OCA-1Z0-147-Help!

Hello,
Does anyone have practice questions for 1Z0-147 PL/SQL test (OCA) ? If you have, can you send me it to the following e-mail: [email protected] ! Does anyone who passed the exam know: Does questions from pdf-s files (Actualtests.com-The Power of Knowing) are same like questions on the exam?
Any help would be great!
thank you,
Zeljko

There are no restrictions. The only restriction you may face is if the 147 exam expires. There are currently no plans to retire this exam, but if you are not planning on taking the exam right away, you may just want to continue to check the website to ensure that the exam does not retire before you are ready to take it. We typically give approximately 3 months of notice for a retiring exam. There will be messaging on the exam page. However, as I mentioned above, there are currently no plans to retire this exam.

Hi! This is Agnit Chatterjee! I have completed the OCA 1Z0-007 exam a couple of days back and now looking forward to the preparation of the OCA 1Z0-147 exam. Wanted to know whether or not there is any time limit starting from the day of giving the first OCA exam within which I should give the second exam? I mean I have given the test on 27th of January,2011!!! Within which date should I gave the second exam or are there are no restrictions???

Uday0) Warning: Dont publish your Oracle Testing Id. or Prometric Id. on this website, it would be a breach of the NDA you have agreed to.
0.1) Register with certview.oracle.com ... it helps to know where you are at..
    1) Identify your Prometric Number that you took your prometric exam under.
    2) Identify your Oracle Testing Id. you have under Pearson VUE.
    3) If they are the same all is ok.
    4) If they are different full details of both will need to goto Pearson VUE requesting a merge. (I haven't recently checked the FAQs for updates on this procedure.
    5) Dont try to request a merge while you certview regsitration is in progress.

  • Help regarding  1z0-147

    Hi
could someone plz suggest a good book for 1z0-147 where I can get some test questions also?I need it at the earliest
    Thanks in advance

    Fair comment APC :-)
I guess I'm a bit old-school when it comes to people asking things here without bothering to prove that they've consulted the documentation and searched the fine world-wide-web for information, especially when they suffix their request with "I need it at the earliest".
Makes it sound rather like a demand to me rather than a request...
Amazon has book reviews and the Yahoo Group I mentioned also has opinions on various resources. But, yes, we're all very opinionated, so in that respect the OP has come to the right place :-)
As far as needing a certain basic level of expertise to winnow the results, I find that too many people lack ability to search for information and find their own answers. And I get the feeling that this problem -- despite advances in search engine technology and in the proliferations of resources on the net -- is getting worse, not better, and I attribute this to a 'get a quick answer' mentality.
It's not that I don't mind helping people, I'm just searching for the right way to help peope to help themselves.
    Cheers,
    Colin

  • Retirement of 9i DBA OCA and OCP and associated exams and also 1z0-147

This question hasnt been asked for a while, which I suppose means the numbers doing the followig exams must be diminishing:
    1z0-007, 1z0-031, 1z0-032, 1z0-033, 1z0-147
I think there is now a fairly good case for these to be retired, assume that WDP courses for them have ceased; though vouchers may still be in existance.
I particularly wold like to see 1z0-007 and 1z0-147 retired as the far better and more modern equivalent exam 1z0-051 and 1z0-144 exist. IMHO These could probably be done on the normal 3 months noice.
While I think 1z0-031 could be ceasd at relatively short notice, the case for 1z0-032 having a longer period would be more useful, as people could be part way into a 9i DBA OCP and unable to complete in the 3 months.
IMHO it would be best to withdraw 1z0-031 first, or to give an extended retirement date for 1z0-032 and 1z0-033 of at least 6 months.
I guess of all these I would like 1z0-007 and 1z0-147 to be retired. IMHO They should have been put to grass long ago.

Thanks for your comments on these exams. We are actually currently in the middle of a project to evaluate a number of exams to see which ones need to be identified for upcoming retirement. I will pass your comments along to the team conducting this review.
    Thanks,

  • Retirement of 1z0-007 1z0-147 1z0-031 1z0-032 1z0-033 exams .....

    The retirement of 1z0-007 1z0-147 1z0-031 1z0-032 1z0-033 must surely be imminent .
I think WDP should have stopped teaching them a while ago.
For 1z0-007 and 1z0-147 suitable and IMHO better alternatives exist in 1z0-051 and 1z0-144. People are not exposed to best practice studying for those older exams.
IMHO There is no real reason why 1z0-007 and 1z0-147 could not be set for retirement immediately ... (ie in 3 months time) and any candidates studying should find litle gap in studying for the alternatives.
1z0-031 for 9i DBA OCA and then 1z0-032 + 1z0-033 for 9i DBA OCP it is a different matter .... essentially because of the number of exams in the track and the fact mandatory training is required to complete the track. And from once all those exams are withdrawn any undertaken will not be valid for a later Oracle Database version, 10g or 11g or 12c ( and it would set an (IMHO bad) precedent for earlier version training to be allowed for a later version).
In some ways those trained on these should already have had sufficient time to certify ... and in many ways a majority (but perhaps not all) of those caught out perhaps deserve little sympathy .... But anyone caught out after having passed 1z0-007 + 1z0-031 + 1z0-032 but not 1z0-033 would feel aggrieved by having to do more training plus take 1z0-0[45]2 and 1z0-0[45]3 to get DBA OCP.
And retiring 1z0-031; 1z0-032; and 1z0-033 simultaneously with 3 months notice could leave people stuck on track and this could be branded as 'unfair'. (And I assume these exams will need to be retired when Database 12c finally goes production).
Can I therefore suggest the following may allow people avoid people getting stuck on track:
    0) Retirement of 1z0-007 and 1z0-147 immediately (well 3 months notice) .... this gives the word out to candidates of this era that the exams of this era are being removed.
    1) An effective 6 month notice of retirement of 1z0-032 and 1z0-033:
    This could be achieved by:
1a) A 6 month (or even end of year) simulaneous announcement of retirement of 1z0-031/2/3.
1b) A three month notification of retirement of 1z0-031 ... this would stop people entering the 9i DBA OCP exam track ... but not retiring 1z0-032 and 1z0-033 for at least a further 3 months after that date.
Thinking as I write this an annoucement to retire:
    1z0-007, 1z0-147, 1z0-031 on 31st may 2013 then 1z0-032,1z0-033 at the end of october/november/december 2013 would be perhaps helpful.
This is prompted by {thread:id=2492717} indicating there are still people midway through the 9i DBA OCP track who may be caught by its retirement. One may argue they if they wish to be OCP
Readers should note I am nore authorative on these matters, and the certification team are unlikely to announce a retirement before it happens, so I would not expect them to be able to comment on this until an annoucement for retirement is actually made (apart from we review exams for retirement regularly), but I do feel they listen to such comments and take them into account.

As {thread:id=2511529} a retirement announcement has been made at https://blogs.oracle.com/certification/entry/0864_01
Some people have already commnets on how 1z0-147 and 1z0-141 are affected, though as 1z0-144 and 1z0-151 are available with a high topic correlation there really isn't too big a deal on these.
The retirement of the 10g OAS exams probably essentially now has little impact as this is an end of life production replacing with weblogic.
The big impact could be a number of people on the 9i DBA OCP certification who will find their existing training invalidated unless they complete 9i DBA OCP before requirement; and if they fail to do that they will need to pay more to retrain to complete DBA OCP. I am expecting some squeals in this area from people who have dallied ... though arguably in most (but not all cases) there may be little reason to be overly sympathetic with their dalliance. This thread post, and others I have made previously, was a warning.

  • Is 1z0-147 got change?

Is 1z0-147 (Oracle 9i program with PL/SQL) got any change after the exam center under taken by Person VUE...????

Alredy i have passed 1z0-007,now im going to do 1z0-147 for OCA certification.that is a good and proper way of doing things.
I am concerned that you were worried on your WDP course you were give a load of sample questions and answers and are worried these have changed. If you are worried about such a set of questions and answers then please forward to [email protected] with your contact details and details of time and date of your course and they can sort it all out for you.
However I have said I will check topics for changes with best possible dilligence. And I have and I confirm with a dillegent eyeball check of all just under one exams topics they have not changed in the last 8 months (neither has the pass score); quite frankly if the topics had changed Oracle and other Certification exam setting bodies usually indicate this.

  • Pre-requisite for exam 1Z0-147?

    Hello,
I am planning on getting the Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate. I am not sure on which exam I should take prior to the 1Z0-147.
Which one is best: 1Z0-007 or 1Z0-001?
    Thanks for your help,
    Patricia.

I suggest to take 1Z0-007. Although 1Z0-001 covered both SQL and PL/SQL, but taking 1Z0-007 will help you to learn and improve the basic requirement to know PL/SQL which is SQL. I'm also planning to take the PL/SQL Developer OCA I realized to give a separate concentration in on SQL and PL/SQL. Once you finished 1Z0-007, you can feel confident that you know most of the SQL concepts. And now you can focused on improving your skills in PL/SQL by preparing for 1Z0-147.
I hope it helps you in deciding which exam to take prior to 1Z0-147.

  • Exam 1z0-147 - Autonomous transactions in triggers

    hi all,
I am taking my 1z0-147 exam soon and I would like to know if anyone can help me out with this dilema.
all the practice material I have used states that transactional statements such as COMMIT cannot be performed inside a trigger. However this is not completely true as you can perform commits and other ddl etc inside a trigger if you declare it as an autonomous transaction...
I would like to know if anyone can reccommend which approach I should take for answering the real exam questions. which answer is right? Can I perform a commit inside a trigger or not?
    Thanks in advance!

SteveIts probably bad practice to ask questions on certification related questions here, and your question might fail a strict interpretation of the Non-disclosure agreement.
You should probably try to get a response from the source of your legitimately obtained authorized practice questions:
This also means I best not comment directly on this, especially as I have taken 1z0-147
And Its why I've censored my quoting of your response
The key thing is to remember that the answer required is best answer from information gained in the question (and an excepton not on syllabus in unlikely to contribute to best answer ... but thats a judgement call).
If you really feel an ambiguity during the exam I think a comment button is present and you may care to use it ... but of course this loses time ... and probably will you you more than you gain. You could then possilby argue a borderline fail, but if your borderline anyway then probably the best to reasonably hope for would be a free retake, so barely worth the candle.
    I think most exams try to weed out ambiguous questions, however I recall not being best happy with certain answers I saw from an authorized source material I used for this exam. In fact I think 1z0-147 is a rehash on 1z0-101. In fact I take a right scunner to 1z0-147 and am pleased to see the arrival of 1z0-144 .... Though I half wonder if there's been more interest in 1z0-147 since 1z0-144 arrived :-;

hi my name is Tarun Bharti
currently i am doing oracle pl/sql developer certified associate.i had clear the 1z0-007 exam now for the next step i have to clear one of the exam 1z0-144 or 1z0-147.
    which one i should choose
    help me guys

I've gotten all of my certificates within just a 2-3 weeks, but I'm in the US and they can send via US Postal service. If you are overseas, it will take longer simply because of the method required to ship the certificate. Some people complain they don't get theirs for upwards of eight weeks. However, from all that I've see on this board, that normally boils down to Oracle having the wrong shipping address for them. Verify that your testing center has the correct address from the beginning and you you should avoid this.
If you end up taking multiple exams, make sure that all of them use the same candidate ID. This is important -- don't create multiple candidate IDs or you will regret it sooner or later. Possibly sooner and later.

I am an OCP. I have completed my exams. But at times I feel too dumb. So OCP will not help you, unless you understand the concepts and have hands on experience. unless you live with oracle server. In fact, It may mislead yourself about your knowledge if you get an OCP from those brain dumps. (You may think yourself high, because you are an OCP. But in actual knowledge you will be very low).
To get an OCP from the brain dumps all you need is good memory power. That my 3 year old can do.
But that's not what being a DBA is.
