OBIEE11g display two x- axis and one y- axis in the same report

Hi All,
Please help me in displaying the two x-axis in the chartview of Same Report.
These two x-axis are having two different scales..
Can we do it in OBIEE or not ? We can do this in Excel..

showing 2 X-axis is not at all possible in OBIEE, if you want to show 2 Y'axis then select 2 measures and convert them into combo (Bar-Line) chart. Also these 2 axis won't be visible in case of only Line chart or Bar chart.

can I run one Mac version and one PC version on the same license?

I'm specifically looking at Lightroom. Looks like I will be able to run both platforms... Now to figure out a goo file managment system if I'm editing photos on both systems.
I travel with a PC laptop (can't afford a MAC yet) so I will do some editing on the road for posts to facebook etc. and the heavy editing on the IMAC when we get back from holiday.

Using more than one Business area in the same report

Is it possible / recommended to use more than one business area in the same report.
For example, I have a sales (business area sales) report on one tab and a rebates(rebates business area) report on a second tab.

Possible: yes
Recommended: no
This can certainly be done and Discoverer will not prevent you from having reports that use different business areas as you describe.
However, for management and security purposes it does not make for ease of use. As you know a user has the ability to share a workbook with another user. If they do this then ALL reports within that workbook are shared. If the receiving user does not have access to one or more of the business areas then some reports will run and some will not. This can be very confusing to an end user and a possible nightmare to administer.
My recommendation would be to have a workbook per business area and not mix.
If there is more than one business area per functional area, for example sales and returns, then so long as the users have access to both business areas then you could use a common workbook.
Personally I would not even do this, so my strongest advice would be to have all reports in a workbook written against the same business area.

How to implement two different websites with one section that has the same content?

I have two sister websites, each for a separate but related department in a hospital. On each of these websites, I have a main tab called library, which has about 30 pages within it for related healthcare issues. The library is the exact same content on each site, but the main navigation and header for the site is obviously different. I have been upkeeping this identical content on both sites (if something is changed, then I have to do it twice). This isn't efficient and I would like to find a way to combine them somehow. I don't have a ton of experience but I catch on pretty quickly and I basically need ideas for the best way to handle this. I have considered creating a third site, and the library tab on each of the other sites would take you to this new site. I have also wondered if there is a way to embed duplicate content into two separate pages (maybe with an iframe). That way I would update the original file and it would be updated on both sites.
The sites also have different body sizes. One is 960 pixels wide and the other is 690 because it has a sidebar that makes it smaller. How would you all recommend I handle this? I use Dreamweaver CS6 and my pages are all HTML

I looked into Server Side Includes and I think I would like to try it, but I can't seem to get it working. The problem is both of my sites are under a separate domain but hosted the same way I believe. For instance, I have two dreamweaver sites, but when I use my FTP, I have one large folder for the main site, then the sister site is in a folder within the main site folder. Although you can get to the main site using www.ukneurology.com, you can also get to the site using kyneurosurgery.com/neurology/index.html. I think this is what is messing me up because I can't seem to get it to work right.

Making one AAC and one AIFF library for the same albums

I would like to do the following.
Import all my CDs (done) uncompressed AIFF files to iTunes.
Then i would like to convert all AIFF files to AAC files and have those moved to a different library,.
This way I can one library that have the files I sync with iphone and ipods and one library that streams to my HIFI systems in my house.
The reason for having two, is because I dont want to have duplicate files apeering when I browse my library from remote on iPhone
I struggle to move the compressed files off to a different library, so I need som help with that.

Very simple.
Import the CDs as AIFF files to your library.
Quit iTunes.
Click the icon to launch iTunes, then immediately press and hold Option.
At the prompt, select *Create new library*, unless you already have another library with AAC files. If so, then select *Choose existing library* and select the *iTunes library file* in the iTunes folder of this library.
iTunes prefs -> General, click the Import settings and set it as you want the songs (AAC & bitrate).
Hold Option and go to menu Advanced -> Convert selection to AAC.
This will bring up a window to import and convert songs you select.
Go to the iTunes music folder of your AIFF library and select what you want.
This saves a bunch of steps such as converting in your existing AIFF to AAC, copying the songs to a folder, deleting the AAC, opening a new library, importing the AAC, deleting from the folder you copied to...

There is no device limit for the number of iDevices that can be synced with the same iTunes library on the same computer. Each device can have its own sync preferences with iTunes on the same computer along with iTunes creating and updating a separate backup for each device.
Do you share the same iTunes library and iTunes account? If so, then there is no reason to have separate iTunes libraries. Each device can have its own sync preferences with iTunes. iTunes content can be added to an iTunes library from an iPhone, but iTunes content cannot be deleted from an iTunes library by syncing an iPhone with iTunes.

Two people can open one InDesign file at the same time

We have Mac (10.8.5) users who share files on a file server. They are connected to the file shares via NFS. The users are using Creative Suite 5.5. When a user opens a file, they get the appropriate ".idlk" lock file. For example:

As far as I used to know, this used to prevent anyone else from opening that same file. But now, multiple users can open the same file. Whoever makes the first save seems to win. The next person who tries to save the file will get the following error:
"Another user has modified the Adobe InDesign document TEST.indd. To prevent damage to the document, InDesign is shutting down."
InDesign then locks up and starts beachballing. The only option is to force quit.
I tried updating the users to the latest version of CS5.5 InDesign which is 7.5.3.
Has anyone else encountered this?

Maybe it is something to do with using NFS? Our Mac's are bound to AD, and use NFS shares because they have issues with SMB/CIFS. They are connecting to an EMC NAS. All of the users have read/write permissions to the files.
I tried the same process on a test AFP share that I created from a Mac OS X Server, and then it works as expected. When the second user tries to open the file, they cannot, and they get an error message:
"Cannot open the document TEST.indd. You may not have permission or the document may be open already."
Why doesn't it behave this way on the NFS share?
The permissions look comparable for each:

Using Both BW and R/3 Tables in the same report

I am very new to Crystal and I have a requirement that involves data that is contained in both R/3 tables and BW. Basically it is a series of report sections (17 total) with 14 being from R/3 tables and 3 coming from BW). My first question is it even possible to combine two different data sources like that in Crystal? Second question is if it is is the best solution to create a master container report and add all of the sections as subreports. If so how do I link the BW and R/3 subreports together.?

hey Andy,
you can indeed combine data sources. you can even throw non SAP datasources in there as well.
however, as a warning, when you combine and then link disparate datasources in this manner, you are going to have very reduced performance...this is because all of the applicable records from each data set have to come back into cr and this will take up a lot of time and memory.
as you suggested, a subreport is best.
you could have your main report run off of your R3 connection and a subreport run off of BW. if you have a common field, like an ID field, you can use subreport linking on this field from the main R3 report to the BW report.

Is there any way to display document page numbers and section page numbers at the same time?

Hi, I have different sections within my document starting the page numbering at 1. Besides the section page numbers I would also like to display the actual document page numbers in the header (eg. you are on page 10 of the document and page 4 of the section). Is there any way to do that? Thanks

You can maybe use the Find/Change
Command+i
See if that can work for you.
But like Steve said it is good practice to use Paragraph Style whenever you have lots of Type, I just get lazy sometimes.. lol

Using more than one web font in the same text field

I know I can do something like this when calling more than one weight in a web font:
sym.$('copy').html('Adobe | About Us')
And the word Adobe will be bolder than About Us. But what about using more than one font in the same text field? I tried this:
sym.$('copy').html('UHLIG | About Us')
Now that doesn't work and I get a SyntaxError: missing ) after argument list
I then tried
sym.$('copy').html('UHLIG | About Us')
and the text rendered but whatever was selected in the font menu was what got displayed.
Is there a way around this to display two different fonts, web fonts or not, in the same field?

One thing to note is that you probably need to escape the quotes in your span tag. What you have is an issue with quotation marks - for instance, all JavaScript sees is <span style="font-family: in your first string, and only sees <span style="font-family: " in your second. Play around with escaping to see if you can get your span to work.

HT3051 can you change your Change Your Displayed Name if you have multiple devices attached with the same apple id?

We have both a Iphone 4s and a 4th Generation Ipod Touch both with the latest available IOS software on them. Since the Ipod touch was given to a preteen for Christmas and they aren't old enough to have their own email account or apple id 11 years old going on 12, is it possible to have a different displayed name for each device if they are both signed in with the same apple ID and not interfere with each others device in doing so?

@pdroth. Displayed name as in when you sign up for a apple id you sign up with email and a screen name(this is your display name). If you are using any apple device as like you do with an android device you have to sign in with either your google acct for android or apple id for a apple product. If one apple product is utilizing that apple id already aka Iphone and you can't set up a account for your child because of his or her age because of age restrictions, both devices will use the same info. So for instance when using things like facetime instead of seeing jane doe calling jane doe(basically making it show name of other person using your account instead of seeing your own name) can you make on jane doe and one john doe using the same apple id just different outgoing display name. Hopefully this helps.

Never override the paint(...) method of a Swing component.
If you have a sub image then add the image to a JLabel and add the label to the GUI. No need for custom painting.
