Object Link Concept in SAP PM

Hi,
I know about Object Links. I need some clarification on that. As per SAP help, link from & link to will not consider the from equipment & to equipment throu which medium will pass. Then how the system will know the hierarchy.

   Thanks for your reply. I am not having this scenario in my project. I am throwing some general example. Actually my question is that, in the object link there is called link from & link to where we can select different equipments to link together.
       For example, cutting machine & drilling machine are going to be linked throu object link. In the physical assembly, first cutting will be done & then we will go drilling for any of the products in the particular process. In this case, I am giving link from as drilling machine & link to as cutting m/c, it will accept.
      As the system, it doesnt know the flow of the process. But there should be some provision to show the actual flow of the machines.
Then how we can give the actual equipment flow.
I think I have a clarity. Please ask me if you want more information.

Open link in object link for calling sap R/3 Transaction.

Hi all,
Can anyone help with the steps to be done in order to call an SAP Transaction in cProjects via services to Object Links. We succeeded to get the object links from R/3, we are able to see the 'open' link under 'Application' in the Object Link Tab for some of the object type like Routing, Inspection Plan .
1. But some of the Object Types like Documents from DMS Etc can be selected and linked but does not have any 'Open' link(blank).
2. But some of the object types are not searchable. (The search provided no results; Choose other search criteria ) Message is appearing even though we give the correct search criteria.
Pls guide me to solve the issue

Object Links for HR Person PA10

Hi DMS Experts
I want to link DMS Document to a Person in HR via PA10 where we can see data of Person in HR.
Also I need help in linking new object to DMS.If these object are not in standard Object link configuration in Define Docuemnt Types.
I have Following questions
1. how to identify that its a Object.
2. Whether it can be linked to DMS.
3. what are configuration and developements that are to be carried out.

You can make an object link to SAP objects that are not shown in the
    possible entries list. To do this, proceed as follows:
o   In the standard system, there are already two special screens for
        the module pools SAPLCV130 and SAPLCV140 for the linked SAP object.

        pools SAPLCV130 and SAPLCV140 .
        The processing logic must follow that of screen 1204 in program

o   Create function module OBJECT_CHECK_XXXX (XXXX = object name)

Hi,
from my point of view the best way to manage these documents in the HR transaction PA10, PA20, PA30 instead linking documents to HR objects.
In the standard there is no suitable object for document-object links. Please see all the available SAP standard objects in SE80, function group CV130 under screens.
So you can go to PA30 and use the service for object button in the upper left corner. Here you can add business documents for each person.

Maintain Screen for Object Link - New Object

We want to create new object link ( not standard SAP) in our company.
I try to add new screen for link other SAP object : SE80 ---> Package : CV --->
Function Group : CV130 , add new screen . It seems as REPAIR , Ask me for access key .
Is it OK?

   Process the activity Maintain screen for object link in the first
   mode.
   -   Correct the entry or add an entry for the the object you want to
       add to the document link.

Customization of Object Link of Transaction CV01N

Hi All
   Can anybody help me out in Customizing Object Link of Transaction CV01N.
I want to know exactly how could we add a customized tabstip in object link other than SAP Standards like Equipment Master and Material Master.
How could i link these to R/3 transactions like MB03, FB03, CJ20N etc....
When i save these documents it should get generated and saved to the document data of the respective transactions.

hi,
You can also link documents with SAP objects for which no linking is supported in the standard SAP System.
In Customizing for the Document Management , you must maintain the key fields for the SAP objects that you want to link to document info records, by choosing Control Data  Maintain key fields.
1.     Program two screens for the following module pools for the SAP object that is to be linked additionally:
u2013 SAPLCV00
u2013 SAPLCVIN
The process logic must be according to that of screen 0204 in program SAPLCV00 and must not be changed.
2.     Create the function module OBJECT_CHECK_XXXX (XXXX = name of the SAP object).
If this object can be classified, this function module already exists in the standard system. Otherwise, copy the existing function module OBJECT_CHECK_EQUI (linking of equipment) and change it to suit the new object.
After you have completed the above, documents can be linked with the SAP object that you have added. You define the settings for this in Customizing for the Document Management System (see: Object Links).

Can anybody help me out in Customizing Object Links tab for Transaction CV01N.
I want to know exactly how could we add a customized tabstip in object link other than SAP Standards like Material Master, WBS element and etc.
I want to know whether do we have any SAP Note or any Badi to get the tab strip in Object Link tab.

Go to IMG ->Cross-Application Components->Document Management->Control Data->Define Document Types
choose the document type and double click at Define object links and "New Entries"
and enter
Document Type: Your document type
Object: MARA
Screen no.: 201

Document Version:Decide what you want

Add ESSR Object in a DMS Object Link

Hi everybody,
i am trying to create an object link to Service Entry Sheet. (tcode: ML81N, ESSR-LBLNI)
by sap instructions i did this step:
"You must create two new screens with the same number for the module pools SAPLCV130 and SAPLCV140 .
The processing logic must follow that of screen 1204 in program SAPLVC130."
and this step:
Create function module OBJECT_CHECK_XXXX (XXXX = ESSR ) which i have copied from OBJECT_CHECK_EQUI .
I have done above step .
I created Screen For SAPLCV130 and SAPLCV140 with screen No 1272. give same flow logic of screen 1204.
I created Function Module OBJECT_CHECK_ESSR.
After this What I have to do for displaying ESSR object in DMS as Object Link.
Please Guide me as soon as possible.

Go to IMG -> Cross-Application Components -> Document Management -> Control Data -> Maintain Screen for Object Link
Add the SAP objec and Screen
Go to IMG -> Cross-Application Components -> Document Management -> Control Data -> Define Document Types
Choose the document type you want to add the object link
Define object link
and add object and screen number

Object Links - linking cProjects' Task to ...

cProjects 4.0
I intend linking a cProjects' task to an object in the 'Training and Event Management' module (from SAP HR).
Can I have this object link from cProjects? The Event/Date instance from the 'Training and Management' module ought to be linked to a cProjects' task.
Any inputs / ideas????

Yes, the object link of the cProject is very flexbel, which can link almost every type of R/3 (may be not only R/3) object.

How to create Object Links For non standard SAP Objects?

Hi all,
I need to create an object link in cvo1n for a non standard SAP object (inspection characteristics) . we have two ways to do this
1. Create a screen for the rquirement by taking the standard screens as reference.
2. Implement badi document_obj.
I need a step by step process to perform both the steps. Sample codes will be helpful.
One more thing is that i need a link in the standard screens of inspection characteristics also. How to get a two way link both in cv01n and in the standard inspection char screen.

also you can attach the document to PRT also. but it will not show you in dms. This type of attachment is only from otherside.

Calling an SAP Transaction in cProjects Object Links

Hi all,
Can anyone help with the steps to be done in order to call an SAP Transaction in cProjects via services to Object Links. We succeeded to get the object links from R/3, but we are not able yet to see the 'open' link under 'Application' in the Object Link Tab. I read some documentation, it seems that an ITS server is required... Has anyone succeeded to do the right setting?

Hi Lacramioara,
You have to enter the ITS Web server name in the Web Server field (IMG activity Make Settings for Calling an SAP Transaction"). The server is required if you want to call a Web application for processing a linked object.

Adding additional sap object BUT000 in dms object link.

My requirement is adding business partner (SAP object BUT000 ) in DMS object link.
BUT000 is not present as standard sap object list in object linking.
I have gone through SAP documentation and understood following things.
1) Program two screens for the following module pools for the SAP object that is to be linked additionally:
     u2013 SAPLCV00
     u2013 SAPLCVIN
question start: Does this means add one screen lets say screen 5000 to function pool SAPLCV00 and
                        add one screen 5000 to function pool SAPLCVIN with SAP access key.
question end:

question start: Does this means simply copy PBO and PAI of screen 0204 and put it in screen 5000.

For adding new object first maintain this object in key fields in spro.
You need to add the DMS sceen to the perticular object sceen with screen exit.
The object sholud reflect in DMS and DMS screen should reflect in object t-code.
Check in SE80 if there is no screen exit available for the object ,need enhancement.

2] needs dms link with bom header and bom item

Generally all standard object screens are included in function group CV130, which could be displayed in transaction SE80.
For BOM header the object is 'STKO_DOC' and for BOM item it is 'STPO_DOC'. The screen are the following:
STKO_DOC: 0258
STPO_DOC: 0257
Regarding the routing link I think document could only be used in routings but not linked. So the document have to be added directly in the routing itself. Maybe note 372499 could be useful for this issue.

SAP DMS Object Links

I need to give some information ( such as material master / Functional Location / Vendor etc) in object links tab available in CV01 transaction. This trasaction shows some other objects under Object link tab. Can anyone explain how to
remove / Customize unwanted objects available in Object Link Tab.

Hi Harshini
To configure or removing unused object links to a particular document type, you can do it through the t-code DC10. First go to the DC10 t-code select the document type and in the leftside there is folder structure displayed called "Define object links" click on that it will display all R/3 objects linked to that document type. In the screen menu there are options available like New Entries, Copy, Delete ..etc using those options you can customize.
