  • What is the use for lock object and how to use the lock objects

    Hi Guru's,
    I am new to ABAP .Can you please clarify the that what is the use of lock object and how to use the loct object .what is use of the Deque & Enque  function modules .

    hi ,
    below are some minfo about lock objects :
      Lock Objects
    These types of objects are used for locking the access to database records in table. This mechanism is used to enforce data integrity that is two users cannot update the same data at the same time. With lock objects you can lock table-field or whole table.
    In a system where many users can access the same data, it becomes necessary to control the access to the data. In R/3 system this access control is built-in on database tables. Developers can also lock objects over table records.
    To lock an object you need to call standard functions, which are automatically generated while defining the lock object in ABAP/4 dictionary. This locking system is independent of the locking mechanism used by the R/3 system. This mechanism also defines LUW i.e. Logical Unit of Work. Whenever an object is locked, either by in built locking mechanism or by function modules, it creates corresponding entry in global system table i.e. table is locked. The system automatically releases the lock at the end of transaction. The LUW starts when a lock entry is created in the system table and ends when the lock is released.
    Creating Lock Objects
    Lock object is an aggregated dictionary object and can be defined by using the following steps:
    o From initial data dictionary screen, enter the name for the object, Click Lock object radiobutton and then click on Create. The system displays a dialog box for Maintain Lock Objects screen
    o Enter short text as usual and the name for primary table.
    -Save
    -Select Tables option
    From this screen you can:
    Select secondary tables, if any, linked by foreign key relationship.
    Fields for the lock objects. This option allows you to select fields for objects (R/3 system allows locking up to record level). Lock object argument are not selected by user but are imposed by the system and includes all the primary keys for the table.
    1) Exclusive lock: The locked data can only be displayed or edited by a single user. A request for another exclusive lock or for a shared lock is rejected.
    2) Shared lock: More than one user can access the locked data at the same time in display mode. A request for another shared lock is accepted, even if it comes from another user. An exclusive lock is rejected.
    3) Exclusive but not cumulative: Exclusive locks can be requested several times from the same transaction and are processed successively. In contrast, exclusive but not cumulative locks can be called only once from the same transaction. All other lock requests are rejected.
    Also, last but not the least, locking the object is logical (locking with any enqueue ) .so, you have to use the lock object while trying to access from second program .
    reward if helpful ,

    Ranjita

  • Business Object BUS1001 - Material this is the Business object.

    Hi All,
    I need to activate the notification for the below .
    I got the solution,However we do not have any workflow consultant,Would look forward for the step by step procedure to achieve the requirement from you.
    Try by activating the workflows for material master Change. -how?
    Create Change pointers, Where can i get this? so that they trigger an event or notification when there is a price change more than 40 % in the Material master....
    BUS1001 - Material this is the Business object?
    I would need a detailed procedure for the above.

    My step plan in your case would look like this:
    Step 1: Hire workflow consultant.
    Step 2: Give him the requirements
    Step 3: Wait for result
    Step 4: Test the workflow.
    Or as an alternative you can search the forum because change documents have been discussed here many times.

  • MBAM 2.5 Reports Fail with "Invalid object name 'v_GS_MBAM_POLICY'."

    Utilizing the SSRS Reports for MBAM 2.5 Integrated into Configuration Manager 2012 R2 Cu3, when I run the reports it states that the view
    'v_GS_MBAM_POLICY'  does not exist.
    The complexing thing though is that there are computers that are reporting the HINV Class called 'Win32Reg_MBAMPolicy'  So I would think this view would have been created.
    Does anyone know the process by which the view gets generated since my HINV is reporting back the information, yet the view has not been created in the DB yet... It makes no sense.

    We ran into this error as well. Turns out that MBAM-provided reports to SCCM 2012 fail with an error unless the Win32Reg_MBAMPolicy class is added to SCCM, which also updates the SCCM SQL with required Views, including "v_GS_MBAM_POLICY".
    The solution that we finally came up with was to import an updated MOF file to include the BitLocker Policy (Win32Reg_MBAMPolicy) class into the "Hardware Inventory" section of the Default Client Policy. Once the import is complete SQL also gets
    the appropriate view created.
    The instructions on how to create and import the MOF file can be found in the link below.

  • Recompile all invalid objects in live database

    Hi Expers,
    Just need a clarification on recompiling all invalid objects in production database when the systems is busy.
    i thought of recompile all the invalid objects using utlrp.sql script in my production database since some of few synonyms were invalid after application patch script been implemented last weekeend.
    we have identifed the invalid objects now, i thought to run the utlrp.sql, what will be the consequences.
    Regards,
    Salai

    Hi Hemanth,
    I'd reserve utlrp.sql for upgrades, downgrades and patchsets. I do agree 101% with above point, I a not denying on that.
    If you really have a large number of invalid objects, you might choose to compile a few "selected" objects every hour instead of running a single-shot "compile all invalid objects". Rare but a possible requirement.I came across such requirement during early days of career during pushing product enhancement to production and we would have get to know the things and number of objects which would go invalid as we use to carry out testing on test databases.
    I agree completely utlrp.sql is suggested and should opt for.

  • Invalid objects and ORA-00600 after deleting XML schema

    I am running Oracle 10.2.0.3 on Solaris 10. I am new to XML DB but my developers requested it for a new application. Recently we have noticed the following issue:
    My developers have attempted to re-register several schemas using:
    DBMS_XMLSchema.deleteSchema(SchemaURL => l_strSchemaURL,
    Delete_Option => DBMS_XMLSchema.Delete_Cascade_Force);
    And then re-register.
    DBMS_XMLSchema.RegisterURI( SchemaURL => l_strSchemaURL,
    SchemaDocURI => l_strImportURL,
    Local => True,
    GenTypes => True,
    GenBean => False,
    GenTables => True,
    Force => False,
    EnableHierarchy => DBMS_XMLSCHEMA.ENABLE_HIERARCHY_RESMETADATA);
    Afterwards I have noticed several invalid objects:

I opened a TAR with oracle but they have not made much headway. Are we attempting to de-register the schemas improperly? Has anyone seen this issue before?
    Thanks,
    Brian

    SR 6204906.993. Up to this point oracle was able to help me identify that the invalid objects were related to the ORA-00600 but it was just recently that it appeared the Issue was possibly related to the delete schema procedure. The informed me that they were not aware of any known issues with this procedure.

  • Invalid objects after running catalog.sql and catproc.sql

    I have a db 10.1.0.3.0. standard edition with the 10.1.0.4.0 patch installed.
    After executing catalog.sql and catproc.sql the database contains lots of invalid objects in the public, olapsys and xdb schemas.
    I have executed utlrp.sql, the script completes successfully, but lots of invalid objects remain.
    Does anyone know how to fix this?

  • Invalid objects found in Repository

    I am installing grid control 11.1 to redhat 5.2, with repository database of 11.2 locate on the same host. At step 7 of 13 connect to database, I provided the host, port, service and sys password and clicked Next, and I got a simple error messageInvalid objects found in Repository. Re-compile the objects using:
    $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/admin/emdrep/sql/core/latest/admin/admin_recompile_invalid.sql
    <EM_REPOS_USER>.Ther is no other clues given. I checked the script admin_recompile_invalid.sql, it is pretty simple, just goes though all_objects and dba_synonyms for any invalide obejct for the <EM_REPOS_USER> user. If find, recompile. I am not sure what user is <EM_REPOS_USER> but the two queries returns nothing in my database for any/all users. The script should just pass and doing nothing.
    What could be wrong?
    Where I can find more info?

    Did you try recompiling invalid objects using utlrp.sql
    Also check invalid objects using :
    select count(*) from dba_objects where status<>'VALID';

  • 10.2.0.4, Spatial and invalid objects

    We don't use spatial. We have no plans to use spatial. We do use Intermedia, badly.
    When I upgraded a database from 10.2.0.3 to 10.2.0.4, everything went OK, except that one object in the MDSYS schema (I can't remember its name, but it was something like SDO_GEOMETRY) was rendered 'invalid' in dba_objects afterwards.
    I tried to manually re-compile it. It produced errors like 'table doesn't exist'. And I got to thinking that this was a Spatial object that was invalid because none of the other Spatial components was installed. I needed the invalid status to go away because my boss has a query that spots invalid objects and hassles me if any exist, and my attempts to say 'this one doesn't matter' weren't working.
    So I used dbca to add Spatial to the database. (Added a tick to the spatial selector on the database options page). The addition went well, and at the end of it... zero invalid objects.
    Problem solved, sort of. Now I have a new problem: when I ran dbca again to UNinstall Spatial, the tick against the Spatial option is greyed out and it cannot be de-selected and hence removed from my database.
    And so my questions. How do you remove the Spatial stuff? Will removing it break Intermedia? Is there a better way to fix the 'invalid MDSYS object' problem caused by the 10.2.0.4 upgrade in the first place, because I have 8 other database to upgrade in the coming days? And, if the simplest thing to do is to just leave all the Spatial objects in the database, will we be in breach of our license, because we certainly haven't paid to use this feature, but we equally certainly have no use for it?

    I would guess that most questions asked here could have been resolved by 'searching on Metalink first'. According to your standards and rules, then, that makes this place mostly redundant. Perhaps we should just shut the place down?
    No, I'll tell you what: if you find your time being wasted, perhaps you could just not bother replying instead of pronouncing on high how those so much less exalted than yourself should behave and do things. You could have provided a metalink document number without the accompanying attitude, and then you would have my thanks and appreciation. But, for being a pompous a-s-s, you get neither.
    Here's a clue. Classic Metalink. Search for '10.2.0.4 spatial errors after upgrade', All Sources. Your precious document appears only 16th in the resulting list. Yeah, I could wade through 15 irrelevant documents before stumbling over the correct one, but I figure upgrading to 10.2.0.4 can't be that rare; somebody will have encountered the problem before; quickest way to a solution is therefore probably to post here. Not, I would have thought, an entirely unreasonable train of thought, though obviously it is in your particular corner of the universe.
    Besides which, whilst that document tells me how to fix the invalid objects without installing Spatial, which will certainly prove useful for all my other database upgrades, it doesn't tell me (and neither did you) how you uninstall Spatial after having installed it with dbca. That's not asking you to fill in the gaps, by the way: I wouldn't want to waste any more of your precious time.
    I'm just pointing out that your "answer", as well as being pompous and arrogant, also proves itself to be deficient.

  • FRM-92160: WEB Client Version too old & Vis R12.0.4 invalid objects

    Hello all,
    I'm installing Vision R12.0.4 in a server. That server used to contain Vision R12.0.0 which I upgraded to R12.0.4 but still had some invalid objects (I already submitted that problem in another thread). I installed the new vision instance to the same folder used to contain R12.0.0 vision after remove the old installation.
    After all installation steps completed I tried to connect from my laptop but I got this error message :
    FRM-92160: WEB Client Version too old
    Had tried to uninstall all java from my laptop but still had the same error message. I had oracle form & report developer 6i and 10g in my laptop. Tried to remove that installation and cleaned the registry but failed to delete LEGACY_ORACLE_LOAD_BALANCER_GO_CLIENT and some other objects.
    I checked the installation and found 35 invalid objects, do APPS compile and left with 32 invalid objects. Here are the invalid objects :

    APPS IGCFG_CC_NUMBER_METHODS
    This is documented in 12.0.4 Release Note:549389.1
    under "Installation and Upgrade Customers"Thanks for the info. At least it solved 2 of my problem rows :P
    anyway, I'm sorry that I can't tried to solve the problem anymore cause the storage was needed for another installation so I'd to remove this problem instance. Maybe if I can try it again I'll let you all know. Thanks

  • Compile Invalid Objects

    Hi friends,
    how do i compile all the invalid objects in one time ???
    thanks,

    Hi,
    Here's what I do when I need to recompile a user's schema. Don't say it's bullet proof, but so far it has worked for me. I use it after each deployment to a schema.
    procedure recompile_schema

       l_name   user_objects.object_name%type;

  • Invalid Objects - Converting 9i & 10g forms to Apex

    I'm trying to convert my 9i & 10g forms to an Apex form. After converting the 9i form to HTML and creating the Project, I then try to generate the application and get errors. I get 'Invalid Objects' with the invalid table and column name listed. Upon checking out the invalid objects, every one is a "PUSH BUTTON' on the 9i form. Looking further into the Apex items, they have a 'Yes' value under the 'Database Item' heading. First off, push buttons are not database items and I think this is the problem.
    Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, how did you resolve. Thanks!

    When you have look in the xml file, you will see that the button is included in the block as an Item element.
    In the same Block element there is no corresponding DataSourceColumn element.
    But APEX doesn't take this into account when it uploads the xml file.
    Further on when you want to create the application, it will fail due to APEX thinking the button is a database column.
    Sadly enough we are not able to customize the query or to exclude the item (don't know why).
    Hopefully this will be solved in APEX 4.0 until then moving the button to a dummy block in Forms is a workaround.
    Regards,
    Mathieu

  • INVALID Objects to be VALID

    Hi,
    I have installed the ORacle and DB Creation and imported Dump.
    When I do first time in my Laptop. Its working fine. All the objects are 'VALID'.
    When I do second time in another Desktop, Lot of OBjects shows status as 'INVALID'.
    What may be the possbilities went Wrong?
    What is the solution to make the INVALID objects into VALID?
    Kindly guide me to rectify this Error.

    You can drop & import again, If again you ran into same issue, then what is the use of import again? You can try it is not bad idea
    When I do first time in my Laptop. Its working fine. All the objects are 'VALID'.
    When I do second time in another Desktop, Lot of OBjects shows status as 'INVALID'.So you imported same data in two different databases? then it should not problem. if you post either those are views or some thing else?
    If views you can compile manually, if packages you can compile you can compile package body/packages. Your information is alwasy not clear and stright forward,
    alter view <viewname> compile;
    alter package <package_name> compile body;
