Object state not working if exported in PDF

I'm working with Digital Publishing Suite and I have deeply appreciated the function "Object state". When used in connection with buttons and, eventually, the "Overlay Creator" it enables superb effects.
I wonder about the fact that this helpful function does'nt work if the document is exported in PDF.
Just in fact, at the moment, this feature works only with DPS, but I know that it is present since CS4, in times when DPS did'nt exist.
Can you explain this?
And when will be available in PDF exported documents?
Thanks
Lorenzo

Hi Rahul,
I have created the hyperlinks in the interactive (html) mode.
While creating the hyperlink you just need to check one option "Use Complete URL path". This option will enable the hyperlink
in the pdf mode too.
FYI.. I am on BO XI 3.1

  • DrillDown Option not Working while Export To PDF in SSRS

    Hi Friends,
I worked on ssrs report used DRILLDOWN option. When I export drilldown report to pdf, with groups collapsed, pdf shows no data and no +/- on the left of the group name.  Basically, it shows no data and no option to drilldown(only header)s .
When this report is exported to Excel, it is perfect and works exactly as it would in VS2005.
Any setting to make sure an expanded report is exported to pdf?  Or do i manually expand all drilldown options and then export?
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks and Regards,
    LuckyAbdul

    Hi LuckyAbdul,
    From the
document, we can know that “Dynamic show and hide elements are not supported in PDF. The PDF document is rendered to match the current state of any items in the report. For example, if the item is displayed when the report is run initially, then the
item is rendered. Images that can be toggled are not rendered, if they are hidden when the report is exported.”
So just as Visakh said, this behavior is by design. If we want to see entire data in PDF, we should expand the node (click the plus signs (+) in the report) to show the demanded detail data ahead, then export the report to PDF.
    Hope this helps.

  • Hyperlinks do not work when exporting to PDF (Crystal and Visual Cut)

I have a question about Crystal Reports XI Release 2 and Visual Cut 11. I create reports in Crystal and export them using Visual Cut. Some reports contain hyperlinks to files on a network drive. However, the links only work while in Crystal. The PDF files that are printed through Visual Cut display the links, but they are not clickable. How can this issue be fixed?
In case it helps, the links also work when I export reports from Crystal to HTML, Word, and Excel, but not when I export to Acrobat. I believe it is a problem with tagging/accessibilityfeatures. So is there a setting/formula in Crystal or Visual Cut that would allow the exported PDF files to be accessible?

While Crystal exports to pdf indeed lose hyperlink functionality (both in Crystal as well as in Visual CUT), Visual CUT allows you to use Crystal formulas (acting as hidden Tags) to create hyperlinks in the resulting pdf file. Another option supported by Visual CUT it to automatically detect file references in the pdf text and turn them into hyperlinks.  Contact MilletSoftware for more detail.

  • Object States not working on iPad

    Hello!
Crossing my fingers someone on here can help.
I am working on, and nearly finished a children's book I made for the iPad. Everything looks great on my desktop content viewer but when I preview the app using the content viewer on my iPad a lot of my object states are being ignored. I searched these forums on people running into this problem but nothing seemed to turn up that related directly to myself.
A lot of my object states are triggered by a button click and all timed to start one after the other so the image sequences I made in after effects look as seamless as possible. After the button click however it seems as though only 1 object state runs and then the rest are ignored.
Here is a link to a video I recorded using quicktime to show how the app will function. I was hoping to record sound this wknd and hope this problem can be resolved soon!

  • Object state not working on android

    Hope someone can help.
We use a + sign to indicate there is more information, using object states to move between these 2 elements, however whilst these work fine on iOS devices, when the same files are built for Android these states do not work.
Press one of the + signs and it just vanishes, without going to the new content.
    Any clues, please.

Are you using the legacy AIR viewer or the native Android viewer? Try the new native Android viewer instead. https://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/help/building-android-apps.html

  • Re: Movie Clip not working in exported interactive PDF. Can anyone help?

I've imported a movie clip into an InDesign document, but when I've come to export it as an interactive PDF it isn't working. I've made sure the Button and Media box is clicked in the export options to include all. I've exported it as a flash file and that works fine, so I'm assuming everything i've done in InDesign is okay. Any ideas?

Im having a the same issue, i have 2 f4v files inplace and one SWF. And when I export to a SWF and bring it back into indesign to be exported as an interactive PDF it the 2 f4v and SWF files in it will not work.

  • Crystal Report (visual studio 2005)-Hyperlink not working on exported PDF

I have created a crystal report by using VS 2005, there are some hyperlinks inside the report.
After i exported the report to PDF, I check the PDF file, none of the link contains inside the PDF file.
It seems a bug, i google this issue, some people can export to RTF first and then in RTF save as PDF, then the link should be there. I tried it, it works, but it totally mess up my report layout.
    Please advise,
    Tommy

Typing the terms "pdf export hyperlink crystal" in the search box at the top right corner of this page comes up with the following KB (5th hit):
[Hyperlinks to files do not work when exported to Portable Document Format (PDF)|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_bi/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes%7B6163636573733d36393736354636443646363436353344333933393338323636393736354637333631373036453646373436353733354636453735364436323635373233443330333033303331333233313336333633363337%7D.do].
"Messed" up report export to RTF does not tell me much either. A link to a screenshot will be great.

  • The "portable document format" icon is a Word 2010 icon, so selecting Adobe Reader as action does not work to display the PDF.

In the Applications tab -- Content Type -- the "portable document format" icon is a Word 2010 icon (not Adobe), so selecting Adobe Reader or preview in Firefox as action does not work to display the PDF. I can see this Applications difference because my other Firefox laptop has the Adobe icon, and I can view PDFs. Essentially, a PDF is coming in as a Word document -- and the computer tries to open it up as a Word file.
How do I get the correct PDF icon in the Applications list -- the same way it displays (and works) on my other laptop.

Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape 10.1.7 ?
I think you need to add this to the list of applications and the action to take on the type of content. This can also be managed in the about:permissions page. [[Permissions Manager - Give certain websites the ability to store passwords, set cookies and more]]

  • Bookmarks not working in multi-document PDF application

Why are bookmarks not working in multi-document PDF application when uploaded to the web? We created a multi-document PDF application. All bookmarks and links work on our systems. All work on the customer's system. They do not work when uploaded to the customers website. Their IT department says its an issue of relative vs. absolute addressing. We've created applications like this for years without running into this issue. Can't find anything about it in Acrobat Help. Can anyone help or lead me to help? Thx much, Sandy

Have you tried opening the file in your browser to see if the bookmarks are working?  To open the file in your browser you need to do this:
    1) Launch your favorite browser;
    2) File >> Open >> Select your pdf file
See this picture to see what I am talking about.  You might need to click on it to magnify it:

  • My multi-state object disappear's when I export to PDF but works in Preview mode?

I created a multi-state object which is a series of logos that appear when a button is clicked. There are two buttons one is set to go the the previous state and one is set to go to the next state. When I view it in the preview mode it works fine but when I export it to PDF nothing happens when I click the buttons. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Multi-state objects are NOT supported in PDF. The PDF standard preceded the development of multi-state objects. It's now under the control of the ISO so may be slow to adapt.
They work when exporting to SWF or with the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite.
