2008, and by adding Flash I can get all the charts to display in the SampleApp Lite that is automatically installed. I can also login to the Weblogic admin server, and the Fusion Enterprise Manager. My goal is to just test and evaluation of the MS-Office integration.
However, I can't get the MS-Office integration going. When I try to connect from the Excel 2007 BI add-in with:
---Servername = some_string
---BI Office Server = Win08forOBIEE (which is the full domain name of the server).
---Application Name = bioffice (I didn't change any defaults for the install other than the weblogic admin account which I changed to "administrator").
---Port = 80
and thence click the TestConnection button, I get the following error message:
"Test connection failed. http://Win08forOBIEE:80/bioffice/services/saw?WSDL"
On reading the OBIEE user guide, whose large Appendix D is entirely on MS-Office integration, I wonder if the server has been set to (as the user guide says) "Ensure that the administrator has granted you the Access to Oracle BI for Microsoft Office privilege. For information on this privilege, see Oracle Fusion Middleware System Administrator's Guide for Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition." However, according to the latter, this priviledge is granted by default to BIConsumer. Is it possible that the administrator would not have this role by default?
Also, this privilege if I understand correctly is controlled by Oracle BI Presentation Services. There seems to be 4 ways to admin Presentation Services that is swamping my understanding of which to try and how to start each (does each one only configure a certain area?):
---Oracle BI Administration Tool
---Oracle BI Presentation Services Administration
---Oracle BI Presentation Services
---Catalog Manager
I have tried starting the Oracle BI Admin Tool from the start menu > AllPrograms > OracleBusinessIntelligence > BI Administration. And ironically get a password error even though I used the same password everywhere for everything, and as described above I can sign onto everything else and the analytics can access the repository. Does the BI Office Server process by default use something different for a password than that entered for the database, the RCU, and OBIEE itself?

Some further background on my problem above:
--- I'm running both OBIEE and the repository in a VM on my PC.
--- I'm trying to use Excel add-in from the host OS on the PC. I can ping the OBIEE VM machine name "Win08forOBIEE". I can connect from a host OS web browser to the Weblogic console, middleware em, and OBIEE analytics.
--- To start Weblogic I just doubleclick C:\OBIEE\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\bin\startWebLogic.cmd followed by windows startmenu > allprograms > oracle business intelligence > start bi services .
(Note that following the instructions and running "startWebLogic.cmd -start" with he -start parameter (followed by Start BI Services) doesn't seem to work. In fact, I wonder if the startWebLogic.cmd is step is needed at all and instead I could just use windows startmenu > allprograms > oracle business intelligence > start bi services.)
--- At the end of Start BI Services, even though I can subsequently also sign in to middleware em and to obiee analytics web pages, I get an additional browser tab popping up suddenly that starts up which says " Error 500--Internal Server Error
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.5.1 500 Internal Server Error
The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request." The URL is: "http://win08forobiee:9704/analytics/saw.dll?bieehome&startPage=1"

OBIEE Integration with Hyperion Work Space & Shared Services

Hello All,
I am configuring Hyperion Workspace (11.1.1.3) & Hyperion shared Services (11.1.1.3) with OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1.
I am not able to see the OBIEE product under the Application Groups of Shared Services.
Can anybody has any idea regarding this.

OBIEE integration with Hyperion MDM?

Has anybody seen or worked on a project that integrated OBIEE with Hyperion MDM/DRM? I'm not familiar with MDM but it seems to me that MDM creates metadata that may overlap what OBIEE already has.
Any information on this would be greatly helpful.

OBIEE Integration with ADF - Reports with bind variables

Hi,
I've managed to integrate obiee with ADF by following the steps described in:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-publisher/adf-bip-ucm-integration-179699.pdf
This is all fine and all but what about reports with complex queries where bind variables are needed?
In short I need to send specific values from ADF application as parameters to the query of the report before building it, then create it and download the file as pdf.
I don't have problems with building the file and downloading it when the query in the report has no bind variables, but when it does I do not know how to send them to the report.
I can't seem to find such an implementation or example anywhere and I am stuck.
Could anyone please point me in the right direction, eighter by providing a solution, or a link to such an example?

OBIEE integration with ADF

I want to pass some parameter from adf screen to OBIEE based on which OBIEE report will be generated.
I know we can use BI ADF Components to embed report created in OBIEE into jspx. but how to pass parameter from ADF page to OBIEE.

The question is what interface does OBIEE provide for accepting parameters?
If it reads parameters from the URL you can use a goLink component in ADF Faces that has the URL constructed at runtime.
If it uses Web sevices to invoke reports and pass parameters you can do WS calls on the model layer.

I have a OAF(User Interafce) page in EBS and in that page we create and update equipment .from this page we want to go to our dashboard for that particular equipment.Is this possible.Suppose I created a equipment Test and now from this equipment Test I want to go to the dashboard page which also has equipment in prompt so from OAF page I want to go to dashboard page which will have Test in equipment prompt.Is this possible.Any help in this is highly appreciated.

OBIEE 10g integration with mapviewer

hello all,
i am trying integrate mapviewer map in obiee dashboard. and i am able to show maps which do not use bi answers data for any kind of interaction (i.e,no "nsdp" section in the map file). this works fine. if i am using any dashboard prompt to filter the map ( for example if want to see a particular county from a statewide map using dashboard prompt as filter) it is giving error as below:
*[MVThemeBasedFOIControl.foiLoaded] MAPVIEWER-05523: Cannot process response from MapViewer server. (MAPVIEWER-06009: Error processing an FOI request.*
Root cause:FOIServlet:Missing IN or OUT parameter at index:: 1)
there are two databases with same set of data. one is poc which was created by some one else. so we had to setup new schema to properly define all the data.
so problem occurs when using new schema as datasource. all the html datasource configurations are properly defined on mapviewer for new data.
followed these steps in setting up new schema:
->initially did not run any scripts nor created mvdemo , started clean and loaded the required tables using map builder from GIS shape files with geometry projected to world_mercator(54004). on the contrary POC schema two geometry columns in each table where one is actual coordinate system from GIS file and then it is projected to world_mercator system and loaded into second column using sql. all the geometry indexes looked similar.
->created all the mapping metadata exactly same as the POC. where all the themes uses world_mercator geometry.
both schemas are on same database. i have no idea of what causing the error when i use dashboard prompts. i am not sure if there are additional steps to be followed in creating database or if something else is missing some where. i have no prior experience with mapviewer and oracle spatial. this is kind of learning curve for me.
please let me know any suggestions or solutions .

Is your environment similar to this in http://obiee-bip.blogspot.com/2010/10/obiee-integration-with-oracle-access.html or something different like diid you have create groups in OAM .?
Also assuming your repository groups and presentation catalog groups are already setup. In the different authorization init block you have created enable the ‘Required for Authentication’ check box.
NOTE: According to Oracle Access Manager (OAM) and Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI) Integration [ID 1217103.1]
Creation of group should be done by loging as Administrator user to rpd and webcat. This should be done on different machine that does not have OAM integration. With OAM integration only OAM user can log into presentation services and they don’t have Administrator user privileges.
