Object name & name
Hi all,
When we try to create a bussiness object through transaction SWO1,it asks us for object name & name.
Can anyone please tell me the difference between them & what actually they are?
Regards,
Bhumika
For Object name :
Descriptive, English ID of a business object in the Business Object Repository (BOR).
Business objects are identified in the BOR both by their object ID (for example, SalesOrder) and by an internal, technical key (for example, BUS2032). Both means of identification must be unique among all object types.
Business objects are often addressed using the object ID from external applications, whereas within the BOR they are usually identified using the internal key. Initially only the internal key was used, but the extensive use of business objects gave rise to the need for addressing them using an ID. For compatibility reasons, both means of identification are now maintained.
The object ID is in English and can be a maximum of 32 characters, using both uppercase and lowercase.
Examples:
o Material
o BusinessPartner
o SalesOrder
The object ID is also used as a proposed name for container elements in the workflow container and task container, if an element is to be created there with a reference to an object of the type in question.
for NAME :
The name should be meaningful enough for it to be used to select an object type.

Object class name does not exist in IDM
Hi Team
We are process of Integrating GRC 10.1 to Enterprise Portal.Followed accordingly as per the SAP Note No. 1977781.
While running the Schema Job, we get a message Schema Imported Suxcessfully. While running the Job : GRAC_REPOSITORY_SYNC_JOB, the job
shows successful, but a Warning Message : User Adaptor Empty in SLG1 T.code.
I have checked the Path suffix,connectors,data source and all are maintained but no sure about this warning message.
Secondly,I tried for test creation of user on Portal via GRC 10.1.I am getting below error
"Object class name does not exist in IDM" Please see log below
Request gets closed stating Auto Provisioning failed.Please advice if someone has faced same issue and the steps taken to rectify it.
Thanks
NiteshHi Nitesh,
We worked on this issue for quiet sometime with SAP to get this finally fixed You can check all below mentioned notes.
First Check:
Please check the Note: 1915763 - Error Provisioning from GRC 10 to SAP Portal while adding or removing a role in Change Account request type.
This Note says that if your LDAP set as data source is read-only in Portal, then you need to change it to Modifiable in order to allow create or change user belonging to LDAP.
We have set the UME correctly and no longer read-only. But our access requests still used to fail with the following messages.
"Object class name does not exist in IDM".
Second Check:
Kindly ensure the field mapping for portal is done in IMG settings properly.
If it is fine please check below note 2033714 - AC10.0: error in SGL1 "Object class name does not exist in IDM".
This note is only to check if you have made any mistake with your portal mapping and doesn't address the correct issue.
Third Check:
Finally after implementing SAP note 1941250 - UAM: Truncated parameters provisioned on changing users from Access Request
our issue got fixed.

Object Name / Name Server configuration
Hello community,
I am trying to grasp how to setup the name server configuration in the sld for use with JDI / NWDI.
What makes me wonder is that one has to provide a namespace prefix / object name in two different locations (NW04sSP09 / SR2):
1. sld -> Administration -> Section:Server Settings -> Object Name
2. sld -> Landscapes -> New Landscape... (type NWDI Systems) -> Add system to landscape -> New Hosted System ... (type SLD) -> Field "Object Server".
What is the difference between these two namespace settings?
I checked SAP Help, several SLD Guides, RKT Content, SAP Notes without finding a clear answer, sadly. I would really appreciate if someone could help clarifing this question.
Thanks
KristianHi all,
short update: A test (NW04sSP9) showed that the input field for the object server name in (2) is not persisting the prefix information.
After restarting the SLD Server the field shows the prefix provided in (1).
Changing the name in (1) also updated the name of the input field Object Server in (2) after SLD server restart.
Problably the input field (2) ought to be read-only? Or is there a reason for write-mode I cannot find out?

LMDB - SLD "Source and target system have the same object server name"
Hi,
the system is a SM7.1 SP1
For some reason (Object-Server-Name changed), the job that syncs the sld and lmdb cancels...
I set the LMDB-Object-Server-Name to its original Name...
Now i've deleted the sync-config in the solman_setup and try to start a new sync, but i get the following error, when i try to configure the source-system:
'Source and target system have the same object server name: CISM318'
But the names are different: 'SM3' (LMDB) and 'CISM318' (SLD)
Any suggestions ?
best regards
Christoph

Apparently the sync needs some hours to finish a object-server-name-change...

Development Objects with " / " names
Hi ABAP experts,
Have you ever come across ABAP custom objects with "/" names, such as /BPPwhatever
I'm wondering if developers can use such names for custom objects instead og "usual" Z_ or Y_
Thanks,This is a namespace.
Developer organisations (SAP, customers, Partners, ISVs, etc.) can register their own namespace with SAP.
Then they can create their own objects inside this namespace without worrying about nameing conflict with others.
E.g IBM might register the namespace "IBM". Then they can create objects such as /IBM/PROGRAM1, /IBM/DBTAB1, etc.
If they created objects in the "customer namespace" (i.e. starting with "Z" or "Y") someone else could create an object of the same name in another development system and when the two development streams were consolidated there would be a conflict. Namespaces prevent this from happening.

"Planning object structure name 9ADCBAS is invalid"
Hello
New SCM 5.0 system
I'm trying to enter any Planning Object Structure and get the same issue as above.
I have had a look at this link Planning object structure name 9ADPBAS is invalid but the suggestion of activating all BW content doesn't seem to have resolved the issue. I have activated all InfoObjects in the Admin Workbench.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Hi,
This is for PI 7.0.
I got to http://<hostname>:50000/sld and choose <b>Administrator</b> link.
On the right middle/bottom there is a Object Server name. This <b>Object Server</b> name is <b>localhost</b>. Where do I have to change it so I can see the actual host. I am expecting it to be a actual host name. My SAPLOCALHOSTFULL is set to full name.
Please let me know if anybody has any idea about it.
Regards.
SumeWhat do you mean by assumptions Mr. Ahmad?
I have done the post installation steps for SLD and ran the template as well. They all finished successfully. Now as I said that it an AIX server, you can never open a SLD home page from the server. It has to be a windows based machine. I use my laptop to open the web pages of lot of SAP related stuff like /sld or /unseradmin etc. What I do is I type
http://dpix100:50000/sld.
Now you see from the above that I am not using localhost but rather an actual host to login.
So I do not know what you mean by are you working from ur local machine or working on XI server directly because I can never work directly from XI server as far as opening a SLD page is concern.
Now when you install XI on AIX/UNIX, by default it has localhost at lot of places. One has to change it. Read my last reply where I am saying how to change it and read the SDN link as well.
My question is that I do not se that Object Server link on the Administrator page.
Please reply if anybody has any idea about it.
Regards.

Planning object structure name 9ADPBAS is invalid
i am trying to access the DP planning book but then it pops up with this error "Planning object structure name 9ADPBAS is invalid".
can anyone tell me as to why is this happening and is there a way to resolve it.
Thank you in advance.
suresh gargHi Somnath,
We are on SCM 5.0 and face a similar issue
After the installation the standard MPOS - 9ADPBAS and the Planning Area 9ADP01 are not initialized.
This is even before the custom planning areas and MPOS is transported.
Is there an installation issue here or is it normal for this to remain inactive after the installation ?
I also read a previous note by you on a similar issue ( 9ADPBAS) that said -
Can you check what is the entry against your user name in transaction Assign User to Planning Book (/SAPAPO/SDPPLBK). Make sure that against transaction /SAPAPO/SDP94 the planning book and one of the data views of the planning book are correctly mentioned. If not add the entry and save while exiting. Next time you open Interactive Demand Planning the error should not come.++
This is assuming that the planning book / data view you are trying to access is not linked to Planning Object Strcuture 9ADPBAS "
Is there a way to rectify this while setting up the system ?
Or
Should we go by setting up the user in the trasaction (/SAPAPO/SDPPLBK)
Or
Is there any other option.
Please advice.

Is it possible to get object type name with help of key field?
can any one tell me is it really possible to get the object type name if i have only key field,
are there any tables which store the object type names & keyfield. or there are any functionmodue which gives object type name by entering keyfield.Hello,
If the PO has workflows associated with it, there is a table SWIWIOBJCT which stores details of the workitem, object key , object type details.
If you input the object key to this table ( For ex: PO number in this case) , it will give you the corresponding object type for the object key for Workitem type F.

How to obtain an object localized name?
Hi everybody,
I have a portlet that searches for folders and documents in the KD using IDocumentFolderManager and IDocumentManager objects. The problem is that when I use obj.getName(), I always get the object default name, It doesn't respect the user localization.
This is part of the code:
IDocumentQuery documentQuery = docMan.createQuery(folderID);
documentQuery.setShowUnapproved(false);
documentQuery.setSortProperty(ObjectProperty.Name);
IObjectQuery childDocs = documentQuery.execute();
for (int j = 0; j < childDocs.getRowCount(); j++){
IObjectQueryRow document = childDocs.getRow(j);
System.out.println(document.getName());
Does anyone know how to obtain the localized name?
Thanks!
ClaudiaOk, I give up. I tried this:
<%@page import="com.plumtree.remote.portlet.*" %>
<%@page import="com.plumtree.remote.prc.*" %>
<%@page import="java.util.Locale" %>
<%
response.setLocale(Locale.FRENCH);
IDocumentFolderManager folderMan = PortletContextFactory.createPortletContext(request, response)
.getRemotePortalSession().getDocumentFolderManager();
IObjectQuery subfoldersQuery = folderMan.getSubFolders(1);
for (int i = 0; i < subfoldersQuery.getRowCount(); ++i) {
out.write(subfoldersQuery.getRow(i).getName() + "<br/>");
%>
I got the primary name for the folder, not the French name. I tried setting my portal user's locale to French/France and that didn't help either. I even tried setting the portlet's primary language to French. None of that helped one bit.
Then I saw this post from 2005:
http://forums.bea.com/bea/thread.jspa?messageID=500018945&tstart=0
Basically, I think this is just broken or not implemented. I would contact support and file an SR. Unless I'm missing something, it looks like the PRC is not locale-aware. And that's a bug, AFAIK.

Firewall logging only showing object group names
Hey guys,
We are having out logs from the firewalls sent to a syslog server, however the issue is that when the logs get sent for a specific group of IP's we're not seeing the IP addresses we're seeing the name of the object group.
Is there a way to turn this off? We'd like to see the IP addresses and not the object group names.
Thanks,
BRHi,
Are you sure the names you are seeing are "object-group" names? I can't remember seeing logs messages that mention "object-group" names. Might be mistaken though.
Can you share some log messages?
One possibility is that you are actually seeing names configured with the "name" configuration command
You can check those with the command
show run names
If you would like to disable that IP/name pairing you can issue the command
no names
It should not remove the original "name" configurations but rather toggle (disable) the view setting

Xformbuilder error ... Could not save document Name/Name-Schema.xml
Hello everyone,
We're using 7.00 SP14 and I have a problem with the xml forms builder on one of our systems. We're having a 3 system landscape - all three are on the same patch level etc.
I was able to create a new xml form on one machine, unfortunately it doesn't work on our P-system. I tried to create a new form as well as copied an existing one - with the same error result.
While saving a project the following errors appear:
The following error occured when saving the schema: Could not save document Name/Name-Schema.xml. Reason: Operation is not supported
The project could not be saved on the server. Do you want to save a local copy?
Oct 13, 2008 2:45:43 PM - (ERROR)com.sapportals.wcm.app.xfbuilder.server.ServerManager :Could not serialize document: Operation not supported
Does anyone know what the problem is? I'd appreciate your help, thanks.
Sincerely,
Susanne
Okay I just found out that it's not possible to create a new folder in KM under xmlforms. That's working on the other 2 systems quite well. I have all the admin roles but somehow somewhere somewho must have restricted that. We found out that ice, etc, runtim, entry points and maybe even a few more aren't setup to create new folders in there. Does anyone know where/how to change that? It doesn't work with Details - permissions etc.

Dear customer,
Can you please check whether the repository /etc is in read-only
mode?
Please navigate to -
System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management
-> Content Management -> Repository Managers -> File System Repository
There you can see the checkbox for "read-only".
Please insure that this is not ticked. If it is, please uncheck it
and building/saving the project again. -
Hi,
We are running a Mountain Lion Server with Open Directory / LDAPv3, as far as I can tell. My responsibility is to get my CentOS 6.3 box running Samba v. 3.5.10-125.el6 to authenticate users against the ML / OD box. I can ssh to the CentOS box OK and I can get Guest access to the Samba share to go OK too. Also, the OD passwords on the LDAP server are set to 'Open Directory' so I guess that means that they are encrypted and the Samba server is set to send encrypted passwords. But when a user tries to properly authenticate using either say via a Mac client Finder [Command-K], or smbclient, the Samba server will generate this message:
check_ntlm_password: Authentication for user ['name'] -> ['name'] FAILED with error NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
(I am blanking out the user name on purpose).
Of course there is more to the story, but those are the basics.
Here are the relevant parts of my smb.conf. FWIW, the CentOS / Samba box is called Jupiter.
Thank you,
NickZ

I don't know if any/all these conditions need to be matched, but: the printer was on the network using an HP print server JetDirect EX Plus, and the computer(s) in question were connecting directly to it (not via a print server). It's been too long ago, but there were always several errors in the System Log (Win XP Event Viewer) that correlated with the errors on the OS X server.

Business Objects parameters names to configure using JAVA SDK for report generation
Post Author: christof
CA Forum: JAVA
Hello All, I have created a small set of reports which need to be generated from a Java application.The Crystal Reports configuration was relatively easy for the parameters as you have control over their names but is this also the case in Business Objects. For some reports I have created parameters linked to a user prompt. What would the parameters name be that I should use in the Java application.Is this then just the prompt text or should we use e.g. a number e.g parameter 1,.. Kind Regards,Post Author: Ted Ueda
CA Forum: JAVA
Hello Christof,If you're referring to the Crystal Report parameters via code, then you would refer to them by their parameter name, and not their prompt string.I note that, with BusinessObjects (now called Desktop Intelligence), prompts were referred to by their prompt string.Sincerely,Ted Ueda
