OBIEE/Oracle Apps

Hi,
I am working on an Inventory report in OBIEE/Oracle Apps. The report needs organization and set of books. I do not see these fields in the Inventory Subject Area. I am building this report from Inventory Transactions SA. How do I get these two fields into the Inventory transactions SA. I am very much confused on how to bring the missing fields into the SAs as I am working on OBIEE/Oracles Apps integration for the first time. Please advise.

I would definitely need those in this SA..isn't it?Ya defiantely you would need those columns because itz crux of the matter.I meant check them in other subject areas also (other than inventory)
I dont have access here,but im sure i saw those columns defined....check them might be they have been mingled up with other subject areas because as those 2 fields are used with all modules in common.
If i recall the tables names start something like this Dim_W_INT_ORG_D or Dim_W_ORG_D_Account im not sure check out.

My question is we have few users coming and stating that they are unable to find few fields. Is there any mapping or any document available that states which field is mapped to what in OBIEE? Also if the user wants to add couple of more fields to a report whci is not available in the vanilla rpd, can we pull those columns into the subject area? In short can we modify the subject areas that are in the vanilla rpd. Thanks.

Login in to OBIEE with Oracle Apps Credentials

How can i connect to OBIEE repository and presentation services using Oracle Apps (ebusiness suite) user name and password the same way it can be done in discoverer.
if anyone can point me to a link or give me his own opinion on how to do that please do.

OBIEE and Oracle Apps (E Business Suite) SSO implementation

Hi Gurus,
We are using apps 11i and OBIEE 10.1.3.4 . I would like to ask that is there any doc which could provide me steps of SSO implementation between both. Or if not in doc is there any body who incorporated the same. Here we dont have DAC and ETL as Informatica for etl we are using plsql. I want to make it work like when user types his id and password in Oracle E business , automatically he should be also directed to OBI also same user id and password could be used to the OBI. Please remember my OBI is not from apps package. It is EE and not OBI 7.9.6 So is it possible to implement SSO between OBIEE and apps 11i and how ?

OBIEE and Oracle Apps

We have OBIEE integrated with Oracle Apps. During installation we also get the Vanilla rpd. we are also using another new module which uses another database but not the Oracle apps. We have requirement of OBIEE reports on this module. This databse is an OLTP database. We are trying to add another source to the rpd and pull these tables and create a subject area. My understanding is that this is possible. So we will have two sources. One that came in the vanilla rpd which is datawarehouse and the other which is OLTP for the new module. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

You are doing correct let me add some points
which uses another database but not the Oracle apps. We have requirement of OBIEE reports on this module. This database is an OLTP database.You have Different connection pools by default when u install oracle Apps next,you are customizing the rpd by adding some OLTP database ,
Merging the Vanilla rpd + Custom rpd (i mean connection pools)
make sure that all the join conditions to be made and report should be from theis subject area

Oracle Apps Standard Database Views not appearing in OBIEE

I am trying to select the Standard database views of oracle apps.
for example PO_HEADERS_V, PO_LINES_V.....etc.
I am unable to see in the (import metadata ) page.
I have selected the options (Tables, Keys, forign key, View)

What do you mean by "changes don't appear"? Don't appear where? Are you using row-wise initialization of the Group variable? If so, have you turned off caching for it?

We have installed BI Publisher as part of OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1. Our J2EE Application Server is Apache Tomcat 5.5.2.7
After manually deploying the xmlpserver.war in Tomcat and doing the changes to xmlp-server-config.xml
When i am trying access the URL, its resulting into following Tomcat Error:

Hi Aasma,
The standard BI Publisher is part of EBS applications.
Most of the EBS reports(R12) are based on BI Publisher.
If you check the responsibility 'XML Publisher Administrator' you will see all the templates used in the application.
Your technical team should already know this.
On the other hand OBIEE would need separate licences.
But for you BI Publisher would do.

I want to install the latest version of OBIEE & BI Apps on linux. I came to know that some components of OBIEE & BI Apps can't be installed on linux and is possible only on Windows. So can anybody let me know what are all components i can install on linux and what are all on Windows?

Hi Manoj,
If you select "Fresh Database" it means you dont have any sample data but just a vanilla flavoured EBS installation (which will accumilate to around 90 GB during successful completion of Installation), If you select "Vision Database", it will provide you sample data for you to play around with and do an in-depth R&D but please note that this will accumilate to around 200GB+ space. Provided you have enough space in your machine I would suggest you to go ahead with Vision instance as this is your first installation and will help you to learn EBS well. If not I would suggest you to have a fresh installation.

How can I integrate Oracle Apex with Oracle Applications R12? The requirement is like by clicking a menu the user will see an apex report without giving again the user name and password. By simple menu attachment it's asking for apex login credentials. But I want it will redirect to the apex page without asking for user name and password.
Anyone please tell the step by step procedure of how to integrate apex with oracle apps R12.

I am trying to convert an Oracle Report to XML Publisher, and I am having problems getting lexicals in the Data Template to work.
I raised an SR for this since both related threads in this forum from two years ago were unresolved. Oracle had no answers for me, and told me to ask the question here.
So anyone who has any ideas, please chime in!

The first two lexicals and their corresponding sql statement are samples directly from the user guide (which is full of errors). The third lexical is the one from ARXAGMW.rdf.xml that I am trying to make work.

By the way, simply adding the quotes around the lexical names in the sql statement doesn't work. That causes the lexical references to be ignored as simple string values:

FROM dualI turned on statement-level debugging via xdodebug.cfg and saw how it compiled the lexicals. By replicating the call to apps.fnd_flex_xml_publisher_apis.kff_segments_metadata that I found there, I was able to hack together a workaround for this issue.
Please point me to a better way of doing this if possible, as I had to GRANT EXECUTE on this apps package to my custom code schema. Is there a better lexical/flexfields reference than the XML Publisher documentation?
