OBIEE Patch download passwords

Could someone shed some light on the reason that so many of the OBIEE patches found on support.oracle.com are password protected? Is it because they're not yet fully tested?

Also, is there an e-mail list or some other method by which we can receive notification of recently released, publicly available (i.e. not password protected) patches?

Could anyone please share the process - How to download Oracle Apps patches with password required through OAM using patch wizard option to the server.
ftp updates.oracle.com is not working in our case.

ftp updates.oracle.com allowed to download patches before but now it says the following.

Enter the following command where username and password are your My Oracle Support login and password and filename is the patch file name that you copied from the Properties window::
wget http-user=username http-password=password no-check-certificate output-document=filename "http://updates.oracle.com/Orion/Download/download_patch/<filename>"
For example, to download patch 7154429 for Linux where the patch file name is p7154429_10204_Linux-x86.zip, enter:

Err Patch File passwords different from original repository - Patching RPD

I'm getting this message"[94040] Input Patch File(s) have passwords different from the original repository. Add patch file password(s) with the parameter -S to the patchrpd command." when attempting to patch a repository. obiee 11g 11.6.1 Many patches prior with no problem.

Successful Premier download, but Error 49 and unsucessful patch download.

Successfully downloaded Premier Pro CC, but it gave Error 49 and said unsucessful patch download. PP won't open video files. Does anyone know what is error 49 or how to get the patch download? I've tried multiple times over 4 hrs.

Uninstall an OBIEE patch

Dear All,
We have migrated from the OBIEE 10.1.3.2 to 10.1.3.4 by applying a patch. Unfortunately we are encountering numerous critical bugs.
I would like to know how can we unpatch/uninstall the patch and get back to the v10.1.3.2.
I am not familar with this area, all precise idea would be appreciate are welcome. What is a war file ?

Normally, it must be written in the installation instruction.
Of you can go back from a backup.
Of you can simply try to install the last version of OBIEE and transfer the configuration files and the metadata (ie the webcatalog and repository).
You can also ask a little support on the Oracle Support Website : http://support.oracle.com
A war file means Web application ARchive (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WAR_%28Sun_file_format%29). It's an archive file that you use frequently when you want to deploy an application in an java application server.

Patch download from Utilities tab fails

One of the best feature of this tool is the ability to download and process patches. I have tried about everything to get this to work. Any help would be appreciated.
.netrc contains 2 entries in the following format:

Ora 10.2.0.4 Patch ZIP Password!

I have just downloaded patch 8 (10204_Patch8_MSWIN-x86-64.zip) from the SAP website (https://websmp203.sap-ag.de/swcenter-3pmain) but it asks for a password to unzip! Ditto for patch 11 (10204_Patch11_MSWIN-x86-64.zip )
Is it supposed to do that? How can I get the password?
I checked the forums but no one seems to have encountered this problem! (+or am I typing the wrong keywords! +)

Surprisingly, the zip file allows me view access to the files inside the archive!
I circumvented my problem by copy-pasting the files from the archive without extracting them! Weird!
I have completed the patching successfully.

I am unable to download eApp Downloads (Build 825) file from this link. I have OTN user id and when I click on download it directs to me a url site and asks me to create an user account.

Wow, I didn't know that you could use your Yahoo ID to log into Oracle. That seems strange.
Just go the route of creating a new Oracle account if you keep getting prompted. Typically if you log into Oracle forums you are logged into the rest of Oracle.com as well. So, log into Oracle forums and then go to this link, http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/obiee-samples-167534.html.
However, as an alternative, you can always download the OBI Samples from Oracle Sample Code here,

Some advice from various locations on the web (use google). Each works for some users, not all. Give these a try.
Try to deauthorize the computer then authorize it.
select song or app. that's not authorized, itunes will ask for your password, enter password, click ok, and ok again. Done.
I had the same problem when I switched from my laptop to a macbook. What I figured out was that I had purchased applications under two different email addresses. You can click on one of the applications that is not syncing and go to "File" then "Get Info" to find out what email address you used to purchase those applications. Hopefully this helps.

OBIEE 11g - Download All/Display All of rows in Answers

Hi All,
I have created a request in OBIEE 11g and now displaying it on dashboard.
by default shows 25 rows, can extend it fo 500 rows, next i should keep on clicking to see full data.
Also download of data is possible for the rows available on page only i.e. 500 rows are only getting exported to excel.
Any way to view all data on dashboard at once and download as well?

But since I am a home user, so how I can download these patches and test.

Currently i have ecc 6.0 with ABAP+JAVA Stack. My java stack is on SP18 and need to upgrade. On the same server we have ESS Portal and ADS.

Hi Prateesh,
You can download, from http://service.sap.com/swdc > SAP Support package stacks (left frame) > SAP ERP 6.0 (SAP ERP 2005) (in the right frame).
Select the appropriate components based on, the usage.
Or the best way is, if you a Solution manager in your landscape, log in to that, and use DSWP > Operations > Change Management > Maintenance Optimizer > Create New Maintenance Transaction > Select the appropriate system, and continue.
If will show the current level and you need to select the target level, then it will automatically give the components that you can add to your download basket and approve them.
Also, download the stack.xml file, which will make the component target SPS level calculated, in JSPM.
