Objects required for transport operations

Hello,
I am preparing to upgrade and migrate databases from 10g on AIX to 12c on OEL6. I found a great doc that details the use of Transportable Tablespaces for metadata movement and RMAN for the migration of the datafiles from big endian to little endian. The doc is 371556.1. The only thing that is unclear to me in that doc is bullet 2 in the Goal section. It states:
2.- Import objects required for transport operations from the source database into the destination database.
I'm not quite sure to which objects this is referring. It sounds like there are objects that are dependencies for transport operations, but again, not sure what those objects might be or what the operations are (e.g. using exp or data pump in tablespace mode?)
Or perhaps it's referring to objects that aren't typically transportable/exported in tablespace mode, such as synonyms?
With the exception of that one bullet point, the doc makes perfect sense. If anyone has any clarification on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

During the export, a packaged binary file is created in a directory defined on the repository server (or directory server). To import this file to another Integration Repository (or Integration Directory), you must manually copy it to an import directory (see below). You require the appropriate authorizations to be able to access directories on the SAP Web Application Server.

Bi content objects collection for transport

Hi Experts,
may i know how can i colloect the technical contnet objects for transport?
basically i already transport a technical content content request to quality, after transporting i got the logs as some of the technical content objects have not been activated in quality, but i thougt i can directly activate the content objects by using the program RSDG_IOBJ_ACTIVATE and remaing programs for cubes,aggregates,data sources and all in quality sytem, but client dont want the mannuall activation in qulaity system, they are askig again i have to transport the active(which are the objects not in active version in quality) version from EST to ESQ and then re-import my main transport.
so now again i have to activate the objects in develpment, may i know if i activate the program RSDG_IOBJ_ACTIVATE in se38 and transport the request to quality is it ok (here have to create a new request for this?) here in asingle request can i activate all objects which are not activated (i have to go for activation to info objects, cubes, data sources, update rules,transfer structures) is there any sequence steps to collect this object, please provide me

Activate all the necessary objects and collect them in a single request and check for any inconsistencies or inactive objects in the requests before transporting it to the QA or PRD in SE03.

Auth objects required for creating super,power,end user roles

Hi ,
I need to create 3 roles according to the below requirement. can you tell me what auth objects req inorder to fulfill customer requirement.
1.     Super User:
     Have the access to Create/Modify/Delete own queries
     Can create Variables, CKF, Structures, Formulas & RKF at the cube level (global)
2.     Power User :
     Have the access to Create/Modify/Delete own queries
     Can create Structures, Formulas at the query level
3.     End User
     Have the access to run and navigate reports at the local level

Few things you have to keep in mind when you are giving access to the reports and queries.
S_RS_COMP only will not do.
have you assigned S_RS_COMP1 and S_RS_MPRO for info areas and multi/info providers.
and one more auth object S_RS_ICUBE for info cubes. you have to assign what ever the info cubes that you need to give access to the users.
Then only user will get full access.
precisely in order you can say,
S_RS_COMP
S_RS_COMP1
S_RS_ICUBE
and S_RS_MPRO.
These are main auth objects which are related to info cube, info area access and BEx access.
Hope this would give you clear pic.

Roles required for BPM operation

Hi Everyone,
Any idea what roles are required for the user used in receiver SOAP channel for accessing NWBPMs deployed on Java AS(Marked in Red)?
I have already tried below :

With these roles it doesn’t work. I consistently get 403 forbidden error i.e. not sufficient authorization.
Even tried roles like : SAP_BPM_SuperAdmin, SAP_BPM_TRIGGER_EVENT but same result.
Only with full admin rights it works. Appreciate some inputs incase anybody has worked on this?

How to get objects necessary for transporting Business Content?

Hi Experts,
Small ques for u:
I have installed 0FIAA_C11, 0FIAA_C12, 0FIAA_C13 for Asset Accounting in Dev system. Already the previous content 0FIAA_C04 was installed and transported to Quality system.
Now I want to transport new content (0FIAA_C11, 0FIAA_C12, 0FIAA_C13) to Quality. But I guess since already some infoobjects were transported to quality, transport connection wud nt show me all necesary objects.
So how to get a list of all objects necessary so that my req does nt fail while moving to production from quality.(I think req might not fail while goin from Dev ->quality).

I have already applied "Before setting". But the problem is I dont want to transport objects which are not relevant to me, but only those which are necessary for content described in previous mail.
If we check the link provide by you " For activating an InfoSource, InfoObjects may also be necessary which are not contained in the InfoCube and have therefore not yet been collected. However, for these additional objects, the objects that come before them in the data flow are not collected.
" I am worried by about these.Some objects will be missing and some are in addition which are not all required, and we shud nt transport them.How to be sure tht transport will not fail and it is consistent as well?

On the other hand, assuming your program will run in a properly maintained SAP installation, I would always use standard authorisation objects as much as possible. Try finding a standard SAP report with similar selections and output and see how it is done there. Trace the execution via ST01 and see which objects are being checked.
Also use the repository infosystem to browse the available standard objects. Talk to a functional and/or security expert to clarify your requirement regarding necessary authorization checks.

CO Object required for one G/L in billing even though COPA config exists

I am facing error where for one particular cost element CO object error is appearing (KI235). we have configured PA structure, OKB9 as well as SD condition type to COPA value field assignment for said G/L and condition type.
still system is showing this error.

check the billing doc. account assignment and if the object assigned is not statistical (internal order).

Transport operating concern

Hi experts,
We have a question about transporting a new operating concern.
To transport customizing settings of the new operating concern we used Tcode KE3I.
We defined new characteristics and value fields for the new operating concern.
In the customizing request we can see that for the tables TKEF and TKEFD all entries (old and new) were included.
But all old fields already exists in the target system of the transport request.
Should we keep the old fields (existing characteristics and value fields) in the customizing request or should we delete them and leave only the new ones ????

Hi,
For transporting Operating Concern please use transaction code KE3I. You need to create a manual transport request. Many of the CO-PA requests can be included in transport request from this transaction. While incorporating the characterstics and value fields excercise caution and check the transport request regarding the objects included.
There is also an OSS note on CO-PA transports. You can check the same.

Only display and assign function for transport request

Hi,
I have a requirement for transport creation. I need to set a restriction on transport creation.the requirements are as per below :
Group A : Allow to create a transport request - both workbench & customize request.
Group B : Allow to assign transport request to the one create by Group A. This group is not allowed to create any request be it
workbece or customize.
I found an object - S_TRANSPRT. I have create a role and assign only activity DISPLAY & ASSIGN to group B. However, group B can still create customize request. Is there any other objects that I have to restrict.

You can take system trace(ST01) and find out what are the objects and the field values you need to restrict.

Get objects(?) for program.

Hi Team ABAP,
When i activate a program, or a condition or whatever where coding is involved, a Syntax check is done.
And i get told that e.G. i have called a form routine which isnt present in system, or that some local variable is declared twice.
So the other program that does these checks must have some list of objects which are beeing checked for existance, same interface and so on.
I´d need to use exactly this functionality.
What is my plan?
Well we have a report which checks Transport requests, if they can be transported or we have some overtaker problem or whatever.
To "complete" this tool i would like to check in the destination systems if all objects involved in transport are present.
I mean if i have a program that calls a function module in its coding, i want to check in destination system if the function module is present for the case we dont have it in the same transport request.
If it isnt present i will get a returncode not equal 0 when the imported source is generated. To avoid such i want to check it in advance (BEFORE TRANSPORTING).
It´s just that i dont really have an idea how to get started...

The result screen is more friendly, with ALVs instead of almost unreadable lists.
Note that the tool cannot do miracles, but it may help a lot if you experience many transport errors, and if your transport procedure takes time and resources.
One of the most useful additions could be to list objects required by transported objects, that are being maintained, so that to detect many potential errors.
Tell me if it corresponds to what you expected, we may work together to enhance it if you want.

Authorization Object required to run VL01N

Dear All,
Recently we were asked to assign VL01n T-code to a user. We have created a role and added the t-code and assigned to the user.By default there is only one auth. object comes with the tcode ie:(V_LIKP_VST) at the time when we have assigned the t-code to the user.
The user come back saying authobject missing with su53 screenshot showing the requirement of the auth. object (M_MSEG_BWA) . We added this auth. object to the role but user is still facing auth issue (auth object missing).
Now how we can understand what are the necessary authorisation object required for the t-code VL01N to run and support the std.scenarios. We have checked through su24 and found the auth. object required, but as a basis person i feel that adding all the auth object through su24 is not the correct option and its a tedious job to do also . Is there anyother workaround for this or how we can do this.

1. In su24 of VL01N I can see around 43 authorisation object .
a). Is it required to add all the 43 auth. object to my role inorder to work all the scenario of the VL01N tcode ? or not or any other way out?
