OCA Java 7. Second Chance?

I've subscribed to an OCA Java Programmer 7 on Pearson Vue, and i'd like to know if there is a possibility to modify my subscription in order to have a second chance if i fail in the Exam to retake the Exam.

I saw in Oracle site that is is mandatory to get OCA(Associate) Java Programmer before the OCP(Professionnal) Java Prgrammer. but one of my friends is going to pass the OCP Java Prgrammer exam directly without going through the OCA.
Please i want to know if there is a possibility to get the OCP directly, for example for SE6 or SE7.

You friend can certainly take the exam *1Z0-804 Java SE 7 Programmer II* without having first taken *1Z0-803 Java SE 7 Programmer I*
He will find at that point that Oracle won't give him a certification until he goes back and passes the 1Z0-803 exam. There is a difference between passing an exam and becoming certified. To pass an exam, you schedule it at Pearson-VUE and answer enough questions correctly. Pearson will be happy to allow you to take any exam that you are willing to pay for.
To gain a certification, you have to complete all of the guidelines laid out on the Oracle Education website.

Study guide for OCA Java SE 7 Programmer I, exam 1Z1-803

The exam I want to study for is a beta exam. I'm not sure if I should study for this beta exam or the old SE 6 exam. Thoughts?

I'm agree for the suppose that Oracle left the exam topics very vague !!!!!
If you want to prepare you must study on book based on java basics and you can prepare online Java 7 Api .
It's easy learn Java 7 i tried in 2 month and now is ok eheheh :)
A guide is not the same as a good book you can find online so much tutorials but you will learn more with a good book .
For me you can use tutorials only for base guide then you can learn more with a book

Second chance: Opt for another different Rmbp configuration 8gb to 16gb

Hi guys, just joined in the communities. A week ago, I got my rmbp which has the base model. Corei7 2.4GHz, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD storage. So I've been thinking if I can send my rmbp back to apple just to have a different configuration. The problem is the 8GB RAM does not seem to be enough for me. I don't know why... Back then, I used Windows laptop which is the MSI GX660 gaming laptop. It has Corei7 1.9GHz, 8GB RAM, 500GB storage(271 for C drive). I didn't have any problem with my previous laptop especially with the RAM. For the RAM, I always open up a browser with 5-9 tabs and itunes, these two with either game or work like MS office, Visual Basic, Dreamweaver, Java. And with that, I've never achieve more than 5GB RAM everytime I checked with my task manager (I even tried to open multiple hardcore games like Skyrim, L.A Noire and Battlefield 3 and thar only reach up to 6GB+ RAM). Same with my RMBP though, I always open up Itunes & Safari with a few tabs, but is always above 90% of the RAM. I used istat menu to monitor all the heat sensor, HDD, CPU&GPU, Connection speed. I don't know what triggers that could eat such large amount of RAM. Not to mention, I haven't even open up my Windows parallels. Even though with just a few 100+ MB left of RAM, I still can run MS office smoothly but not DW, VB or JAVA. I can even hardly explore through my external drive as it takes so long to open up the folder inside it. Ohh and the last time I tried opening up both Ubuntu & Windows VM, it got freezed. And I had to hold down the power button to shut down both VM(s)
So long story short, can I send back my 1 week old Rmbp to apple for a different configuration?
If not, at least give out some info on how to not bottleneck the Rmbp 8GB RAM?
Any information would be appreciated. And sorry if there's any complicated grammar.

One thing first, did you you configure TimeMachine to do backups? If so did you connect TM to an external disk (as should)?
In your described setup I certainly would go for 16GB of RAM. It is easily installed, but within 14 days you can bring back the rmbp and pick another choice.

I am student doing postgraduate studies in IT.i have some queries related to one of my programming staff.i am very much new into Java programming and i am finding it a bit difficult to handle this program.The synopsis of the program is given below -
You are required to design and code an object-oriented java program to process bookings for a theatre perfomance.
Your program will read from a data file containing specifications of the performance,including the names of the theatre, the play and its author and the layout of the theatre consisting of the number of seats in each row.
It will then run a menu driven operation to accept theatre bookings or display the current
status of seating in the theatre.
The name of the file containing the details of the performance and the theatre should be
provided at the command line, eg by running the program with the command:
java Booking Theatre.txt
where Theare.txt represents an example of the data file.
A possible data file is:

The data provided is as follows

Before this booking can take place, some testing is required. Firstly, the row
letter must be a valid row. Then the seat number must be within the seats in the
row and such that the 4 seats would not go beyond the end of the row. The
program must then check that none of the required seats is already reserved.
If the seats are invalid or already reserved, no reservation should be made and the
booking menu should be repeated to give the customer a further chance to book
seats.
If the reservation is successful, return to the main menu.
2. The user can also simply enter a row letter, eg B.IN this case, the program should
first check that the letter is a valid row and then offer the user in turn each
adjacent block of the required size in the specified row and for each ask whether
the customer wants to take them. Using the partly booked theatre layout above, if
the customer wanted 2 seats from row B, the customer should be offered first:
Seats B5 to B6
then if the customer does not want them:
Seats B10 to B11
and finally
Seats B11 to B12
If the customer selects a block of seats, then return to the main menu. If none are
selected, or there is no block of the required size available in the row, then report
that no further blocks of the required size are available in the row and repeat the
booking menu.
3. If the user enters a ? the program should offer the customer every block of seats
of the required size in the whole theatre. This process should start from the first
row and proceed back a row at a time. For example, again using the partially
booked theatre shown above, if the user requested 9 seats, the program should
offer in turn:
Seats A1 to A9
Seats C1 to C9
Seats C2 to C10
Seats E3 to E11
Seats E4 to E12
If the customer selects a block of seats, then return to the main menu. If none are
selected, or there is no block of the required size available in the whole theatre,
then report that no further blocks of the required size are available and repeat the
booking menu.
4. If the user enters a # the program should display the current status of the seating
in the theatre, exactly the same as for the T option from the main menu and then
repeat the booking menu.
5. If the user enters a 0 (zero), the program should exit from the booking menu back
to the main menu. If for example the user wanted 9 seats and no block of 9 was
left in the theatre, he would need to make two separate smaller bookings.
The program should perform limited data validation in the booking process. If a single
character other than 0, ? and # is entered, it should be treated as a row letter and then tested
for falling within the range of valid rows, eg A to H in the example above. Any invalid row
letters should be rejected.
If more than one character is entered, the first character should be tested as a valid row letter,
and the numeric part should be tested for falling within the given row. You are NOT
required to test for valid numeric input as this would require the use of Exception handling.
You are provided with a class file:
Pad.java
containing methods that can be used for neat alignment of the seat identifiers in the theatre
plan.
File Processing
The file to be read must be opened within the program and if the named file does not exist, a
FileNotFoundException will be generated. It is desirable that this Exception be caught and
a corrected file name should be asked for.
This is not required for this assignment, as Exception handling has not been covered in this
Unit. It will be acceptable if the method simply throws IOException in its heading.
The only checking that is required is to make sure that the user does supply a file on the
command line, containing details of the performance. This can be tested for by checking the
length of the parameter array args. The array length should be 1. If not, display an error
message telling the user the correct way to run the program and then terminate the program
System.exit(0);
The file should be closed after reading is completed.
Program Requirements
You are expected to create at least three classes in developing a solution to this problem.
There should be an outer driving class, a class to represent the theatre performance and its
bookings and a class to represent a single row within the theatre.
You will also need to use arrays at two levels. You will need an array of Rows in the Theatre
class.
Each Row object will need an array of seats to keep track of which seats have been reserved.
Your outer driving class should be called BookingOffice and should be submitted in a file named BookingOffice.java
Your second, third and any additional classes, should be submitted in separate files, each
class in a .java file named with the same name as the class
I am also very sorry to give such a long description.but i mainly want to know how to approach for this program.
also how to designate each row about it's column while it is being read from the text file, how to store it, how to denote first row as row A(second row as row B and so on) and WHICH CLASS WILL PERFORM WHICH OPERATIONS.
pls do give a rough guideline about designing each class and it's reponsibilty.

These forums are best suited to more specific questions. "How do I approach this homework?" is not something that most people are willing or able to answer in a forum like this.

When a share of common stock of some company is sold, the capital gain (or, sometimes loss) is the difference between the share's selling price and the price originally paid to buy it. This rule is easy to understand for a single share, but if we sell multiple shares of stock bought over a long period of time, then we must identify the shares actually being sold. A standard accounting principle for identifying which shares of a stock were sold in such a case is to use a FIFO protocol (i.e., the shares sold are the ones that have been held the longest). Indeed, this is the default method built into several personal finance software packages. Note, however, that it is also possible to use a LIFO protocol (i.e., the shares sold are the ones that were most recently purchased). As an example, suppose we buy 100 shares at $20 each on day 1, 20 shares at $24 on day 2, 200 shares at $36 on day 3, and then sell 150 shares on day 4 at $30 each. Then applying the FIFO protocol means that of the 150 shares sold, 100 were bought on day 1, 20 were bought on day 2, and 30 were bought on day 3. The capital gain for the LIFO case would therefore be 100(30 - 20) + 20(36 - 30) + 30(30 - 36) or $940. Applying the LIFO protocol, on the other hand, means that of the 150 shares sold, all 150 were bought on day 3. The capital gain (or loss in this case) for the LIFO case would therefore be 150(30 - 36) or -$900.

When the trader receives a notification about a capital loss, he/she should output the string "Oh no, what is my spouse going to think!". The spouse should give his/her spouse three chances for each stock (i.e., output "That's your first chance", "That's your second chance", and then finally "That's enough of that!"). After the third chance, the spouse should stop observing the trading activity. Note that traders can observe at most 2 stocks simultaneously.

Sending Data from R/3 to Java and Java to SAP

Dear All,
I am working on a scenario in which I have to send data from sap system to Non-SAP system (Java System).
Now one way is that I made a RFC in my SAP system and Java can call it using JCO adapter. But In this case I am not able to understand how to go another way,means how to capture data or messages from Java.
Secondly I have searched and found that IDOC can help me lot in this process ,I am new to IDOCS but through R & D , I have made the IDOC and done the following steps:-
1. Segment Creation (WE31)
2. IDOC Types          (WE30)
3. Message Type     (WE81)
4. Linking Message type and IDOC type (WE82)
5. Create Distribution Model (BD64)
Now I am struck on 5th step , I am not able to distribute model when I distribute it I get the following Error

JAVASYS is the logical system I created using SALE and ALL_00_800 is already there in LS.
I am not able to understand that my receiver system is NON SAP system so do I have to create logical system for it , and I have IDES system as sender system with only one client 800, what are all the configuration I have to do on SAP side.
I am also not able to understand where I will write my code to fetch data based on the input provided by NON SAP system as I will have to design IDOC for both Inbound and Outbound processes.

I have tried creating the partner logical system in WE20 and dine the following steps:

2. The tab Post processing : permitted agent is filled with default parameters.
3. Then in the outbound parameter table control I have pressed the add record button and got a new screen in
    which I have made the following entry :-

How to run java source files from other java files??

hello all,
i need to run 3 to 4 .java files (first.java,second.java,third.java) from one file.
i tried the
Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd); but here cmd must be an exe file.
NOTE THAT i need to run the first.java file ,second.java file each time to generate their .class files(ie I NEED TO COMPILE THEM ALL TIMES AND THEN RUN THEM)

One way to do this is to put all your commands into a batch file (this is Windows?) try unix shell otherwise. Anyway here's an example .bat file called cmplrun.bat:

How can I check if java is installed (available) on database?
I have 2 oracle 817 and in dba studio in one is "JServer" in second not -
this means on first I have installed java on second not ?
and how to install java on oracle ? I have jre 1.1.8 on operating system...
do I have to run oracle installer from cd and add "some java component" ?

Hi Mayu,
Short answer (according to my experience) is "no"! But there is
something that I have been meaning to try and haven't gotten
around to yet, so you may want to try it (if you like).
Try loading the OC4J JAR files -- "orion.jar","ejb.jar",
"jndi.jar" and the JAR file containing you EJBs -- into the
Oracle 8.1.7 database (using the "loadjava" tool). Then you can
try calling your EJB (deployed in OC4J) from your java stored
procedure. Note that your java stored procedure needs to work
with the EJB in exactly the same way as a normal stand-alone
java application client does. I know I have explained in detail
how a normal stand-alone java application client works with an
EJB deployed to OC4J in a previous post. I just don't remember
what forum I posted it to. It may have been this forum or it may
have been the forum at the ElephantWalker site:

And since I'm feeling a bit lazy, perhaps you could search for
it. Anyway, briefly what you need do in your java client is:
1. Use the RMIInitialContextFactory class
2. Use the actual JNDI lookup name (the way it appears in your
"ejb-jar.xml" file) when looking up your EJB.

What if Second.java is on a remote machine i.e.
First.java and second.java are on different machines?
Will I have to use RMI?Well, you'd have to do some kind of remote invocation. Depends on what kinds of apps house the classes. There are all kinds of ways - web services, servlets, RMI, (maybe others...)

I have JSP page Report_start.jsp. On this page found 3 selectOneChoice. 1 - Country, 2 - Archive, 3 - Fund.
First falling out list (country) is filled by class FillCountryComboBox, located in file FillCountryComboBox.java.
Second falling out list (archive) is filled by class FillArchiveComboBox, located in file FillArchiveComboBox.java.
Third falling out list (fund) is filled by class FillFundComboBox, located in file FillFundComboBox.java.
Data are found in views qCountry, qArchive, qFund. On event OnChange first selectOneChoice is fixed action "history.go(0)", since filling occurs at renovation of the page Report_start.jsp. Then me and it is necessary to hear, is chose some importance in list. When filling second falling out list it is necessary to take into account choice first, but when filling third falling out list it is necessary to take into account choice second.
The Question - as in class FillArchiveComboBox to hear what importance is chose in list selecOneChoice1 (country)?

$java -cp yourjdbcdriver.jar;yourprogram.jar com.you.program.ClassContainingMainMethodI'm not sure what to use for jar's delimeter semicolon, or colon. Try both.

Help.about "java -jar"

execute "java -cp second.jar;main.jar main.Main", it is ok.
but
execut "java -jar -cp second.jar main.jar", it fails. It report that java can't find one class in second.jar. The second.jar is not any changed.

if you use the -jar arg, then java needs to know which Main-class to run in the jar. You have to state this explicitly in the file 'Manifest.mf' which should be in your jar-file in the folder 'meta-inf'. In that file state the location of the main-class like this:
Main-Class: package1.package2.MyMainClassName
