OBIEE Server crash

Hello Gurus:
I am having a server crash problem.
OBIEE server crashes around afternoon almost everyday.
error is "An error occurred contacting Oracle BI Presentation Services. If this problem persists, contact your ssytem admin. Error Codes: GDO7WNZA"
I tried to see the server log, it says
nQSError: 16001] ODBC error state: 28000 code: 18456 message: [Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'ETL_OLAP'..
Few minutes before server crash.
I cant even restart the services.
And after I bounce the server, it says
[nQSError: 58030] The specified cache entry could not be loaded during initialization.
[nQSError: 52020] Cache entry, 'C:\OracleBIData\cache\NQS_733394_47613_00006309.TBL', is invlaid due to either non-existing file name, size does not match, exceeding maximum space limit nor exceeding maximum entry limit, and it's been removed.

So Is it because Users are trying to run BIG LONG reports?
also memory usage is very high in like 2 GBs or something.
PLease help me with it.
Thanks.
~Vinay

It's probalbly the running out of chache space.
It's not a good idea to have your cache file residing on the same drive as your OS. When it runs into disk size problem in can make your OS corrupt. Have a look here on cache management:

    I need to Install the sabayon-apply rpm which could fix the issue after the Server Crash but unable to install it.
       Please see the Brief of the Issue.
    I got stuck up in installing the rpm after the server(Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.0 (Santiago) x86_64 GNU/Linux) got
    crashed Eventhough I am able to start it in Xwindows but not able to run or start EBS database along with many other programmes. Also The
    VirtualBox machine installed on it 've No issue, they work fine  But the host OS is not fine. as there are lots of
    errors in .xsession-errors. which i 've pasted below.  And Unable to Install the sabayon-apply rpm that could have fix the Issue.
    I would highly Appreciate if anyone could drop few hints and suggestions on this Issue as this is really Urgently Important for me.
    Please see the following Brief of the Issue.
      after starting the server in Xwindows I was installing the rpms from RHEL6/Packages directory on the server even installed 10-12 rpms

  • Running reports on Flat file schemas when OBIEE server is on Unix

    Hello
    we would like to know how Unix OBIEE work with flat file. Currently, in our environment our Development and Production OBIEE are running on Unix AIX machine while our local OBIEE environment is on Windows.
    As our devolepment and configuration goes, we have encounter situations where the flat file schema that were working well on Windows OBIEE server will not run on Unix. The flat files are located on a windows file directory and could be successfully imported into OBIEE throu Admin Tool.
    However, when updating rowcounts or running reports on answers in Unix OBIEE it would return errors:
    State: HY000. Code: 472983136. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 16023] The ODBC function has returned an error. The database may not be available, or the network may be down. (HY000)
    The same activity is working fine on our local machine when OBIEE is on windows..
    We would like to get some help on how to work with flat files when OBIEE is runing on Unix..

    is this the same question as [this one|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=4018049#4018049] ?

  • InDesign server crashes every time when calling deleteEmptyPages in script

    We are evaluting InDesign Server CS6 on a Windows server environment. We have an idml file, sample xml file that is tagged to specific frames inside the idml file and a script file for execution on the server. This script opens the idml file using the app.open api, imports the xml file and export the ID file to a PDF. Because we have table content with variable row count, we are using the smart text reflow functionality. Setting the text preferences with smart text reflow appears to be working but we also want to delete the empty second page when the content is less than a page. So, we also tried using the deleteEmptyPages property document's textPreferences. When this is set to true and the script is executed on the ID server using the sampleclient, the server crashes with the following message. When I do the same thing in the InDesign UI using the preferences options, it works as expected.
    The script looks like below - is this the right way to do it?
    var myInddFile = app.scriptArgs.get("idfile"); //"X:/IDFiles/AutoFlow.indd";
    var myXmlFile = app.scriptArgs.get("xmlfile"); //"X:/IDFiles/deleteme.xml";
    var myOutputOptions = "[Smallest File Size]";
    var myPDFPreset = app.pdfExportPresets.itemByName(myOutputOptions);
    var myDoc = app.open (File(myInddFile), OpenOptions.OPEN_COPY);
    myDoc.xmlImportPreferences.ignoreWhitespace = true;
    myDoc.textPreferences.smartTextReflow = true;
    //myDoc.textPreferences.addPages = AddPageOptions.END_OF_STORY;
    //myDoc.textPreferences.limitToMasterTextFrames = true;
    myDoc.importXML (File(myXmlFile));
    //uncommenting this line causes the ID server to crash
    //myDoc.textPreferences.deleteEmptyPages = true;
    var myOutputFile = app.scriptArgs.get("outputfile");//File("X:/IDFiles/sampleX.pdf")
    myDoc.exportFile (ExportFormat.PDF_TYPE,myOutputFile, myPDFPreset)

    Thanks Harbs. We are looking at full automation and so removing the pages manually is not an option. But I did find a script at InTools http://in-tools.com/article/scripts-blog/script-of-the-day-jan-24-2010/ that helps with automating the removal of empty pages. This script appears to be a nice workaround for server side usage. I used it on my document with multiple column text frames and it is removing the empty page as expected. If there is a better way to do this, let me know. Thanks.

  • JDBC Adapter: J2EE server crashes while sending large messages

    We want to use the following scenario to transfer data from a MS SQL Server to SAP BW via XI:
    JDBC Sender Adapter – XI – SAP ABAP Proxy.
    All works fine with a small amount of data. But if the select statement delivers too many record sets and the size of the transformed XML payload is greater then 50 MB the J2EE server crashes. A complete restart is necessary. It seems to be am memory problem.
    Here are the entries from our log files:

    Is this a general problem of the XI or a specific one of our configuration? Is it possible to transfer such large messages via XI? If not, is there a workaround for such scenarios?
    (Memory heap size of the J2EE server is 1024 MB.)

    I have changed my interface determination so that no message mapping is used. The J2EE server still crashes.

    Hi Nimrod
    In case of such an error I have no entries in channel monitor. So I can't see anything there. I have also no entries in message monitor of the RWB in this case. So I don't get any information with standard XI tools.

    The problem is that the source of my data is not a simple SQL statement but a stored procedure. So I don't know exactly how many records will be delivered. A update command is not possible.

  • Error while table Import from Oracle (OBIEE server 64bit & Client 32bit)

    Hi All,
    Problem : ODBC/OCI Connectivity Issue between OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BP1 (64-bit) server and OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BP1 Client (32-bit) local machine.
    We have an OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BP1(64-bit) setup on a 64-bit ‘Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise’ machine.
    OBIEE dev team members have 32-bit local machines.
    OBIEE “Admin team member” (who will work on RPD) has OBIEE 11g client (BP1) installed on their *32-bit local machine*(which is common client software for 32/64 bit.)
    Now, two ODBC connections were created on this 32-bit local Client machine, with OBIEE 11g client installed on it.
    One with “BI server driver” for connection to OBIEE server machine(64-bit) to open RPD and other with “Oracle database driver” to connect to the Oracle database on 64-bit machine, to import tables.
    With this setup done, I am able to open the RPD in online mode and view the existing sampleapp related objects present in it.
    But when I try to import metadata from OBIEE client admin tool using OCI or ODBC, it gives an error that “Connection fails! “
    I have the required tns entry in my tnsnames.ora file and I am able to connect to this database from the local client machine, using sqlplus.
    Kindly let me know if there are any restrictions in using this type of a setup combination of 32-bit and 64-bit machines for OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BP1 setup.
    If not then, what steps are to be followed to do the setup btw 64-bit OBIEE server and 32-bit OBIEE client to make table import working.

    Hi Veeravalli.. Thanks for your response.
    I have my tns file residing in both the location you mentioned on the server machine. (64-bit)
    •     {Oracle_BI1}\network\admin directory
    •     {oracle_common}\network\admin directory
    And also in the below Oracle_home path of oracle_client in the local machine. (32-bit, Oracle 11g R2 database client)
    •     {oracle_Home}\product\11.2.0\client_1\network\admin
    Also, I have used the full expanded tnsnames as you mentioned. Still issue persists.
    When I use , “DataDirect 6.0 ODBC Oracle Wire Protocol” driver, for creating the system DSN and try to import tables from OBIEE client admin tool on local client machine, the connection happens and table list comes up, but it’s an SAP product and hence it throws a msg to purchase the tool to go further with table import.
    I am wondering if I any other configuration steps need to be carried out, with the ODBC/OCI set up between 64-bit OBIEE server and 32-bit OBIEE client.
    Also, the source database that I am trying to connect to is yet again on a 64-bit machine(Oracle 11g R2).
    Please suggest.

  • Server crashes

    Hi
    We have been using the Netweaver Portal 7.0 for sometime.
    But off late I'm noticing the Server crashing when ever I perform certain administration tasks (like creating JCo or enabling/refreshing web dynpro applications). I also configured the VM parameters according the SAP Note and it was performing well for all these days.
    What I'm noticing now is the archive files <drive>:\usr\sap\SID\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\log\archive
    will become too bulky and once I delete these filese the server starts up and begins functioning normally.
    What is surprising is the archive folder increses very quickly and accomodates too much space.
    Is there anyway to decreace the log files size in the above folder location?
    Please advice
    thanks

    Hi MS,
    u have used a word VM in ur question. I guess you are using VMWare for this.
    To make EP work on VM, u need to have enough hard disk space on VM and the host machine too.
    you need to have atleast 2.5 gb of RAM only for VM.
    (more will be better if available)
    you need to configure VMWare Server Console properly to run the VM smoothly.
    There are tools availabel by which you can increase hard-disk space of your existing VM, without creating a new one. you can also try that.
    hope that helps you to a certain extent.

  • Server Crashes during GC/very high request rate?

    We have lately seen our production server crash with the same error code (47433441534B3448524541440E435050002F). We are not sure exactly what this error means excepting that we see a high load on the server (~ 30 Http requests). I don't think this is a huge number at all. Has anyone seen this before? any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
    I get the following error message and server crashes.

    Current Java thread:
    [error occured during error reporting]Hi. This doesn't yet have anything to do with JDBC, but it might. The problem is that
    some native code you're using killed the OS process running java. The output says
    it's not the JVM code that sufferered the problem. What JDBC driver(s) are you using?
    I ask that, because JDBC drivers (type-2) do use native code.

  • Server crashes after router restarts, different routers, same result!

    Hello team,
    I've had this problem before, and it's getting really annoying.
    Every time I restart my router, my server will crash. It's almost always the case. I don't know why. It's not my router, I have tried 3 different routers. I thought maybe my RAM was faulty, that's not the case either.
    Any thoughts?
    p.s.
    my server always assigns its own DNS address to my clients, so when the server crashes, the clients are left without internet. How can I stop this from happening?
    setup: Server 2012 Essentials R2, 2 GB RAM, AMD X2 3800+ CPU.
    edit: this is the dump file it generates. I just restarted my router again, and exact same scenario:

  • Server crashes when doing DBCopy

    We are trying to upgrade to GW2012. We have a new DL360G8 server running SUSE Release 11, kernal 3.0.93-0.5. All HP diagnostics on the computer and raid pass.
    When we do dbcopy to move databases from our existing GW8 system, the server crashes saying there was a raid controller issue. No more details than that.
    We've tried this on 2 new servers - same issue. Only crashes when using DBcopy - not when we copy large files using other methods.
    HP and Novell have not been able to come up with any solutions.
    Anyone have any ideas on this?

    GUI is not needed. You need X and x/gdm installed because of some dependencies in the agents allowing them to expose a GUI if requested, so they need those bindings. But having gdm or X running is not needed at all once the system is installed.
    And again, we saw a very similar issue. Either the scsi driver crashes - which disconnects you SWAP and the OS just seizes up - OR - it would cause so much I/O that the OS could not swap quick enough and you would never be able to operate the GUI to get in. We also saw an issue with the graphics adapters on these servers as well, with the GUI running we would see this behavior, without it, everything was fine.
    On one initially problematic box, we have had, literally, no unplanned downtime for 3 years once we ditched the GUI.
    Also, you can try to limit the number of threads dbcopy is using the -t parameter, e.g.
    /opt/novell/groupwise/agents/bin/dbcopy -m -p -f -t 3 /source_path /destination_path
    And I just thought of this, since you mention a server to server copy, If the source / destination is a CIFS or NCP mounted share, you can also run into another issue: oplocks. Disable oplocks on both ends, and on the linux box, if using CIFS:
    echo 0 > /proc/fs/cifs/OplockEnabled

  • Server crashes in VC Report (BPM reporting services) 503 Unavailable

    Hello All
    We are facing a problem when try to access a VC Report. In the most cases, when I define filters in the Form filter zone of my report and push the event button (submit), the query hangs and the server crashes whit "Out of Memory" error.
    Do you know why this happen?.
    As a remark, the report only selects over one table (custom bpm reporting data source whit 7 fields) and there's not complex joins. We are running in NW CE 7.3 SP3 and all my VC components corresponds to this version correctly.
    Best Regards
    Julio C Leyva

    Hi Julio,
    This problem is caused by a combination of:
    1. Huge amount of BPM data.
    2. Too little system resources.
    3. issues in the underlying layers that Visual Composer uses.
    Please open a message on BC-BMT-BPM-ANA for this problem. I know they fixed it, but I don't know in which version.
    regards,
    Natty

    Your original post mentions issues with jsp:useBean and jsp:setProperty, now you're talking about tag libraries and directives. Can you be more specific about what you're trying to do? Are you having problems getting JDev to recognize a tag library or are you having problems with the tag library when running the app? What directive are you trying to use that causes the termination error?

  • Help needed ,,, server crashing

    Hi
    I am facing one problem in Weblogic server, when I am trying to view on page. We have a requirement where we need to add some fields on the JSP page all the fields are input fields where user provided values in textboxes and radio buttons. We are saving these values in session. And we have XML where the values are getting stored as well , we have XML beans defined.
    Now to the existing page when I am trying to add a text field which takes the value and stores it (the below code describes it better) , my server crashes.
    <tr>
    <td> <a>Yatin Mehta's email</a></td>
    <td> <netui:textBox dataSource="{actionForm.ABCDocument.ABC.yatinemail}" tagId="yatinemail" size="20" maxlength="25"></netui:textBox>
    </td>
    </tr>
    I am not sure why this is happening . I have taken care that required code is added in all the other files like java scripts and controller. We are doing similar kind of operation in that JSP many times but when I add an extra entry as mentioned in above code, server crashes.
    One more confusing part is when I tried by replacing one already existing field in JSP with this code which I have written above. I am getting the required field on page and it is behaving the way I want. This means JSP is not taking any extra field, if I have to add one I will have to remove one which is present.
    Kindly have a look at the attached screenshot for error which is displayed when the server crashes.
    The Weblogic version I am using is Version 8.1.5 (Build: 2005.0921.200442) and the domain is Basic WebLogic Workshop Domain.
    The Java version is :
    Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_08-b03)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_08-b03, mixed mode)
    I would really appreciate your help, if you could give me some suggestions on this. Kindly let us know if you need some more information.

    hi
    do you have any custom NSAPI (native) plugins setup with your server ? when this crash happens, can you also provide the last few lines of the server log error file (logs/error).
    this is most probably happening because you do not have enough memory configured for your native app .
    can you also provide (if any) custom jvm options that your admin have setup in your server configuration file (https-hostname/config/server.xml)
