Obsolete LIS DataSource

Hi All,
We are working on BW 3.5 Version. We are planning to install BI Content for Procurement. Even the in the SAP Library for Procurement http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/e9/62073c44564d59e10000000a114084/frameset.htm, they say that we have to Install LO (New) and LIS (Old) DataSource. Below are the List of Datasources:
LO:
2LIS_02_SCL
2LIS_02_SGR
2LIS_02_HDR
2LIS_02_ITM
LIS:
2LIS_02_S174
2LIS_02_S013
2LIS_02_S015
Do you recommend installation of Old LIS Datasources? Please suggest.

In the SAP Library, http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/e9/62073c44564d59e10000000a114084/frameset.htm, it shows that some InfoProviders are based on the old LIS DataSource.
0PUR_C02, 0PUR_C03 and 0SRV_C01 are the ones based on old DataSource 2LIS_02_S013, 2LIS_02_S015 and 2LIS_02_S174.
How should I install the above DataSources?

hi,
Follow the below steps.
1)Go to RSA6 and find the data source you need to enhance.--> Display
2)Double click on the Extract structure.
3)Now click on the append structure button to add the required field on to the existing structure.
4) add your required fields with ZZ appended to your field.
5) Save & Activate the append structure. Then go back and make sure you activate the extract structure also.
6) Now again go back to RSA6 and select your Data Source. But this time go to change Data Source to remove the hide option to the enhanced fields. By default theyll be in hide mode. If you dont remove the hide field then this field will not be seen in BW side.
7) Now go to SE38 to write the logic to populate the data into the enhanced field. Program name to write the logic is ZXRSAU01.
8) Check + Save + Activate.
9) Check in RSA3 if data is populated as per your requirement.
10) Replicate your Data Source.
11) Now go to Data Source/ Trans. Structure screen. Now you can see the enhanced field on the right hand side.
R/3 Side:
Follow the above steps and the enhancement will be RSAP0001:
1.     ZXRSAU01  Transaction Data
2.     ZXRSAU02  Master Data (ATTR).
3.     ZXRSAU03  Master Data (TEXT).
4.     ZXRSAU04  Hierarchies.

Lis datasources , INIT loads,

Hi,
i am working on BI7, and v are using some lis datasources like 2lis_02_s013 and
2lis_02_s017 , I want to do init load with data transfer option and after that create delta loads to be used in process chains, i am geeting errors saying that datasources is till updating in sources system for init load
please guide me in this regard,

Hi,
You can use the infopackage to create the init load on the datasource and transfer the data to PSA and from there you can transfer the data into data targets using DTPs either you can go with full update or you can load the deltas from here again.
Creating init loads, and then deltas is all done in the datasource tree where you create the infopackage to extract the data from the source system to BW system.

Hi experts,
I have to start a new MM implementation on a fresh installed SAP ECC and SAP BI 7.0 systems.
So I have to activate the LIS datasources on the ECC source , activate them and load delta data into BW.
Can you show me a document that tracks the differents steps to follow ?

Is it possible to automate the load of setup tables for LIS datasources?

Hello,
For LIS datasources, eg. 04 (shop floor control), once the production confirmation is done, we have to manually run the transaction OLI4BW to load the setup tables before extracting data to BW. Is there a way to automate the load of setup tables?

Relation between LIS datasources and Extract Structures

Roberto,
Your detailed information does make it very clear why the SAP creates 2 SnnBIW1, SnnnBIW2 tables, and a structure.
I have another question related to this process.
Once you create a datasource from the custom LIS structures, you can assign a Development class to that datasource.
But the automatically created 2 tables and the structure are local objects, and you cannot reassign them to other object. That is fine because when you export/import the transport, all the other objects are also transported.
But when we enhance the extract structures, it creates a structure ZASnnnBIWS which also HAS TO BE a local object. This creates a problem of how do we transport these changes?
I would appreciate your insight into this.

I check from LBWE maintenance structure column, and the fields are there on the left hand side for the selection criteria.
How would I check "..fields you have enhaced are ready to use...." from LBWE.
From RSA6, I would doubleclick on the LIS datasource, and I see no enhanced fields and therefore could not see if they are hidden.
"Did you check in LBWE if your strcutures have the fields ready to use?" How would I do this? Maybe this is the problem.

LIS EXTRACTION
T.code - :MC18 create field catalog
1. Characteristic Catalog
Application-01-Sales and Distribution, 02-Purchasing, 03-Inventory Controlling, etc..
Catalog category 1. Characteristic catalog, 2. Key figures catalog 3. Date catalog
Select characteristic catalog and enter, click on characteristic select the source table and it will be display the relevant source field and select the source field, copy + close, copy.
Save, similarly create key figures catalog
T.code : MC21 create infostructure
Example
Inforstructure : S789
Application 01
Choose characteristic select the catalog, select the fields, copy + close
Choose key figures catalog select the key figures ,copy + close, save and generate
T.code MC24 create updating
Infostructure : S789
Update group : 01- Sales document, delivery, billing document ,enter
Select the key figures click on rules for key figures give suggest rules, copy save and generate

T.code MC25, set update (V1) or (V2) or (V3)
T.code LBW0, choose generate updating and execute then choose activate / deactivate and execute
BW side - create infopackage and schedule the package with delta update.
First time if your scheduling the infopackage -in R/3 side T.code :MC25 -Udating set to No update,insted of selecting the update V1,V2,V3.
If your doing the Delta update:in R/3 side T.code :MC25-Updating set to either V1 or V2 or V3. and the to T.code :LBW0 -Select the radio button Active/deactivate and Execute.
and schedule the infopackage with delta update.

DataSources and extract structures generation

Hi,
How would I generate the DataSources and extract structures using transaction LBWE? It seems that there are no push buttons to say to generate the DataSources and extract structures from LBWE? Would clicking on the DataSources and extract structures and click on the continue button be enough?

Generate Datasource from Inf.Struc.S076

Hi All,
I need to create a datasource based on "LIS S076", I have tried to generate it from LBW0 but when i executed "Show Details" shows "The information structure cannot be used for SAP BW"
Which are the correct steps in order to use it?

LIS or LO datasources...?
For LO Datasource:
Before system
1. Run V3 job and push entire data from Delta Queue(LBWQ) to Update queue(RSA7)
2. down pull all delta into bw side(run infopackage atleast 2 times) till update queue is empty.
3. Stop V3 jobs.
Once system is up:
4. Check initialization is ok or not..?
5. If not initialize without datatransfer
6. Start V3 job as per schedule..
7. Continue deltas.

LIS Structure issue

Hi gurus,
I am using a standard LIS datasource, 2lis_01_s001 to load data to standard Customer Cube, 0SD_C01. In R/3 am getting 0 records in S001 table so am getting 0 records in RSA3 in turn. As it is a standard datasource and no enhancement has been done, am not able to understand why RSA3 and S001 areshowing 0 records.
Is there anyway that we can populate S001?

I think you dont have any data, Perform statistical Update using OL*BW transaction

Enhancing a transaction datasource!

Hi all,
Can anyone please tell me where I can find documentation on writing User exits/enhancing transaction datasources. Is the procedure for enhancing transaction datasource same for all extraction methods like LO-Cockpit, LIS, COPA, Generic Datasource and FISL or are they dependent on the extraction method.
I need to enhance LIS datasource and write code to populate value for couple of new fields.
I appreciate your help.

2LIS_03_BF - Inventory Management DataSource

Dear reader,
i scheduled LBWE for 2LIS_03_BF Datasource about 30 hrs ago and the job is till running on R3 side. the extraction was set from year 2006 july.
does it normally take this long. If not, what could be the problem. Shall i schedule it again, or it normally takes this long.
please advise and let me know if you need more information to find out the cause.

You're correct...I did mean LBWG. I was typing too fast and got my LBW* tcodes all mixed up.
You would use the LO Cockpit (LBWE) for scheduling the V3, or other delta job, anytime after you have done an init InfoPackage in your BW environment. This job will fill the delta queue table for the extractor. The delta queue table differs from the setup table, therefore you can schedule this job while the OLI*BW setups are executing.
OLI*BW tcodes execute initial setups of LIS DataSources, whereby it extracts everything into a setup table and this setup table is the source from which Full and Init w/ Data Transfer extract InfoPackages will pull data.
LBWE is the Logistics Cockpit, which is used for maintaining the LIS DataSource structures, activation of LIS DataSources and scheduling of Update (delta) jobs. The delta jobs fill the delta queue table, which you can view in RSA7, and is the source from which Delta extract InfoPackages will pull data.
