OC4J (9.0.3) with J2SE 1.4.1 (JDK) on Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 2.1

Does anyone have any experience configuring J2EE (OC4J & WebCache) with Enterprise Manager (EM) on Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 2.1 (RHEL)?
I have been able to follow the directions in section 3.4 of the release notes and get my app server running, but the EM website locks up when ever I try to connect with a browser.
Thanks,
David

  • GPIB-ENET/100 Issues with Red Hat Enterprise Linix 3.0

Does anyone know of issues with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0?
Using Red Hat Linux 8.0, I am able to run EthernetConfig and identify all the GPIB-ENET/100 devices on my Ethernet.
Running EthernetConfig under Enterprise Linux does not work properly. No devices are detected.
Everything else appears to be working.
    I can ping the device.
I can also detect the device using my Windows based program NI-488.2M for Windows NT/GPIB-ENET100 Utilities/Device Configuration.

I do not know of any issues with RHEL 3.0 and the Beta 488.2 driver. I believe that you have started a support request via e-mail so I will deal with your issue there.

  • "Could not start Agent" with SunMC 3.6.1 on Red Hat Enterprise release 4

    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to install the Linux agent from the SunMC 3.6.1 installation dvd on a RedHat system (kernel 2.6). The installation seems to go fine, but while seting up the agent I recieve the following eror:
/opt/SUNWsymon/base/sbin/xget: error while loading shared libraries: libxcfg.so.1.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
/opt/SUNWsymon/base/sbin/xput: error while loading shared libraries: libxcfg.so.1.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Have you set the xhost as ROOT (xhost +hostname), and then as the ORACLE user type "export DISPLAY:0.0" (without the quotes of course) ? This needs to be done prior to running the installer. Try this site for further information - http://www.puschitz.com/OracleOnLinux.shtml

  • Error Installing ERP2005 on Red Hat 4es Linux with Oracle

Normally I only install SAP for customers on Unix boxes or WIndows, but I was asked for a customer to do an installation on Red Hat 4es 64bit. It will be a Sandbox system for the customer. ERP2005 with Oracle.
But after some issues on shared objects when I wasn't able to start the sapinst, cause there was no JRE installed, but has been installed after this (version 1.4.2.13 for linux). I now run into the following issue when ./sapinst is running and me trying to start the ./startInstGui.sh I get the following :
java.lang.RuntimeException: invocation target exception: /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_13/lib/i386/libawt.so: libXp.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
both files are there, JAVA_HOME had been set, java had also been set as path, but when I do a file on the files it gives me:
    [root@su49tas1 lib64]# file libXp.so.6.2
libXp.so.6.2: ELF 64-bit LSB shared object, AMD x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), stripped
    [root@su49tas1 i386]# file libawt.so
libawt.so: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), stripped
looking at this there might be a conflict on version, but the libXp.so comes from the RH install cd and the libawt.so comes from the jre1.4.2.13-rpm.bin file downloaded from the java sun website.
strange thing is that I cannot find a 64bit version so that might bring down my thoughts on version conflict.
Hopefully someone had had this same issue also and had solved it, but also other input which might help me solve this is appreciated.
cause this is turning my head for a day and night
    cheers

I do have my java home set and paths and display, but still this issue comes up
at first I had installed the SUN java version 1.4.2.13 but that did not work as well (and was a 32bits version, no 64bits found there for linux) so I deinstalled that one and installed the IBM java 64bit version for linux.
Hopefully someone knows a sollution, cause it is getting me bold.

FAST ESP 5.3 - is the FAST Search API of ESP 5.3 compatable with OS: Red Hat 5.1 & JDK: 1.6 Update 81 ?

Per ESP SP 5 release , below OS are supported which should be compatible with API:
 Red Hat Enterprise Linux Release 5.8, 32-bit (and all 5.x minor versions below)
 Red Hat Enterprise Linux Release 5.8, 64-bit (and all 5.x minor versions below)
 Red Hat Enterprise Linux Release 6.3, 32-bit (and all 6.x minor versions below)
 Red Hat Enterprise Linux Release 6.3, 64-bit (and all 6.x minor versions below)
     SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 11, 64-bit
The latest JDK i have seen working on a customer install is  jdk1.6.0_45.
Probably you can try update 81 and see if you run into any issues.

  • Dual Boot Pre-Installed Windows 7 Computer with Enterprise linux

hello house, i have a system with pre-installed window7 and i want to load enterprise linux 5 as the second O.S,to have 2 operating systems on a Pc.how do i go about it?

First, carefully evaludate your motives for thinking dual-boot because just
install VirtualBox or VMWare to run OEL as a virtual guest requires little
    system reorganization.
However, if your laptop does not support virtualization then dual
boot is the way to go:
    1) Get KNOPPIX or SystemRepairDisk from the net. Or just any live
distribution that includes gparted, which is what Linux uses
    for a partition wizard.
    2) Use gparted to shrink your Win7 partition until you have
    enough room for OEL.
    3) Now, reboot using the OEL installation media.
    4) Be careful on the disk partitioning screen; you want to "use
available free space" and not the "use all of disk" or "delete
all partitions" choices. This is the critical step to get right
to keep your Win7 files from being deleted.
    5) Proceed with default OEL install.
    6) Install the GRUB bootloader to the MBR for the disk. GRUB will
then allow you to boot from either OEL or Win
    Take a break; you're done.

  • Oracle Unbreakable Enterprise Linux come with an ndiswrapper kernel module?

    Hello
Does Oracle Unbreakable Enterprise Linux come with an ndiswrapper kernel module?
Does Oracle Unbreakable Enterprise Linux come with a package for the ndiswrapper kernel module that matches the kernel version?
What wireless driver is compatible with Oracle Unbreakable Enterprise Linux?

    Hi,
Oracle Unbreakable Linux does not come with any ndiswrapper kernel module and any package for ndiswrapper module. But it includes many wireless network drivers. You can look at them from kernel package. For example
    rpm -qlp kernel-2.6.18-8.el5.i686.rpm |grep wireless
From the output, you can find which wireless drivers are coming with Oracle Unbreakable Linux kernel.

  • Open  Business Objects report with J2SE

Hi, How can I do to open a Business Objects report with J2SE aplicattion?
    Thanks,

Depending on the version of Crystal Reports / Business Objects you have, there are Java libraries you can use to connect to the Business Objects Application server. I spent a lot of time on BO's website figuring it out. In the end i only needed a few libraries to connect, and ask the server to print a report. I remember that there was a way to have the server send a pdf as a binary stream, that you could then save as a pdf file and read. You can do a lot more with the SDK, to the extent of creating your own report creation tool. If you would like some specifics, i might be able to find the some of the documentation i used. It all came from the BO website.

  • Trouble compiling servlets with J2SE 5

    Hello,
I've been using Sun 1 Studio CE, and more recently, Netbeans 3.6, with J2SE 1.4.2. I have some basic swing applets and servlets that I wrote for my business' web site.
I recently downloaded and installed the new software bundle containing Netbeans 4.0 and J2SE 1.5. When I try to compile my servlets, I get a compiler error that packages javax.servlet.* and javax.servlet.http.* do not exist.
I reinstalled J2SE 1.4.2 and Netbeans 3.6 and the servlets compile fine.
Why is JDK 5 not able to find these packages? My understanding is that they're part of the Java Servlet API, which I never explicitly downloaded previously. Is that the piece of the puzzle that I'm missing? Please help!
    Thanks

    Thanks for your response...
What is interesting is that I never explicitly installed the Servlet API. Out of curiosity, I searched my computer for servlet*.jar and came up with 13 files including:
    servlet-2.2.jar
    servlet-2.3.jar
    servlet-api-2.4.jar
These were located in subdirectories under Netbeans 3.6 and Tomcat 5.0.19. Therefore, I'm assuming that when I downloaded the JDK 1.4.2/Netbeans 3.6 bundle from the Java site, the Servlet API must have been part of the bundle.
    ****Let me check something...***
I've just done the same search for servlet*.jar on my test PC, which has the Netbeans 4.0/JDK 5 bundle installed. The same files exist, in the same locations(almost the same, anyway; the Tomcat and Netbeans 4 directory structures are a little different).
Both software bundles contain the same files, yet 1.4.2 compiles without any problems or additional configuration. In other words, I reinstalled the old 1.4.2/ Netbeans 3.6 bundle, took my existing source code, and started compiling.
Any ideas why the same isn't true for JDK 5/Netbeans 4? I know there are changes to the way Netbeans 4.0 deals with Class Paths, but I thought that was for the classes I've written. Shouldn't the compiler be able to find the servlet API, since it bundled/installed with everything else?
    Thanks

  • Tomcat with j2se 1.4 beta

does anyone know how i can run the install program for the tomcat 4.0 with j2se 1.4 beta 3 installed?
the tomcat installation wont run cause it says it cant find any jdk installed in my computer!
    any ideas?

Beuwolf, just uninstall j2se 1.4 beta as I have experienced the same problem with you. Just have your jdk1.3 install in ur computer. I have installed j2se 1.4 beta 3 but it seems doesn't work with tomcat 4.0.1. Have your jdk1.3 first before jdk1.4 does support tomcat 4.0 :)

Yes, we have already done that...using J2ME socket demo server and J2SE as the client. We have also tested it in vice-versa with J2ME socket demo as the client and J2SE as the server and they both worked pretty well. Note : both J2ME 2.0 and 2.1 also J2SE 1.4.2_04. We used the KToolBar and the SUN ONE Studio ME as our IDEs

  • Can JDBC3.0 code coexist with J2SE 1.4 ?

I am working on a large project that currently is deployed on J2SE 1.3.1.
One class implements java.sql.Connection and, as there are new methods
on the Connection interface in J2SE 1.4, this class
    won't compile with 1.4.
I can add the additional methods to MyConnection, but
there is no separate jdbc.jar for jdbc 3.0 which means
    I can't execute the modified class with J2SE 1.3.
    Am I missing something here?
Is there really no way the same code that implements java.sql.Connection can run in both 1.3 and 1.4?
    Peter Booth

The class is a customized connection that works with our own connection pool.
The problem is that to have the class compile with Java 1.4, I need to implement
new methods such as the following. The first method works
fine but the second depends upon the existence of
java.sql.SavePoint - which would require the Java 1.4
    JDBC classes.
I am sure I am not the only person encountering this.
Is there any reason why a JDBC 3 jar isn't available
    as a separate download?.
