OBIEE repository variable CURRENT_ENTERPRISE_QUARTER not set

Hi,
We have a trial on-premise instance of Fusion Sales. The embedded OBIEE reports are not retrieving results because of the filters CURRENT_ENTERPRISE_QUARTER and
CURRENT_ENTERPRISE_YEAR pointing to 2011.
Could someone please advice in detail how to get these variables set correctly.

Found the root cause of this issue. The accounting calendar created in the system started from 2012. I created another accounting calendar which included 2011 Q2 and set it as CRM common calendar. Waited for the BI refresh and checked the seeded reports. They the current_enterprise_year value changed.

Giving the excerpt from the above document
1) Navigator > Setup and Maintenance >Manage Accounting Calendar
Create a new calendar including Year 2011 and Q2 (Second quarter)
2) Navigator Manage Calendar Profile >CRM Common Calendar (ZCA_COMMON_CALENDAR')
> Assign the new calendar (commonly at Site level) instead of former one
> Save and Apply
3) Navigator > Sales Dashboard > Open dashboard with new seeded reports : data and figures are displayed now

Dynamic Repository Variables are not Refreshing in OBIEE 11.1.1.6

Hi Experts,
As of sudden the dynamic repository variables are not refreshing.
The same rpd is working fine in Test Environment.
If any change in the query of initialization block, it is fetching old result.
Even after refreshing in Analytics page, still it is showing old value.
Please help me in regarding this.

Unable to start java tools - Error : Environment variable JAVA_HOME not set

hi all,
I am not able to start the java tool - Visual Admin, Configtool, etc in the solaris Bash shell.
I was given authorizations on solaris and i'm able to view the logs and browse in solaris boxes,
But, when i try to start Visual Admin, it says" ERROR environment variable JAVA_HOME not set "
Since,my colleagues are using this tool for years, how come the environment variable is not set only for my user profile ?
Is it like the environment variable has to set seperately for every user profile ?
Do i need to set it initially for my profile eventhough it is working for others ?
i am confused..please help.

Ofcourse, I use my login ID to use java tools and they use their's obviously.I don't use <SID>adm.
We WRQ reflection for X-Windows and Putty for Command line Solaris Access.
When i try to use VA through the X-Window tool WRQ reflection, I am not able to start the tool.
My doubt here is, Do we need to setup the environment variable for every new user initially for the first time ? ( I am a new user for this environment )
Supposing if i need to setup the environment variable, do i need to set it up for the all the Solaris Boxes i use ?
I am able to browse through the files.when i try to start the VA by giving ./go i am not able to start it up.

The RPAS_HOME variable is not set

I want to install RPAS Configuration Tools on Windows 7.
But I received the following error
"The RPAS_HOME variable is not set..."
It seems, that all correct

Hi,
Try creating RPAS_HOME as system variable in Wiindows 7 and reboot it. This may help.
Another solution is to invoke you program with a wrapper windows batch file which sets RPAS_HOME env variable before invoking target program.

Variable CWD not set in CGIServlet

          We are using a cgi on WL 5.1 We have a third party CGI that looks for a variable
          CWD which stands for current working directory. This variable should be set to
          the directory in which the CGI is located. For e.g if the CGI mycgi is located
          in /opt/dev/domain/cgi-bin/mycgi then CWD=/opt/dev/domain/cgi-bin
          What is happening is weblogic always sets it to the weblogic installation directory.
          This creates a problem as the cgi cannot get the CWD correctly.
          Does anyone know how to set this variable CWD?
          Have tried giving in the weblogic.properties as initArgs, tried to launch the
          CGI from another servlet using java.net.URL after setting the header CWD. But
          it is always setting CWD to the weblogic installation directory.
          As a sidenote, we can move the CGI to the weblogic installtion directory, but
          that would allow us to invoke only one CGI. What we are looking at is to invoke
          the same CGI's located in different directories

Env variable LD_ASSUME_KERNEL not set to 2.4.19 for webgate

The error show up when I successful installed the OAM webgate 10.1.4.2 in Red Hat Linux 2.x, my apache is 2.2.3, and OAM is 10.1.4.3.0.
I checked the matrix the file "Oracle_Access_Manager10_1_4_0_2_linux_APACHE2_WebGate" is compatible for Red hat 5.x.
I set the "LD_ASSUME_KERNEL =2.4.19" in apachectl. I got different error " error while loading shared libraries: librt.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
Was the webgate I installed not compatible for RHEL 5.x?
Where to download the webgate for 10.1.4.3.0?

Probably the best combination for OEL 5 is OFM 11g Webtier and OAM 10.1.4.3 WebGate. I even have it running in 32-bit mode on a 64-bit OEL 5.

I don't know how you have hit that in an normal environment:-( Can you describe what you did? As long as you start the bundled AppServer in the same environment as Creator, both need the DISPLAY set.
A guess, did you try to install Creator as root and then use it as normal user? Don't do that. Creator is intended to be installed by the user who will use it!
I know our updated JDK now throws different exceptions when the DISPLAY variable is not set than the one before. I found that (but too late for the release) and have the needed change. But so far I was not aware that any customer had actually hit that. So it was not considered a high enough priority to go into a hotfix. I'll file a CR and the fix will hopefully make it into a patch.
As a short term workaround for that problem (But I still believe your setup has other problems):
Go into <Creator_home>/SunAppServer8/lib/ and replace processLauncher.xml with the backup (processLauncher.xml.bak).
The only thing you will loose, is the little icon in the Gnome/KDE/SystemTray.

How to initialize a Prompt drop-down list using a Repository Variable.

the aim is to fill a drop-down list of a Year prompt only with year values that can provide data.
This Show list SQL statement works:
SELECT Time."Year" FROM "AnalysisCatalog"
WHERE Time."Year" <= 2007
Using the maxYear Repository Variable does not work:
SELECT Time."Year" FROM "AnalysisCatalog"
WHERE Time."Year" <= @{biServer.variables[’maxYear’]}
Error Codes: G689FFB3:SDKE4UTF
Expression: biServer.variables[’maxYear’]
How can I achive the result without hardcoding the Year 2007?

Actually this error does not cause any harm except a presentation inconvenience. In my multi-select prompt I am using variable expression with dynamic repository variable. Dashboard results are correct. Just variable's value does not appear on page (error Error Codes: G689FFB3:SDKE4UTF
Expression: @{biServer.variables['CUR_CAL_PER_MONTH_NAME']}). Pushing "GO" button on the prompt fixing the error but it's actually second execution of the dashboard.
Any ideas ??

Is it possible to use repository variable in conditional formatting . if no then is there any workaround for implementing the same....
Also i came across a sql of an init block.. which goes like 'exec OracleBi..procedure_name'
Is 'OracleBi..' a keyword or something like that....

PB60 - Print Word Documents - Error: TEMP viariable is not set??

I got the following problem with transaction PB60.
If I want to print or edit word documents, it works all fine in SAP GUI. If I use this transaction over SAP WebGui (Internet Transaction Server), I got an error that the TEMP Windows variable is not set.
Well, I don't understand that error. First, the variable TEMP is set and secondly it works in SAP GUI, so why is it not working with SAP Transaction Server?
We are working on SAP ERP 2004.
Help would be rewarded!

By the way, I have read in customizing help, that you have to set a environment variable called "Path_to_codepage" which should normally be there when installing SAP Gui. In my case, it is not there so I will proove this...
Any other ideas?

KPI doesn't filter according to the repository variables- obiee 11g

Hello all,
I have created a KPI that contains the following dimensions:
Year, Monthname, Trn_date
I have also created some 3 repository variables:
CurrentYearRepoVariable: holds current year (select to_char(trunc(sysdate, 'yyyy'),'yyyy') from dual)
CurrentMonthRepoVariable: holds current month (select to_char(trunc(sysdate, 'mm'),'MONTH') from dual)
and TodayRepoVariable: holds current day (select trunc(sysdate) from dual)
I added the KPI in a KPI watchlist and added as filter for Year, Monthname, Trn_date the CurrentYearRepoVariable, CurrentMonthRepoVariable and TodayRepoVariable accordingly.
When I “analyze” the KPI I don’t see the results for the current day as if the filters are not correct. I can see from the repository that the variables have the correct values. I have also created an analysis where I applied the same filters and the result is the correct one. It seems that the KPI doesn’t seem to “see” the correct values of the variables. I have also tested with an agent and it doesn’t seem to work either.
The OBIEE version is 11.1.1.6 .
Can somebody help with this? How is it possible with the analysis to see the correct result but not with the KPI and agent?

Sorry I was wrong in my previous thread.
Actually your approach is not correct, Product Number choose constraint that will show as per the selection of Product Name.
Coming to default value for Product Number you are going for sql override that is okay but not work with variable, instead of setting default values for product number set that to product name.
if not you need to go for 2 different prompts
Prompt 1 Product Name hit GO
Prompt 2 will work based on as you defined earlier with variables

11.1.1.6.4 Repository variables for DSN and USER do not work after upgrade

Hi,
The Repository Variables OLAP_DSN and OLAP_USER no longer work after upgrading to 11.1.1.6.4 i.e they return a connection error when trying to import metadata but the connection is correct if explicitly set without the variable used.
I have tried the following resolution:
- From command line execute commands to set variable properties via admintool.exe /command vartext.txt
Open rpdname user password
SetProperty "Variable" "OLAP_DSN" Initializer "'ORCL.GLOBAL'"
Save
Close
Exit
This script works fine as demonstrated by commenting out Save, Close, Exit and running. But it does not resolve the problem.
The issue is consistent as in the OLAP_USER variable does not work if DNS for connection pool set to ORCL.GLOBAL.
Is this a bug?

But when I am generating the package and when running I am getting bewlo errror

An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft SQL Native Client" Hresult: 0x80040E0C Description: "Command text was not set for the command object.".
Can Someone guide me whr am going wrong?

What happens if you hit Preview button in OLE DB Source Editor? Also you can use the same query by selecting SQL Command option and test.
Could you try set the Delay Validation = True at Package and re-run ?
If set the query in variable expression (not in value), then Set Evaluate As Expression = True.
