OCA LOGO

Hi,
I have completed OCA ,Please tell me how to get OCA logo to put on my resume.

Have you got the OCA Certification Kit in the completion of OCA Exam?. If yes, then you can check the link in the papers from the kit for Oracle Education Web site URL, and use the credentials given for you to download the logo.

you should have received a letter from the Oracle Certification Program where the logo usage is stated, otherwise you can go to the Oracle Education site for further information.
On the other hand, logo and title usage may mean different things, there are countries where showing a document or a degree is more important thant the knowledge and experience; there are other countries where it is the other way around. Either way, showing an OCA (logo or reference) in a resume isn´t considered enough to make a difference in a very keen and competitive job market.

  • Done 2 certifications. Should i put both logos in the resume

I have done 2 certifications. One  for SQL (SQL expert 1Z0-047), another PL/SQL OCA (1Z0-147). I confused whether to only the PLSQL OCA logo in the resume or should I put both the logos. Could you please share your suggestion?

Did you check the title of this forum? How is this question related to Oracle database?
Anyways, it's your will and wish to put whichever logo you want to put on the resume. The only thing that you need to take care is to ensure that when you would be asked questions related to that certification, you would be able to answer them.

  • I passed 1z0-007 and 1z0-042 tests

    Hi,
I'm a new Oracle DBA fresh out of graduate school, and I passed all requirements for Oracle 10g OCA a year after graduation. I would like to know if I can use that designation as part of my email signature or other designation before I receive my success kit? Also, I am preparing for the 10g OCP exam, so If anyone can offer any suggestions on the exam and any recommended study material, I would be very appreciative.

First congrats on being OCA and welcome to OTN forums. I don't think that there is any restriction for using the OCA logo provided you have got it from official OCA site. This requires a user name and password to be used to download the authentic logo from Oracle which will come only with your success kit. So technically speaking, if you have passed OCA , you can very well use the logo but ethically speaking, you should wait for the success kit to arrive containing your user name and password to download it.
For the OCP prepparation, the exam contents are here,

Looking at them , you should start your preparation. About the reference material, these two books should be helpful if you don't hav Oracle Univ book.

  • Logo for OCA

    Hi,
I have completed Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate program and would like to get the logo for the same to add to my Resume. Unfortunately the certificate has arrived at my parents place and I cannot read the instructions on the same. I know that I can dowload the logo from some website. Can someone here give me the website URL please?
    Thanks

Can someone here give me the website URL please? You can download it from this link (Please note you need a username/password to get access to the certification logo) ..

  • Where should i put oracle logo in my resume ...

    hie everyone ...
i just received OCA certification ( 10g DBA ) and SQL Certified Expert ... now where should i put those logos in my resume ... someone mentioned that i can put them in HEADER of my resume ...
    any other advice ??
thanks in advance for replying this really dumb question ...

At least you recognize it is a dumb question. That's half the battle. The other half is recognizing that no one really cares about your certifications. Congratulations. You now have the same "certification" that brain dump/cheat sheet users paid for.

  • OCA and OCP Post-nominal letters

    Hi All,
I recently passed OCA and OCP for Java 7.  I was wondering if there is an official industry accepted standard to place these qualifications after your name.
I saw Bert Bates, co-author of the Java 7 study guide, placed:
    Bert Bates OCA OCP.
Is this convention authorised by Oracle or do we have to specify the product and version that the certification was given to.  If the latter is the case, what would be the official post-nominal letters for OCA and OCP for Java 7.
    Thanks.

There is no defined standard that I am aware of for that.  Certainly none shows in Certview or is easily locatable in the FAQ.
There are standards for displaying the logos -- mainly about the size and color:

  • How long does it take for the certificate arrive? I am OCA? I need it urgen

    Hello Experts,
I have recently finished OCA. How long does it take for the certificate to arrive?
    I need it urgently.
Can I pay and expedite the process of Mailing thru fedex.
    Thanks,
    Vishal

    From the Oracle Certification FAQ
"The testing center will send your exam results to the Oracle Certification Program. All results are processed once a week. Once all the certification requirements within the track you are pursuing have been complete, including completion and approval of the Course Submission Form, you should receive your certification success kit within 6-8 weeks. The Success Kit will include a personalized certificate as well as instructions on how to obtain your Oracle Certification logo."
So if you just recently passed the exam, expect that you'll get your physical certificate in 6-8 weeks. It should show up in CertView relatively quickly, but fulfillment takes time.

  • Regarding the logo and guidance required to get in to IT field

    Hi Team,
I have just completed my OCA(9i) Developer Track
Please guide me from where I can download the logo to add it on my cv.
Now I want to do a DBA Track 10g i.e. 1z0-042 and 1z0-043 is it necessary to join instructor base training institute to get the certificate??(after clearing the exam) or one can do only one subject training and submit the oracle form?
and do self study for second paper (43) is it possible?? or I have to do both instructor base training
what is scope for 9i developer OCA in the market as I am fresher in database (I have experience from other field i.e KPO) will it help me if I show the certification in CV do they give me chance to enter in Technology and I cant show fake experience
How I should get more and more chances in the field of Database to ensure my knowledge
Please suggest me the procedure to prove my skill in the field of IT

I have just completed my OCA(9i) Developer TrackTo be very strictly correct this is not actually true; as I am fairly you have not recieved evidence via your certiication success kit or via Certview in which case either of these would give you details of where to get the logo.
I believe you have exam passes for the relevant exams, but that is not quite the same thing as the certification.

If you take either course from oracle university you only need to attend one hands on class ... you will not receive 10g DBA OCP without it. (10g DBA OCA does not need it).
    If you are taking the course via a WDP instiute, which is more econmical but risks lesser quality, this is less clear to me whether the complete course has to be attended {thread:id=1065168}

Experience may often be more important than certification. I would image the market for DBA's with certifications and little experience is saturated in many parts of the world.
Previous experience in a related business area can help. As you KPO and bigdelboy dunno you should hve a better answer than I; i merely try to mainly do cerification process logistics and strange humour.

  • Oracle Logo

    Hi,
I have earned Oracle OCA credential. Will Oracle allow me to use its logo in my business card?
    THanks,

Yes, with some restrictions. Your OCA certification kit will provide this information. More information might be found at the members site.

  • Oracle logo doubt

    hi.........
In oracle the OCA certification path was given like this..
    *1z0-007------>1z0-042------->OCA*
now i completed that *1z0-042 only*.......
    So,
Can I use Oracle 10g Certified Associate Logo in my resume??????

    Arunraj wrote:
    Hi,
Now i can't put any logo in my resume ?Justin is right.
Anyone who misrepresents themselves as certified when they are not would be guiltly of misconduct under their candidate agreement (Ref: [http://www.oracle.com/global/us/education/downloads/certification/certagreement.pdf] section 3.2 accessed at time of this post form uk). From my memory (possiby imperfect) the remedy for this misconduct could include nullification of exam results, contacting of employer and barring from furture exams from a period.
You can ony be certain ou are certified when:
    - The success kit arrives
    OR
    - Certview shows you hve the certifcation (and you are therefore able to publish it to thrid parties.
One of the reasons this is necessary is a number of people has incorrectly understood/misinterpreted the pre-requisites for certification and passed themselves off as certified when they are not. This has particularly applied to some people using braindumps.
To achieve a 10g OCA people will have to have passed 1z0-042 and either have also passed an SQL exam (1z0-001/007/047/051) or have an SQL exam exemption (1z0-942) by virtue of having taking 1z0-042 prior to about december 2008. These exam passes/exam exemptions will need to show in certview for you to get your certification. Some people has taken exams under different Oracle Testing Id's, again they are not certified until this is sorted and risk decertification if they represent themselves as certified before this is done.

  • A few Questions about OCA DBA

Hello everyone, I currently passed the second test required for my OCA-DBA certification, 1Z0-052-ENU, sadly my 3 attempts on singing onto http://certview.oracle.com were invalid " and not sure why because all my Info was properly given ", My 4 questions, *#1* : is my Certification Kit gonna be delayed because I cant log into certview ? *#2*: why does perasonvue.com show my oracle tests as "taken" and not passed ? all of my other certifications show passed in the Status tab. just thought it was a little weird. *#3*: To Download My logo I have to wait for the kit correct ? *#4*: was I suppose to do something else but going into certview after passing my test or are all of the steps I tried to take properly in place?
Anyways I appreciate any replies concerned to this issue I currently have, and I wish everyone a wonderful day

This is quite normal. Automatic authentication by certview only happens if everything is perfect and the weather is fine. Otherwise Certview send goes off for a manual check.
My 4 questions, *#1* : is my Certification Kit gonna be delayed because I cant log into certview ?Your authentication should be sorted in 3 working days or so. It won't affect the delivery time of your certification kit ( 6 to 8 weeks or sometimes a little more) (Unless things work in more mysterious ways than I can imagine!)
*#2*: why does perasonvue.com show my oracle tests as "taken" and not passed ? all of my other certifications show passed in the Status tab. just thought it was a little weird.I assume here you are talking about the PearsonVue website.
I think 'taken' is fine, it may eventually go to passed. I recall this being brought up some time ago. I am too busy to check this out.
Pearson vue from an oracle viewpoint doesnt deal in the 'certification ' entities. It only deals with 'exams'.
*#3*: To Download My logo I have to wait for the kit correct ?From once you are authenticated on Certview, and the Certifcation database has received your passed, and the Certification rules process has deemed you to be certified and entered your certification ino the certifcation database and certview then you can download the logo from certview.
*#4*: was I suppose to do something else but going into certview after passing my test or are all of the steps I tried to take properly in place?certview registration is optional but ever so strongly recommended. It enables you to confirm quicky the certifcation is awarded.

Bring back the logo or something else to allow quick identification of browser. Chrome doesn't have its logo in the browser either so now it going be harder to tell between the two. Is this a contest to see which can be more self effacing?
