OBN - links

Hi Gurus,
We are implementing FPN. We have are forced to replace the internal navigation links with object based navigation since links from the producer don't work.
I created a operation on the exisitng pdk business object and assiged to an iView. When the url
irj/portal?NavigationTarget=OBN://BOTechnicalName=pdk/Test/Operation=TestOBN
where Business Object Name = Test
Opertaion: TestOBN
Operation Id: TestOBN
But the above URL does not load target iView, I just get a page not found error.
Any help would be suitablly rewarded.

  • POWL OBN links do not open a pop up window in one domain

    Hi
I am hoping to get some helpful information on a problem with a POWL OBN links not opening a pop-up only in one domain. The issue is described below.
We have deployed the BP for Buyer 1.0, SP15. One of the iViews we use is the My Purchasing Documents and we have enabled the query POWL_PR_MY. Our Portal Version is 7.0 SP21, ECC6 (no EHP).
Query POWL_PR_MY (My Purchase Requisitions) of POWL Application OPS-BUYER-POWL-PURDOC has links with the Purchase Requisition Number. Ideally when the links are clicked on, it should open up the Purchase Requisition transaction with the details of the item. This does not happen in our case.
Our Portal Server is on the domain main.nex.com, but is accessed from the domain drs.nex.com. The ECC is also on the main.nex.com domain.
When we access this application using "portal.main.nex.com", the links work fine as they should. But when we access the application using "portal.drs.nex.com", they do not open at all. There is no error message displayed. It just simply does not do anything.
We have added *.main.nex.com to our local intranet trusted sites and have enabled pop-ups, added the proxy exception
*.main.nex.com. All the Pop-ups are working from the other Custom Webdynpro application and from the other SAP GUI for HTML transactions in the portal from domain "drs.nex.com".
I am not sure what the problem is, but we are facing a problem ONLY with this application's links. I am not able to see anything in the nwa logs too.
Any pointers as to where I can look for issues?
    Thanks
    OJ

    Hi Malte
No luck yet - so we are currently using portal.main.nex.com to access our portal until we find a solution. Will keep you posted. In the meanwhile, if you do find some information, please update.
    Thanks

  • NWBC OBN - Link Source and Target applications

I have a source Webdynpro Search application and a Target WebDynpro Display application.
How do i link these so that the selected record can be displayed in the display application>
Is it possible to link these using PFCG so that they can open in NW Business Client - so that the user can navigate from one to the other application (OBN conccept)

There is a guide in the online help for using OBN within NWBC that is pretty useful:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/44/dc652c10d356b4e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm
This shows how to define the business object,  setup the role, map the parameters and little on how to call from WDA.  From the WDA side, we also have details on the Portal APIs that are used to call the OBN:

  • Logoff link in standard OBN iView

    Dear all,
User is complaining because when they open an OBN link they receive in their mail, there is no logoff button, so their login is stored in cookies and if they open a new IE window, the login details from the OBN iview are taken.
Is there a way to open the OBN iView with a Portal Masthead on top so the users can logoff when they are done with the iView?

  • Appraisal Document Error in ERP6 EHP6 and Portal 7.3

    Dear All,
I am on ECC6 EHP6 and Portal 7.3 and using WDA ESS and MSS business packages. I have gone through all the below notes:
1600380 - Appraisal Document does not open in portal
    1468466 Performance Management Launchpad Configuration
    1463821 Performance Management Portal Configuration
1416756 OBN Configuration in Performance Management
    1408243 Configuration for object-based navigation
But since I an using Webdynpro ABAP package for ESS I dont have the below path in Portal:
    portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.14.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.14.pages/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.14.career_job
I am getting the attached error while accessing Appraisal Document in Portal. Also when checked in SE80 its giving the same error.
    Kindly help.
    Thank you,
    Regards,
    Disha.

    Hello disha,
This issue (Error in Calling Up Application) is a common issue and SAP Note 1600380 was created to address this.
    1) Keep in mind your custom environment, please pay attention to the following comment in the Note:
"Note: this document has been created based on standard ESS and MSS roles. If you have copied the standard content to customer specific roles you will have to adapt them accordingly."
    2) Remember to test each role independently, this is because OBN will resolve with the first available navigation found:
"Recommendations: in order to set up the navigation it is better that  you first solve it independently for each role. So first just assign the ESS role to your user and Content Administration role. Once it is working, proceed with MSS role (in that case remove ESS role and
      assign MSS plus Content Admin)."
    3) After checking all the customizing, please pay special attention to the "further checks" section:
       3.1)
"Check note 1352104 - OBN action's Business Parameters don't  reach AI' is implemented. This note corrects an issue with parameters not correctly passed in POST."
In order to check this, go through your ComponentInfo Page and check  the version of your EP-PSERV component. For instance:
    EP-PSERV  7.01 SP3 (1000.7.01.3.1.20090302142421)
This is the patch level:        ^
So, in this case you would have:
    EP-PSERV: 7.01
    SP: 3
    Patch level: 1
The problem for the non-working OBN link, could be a mixed protoco between the portal and the WDA backend system (WebAs). The Object Based Navigation framework, among other things, is based on Java Script, hence it needs that the portal and backend will have the same protocol and the same domain. Please check note 945516 -  Web Dynpro ABA in a portal environment.

  • NWBC 4.0 : pinning tabs language dependent

    Dear experts,
I had some strange reaction when pinning tabs, being logged into SAP with different languages.
Whatever the language I log with in with to NWBC 4.0 PL13, the tabs I pinned stay in the language I was logged in when creating them.
I pinned a tab when being logged in English, another when in French.
When afterwards connected to SAP in Dutch, the pinned tabs showed all screens and additional tabs opened via OBN links in French or English.
Only the newly opened sessions are in Dutch (the login language).
    Any solutions ?
    Thanks,
    Dirk

    Dear Dirk,

  • LinkToURL Object Examples

Does anyone have any links to help/examples regarding using the LinkToURL Object inside a Table Object?
What I'm trying to do is a Master-Detail kind of thing where I have two IViews: One containing a set of web controls that determine search criteria, and a Table (with which to display the results).  One of the columns of this table should be a <u>link</u> that navigates to the second IView whose sole content is a Table that displays details about the record whose <u>link</u> was clicked.
I'm currently looking at ways to do this, and (so far) haven't found any help on these forums.
    A.  Is this possible?
    B.  If so, is it possible using the LinkToURL object (as one of the columns in my table)?
    C.  Will EPCM help me instead or will OBN help me with solving this problem?

    Hi Joseph,
What you are describing sounds very much like a UI Pattern. In this Master-Detail Pattern, SAP usually recommends that all Master-Detail is in one place, where the "detail" table is sometimes hidden (on the same iView) until the link is clicked. This helps user orientation and familiarity with his options.
But to your question - You actually have several ways to implement your desired behavior:
OBN is one, which is I'd say is "standard" (but a bit of a over-kill in this case). Assign your “detail” iView as a target of the operation, and use an OBN link in the table. You can see samples and more details in the PDK documentation.
A more simple option would be to use EPCM.DoNavigate JS function, which you can call from a "LinkToUrl" control, or a button, or whatever you like. You can read about in the portal guides (see: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/26/71c74030308431e10000000a1550b0/content.htm)
One more option, is to sperate the Master-Detail into 2 iViews, as you asked, and again not to do navigation, but to put both iViews on the same page, and use EPCM (subscribe and Raise) events for client side communication, or use server side events communication to pass the data between both iViews. On both you can read in the PDK documentation.
I'm sure there are also other ways to do this...

    Ofer

  • Linking of SRM OBN with Custom SRM POWL WDA application

    Hi All,
We have our Producer portal with version 7.0 sp14 and Consumer with version 7.4 sp05.
We have "Check Status" a SRM Standard POWL application integrated in portal and all the Navigation OBNs are working fine with it.
our ABAP team developed a custom POWL application only for Buyers to show the shopping carts.
We have successfully integrated the POWL application in SRM portal.
we have added the iView to Role and added the navigation folder with all BO objects for OBN.
however when we assign the role to user, we are getting Portal Runtime Error.
Please help us on how to link OBN Business Objects with Custom POWL application.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Vijay.

    Hi Vijay,
Your portal versions are not compatible. Please check note 1295662 - 'Interoperability between 2 portals in FPN environment' where you will see that in order to setup a federation between a 7.4 portal and 7.00, the 7.00 system must be on at least SP25.

  • How to define Side Panels for linked to Child Window Applications

We are trying to use the NWBC Side Panel with PPM 6.0 in NWBC 3.5.  We have a Role that has a menu defined that gives the users a link to the INM_WORKCENTER_APP which displays the current user's Tasks in a table.
When we click on a task in the table it opens the task details using the CPROJECTS_FPM application in a new window.  This new window that opens up doesn't have any of the Side Panels that we have defined on the role with the main menu links.
We have tried to add the side panel using different application alias and at different levels in the Role, but can't get a Side Panel to show up on the child window.  We even tried to switch the window to open INPLACE in the main window and it still switches to no side panels.  The only side panels we are able to see is side panels that the user has manually added under connections and the Data Context Viewer side panels.
Is NWBC capable of having side panels to be defined to be available for these linked to child applications that are called from a main application screen?  If so, what is the possible configurations we need to make on the role for this to work properly?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Wanted to close this thread with the solution that worked for us.
We had to change the Launchpad configuration for Role CPROJECTS Instance OIF.  We changed the Application from a Web Dynpro ABAP type to Object Based Navigation.  Set the Application Parameters Business Object to PROJECT and Operation to DISPLAY.
Then for our role defined in PFGC for our NWBC, we added a new menu item to the Web Dynpro application CPROJECTS_FPM with Configuration CPROJECTS_FPM.  Then under Object Based Navigation we set the Object Type to PROJECT and Method to DISPLAY to match what we set above in the Launchpad.  Then set the menu item to be invisible since we didn't want it to show to users.
Now when we launch the child window it uses OBN and sees the definition in our role and utilizes the same Side Panel definitions defined for the role.

  • URL links for Workflow Approval Email per user & others

Hi all, we have upgraded to SRM7 and understand that we have to switch to using program /SAPSRM/OFFLINEAPPROVALSEND to generate the workflow notification emails. We have maintained the portal information in the SRM configuration to build the link. However, we have 2 issues here
    1. We currently output collective email so emails are sent out at specific timing on a per user rather than per work item basis. The URL link does not seem to work in this case (for shopping cart approval example) and we get an object GUID error. The URL looks something like this
    http://sap-ped.dev.xyz.com/irj/portal/?navigationtarget=obn://BOSystemAlias=SAP_SRM/BOTechnicalName=sc/Operation=detailprof&NavMode=3
Also, even if I run the program for a PO approval example, the BOTechnicalName is still pointing to sc.
However, if I do it on a per work item basis, the URL works.
Does anyone know where the control this setting?
    2. External and internal portal
We have some users connecting to the portal through more secured channel (external portal). In this case, I couldn't find a way to generate the appropriate URL for the external. In the past in the older SRM version, the program was using the attribute ITS_DEST in PPOPMA_BBP to build the URL link. Now, I do not know how the system knows which portal URL to take if the control is no longer at user level.
Has anyone ever had this requirement before?
My worse case scenario to resolve the above issues would be to use the BADI to alter the content of the email notification. The purpose of posting this message here is to ensure that I am not missing out any standard SAP functionality which could meet our requirements.
    Cheers!
    SF

  • Session retention with Java WD and OBN navigation

    Hi everybody,
We have a Java WD application integrated into Business byDesign Portal. From this application we start OBN navigation in the same window. OBN navigation  always starts a new session with ABAP back-end. Is it possible to retain the same back-end session between Java WD and launched OBN navigation? What should be done for it?
Thank you for yor help and kind regards,

is it something that you want to debug at runtime and find out those values?

  • Position Profile Page Link Location from Organisational Overview

    Hi all,
In the organisational overview MSS page we have links from the Position Holder inner iView.  If the link to the position is clicked, it loads the position profile - but it uses the position profile oage located in standard content (as per the below link):
    http://<server address>/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES%3A%2F%2Fportal_content%2Fcom.sap.pct%2Fline_manager%2Fcom.sap.pct.erp.mss.bp_folder%2Fcom.sap.pct.erp.mss.pages%2Fcom.sap.pct.erp.mss.hcm%2Fcom.sap.pct.erp.mss.position_profile&WebDynproNamespace=sap.com/mss~ppro&WebDynproApplication=PositionProfileApp&DynamicParameter=sap.xss.popup%26sap.xss.menuhdr%3DSAPDEFAULT%26sap.xss.menusrv%3DMSS_OPRO_POSHOLDERS_TRGT_PPRO%26sap-epcm-guid%3D3CB76B26382863D7CE27ECFE78160E0B0C0C59637D21737B47C63BD9B01C53BA%26sap.xss.selectedObject%3Dsap.xss.sessionKey41&CurrentWindowId=WIDDefaultExternal1286460270340&NavMode=3
How is the destination Page changed so we can connect to standard content? Does it require FPM change, or is there another mechanism for determining it e.g. OBN, and if so, how can this be configured?
    Thanks in advance!
    David

    Thanks Siddharth!
From what I read, FPM applciations cover the internal iViews only (i.e. that wiki discusses the internal iViews).  What I am looking for is the outbound hook to an iView for another application (I guess this could be anything, but in this case it is the position profile).  However, I could understand how this is used.
As we don't have the SSA BP (yet) I would like to confirm this is the steps we would need to take?
    1. Is the information passed to the other link via the FPM application configuration like this?
    2. If not, how are those links generated?
    Thanks in advance,
    David
