OBIEE - Oracle BI Server service (NQSServer.exe) goes down

Hello,
I'm experiencing a issue with the Oracle BI Server service (NQSServer.exe), it goes down when the CPU reaches to the 100% with this service.
This happens when the Job Manager tries to send 20mails (ibots) at the same time.
This never happen before.
Here you can see the error, when the CPU reaches to 100%, and the NQSServer.exe goes down.

Can I try to manage the settings for this service (NQSServer.exe)?

Need Help on Oracle BI Server Service

Hi there,
I would need help on to start Oracle BI Server service start.
I have installed OBIEE 10.1.3.4 version and I've been working on creating repository and creating Answers & Dashboards etc..,
Today, I was working on to point other repository in NQSConfig.INI file and when I tried to Start Oracle BI Server Service I get below error:
" *Could not start the Oracle BI Server service on Local Computer*
*Error 1064 An exception occurred in the service when handling the control request*"
It's been working, just I got this error today only, all other services are working fine.
Has anyone got this error?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for all your quick replies and it worked now.
You are right, I changed repo name and changed back to original one and and Service is starting now.
I think something missing space or format issue when I add other entry in the NQSconfig.INI file, Ihave to follow same synatx.
Now I am good to go.

Can't start Oracle BI Server service after uploadingo RPD

Hi,
I have just installed OBIEE 11g and I have some problems, or I don't know fine 11g version :-)
ONLINE RPD
1) It response with UNKNOWN ERROR in case I would like to add new DATABASE in Physical Layer;
2) The consistency check fail with nQSerror: 37005 Transactional Update Failed
OFFLINE RPD
I deploy without problem, but after uploaded RPD on line and I do start and stop with opmnctl command, the Oracle BI server service still Down ad not Alive. Other services still Alive.
The RPD chek consistency response without error!!!
Please can you help me???

Oracle Management Server Service not created

Hello,
I created a Management Server Repository using OEMCA and an existing SID. According to the details displayed at the end of the wizard I assume that the process was finished successfully:
(NT-Service OracleOraHome81 ManagementServer is started...
Disconnect from oms@instancename....
Returning to connection system@instancename...
Process finished.
Yet the Oracle Management Server Service can not be found in SERVICES in the control panel...and therefore can't be started manually.
I have OS-Administrator Privileges.
I use Oracle 8.1.7 on WinNT.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

9i No Oracle Management Server Service in Control Panel

I installed Oracle 9i yesterday but there is no Oracle Management Server Service in the Control Panel. Any ideas anyone on how to rectify this ?

start the Oracleagent services first and then make sure your oraclelistener is running before you attempt to start the ManagementServer.

Oracle Forms Server Service cannot start by scripts (windows2k)

We have a Portal & Application Server installed (Forms&Reports 6i).
Server is Windows2000.
I have to start Oracle Forms Server service by scripts, when i manually start the process by pressing start or stop, it works & asks for nothing.
but when i write a script to stop & start oracle forms server , it stops by script.
but it fails to start & says FRM-60009 : ifsvr60 correct usage : -install [service name] exc..... so service doesnt start but when i go to services & start it manually by presing start , it starts. I dont want to install a new service just stop & start the engine.
How can i start the forms server service by a script ? (any of known commands or a way to Oracle forms server service to start by scripts ?)

Have you checked that the rpd file still exists in the Repository folder? Did you leave it in a consistent state? assuming the paint.rpd is still there, double click it and see if you can open it, if so run a consistency check.

Error while starting Oracle Management server service

Hi all,
We are about to administer our database using Oracle Enterprise manager. For that we have configured OEM in a Test PC and tried to connect our database.
First i have logged in to OEM Console with Sysman login id using the default password "oem_temp" and it prompts me to change the password, also i have changed the password as "xxxxx" and i have come out of OEM console and tried to relogin using the changed password.
i got the message as invalid login or password or
check for the availablity of Management server service"
i found that the service Oracle Management server which was previously running is not running now and i tried to restart that manually.
On doing that i got a message as
"Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"
Would any one of u help me to solve this problem.

I need to know the operating systems on each of the
clients and the OSB admin server. Also, does 'obtool' CLI
tool work? Do any of the machines act as an apache webserver
for another application? Is there any other backup service
running on any of the machines?

Administrative Server (only Media Server and Client)
I got no errors at all (but still cannot connect from

Problem starting the Oracle Management Server service

I have configured the Oracle Management Server (since I need to use the Jobs functionality) in an Oracle 9i home installed in my desktop. Then I have tried to put the service to work; it always starts and stops at once; the message also states that some services are automatically shutted down when they are not in use...
Also, I noticed that I cannot use the typical option when creating the repository for OMS because it does not accept the domain my computer is in (dgsaude.min-saude.pt) since it seems to be an invalid domain name...
I am a little under pressure here...Please help

Thank you very much; I will take a look at documentation; anyway, just a question I am in doubt about..the tasks I need to automate have to do with deleting the contents of some local tables, then run some SqlPlus queries to fill those tables again (I run them locally by using a database link to another database); final tables will be connected to an www site and refreshed. As I have understood, I can do this using DBMS_JOBS (for which, I think, I would need to learn some PL/SQL...) or configure the OMS to do it (which, as you said, can be a bit of a pickle in the start...). Given the situation, which one of these tools would you advise me to use?

Oracle Management Server Service not starting

I have checked all the services are started and database is up but when i am trying to start OMS service "oemctrl start oms" its giving the message..
... service could not be started
... the service did not return an error.

Fate of Oracle Application Server? Is it going to be obsolete?

What is the fate of Oracle Application Server? Is Oracle going to dump or obsolete it ? Or it will coexist along with WebLogic?

Oracle Application Server is a suit of products which includes Oracle HTTP Server, Web Cache, Discoverer, Forms & Reports, Portal, SOA, OiD etc. In the FMW11g release, the Java container (OC4J) has been replaced by the WebLogic engine. I would not say Oracle Application Server is obsoleted :-)

Oracle report server service returned service specific error 271

I setup Report 6i to start automatically as NT service in WinNT 4.0 server. Encountered the msg "The oracle report server <server name> service returned service specific error 271".
Can't find any documentations... can anyone please help? Thanks.

Hi,
Only thing I can think of is that the User log-in may not have the priviledge to start a serice or some other OS related problem. Or check that you do not have any other service running under same name / or the same port. Workaround would be to use following command to start the Report server:
rwmts60 -listen "server_tns_name"You need to add an entry for the Report server in TNSNAMES.ORA file. Infact for first case also, please check is you have right entry in tnsnames.ora for the Reports Server service.

Cannot start Oracle BI Server Service

I had installed Oracle Bussiness Intelligence 10g Release 2 version on my system....I was able to generate reports properly with the Default Repository(SH)....But When I created an OLAP repository and loaded it....It worked fine for a few minutes....then BI server service was automatically stopped....later when the service was restarted,it worked for 5 min but agin it got automatically stopped....but on attempting to restart the service again I got a error message ERROR 1068: Service cannot be be started because groups or dependencies not loaded....How can I reinstate the server process? I tried changing the repository to the default one but it didn't work....

I have seen similar errors when the repository is corrupt. Are you able to open the repository in offline mode ? In online mode, when you check consistencies, does it pass or does it throw any errors ? Also check the log files. if you are not getting enough information, try changing the loglevel for that user and then try it. usually this gives a good amount of info to debug.

Could not start the Oracle BI server service on local computer - error 1067

i've successfully installed the BI.however when i try to start the BI service, i get the above message.any ideas to fix this ?

This error occurs after an initial install, when the Oracle suite is installed logged in as the user(who has admin rights on the machine). If this is the case,
1.Go to Services (Admin Tools > Services)
2.Double click the Oracle services( BI Server or Presentation or TNS Listener).
3.Go to Log On tab
4.If local system account is checked , un-check that option. Check "This Account" option
5.Give the user information for that machine(e.g domain\username)
6.Specify password associated with the user ( the username/pwd that is used to login to the machine)
7.Confirm pwd and click Apply.
8.re-start the service.
This is what i did , and it worked.
good luck and hopefully oracle addresses these issues , they become frustrating to use the product.

im using oracle 9i db on win2000
i started my OracleOraHome92ManagementServer on the services of control panel but it failed.
i already started the Tnslistener and the agent.
can anybody share or knows some thing about this?
