Object flashing effect

I have a simple object–a yellow circle, can be either an imported Omni Graffle drawn object or a circle drawn in Keynote '08–and I want it to build in with the appear effect and then flash repeatedly until I advance to the next slide. But I can't find such a flashing action anywhere in the Build: Action pane. How can I give my object a flashing effect?

What do you mean by 'flash'? If you want the circle to change colors, you could create another, identical circle, just of a different color, place it in the same place on the slide and just have the original one appear and disappear alternately with the new one. Not perfect, but it might work.

I have FCE 3.5.1. I sometimes insert still images in my movies. Is it possible to insert a "flash" effect that makes it appear as if a flash has gone off, leaving the image? I suppose I could do it by playing with the exposure in the timeline, but that seems cumbersome.

You don't mean a transition, do you? If not, apply the color corrector filter to a few frames of the clip in the timeline. Keyframe the mids and whites so they go very high for a frame and then come back down.

Iweb and flash effects

Is there another way to add flash effects to an iWeb site other than using keynote

You would need to be more specific about the type of effect you want. Flash is not so popular nowadays since its not supported on a lot of portable devices.
Here's an example using Sencha and one using jQuery and CSS transitions.
Another interesting way of controlling animation, images, text etc is popcorn.js
Apps like Hype and Sench Animation are not cheap nor particularly easy to get to grips with!

Flash Effect Won't Stop

Could someone please explain how to stop the flash effect from showing up in every frame? I used it once, and each new movie I make using still images, the flash effect is added. I can't find an option to turn it off. Thanks.

Creating a flash effect

Any idea on how to create a good looking flash effect. I have tried flashing a white triangle over the whole screen with a quick disolve but I have difficulty getting a realistic, punchy flash.

Why not just cut on a big white rectangle? Another way is to keyframe the Light Rays filter...

Achieving a Camera Flash effect in FCE HD?

Hello.
I am trying to achieve a camera flash effect in FCE HD, but I don't think there is any effect that will do this. Does anybody have any ideas of how I can go about creating my own?
Basically I have a scene where there is a group of people in the film, and I want to add sounds like a camera shutter going off, and add a corresponding number of flashes to illuminate the group for a few seconds.
Any ideas? I am sure there was an effect like this for iMovie, but I can't find any reference to that either...

I'd like to add to what Tom wrote...I find that two frames is just about right to produce the flash effect.
As for the sound, start looking on the many sound effects websites out there. I'm sure you will find it and can download it for a reasonable fee. Or you can make it yourself by recording your own camera's shutter.

Windowless ActiveX Object Flash control

Hi,
I've written a windowless custom wrapped ActiveX Object
Flash control(IOleInPlaceSiteWindowless) that does it's own drawing
to a bitmap through the OLEDraw function using the IViewObject
interface. It all works great but rendering is slower than what I
see in the Internet Explorer Window. My guess is that because I
currently need to render the entire Flash Object to the bitmap
instead of rendering just the rectangle that is passed to me
through the function IOleInPlaceSiteWindowless::InvalidateRect.
Does anyone know how I can render just the pixels from the Flash
Object that are specified in the InvalidRect call?

I am not certain that you can change the loading properties in LabVIEW, you can certainly change properities after using property and invoke nodes. Have you tried reinstalling the driver? You may need to contact Newport to learn more about the initialization.

Objects flashing first before entering

Hi,
I have a project which has started to behave quite strangely. A lot of objects (although not all) are flashing first in their end position before entering with an effect. This is happening to text captions, images, callouts and Flash animations.
It wasn't doing this to begin with and is only behaving on some objects, not all. I have studied the publish options but can't work out why this is happening. I am publishing to high SWF and to SCORM 1.2.
I am using CS6 and completely up-to date.

How do I get the exact same "Flash" effect ("Text", "Lights and Optical") as shown in the preview?

Whenever I drag the preset onto the layer (or double click on Bridge) what happens is that the text kind of flutters in.
I tried matching the outline and background colors and the effect is much better, but not what's shown in the preview. It lacks the actual flashes, precisely what the preset's about.
Any help?

Though I'm new to AE I have to admit I feel rather stupid. All your answers are correct.
I gave the text a stroke with the same color as the background and checked the Motion Blur box for the layer, but didn't turn on the Motion Blur button on top. Now it seems to be working good.

Objects with effects applied to them print with a white background around them

I have an object with a dropshadow effect applied to it. When attempting to print my file, the object with the effect prints with a solid white box around it, blocking out a portion of the objects behind it. Why is this, and how do I fix it? I have tried to apply the "flatten transparency" option to the object with no result. The only way I have found to successfully print this is to import the whole file into Photoshop and print it as a raster file. I would like to preserve this file as vector...

I think the problem lies with your ripper/printer not understanding the higher level PostScript - convert raster effects to greyscale if at all possible - might help...

Objects, Textures & Effects all not showing up properly...

Hello, I've been trying to apply objects, effects, and textures, and they're all showing up in the canvas, and when I export, as 'all white'. I had taken a screenshot, but don't see how to import it here. But for example, under the Objects tab, I applied the 'Eccentric' 'effect', and instead of being this cool purple effect underneath my name, it's just pure white! And this is the same for every effect, object, texture I try to apply...thanks!

Not sure what you mean by this, but you might try trashing the Live Type preferences files:
Quit Live Type.
Click the Finder icon in the Dock, make it a list view instead of icon view.
Click on your Home Directory.
Click on Library
click on Preferences
Drag the file named "com.apple.LiveType.plist" to the Trash
Open Live Type.

Flashing Effect In Final Cut Express 4

Hello Fellow FCE Users!!!
I am editing a video and want to use a "Flash" Type of effect to transition between two shots, kind of like a "Flashback" type of effect where there is a bright light that transitions between two different shots. What is the best way to achieve this? I have tried adding a dip to color transition using white as my color but it's not exactly what I am looking for... Any Ideas???

use fade through color and make the color white. Then Tweak the speed.

Missing New Document Window when opening new document, along with other menu items: Object style, effects panel, etc.

I am missing many elements, it seems in my InDesign program. How can this be? I am taking a course at the local college (inDesign CS6), and when going through the book and steps, I keep noticing that I am missing things. For example: When I open a New Document - no new document window shows up on my screen, and there is no way to change the page size, etc that shows up. 2.) There is no Object Styles panel - Window>Styles>Object Styles - but the Object Styles option doesn't exist. 3.) There is no Effects panel to be found, either. As I continue the course, more and more things keep showing up like this. What is going on? I am not doing something wrong; my instructor verified that indeed these things seem to be missing. I purchased the Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium disk for Windows OS. Please help!
I did have trouble installing the disk, but thanks to someone in the forum, I was able to drag everything to the desktop and it installed that way. Could that be why this is happening?

The Knowledge Base plugin is not required, but the Master Page is, so there's definitely an install problem. Go back to Help, and hold down the Ctrl key while you click on About InDesign. What is the full version number in the upper left of the dialog that appears?
Also, go to Adobe - Exchange : Download the Adobe Extension Manager and download and install the latest version of the CS6 extension manager.
