OBIEE Usage Tracking not collecting all data!

Hi guys
Strange problem here. We have set up usage tracking (OBIEE 11.1.1.6) and it is running smoothly, except that we dont get all the data. I have adjusted the field "Query_Text" to contain 4000 bytes, and this also gave us an improvement - it collects more usage tracking. But we aren't getting all the usage stats...
Does anybody have a an idea as to what could be wrong here?

St03N not collecting all data

HI
does anyone know why would st03n not collect all proper data, we found out recently that a user had scheduled a program as a background job to run and it ran successfully but when we look on that date we don't see that it had run and even that user doesn't come out in the history
any ideas why?

Sorry Sujit that I wasn't clear
the job i was referring to was a z program that was run be a user in the background.
that is how we started knowing that there were missing data in st03n
we were trying to see how many time that program ran and who ran it
so we went to see in st03n but we found out that there was no history for that program in there or any history for the user who ran the z program in the background.
there is no connection to SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR background job. this job is running successful in our system and all other data is being collected
so the data that was missing was on the 14th of march and then we found out that there is no entry of any sort in st03n for 15th of march, but we have data for 16th of march.
so now we want to know what happened

Usage Tracking not displaying in Data in 11g

Hi Gurus,
One of my collegues complained that the Usage Tracking(UT) which is OOTB functionality in 11g does not show any data expect the Time table.
Is this a bug, as UT is pre-configured in 11g, do we need to do any customization for this to make it work.
Can please anyone help with the steps to troubleshoot.

The steps are all done they can see the data in the View Data Section in the Physical Layer, but no data is appearing when they create the Reports in Answers, thats kind of weird was my first expression. I asked them to check the Business Model Diagram but they are of the opinion that as it is OOTB functionaly they did not meddle with the BMM.
Really critical and need to bring the data in the Answer in 11g, any quick help will be appreciated.

Usage Tracking not showing correct data.

We have configured usage tracking in our project.while creating a report with(Subject Area,Query,Request ) it shows the dashboard filter query of all subject area in a particular subject area.
Eg : If Subjuct area SA1 has a dashboard prompt query "@@@@' ,and Subjuct area SA2 has dashboard prompt query "$$$$$' ,both the querys are shown in Subjuct area SA3 in the usage tracking reports.

Make sure you are not running into the following BUG pre-10.1.3.4.1:
BUG 7233756 - USAGE TRACKING DOESN'T CAPTURE AD-HOC REPORTS CORRECTLY
We found this issue and verified it was resolved in 10.1.3.4.1.this problem is still there, and we are getting value of random subject are populated for drill down queries. is there any bug for this too?

OBIEE Usage Tracking Table Is Not Populated

OBIEE Usage tracking table (s_nq_acct) is not populated correctly for last a few weeks. I have no experience on configuring / managing usage tracking jobs, so I do not know where to start to solve this problem. First of all, which log file should I go to find the problem? And also which parameters should I look? Can you help me please.

Check that the absolutely correct and precise connection pool information contained in your RPD matches what your entries in the MBeans which then get written to the NQSConfig.ini.
Check that your UT physical model in the RPD physical layer isn't and old (11.1.1.5) setup running on a 11.1.1.7 env where the column definitions don't match.
Several log files. NQServer.log and NQQuery.log to begin with.

OBIEE 11g - Usage Tracking Not Working

Dear All,
I have enabled the usage Tracking in OBIEE 11g by using Setting up Usage Tracking in Oracle BI 11g guide.
Still i am getting the following error
Usage Tracking not started due to non-existent Usage Tracking table "12-Usage Tracking"."Usage Tracking Schema"."S_NQ_ACCT".
In my RPD,
Database Name : "12-Usage Tracking"
Physical Schema Name : "Usage Tracking Schema"
Physical Table Name : "S_NQ_ACCT"
This table reside under BIPLATFORM Schema in Oracle.
I have followed the steps mentioned in the Document, still unable to find why getting such error. Please point out if any mistake exists.

Why the 2LIS_08TRTK extractor can not get all data

Why the 2LIS_08TRTK and 2LIS_08TRTLP extractors can not get all data. I had used the RSA3 and get 10 registers, when a check at the VTTK table I had 20 registers, I didnt use filters at RSA3, could you help to know what happen o correct it.

CS5.5 Project Manager not collecting all media

I am having a problem with the Project Manager in CS5.5.
Although I have used it succesfully in the past, on a current project I am trying to archive it is not performing correctly.
The issue is that the Project Manager is not collecting all the video clips when processing the project.
My project and its assets are contained in a folder and not scattered across my computer or multiple drive. The settings I am selecting are:
Selecting all sequences (11 in project)
Create trimmed project
Exclude unused clips
90 frame handles
Save in different folder on different drive
When I process, I am consistantly missing several video clips. They are a mix of avi and mov clips and they seem to be the same clips each time.
The clips are located with the other video files. They play just fine in the project but somehow they do not get included and trimmed when processed through the Project Manager.
Any idea or suggestions are approciated.

XMLDecoder not returning all data...

I am connecting to a web service and viewing the response in the Network Monitor. It shows the appropriate collection of data objects - each contains 2 string variables (name, url) and 2 arrays all containing data. When I view the Result Event in the debugger the objects are there but only contain one string variable (name). The other string variable and both arrays are not there. I was able to track this issue down to were I can see the SOAP response is not being decoded correctly in the decode() function of XMLDecoder.as. Is this a known issue? My result is pretty complicated with nested data. Is there any suggested solution/workaround? Thanks for your advice.

It doesn't do the join and I get 1 record returned with zero's for both values. Why doesn't it pick up my join?

Error with OBIEE Usage Tracking

I have set up Usage Tracking in Oracle BI Enterprise Edition with the Direct Insert Option. I have created the S_NQ_ACCT table in an Oracle schema that is referenced as a connection pool in the Oracle BI Repository physical layer. When I run my requests from Oracle BI Answers and check my server logs (NQServer.log), I get the following message:
[59048] Usage Tracking encountered an insert statement execution error. This error has occurred 9 times and resulted in the loss of 9 insert statements since this message was last logged.
[nQSError: 16001] ODBC error state: S1000 code: 1456 message: [Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-01456: may not perform insert/delete/update operation inside a READ ONLY transaction.
[nQSError: 16015] SQL statement execution failed.

Thanks for the response.
You're right. The response seems to imply that the account does not have the authorization. However, the account I am using to access the database from OBIEE Repository owns the schema where the S_NQ_ACCT table is stored. So I am puzzled as to why this response is generated.

OBIEE usage tracking questions

I am using OBIEE 11g and we enabled usage tracking.
Recently, i have observed that some inserts to S_NQ_ACCT table is failing due to "String literal too long" error.
We have configured VARCHAR(4000) for QUERY_TEXT column in physical layer which is causing issues since the executing query has more than 4k characters, I would like to configure in such a way that the insert should not fail and it should exceed with first 4k chars inserted.
The one way i can think of is, in physical layer importing as a view(with subtr() applied on query_text) in lieu of physical table.
Is there any other way i can achieve this?

ORACLE DATABASE SPACE USAGE report not showing all databases in 11g

I have scheduled "Oracle Database Space Usage (Group)" report for all databases available in the OEM11g. But in the report i am not able to see all the databases in the group. Can any one please help on this.

We had the same problem in 12c EM. This had to something with "tablespace allocation metric". This metric was disabled for some databases. This could be your case in 11g also. This metalink note might worth seeing .

2lis_11_VAITM not inserting all data in ODS

Hello Gurus.
I'm using extractor 2lis_11_VAITM, when I test the extractor in RSA3, it is bringing me all registers of table VBAP, but when I load this extractor into an ODS in BW, It is not inserting all registers into the cube, some "return orders" are missing, how can i solved this problem ???? I'm using in ODS key Doc number and position.

Hi Sudheer, ther is no selections during data load, and also ther isn't any routine(either in transfer or update rules). It's supposed that all registers have to be loaded to the ODS no ?? because i'm using key Doc number and positions, so I want all documents with all positions to be loaded, but this is not happening, there are missing the "'return orders'".
Any other idea of why this is happening ??

FDM export to HFM - 2nd export did not clear all data from 1st export?

Has anyone experienced exporting a replacement FDM file to HFM where the 2nd file did not contain an account that was present in the original file and that account/value in the 1st file then remained in the HFM trial balance and caused it to be out of balance? Does the replace export option not clear all the prior file data? The only unusual part of it might be that the problem account was derived using logic group script? Thanks.

Thanks Hensen - Sure, it was easy enough to fix once I deduced what the problem was - although my solution was just to use the data clear function and reload. The real question is how to prevent it from happening again and it sounds like I can't do much about it - other than trying to train the users to watch out for do-over files that have fewer accounts than the original load?? Am I wrong to think that HFM should try to fully clear all previous data from a load file if there is a replacement or at least try to validate whether or not all prior accounts have been repopulated?? There's plenty of good validation in the validation step of FDM. Why not during the export step? If this makes sense, I'll put in another "enhancement request" to support.
