I work in a graphic design firm and 4 separate people have received these messages on separate days using separate files on separate MAC computers. We are all using CS6.

After clicking ok the file will open; however, most of the illustration is missing. We are interested in repairing our files, but we are more interesting in figuring out why this is happening and fixing it. We are nervous to even open anything for fear this will happen again.

    brittanyesparks,
One thing often tried first is to create a new document and File>Place the corrupted one to see how much may be rescued that way (remember to tick Paste remembers Layers in the Layer palette flyout/dropdown first, and to untick it afterwards).
Here is a website where you can see whether it can rescue the file, and if it can, you may pay for a subscription to have it done,
    http://www.recoverytoolbox.com/buy_illustrator.html
    and another similar website,
    http://markzware.com/adobe-software/fix-illustrator-file-unknown-error-occurred-pdf2dtp-fi le-recovery/
As far as I remember, the former is for Win and the latter for Mac.

  • GP - WD Java: Cannot read callable object description from component

    Hi,
i use Guided Procedures and therefore i will generate a WebDynproJ Callable Object inside the GP.
When i try to intergate it into Design-Time i get follwoing error after i picked the WebDynpro Component:
Cannot read callable object description from component: type com.sap.caf.gp.quotcreate.model.bapi_quotation_createfromdata2.types.Vbeln_Va could not be loaded: com.sap.dictionary.runtime.DdException: TypeBroker failed to access SLD: Error while obtaining JCO connection.
Well because i could import the Model into the WD Component in NWDS with the given JCo i have no clue why this error is now popping up.
Does someone have some experience with this phenomenon?!
I also wanted to check the JCo's in Content Admin but even though i am an Admin (i am sure of this) i have no rights to enter this part. Also the SLD is properly configured!

    Hi Fritz,
how did you resolve the problem?  thanks a lot!

  • Universe Object Description in WEBI

I think this question has been asked before, but I haven't been able to find a response.
    1)  Is there a way to dynamically put the object description entered in Universe Designer and have it show up in a WEBI document with current built in functionality (no SDK)?
    2)  Is there a way to notify the client that the report fetched partial results?
    Thanks for your help,
    Gera Mats

    1) Is there a way to dynamically put the object description entered in Universe Designer and have it show up in a WEBI document with current built in functionality (no SDK)?
No. Not in the report. The description does show in Java Report Panel (you probably already knew that..)
    2) Is there a way to notify the client that the report fetched partial results?
I presume this is BOE XI+. You could use the
    =DocumentPartiallyRefreshed()
function. This returns a boolean value depending on whether or not the document was partially refreshed.

  • Object description using server api

Can someone provide me a sample or at least get me started on how to query an object's description using server api?
I'm trying to create an adaptive tag to output object descriptions for pages and communities.

I don't know if this would matter here, but I've noticed that you're reusing an identical UUID (clsID) in multiple possibly unrelated places. Maybe this is creating a conflict that corrects itself somehow when using the admin UI to re-save the web service. I'd look at that first.
If that isn't the issue, I'd try viewing the source and take a look at what the control for saving a web service does (WebServiceRepost) and see if it is doing anything additional/different from what you are doing in your code.

  • Integration for OM Object descriptions update

Object description for OM e.g. Org Unit, position were not being updated.
I placed value u201CXu201D in Semantic Abb of PLOGI-SPLIT and ran the RHINTE30 and it updated object descriptions for the selected PERNRS, tested fine in sandbox.
Now, when going back in sandbox trying to see the updated PERNRS in the table RHINTE30 through T-code SE16 and type HRHINTE30, it gives me an error that table does not exist in the dictionary.
Also, when I ran RHINTE30 report in the test mode for an updated PERNR, it does not show any PERNRS
    Please help

    Hello Raj,
RHINTE30 is not a table, it is a report, So if you want to see the text of Org. unit, you can check in pa20 or ppome transaction.
Short text can be find out in pp01 transaction.
    Best Regards,
    Deepak..

  • Query builder how to list objects, description for universe

need query to list objects, object type, object description, object hidden property for selected universe

All information about Universes available using Query Builder can be queried like this:
    SELECT * FROM CI_APPOBJECTS WHERE SI_KIND = 'Universe'
Information such as objects used, etc, needs to be retrieved through the SDK:
A sample for this exists in the developer library:

  • Installing a New Language- Mass Updating Info Object Descriptions ?

We recently installed a new language in our BI 7 system (Patch 16). But the Active SAP delivered info objects (namespace 0nnnn...) did not 'inherit' the SAP provided translations into the new language.
I can update each info object one by one with descriptions in the new language.
I can use the translation utility (once I figure it out) to updated the descriptions.
I can activate standard business content which seems to contain the new language.
But I'm hoping for something easier and less intrusive. I'm hoping there is a hidden SAP program that merely adds the description in the new language to my existing info objects from the Standard Business Content, without any reverse engienering, redesign, and so forth.
Is anyone aware of anything like that ?

Here's the answer from our discussion with SAP.
There is a program RSDG_LANGUAGE_AFTER_IMPORT that you can run. This program replaces the object description texts in your active SAP Delivered objects with the text description from the Delivered version in the language that you just installed.  Here are OSS notes that are relevant to this issue : OSS Note 562436 and 877049.
We executed this report using these criteria to replace default English descriptions with the business content descriptions in Polish for our implementation:
    Langauge Key "PL"
Do not Overwrite Texts turned OFF
It worked rapidly (150 CPU seconds) and flawlessly. I will say that the program looks for and changes the desription of EVERY object that it can find, and there is no control over changing just query elements or info objects. So step carefully. We plan on running this program in each system (after unlocking) so that we do not have to transport every single standard content object through our development / tests / production environment.
Once you are finished with this, you will, of course, need to use the translation tools to translate your custom objects. I've personally found the BI 7 translation tools to be much easier to work with than the earlier versions, but that may simply be a symptom of our upgrade process (we just upgraded to BI 7 from BW 3.5)

  • Regarding text objects' description

    Hello,
We created a text object in SE75 transaction and also created 2 text-IDs for the same.
When we tried to maintain a description for the text object and IDs in the logon langauge (EN) and attached
them to the transport request and subsequently released it, we found that the descriptions for the text object
and the IDs did not reach the target system.
Can anyone please give us an indication of what the problem might be?
    Best regards,
    Divyaman

Have you checked the contents of the transport?  Have you reviewed the transport history via STMS or via the log in SE09/SE10?  What do these tools say happened?

  • Class and detail object description Change in Web Intelligence

    Hi,
I need to display the same detail object (which is coming from Universe) with different names in multiple WEBI reports, how can I change the description of class or detail object in WEBI reports instead of Universe?
    Regards,
    Preetham

    Hi Preetham,
Where do you want to do this. If it is is just in the table header then you simply need to click on the header item, click the Fx toolbar button. It displays the edit toolbar with the formula
    =NameOf([My Object])
You can change this to be
    ="My New Name"
    Hope helps
If you want to change the name of the variable in the data panel, then I am afraid this is not possible.

    Alan

  • Longer timeout setting for universe object descriptions popup tooltip

When building a report using the Java Report panel, if I hover my mouse over a universe object the description will appear in a popup tooltip-style box.  However, the description only displays for five seconds, which is not enough time to read the whole description.
How can I make the popup tooltip display for 15 seconds?

The answer I got from Business Objects is that the timeout is part of the .jar file and cannot be changed.

    Hi Pradeep.
I would like to suggest that you Go to the transaction code:
    SE75 --> SAPscript Settings >Text Objects & ID's>Change>Select the desired object>Text Id's.
Now you can perform 3 actions:
    Create, Change, Delete.
    Hope that's usefull.
