Object type and Transport request for Category group.

Dear All,
I have configured category group for objective setting and appraisal (PD module) in development serverwhich is to be transported to quality. Can any body let me know how to generate the tranport request for that?
What is the object type for Category group and category?

In objectice setting the top most hierarchy for appraisal catalog is category group followed by category and then template (VA) .
My query is related to category group. For category and template system has standatd upload/download utility for transport, but for category there is no as such option therfore in such a scenario how to transport category group.
Also I want to know the object type for criteria group and criteria.

Hi Atanu,
   You can try following two methods -
   1. Display SAPSCRIPT and use option goto -> Object directory entry and change the "Package".
   2. If that is not allowed, try using Txn. SE03 and try changing Object directory entry from there.
If you assign a package which is transportable, system will prompt you for a transportable request.

Transport request for function group

Hi All,
I have developed a function module in a function group say 'zdeep'. I have moved the transport request for newly developed function module to production. But there Iam unable to run the function module.
Should we transport the function group also to production?
If so, how can we get the transport request number for the function group?
I have tried in se80. but there iam not able to track the request no for the function group.

yes i think if u r doing any chnages in func group then it also has to be moved to Reflect chnages..also some proper order is to be maintained while moving TR

Object type in transport request

Hi all,
I created 2 diffrent structure(not table type) in DDIC, but in the transport request, one is included as table definition and the other as table. I have very confused with the 2 concept, anyone can answer my question, thank you.

It is input help(F4 help) or search help .The user can display the list of all possible input values for a screen field with this help.

Log for Addition/Deletion of object in a Transport Request

Dear Friends,
Recently I had a issue where I tried deleting an object from a transport request and I got the message that object is deleted successfully.
But when the transport was imported then it failed with Sy-subrc 8 because of the same object in transport. The reason for the same could be :
1.) Either the object was not deleted from the transport request.
2.) Or Some one else added the same object again in the request.
I want to read the log of this transport in such a way that I see when a object has been added/deleted from a transport request along with SAP User ID of the person doing it.
Is this possible ? If so kindly share the steps with me.

I hope nothing of that sort is available as the transport requests will again have tasks under them.
The changes done to the task will have to be tracked in that case but SAP doesn't have that task change logging as far as I know.
All E0* tables relates to transports and objects under these transports none of them have logs on this nor even any transactions which allow user to edit the transport object.
You get an action log which provides who created it and who releaed them.
But if you configure CharM on Solution manager I hope you can track each changes.

Transport request for BW queries and roles.

Hi All,
we need to craete 20 bw queries on 4 multiproviders. We need to save 18 queries as workbooks in one role and the other 2 queries in other role. Both the roles and queries does not exist and will be created in Developement environment.
We just want to know how we can transport them in the quality environment. What is the right method to transport them.
Can we transport all the object queries, workbooks and roles in number of transport requests so that if few queries or workbooks needs any changes then we do not have to transport all objects just the request which includes the changed objects.

Thanks a lot for all of you for your quick response. But i still have questions.
If we create one transport for roles and one transport for each query then we will be having 21 transport requests. But the transport request on same multiprovider can lock the clacuated key figures and restricted key figures, if they are present in more than one query, it means they will be present in more than one transport requests, so they can be locked and trasport request will be failed.
If i just create one transport request for all the objects roles, quaries & workbooks it will not loack any object, and transport request will not fail. But i have to transport all the objects again if i need to change one of the queries.
Please let me know if there is a method that i can divide my queries as per multiprovider and can create transport requests as per multiprovider so that we can not lock calculated keyfigures and restricted key figures. Is workbooks can be published in the role in the same transport request. If it is and if in more than one transport request we are publishing the different workbooks to the same role, will it lock the role.

How & Where to create the Target Groups and Transport Targets for Business

I am Transporting the scenarios from Development 500 client XI system to Development 500 client PI7.1 system. I have taken the exports of Technical system and Business System from the DEV XI system and correspondingly have imported the same in the PI7.1 system. I can see the all the business system in the Business system SLD of the PI7.1 system. I would like to assign the Business System Groups and Transport Targets for every business system that I want to transport. How can I do that ? Whether this is to be done in DEV XI system or the DEV PI system? Can somebody elaborate the step by step method to create the Groups and Target system for the every Business system so that I can import the object of the Integration Directory sucessfully................................

Thanks for the reply and good illustration............Still going further after defing the destination for transport in the source SLD Business system ( XI dev server) , then we should export it and subsequently import it in the SLD of the PI 7.1 ie the destination server. Then we should transport the objects of Integration Repository and Integration Directory to the new PI7.1 server. Is this the right way to proceed.? Hope that this will not give the error while importing the objects in Integration Directory. An typical which comes while importing the objects in the Integration Directory is as follows:-
*Import failed because of business system transfer of object Communication Component | PCM: Obligatory transport target for business system PCM not found in System Landscape Directory*

Transport Request for LSMW Object wise

I have Created Project, Subproject and Objects in LSMW.
Project Name      : COND_PROJECT
Subproject Name : COND_SUBPROJ
Object Name       : COND_OBJ1 -------->(Here i have created total 10 Objects)
                            COND_OBJ2
                            COND_OBJ10
Now, i want to create transport request for COND_PROJECT,COND_SUBPROJ,COND_OBJ1 to COND_OBJ4.
Another transport request for COND_PROJECT,COND_SUBPROJ,COND_OBJ5 to COND_OBJ8.
Another transport request for COND_PROJECT,COND_SUBPROJ,COND_OBJ9 to COND_OBJ10.
Is this Possible?..Or the request will be created for entire project?

To transport the LSMW,
Goto tocode : LSMW-> Menu->Extras->Generate Change request..
On the screen enter the required Project-Sub Prj and Object names...
Similarly repeat the step for the other sub proj and Objects in the LSMW project

When i try to view the print preview for a perticular doc type, system is giving the error as "No archive information found for object type and document type"
Diagnosis
    No information was found about optical archiving. This may be due to
    either of the following reasons:
    1. No valid archiving parameters were passed
    2. Your system is not configured for optical archiving

Hello,
You are trying to Print & also archive by selecting the option Print & Archive.
You have to do archivelink configurations and then create document type and assign to the object type with content repository with archivelink table.
If you want to archive the spool or output then you have to use object type as DRAW. If you are archiving invoice document or letters or so on then you have to know the object type/Business object of the transaction.
Please note that for archivelink configuration, attachment will be either stored in archive server or in SAP database table based on business requirement.
Hope this will give you some understanding on archiving area.

Hi,
Before you create a query you have to assign a global request to Bex application.
To do this goto Transport connection of RSA1, In the tool bar you will see a icon Bex (Create transport request for Bex). Assign a request for it. After doin so, you error will be resolved.

Issue in BI Objects collection into Transport Request

I am experincing a Issue in collecting Infocube and related objects into a transport requests using transport connection.
My Scenario is as explained below
1.Migrated 3.x Dataflow into BI 7.0 Dataflow
2.Dataflow consists Infocube -->DSO (two separate DSO) --> Infosource (only 1) --> Datasource (from 2 different Source systems)
I have manually captured all my objects into a transport requests. i.e while activation.
The issue is when I try to use transport connection on this infocube with "Dataflow before" & Automatic collection options.
I am getting the below mentioned error.
Object '4C3C4WGBCRK9UWKNDGGYNKDNA' (ROUT) of type 'Routine' is not available in version 'A'

Diagnosis
You wanted to generate an object with the name '4C3C4WGBCRK9UWKNDGGYNKDNA' (in transport request ROUT) of type 'Routine' (TLOGO). This is, however, not available in the BW Repository database. It does not exist in the requested version A. If the version is 'D' then it is possible that an error arose during the delivery or installation. If the version is 'A' then the Object was either not created or not activated.

The object was not taken into account in the next stage of processing.
I am sure that all my objects are collected into transport requests & I checked the object entry of all the dataflow objects..

In that case, pls ignore my prevoius post...
The issue is when I try to use transport connection on this infocube with "Dataflow before" & Automatic collection options.
With this option, system should have collected the related routines. Did u expand routine node, and check (ON) the check box for that routine ???
(Once all objects got collected, now from the right most window, expand each node (application, infoarea, routines etc) and put checkbox 'ON' (checked) to ONLY the objects (routine 4C3C4WGBCRK9UWKNDGGYNKDNA' ) u want to transport. Once u r done with that, click on Transport (truck Icon) and enter package name, if system prompts.)

Including objects in a transporte request

Dear Gurus,
I have two questions:
1) I tried to include objects manually in a transport request because I had to delete them from another request where they did not belong. I copied in a notepad the Program Id, Object Type and Object name in order to use thes values in a new request created for this purpose. But when I went to the new task and put the Program ID, Object Type and Object Name and pressed 'Enter', the line recently filled with these values disappears. I have not found a way to register the required object in this way.
2) Then I tried to do the following thing: I went to the customizing (formulas and requirements) and modified the corresponding objects in order to trigger a suggestion of a new Transport Request. I saved my changes in the new requets. Then I went to SE10 in order to check the request task, but I found that the program Id and Object Type are totally different to what I have copied in the notepad before deleting object from task... Is this ok, or did I do something wrong?

You can try this.
Use a different userid and try to save the same object in the system. I hope it should ask for the transport request and the task wll be of REPAIR type.

2. Transport management system(TMS)
The Change and Transport Organizer (CTO) provides functions for organizing software development projects. It is designed to support projects of all sizes, whether they are carried out centrally or in a distributed environment.
The Transport Management System (TMS) organizes, monitors, and performs transports for allR/3 Systems within a system landscape. In addition, TMS is used to configure and manage the setting up of R/3 Systems and transport routes within a system landscape.
The Transport Management System (Transaction STMS) enables you to:
1. Define an R/3 System's role within a system landscape or transport domain
2. Configure the transport routes using either a graphical editor or hierarchical editor
3. Configure the transport tool transport control program tp.
4. Display the import queues of all R/3 Systems in the transport domain
5.Decide whether the quality assurance testing was successful in the QA System
6.Start the import of change requests in an import queue
The transports request can be of two types :
1. Customizing
2. Workbench
Customizing adapts the R/3 software to meet a company's individual business requirements by setting up the business transactions the company requires in R/3. Most Customizing is client-specific and affects only a particular client.
Workbench - Development changes are saved to Workbench change requests. Workbench change requests concern changes to R/3 Repository objects, such as ABAP programs, screens, data dictionary objects and global documentation.
To access the Workbench Organizer, use Transaction SE09

Create a new transport request for note 898614

Hello,
I want to set up the service desk function in the solution manager 4.0.
In the IMG I'm pointed to note 898614. Here the settings are described but not clear anough for me.
Here are the first two steps:
1) In transaction SCPR20, activate the following BC set:
SOLMAN40_SDESK_BASICFUNC_000. Activate this in expert mode with the option "Overwrite everythng".
2) Create a new transport request (transaction SE09) in the source client (000) of your Solution Manager system. Unpack the file Piecelist_Service_Desk_Init.zip from the attachment to this note. Copy the contents of the file Piecelist_Service_Desk_Initial.txt to the transport request. Use transaction SCC1 to import the transport
request to your Solution Manager client.
Unpack the BC sets contained in the file SOLMAN40_SDESK_SP04.ZIP.
In transaction SCPR20, activate the BC sets. The BC sets contain additional actions.
Activation must take place in expert mode using the option "Overwrite everythng".
Then, implement Note 931196 if necessary.
My question is how do I create a new transport request and how do I import the file Piecelist_Service_Desk_Initial.txt in to this request.?
If I press the button create in tr-se09 I could choose between 6 differend transports. Which wan do I have to choose?
And how to import the Piecelist_Service_Desk_Initial.txt file.

Hi,
go to SE09 in Client 000 and create a transport request of type workbench. You may use copy&paste from piecelist text file to add objects to your transport request.
Logon to your production client where you want to use Service Desk functionality and import that transport using transaction SCC1.

Writing objects to a transport request

I generate structures and table types in an ABAP Program and I want to record these objects to a transport request. I use the function modules 'TR_OBJECTS_CHECK' and 'TR_OBJECTS_INSERT' to write the objects to a transport request, but in this case, for each object the dialog for entering the package name and transport request is shown. I want that all objects are saved in the same package and transport requests. Is there another function module by which I can record all generated objects in a transport request after the request and package number is asked only once?
