OCA Certificate

Hi,
I got following email from Oracle, but I can see only 1zo-051 and 1zo-052  exam results.
Congratulations on earning your Oracle Certification credential!
To provide you with immediate access to your certification credential, you can now download the eCertificate from your account at certView.oracle.com.
My question is: Will I get automatically OCA 11g Certified Associate Certificate or I have to apply?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Kind regards

But to receive it in home, the printed certificate, you have to aplly for it on Pearson VUE, isn't it Brandye Barrington?

  • What is the best source to learn and advice to get Oracle 12c (OCA) certificate???

    Hi there,
I hope all are running good.
Actually, I'm a new in a Oracle career but I know all concepts of Databases and SQL.
I'm planning to take a Oracle 12c (1Z0-061) (SQL Fundamentals) exam to achieve 12c OCA certificate but I'm bit confused in what source is best to learn it by self and what are tips to pass those all exam to lead me OCA certificate. Please, kindly provide your valuable opinions. Look forward to hearing your replies.
    Thanks

The Oracle Press exam guide for 1Z0-061 is written, though of course there is all sorts of production stuff still to go. The 1Z0-062 guide (a lot longer!) is done except for the last two chapters. So both should be out in the near future. I know this because my buddy Roopesh is writing 1Z0-061, and I'm writing 1Z0-062. Bob Bryla's 1Z0-063 guide is bit later, the exam isn't in beta yet.
As Philippe says, the OCA is not simple this time. Of course I can't reveal the exam content, but I think I can say that Oracle Uni is raising the standard with 12c .

  • OCA Certificates query

I have completed 1Z0-051 and 1Z0-144 from Pearson VUE.
Do i need to register in oracle website somewhere to get my certificate?
Will i get certificate for individual exams(2) + OCA (1) so total 3 certificates OR only OCA certificate?

I have registered in Certview link and got below message.
Congratulations! Your information has been verified and you are now authorized to access your Oracle Certification Program Information on CertView.
Do i get any confirmation mail from Oracle for my post for certification?Okay after registeriing on certview thenext step is to access it to see wht it says ....
    - Go back to certview.oracle.com ... sign in ... and select the certification status tab.
    - The exam history subtab show what exams have been recorded aginst you.
    - The certification history shows the certfications you have been awarded
    - And the success kit status shows when your certification success kit (aka printed certificate) was requested from the printers ( it can be up to 8 weeks after that you receive it) along with what to do it things dont seem right.
If you dont see what you are expecting to see then it is time to investigate. ( An example would be a person would found only a 1z0-144 pass ... but their 1z0-051 pass was missing .. this would often be because their 1z0-051 was taken under a different Oracle testing Id .. in which case the solution would be a merge).

    Hi Kishor,
Unfortunately, there are regions where we sometimes have to ship a certificate multiple times in order for it to be delivered. In some areas, kits are delivered within 2 weeks, in others, it could take 6 weeks, in others, it will take several shipments for the kit to arrive. It depends on the local mail systems.
I see that your first SR was answered and I guess the kit was reshipped and you still have not received it. Your 2nd SR was only submitted today - that is why you have not yet received a response. Sometimes the team is able to respond in the same day and sometimes they are not. They will respond within 3 business days. I expect that you will likely receive a response tomorrow.

  • I received my OCA certificate but not the card

Hey few days before i had given my OCA exam.Today i received my OCA certificate but not my OCA card.Afriend of mine told me that he had received an sql card and certificate from oracle after giving sql exam

There is a Oracle Certification Program where this question would probably be more appropriate.
My recollection is that there is no card for most if not all the OCA certifications. I think they do send a wallet card for the OCP certifications and potentially for the OCE certifications. There are a large number of different tracks, though, so it's quite possible that different tracks do things differently (my certifications are in the DBA and PL/SQL Developer tracks which, I'm guessing, is what you're talking about).

  • OCA certificate Clarification

I have completed the following exams for OCA certification.
    1. 1z0-047
    2.1z0-147
which i believe marks the completion of OCA certification. Also i have submitted the course submission form on oracle site. Could anyone please tell me, if i would be receiving only one certfication (OCA) clubbing both the exams together? The current exam history shows these 2 exams separately. Is there anything that i should do from my end to intimate oracle to send just one certificate as OCA??
    Thanks in advance.

  • About getting OCA certificate

    Dear all,
After when through the forum , i have some query about getting the OCA.
Here is my situation, my job function is more related on Oracle 9i (some DBA jobs, select SQL statements) jobs. Although i'm very new in Oracle, but i'm very interested to master the oracle skill. So i would decided to take OCA.
    Question :
    1. Which one is more suitable for me : Oracle9i Database Administrator or Oracle Certification Program?
From the flow to getting OCA , it is only pass min 2 exam that will do ? ex : 1z0-047 & 1z0-031?
    2. It is recommend to attend the course or self study will do?
    3. If i want to attend the course ,what is the fees ?
Appreciate to hear the comment from your all :)
    Thanks.

From the flow to getting OCA , it is only pass min 2 exam that will do ? ex : 1z0-047 & 1z0-031? Only you can answer that. If you are doing DBA work then the Database Admin OCA is a more appropriate target. If you are doing PL/SQL already then the programmer may be a good target.
The good news is for either direction you have to take one of the following examinations: 1z0-007 , 1z0-047 or 1z0-051. (1z0-001 is retired).
Of these my personal belief is 1z0-047 may be harder to study for (you cannot take online and training material may be harder to come by).
    2. It is recommend to attend the course or self study will do?I expect Oracle will recommend you receive training from an authorized trainer. However most budgets have limitations. Instructor lead training is useful at some point, in fact often useful at any point, but you may need to choose the expensive instructor-led course(s) with care so they are most useful to you.
    3. If i want to attend the course ,what is the fees ?
If you start from the Oracle Certication Program - View all certifications Page you can drill down the links from your chosen certification and drill down to the exams, course schedule and fees.
If you select your country oracle will display the fees.
Appreciate to hear the comment from your all :)
Thanks. Also worth checking out the 2-day dba training and there is an associated exam (doesn't lead to a certification though).

Training study and practice are more important than certification in my opinion.

    Hello guys!
Please note that I am new to this forum and I would kindly ask you to please indicate which is the best place to find and buy or "rent" if possible the exam questions from the Oracle OCA certification.
I want to take the MySql certification in a few weeks and then the DBA. To be more precise, exams 1z0-051 and 1z0-052.
I recently heard about [brain dump provide name removed by moderator], but they seem a bit expensive. Nevertheless, please tell me which ones do you recommend for a success and not a fail.
Thank you for your time and help!
I am really looking forward in hearing back from you!

Using exam questions is *not* the way to study for certification exams.  Using them does not allow you to learn the information that is being tested or prepare you to do the job the certification is about. The only good use of practice tests is if you want to check to see how ready you are to take the real exam after having studied other material.  You can find links to materials for those two exams at the following URLs:
Oracle Certification Prep: Exam details and preparation resources for 1Z0-051
Oracle Certification Prep: Exam details and preparation resources for 1Z0-052

Testking is a brain dump provider.  Their material is prohibited by Oracle and if you are found to have used their material your certification can be revoked.  There are very few legitimate providers.  The only ones Oracle recommends are Transcender and SelfTestSoftware (both owned by Kaplan).  Ucertify.com also has legitimate material, but gets mixed reviews on quality.  I talk about Transcender and STS in the article below:

  • Difference b/w OCA certifciate and verisign certificate

What is the difference b/w OCA certifciate and verisign certificate
Do we need to buy the OCA certificate as well as I understand that we need to buy verisign certificate?
    Thanks

A certificate is not a single entity. It helps if you know how to administer certificates using the openssl commandline tool. A certificate is a signed public key.
This is how it works in using the oracle tools:
First, a wallet is created using the wallet manager (owm) or orapki. A wallet at that point consists of some trusted CA (Certificate Authority) certificates, and probably already the (non visible) private key.
Next, a CSR (Certificate Signing Request) is made using the wallet manager or orapki. This is a non-signed version of the certificate.
This is where the OCA comes into play. The OCA is the oracle version of a Certificate Authority. Using the CA, you can sign your certificate yourself. The signer certificate (the certificate of the OCA) is not officially listed as trusted certificate.
If you send your CSR to verisign, verisign signs it for you. The advantage verisign has, is it's certificate (the signer certificate) is officially listed as trusted certificate. That's the reason people use verisign for their certificates.
