Object limit on personal folders

I know it's possible to limit how many instances a personal folder can store, but i need a way to limit how many objects the user can have in his personal folder.  It's possible on BOE 3.1? Couldn't find any hint on admin guide.
Thanks

Hi,
if you go to the properties of a user folder you can set limits.
I guess you can do this also on a global level for all personal folders. If you go to personal folders -> Manage -> Limits

Share some knowledge with me.  Can my Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express emails in Personal Folders be imported into CreatePDF format from old computer and export to a new computer.

    Good day Sophia,
There is no integration between our CreatePDF service and Outlook or Outlook Express.
Our desktop application, Adobe Acrobat, will integrate with most versions of Microsoft Outlook to allow you to convert your emails to PDF files.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
    Kind regards,

  • Rights to view other personal folders

    Hi all
Apologies if its a newby question but any help would be appreciated.
We have a set of Managers that need to be able to view their teams personal folders?
Any ideas on how to set up rights so that a user can see another users personal folder through //server/BOE/BI
    Thanks

Not exactly what you are asking for, but you might want to enable Send from Favorites to Inbox:
    ·         Log into the CMC as an Administrator
    ·         Select Personal Folders from the home page or the drop down menu.
    ·         Right Click on the top level "Personal Folders" folder and select Properties.
    ·         Select User Security from the left hand navigation menu.
    ·         Click on Everyone and then the  Assign Security button.
    ·         Select the Advanced tab and click on the Add/Remove Rights link.
    ·         Grant "Copy objects to another folder".
    ·         Grant "Copy objects that the user owns to another folder".
    ·         Click on OK or Apply to commit the changes.

  • Can I set up personal folders in Mail?

Can I set up personal folders in mail like I do in yahoo mail or outlook? I have multiple clients at a time and would like to set up folders for each one. I find it irritating to scroll through all the emails looking for what I need.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Migrating to office 365/Win 8.1 from Office 2010/Win 7.0 the Outlook Personal folders are missing.

In Office 2010 I had emails archived into private data file personal folders/subfolders under Outlook 2010. My Office 2010 installation was wiped out when I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1. The outlook.pst files are still available. When I installed
Office 365 on my Windows 8.1 system, Outlook 365 picked up the .pst and populated the Inbox and Sent folders, but the archived email personal folders are not present, and also the contacts folder is empty. I haven't been able to figure out where on the hard
drive the personal folders were actually archived (in Office 2010 ) or if Office 365 will even support showing these personal folders.

Problem solved. I found a separate .pst file in my backups that contained the personal folders and the contacts. This file wasn't in the Win 8.1 documents\outlook files folder. So two .pst files are needed; one for the emails and the other for the personal
    folders.

  • What happens to personal folders and address book from old email when I change to new email

I got a new email address. I am going to quit using the old one, which was was with Comcast When I cancel Comcast service, how can I make sure that I do not lose my personal folders and address book. Also, if I can keep the personal folders, which contain emails with the old Comcast email address, will I be able to read them?
    Thank you.

    The address book is unaffected.
Comcast is as I recall a pop mail provider. If your using IMAP this is useless to you, so speak up.
If you right click the Comcast account in the folder pane and select settings. Under server setting for the account change the settings to not check for mail. Click the advanced settings and change the check this server to off as well. Doing this stops Thunderbird driving you mad with unable to connect messages for the defunct account.
Go to the outgoing server (SMTP) and delete the Comcast SMTP server. This will prevent you from accidentally replying to old mail and getting an error as the Comcast account is no longer.

  • Sharing Content in Personal Folders

I know how to create Personal Folders and I can see the access tab for allowing other users to view your items. When that second person logs in, how do they see the items you gave them access to? Where do they look?

    Hi Soren,
When a user logs onto the portal, they will see only the content that refers to their
    operation(s).
    Control over the display of content for any user will be provided by two means;
    1. security
    2.filter criteria.
Security will be provided via the Access Control Lists (ACLs) for Knowledge Management (KM) in the SAP Enterprise Portal.
Custom filtering logic  required to write the code to provide read-only display for relevant content based on the content category.
So the criteria  or properties to be added to the KM document when the authors upload the content. The custom filter will then look at the attributes of the user in SAP Backend  and determine which documents will be displayed at runtime.
The second option would be : Simply, taxonomies are alternate, logical navigation to folders which contain links to the physical content.
Please refer the prakash blog If you would like to develop a custom filter.

  • Updated yesterday and all my email personalized folders do not appear.

Imagine my surprise when I went to look for an email in Outlook and there were no personal folders. Where are they?

    Hi,
    What's update you installed yesterday?
You can check whether we can import the previous ost file to get them back:
    C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
Or if you have create a separate ost file when you configure Outlook, you can locate the file under where you put it.
Also, you can try the ost file repair tool:
Repair Outlook Data Files (.pst and .ost)

  • Personal folders not visible in Thunderbirds after migration to new computer

I moved my Thunderbird profile to a new computer (and edited profiles.ini to point to the backed-up profile. Now in Thunderbird on the new machine I have the Local Folders Inbox, Sent, Trash, but the Personal Files folder with my saved and categorized mail sub-folders is not visible in the left-hand panel. It appears to be intact in the /Mail/Local Folders/Personal Folders.sbd/Archives.sbd folder, just not visible when I run Thunderbird.
What do I have to do to get these folders and their subfolders back again.
    ...Doug

    Doug,
I had the same problem, and believe I found the solution. I was transferring a profile from one computer running Win XP to a new computer running Win 7.
I could see the file folders evident, as you did, using Windows Explorer to look in the profile folder, but they were not showing in the left hand pane of Thunderbird when it was running as they did in the XP machine.
I went to the "Tools" menu, selecting "Account Settings," and then clicked on "Local Folders" in the left portion of the dialog box. Then in the right portion of the dialog box under "Local directory:" I selected the "Browse" button. I then browsed down into the "...AppData\Local\Thunderbird\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\Mail\Local Folders\Outlook Express Import.sbd" ( in my case - the very last portion of yours might be different but should probably still be a ".sbd" file, and of course, the eight x's would be the random name Thunderbird assigns to your Profile file. ) I then clicked the "OK" button at the bottom of the dialog box. ( I believe the program then informs you it must close and restart. ) Anyway, go ahead and close Thunderbird and restart at this point.
When it restarts, my old folder structure appeared as it did on the earlier machine, and all the files were intact.

  • Microsoft Outlook 2007 - outlook.pst is not a personal folders file

I don't understand why this error occurred.
This makes me wonder if my backups of my computers are good operational backups.
My computers have been backed up on my network for several years using
    Microsoft Windows Home Server 2011.
I have reloaded Windows 7, Office 2007 and associated programs on one of my computers.
I also restored my outlook data file from WHS 2011 to my documents folder.
After opening Outlook and pointing to my data file, I receive the error below:
    Error message from Outlook 2007:
outlook.pst is not a personal folders file
I have tried Microsoft Fixit and scanpst with no success.
What else can be performed to repair this file?

Thanks again,  I don’t have a problem with paying for the software and or support.  I just want to be assured that the software and or support
will repair my entire outlook.pst file before I pay.  As stated before, I plan to contact Stellar this coming week.  Maybe the message I received was due to not purchasing the product.
I like the idea of purchasing Stellar Software.  I believe it will be useful in the future.  Although I have some questions about the software for other applications.
Thank you for all your responses.  If you should have anything else to share, I would be interested.

  • How to retrieve personal folders created in email folder list

I have previously created personal folders in the email directory & saved invoices etc. in it under company names.
Our computer was recently repaired & everything had to be backed up & resaved onto it again.
When we got it back there were no personal folders in the email directory any more. When I rang the company who fixed the computer, they said there were no folders saved, therefore none for them to retrieve & put back onto our computer.
There are some very important files in these folders - Is there any way to find them?

re:'' When I rang the company who fixed the computer, they said there were no folders saved,''
As you do not say whay they were 'fixing', I'm not sure what they did to the computer. If they reinstalled the OS, then the computer was wiped clean and everything was deleted.
If they only backed up standard Windows folders then they would not have backed up anything any other program (not Windows) data, is stored in '''Appdata Roaming''' folders.
Appdata folders are hidden by default, but the technicians should have known this, as it is standard.
It sounds like they did not backup your Thunderbird profile or any emails.
I have come across 'technicians' who have no idea that non Windows applications store data in the Appdata folder. Hence why it is always a good idea to do all your backups yourself.
You could ask to see what files they backed up, but it is possible they have not kept that information. If they still have that information, then you need to look for any files saved in this directory:
    C:\Users\Windows user name\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\Profile name\
If they did not save your Profile and you have not kep a copy/backup of your own Profile, then you have a problem.
Therefore, the two questions you need to ask the people who fixed the computer are:
'''Q1: '''Did they completely wipe the computer and reinstall the OS?
If yes, then you know there is nothing hidden on the computer as it was wiped clean.
'''Q2:''' Can they supply a copy of all the folders and files they backed up?
If yes, then you could look to see if they actually did backup this location:
    C:\Users\Windows user name\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\Profile name\
This would prove if they backed those files up and also if they did back them up whether they really were empty.
'''Q3: '''More specifically - Did they backup Appdata\Roaming folders?
If they failed to backup that location, then you have lost that information and may wish to take it further with them. I do not know what the contractual agreement was with them, but if they lost your data and they were supposed to have backed everything up, then you may have recourse.
I suggest you check the T's & C's to see if they do not accept any loss of data as this is something deemed as your responsibility. If they claim to backup all your files, then files and folders in that location should have been backed up. Then they could prove that those files and folders were empty.
