  • The page cannot be found 404 Error. Any 1 know how to fix this error?

I try to open this site.It does try to open but when the page is almost done. it kicks up . The page cannot be found 404 Error
== URL of affected sites ==
    http://http://profile.myspace.com/Modules/Applications/Pages/Canvas.aspx?appId=104283&friendId=469022772&appParams=null

Look closely at the URL you posted. The protocol designator (http://) is repeated TWICE.
Change http://http:// to http:// and it will work fine.

  • Weblogic 10.3.2: Under load, system gives 404 error when accessing page

    Hi all,
I am running Weblogic 10.3.2 with a J2EE EAR deployed against it. I am using JDBC data sources to connect to an Oracle 11g database. I am running on Linux Red Hat 5. The machine has 16 GB RAM and 16 cores of an Intel Xeon processor.
I have recorded some Grinder scripts to simulate the HTTP requests going back and forth from the web browser to the app server in an attempt to play them back in volume to do some load testing. I am finding that even under relatively moderate load, after some time (say 30-60 minutes) when trying to access the application in my web browser (and in Grinder), I am getting 404 errors.
The strange thing is that the app server is still running fine and there are no errors thrown in any Weblogic log file. There is nothing wrong in the verbosegc log file and the CPU usage via "sar" is very low. The number of JDBC connections is well below the threshold for concern. Sometimes, if I wait a while (hours or more), it sometimes comes back up and works fine again, until the next worjload hits it. I have studied thread dumps and see nothing unusual.
I've been very puzzled with this for days. Does anyone else know what might be wrong or something else I could check to get more information?

Hi, I have the same kind of problem. but when it happens I noticed strange line in the access.log like these ones :
    access.log00003:192.168.104.198 - - [20/Apr/2012:12:16:45 +0200] "ancelActionID=CCACustomerProfile&contactreasonwrapuplaunchable=true&contactCode=&contactType=&contactInformation=&Customer.CustomerNumber=5146990&processheadertitle=&PageState.CaseNumber=&PageState.CaseReference=&caseId=42ceed6436cbd7c70136cf3ea82c3b4a&" 404 0
    access.log00004:192.168.104.122 - - [20/Apr/2012:14:02:16 +0200] "s-xpsdocument, application/x-ms-xbap, application/x-ms-application, application/vnd.ms-excel, application/vnd.ms-powerpoint, application/msword, */*" 404 0
    access.log00004:192.168.105.122 - - [20/Apr/2012:14:02:18 +0200] "-ms-xbap, application/x-ms-application, application/vnd.ms-excel, application/vnd.ms-powerpoint, application/msword, */*" 404 0
    access.log00004:192.168.104.122 - - [20/Apr/2012:14:02:20 +0200] "application/x-ms-application, application/vnd.ms-excel, application/vnd.ms-powerpoint, application/msword, */*" 404 1214
As you can see, instead of containiing the HTTP action (GET/POST /someurl HTTP/1.1) it contains part of the url or even part of the Accept http header...
When your 404 happened did you have those strange entries in your access.log ? Did you succeed in resolving it ?

  • Google search, youtube, facebook, and yahoo all giving 404 errors 9-9-13

Today I was having issues with my internet. After calling my provider (Time Warner Cable) and doing the proper troubleshooting it has boiled down to it is a problem with Firefox.
Whenever I load Firefox, I have it set so the same tabs open each time. Google, Facebook, Youtube, and Yahoo. Normally they would load and I would start my business or what-have-you, but today all are giving 404 errors. I have refresh the page it does not resolve the issue or if I manually type in the page address in, it too, does not load. Facebook will load properly once I type in the website in the bar and load it that way. If I open a new tab and try these websites (Google, Youtube, Yahoo, and Facebook) they all give me the 404 error, but if I click on the Facebook logo in the left hand corner of the page, it will load my news feed. CNN, TWC, and Gmail all load fine and I am able to use the services. Another thing I tried was disconnecting manually from my internet and then reconnecting. I changed my SSI and reset the modem several times still to no avail. If I load Google using my phone, it comes up fine, same as all the other sites listed. I restarted my computer twice (each after both resets of my modem) and I still have this problem. Now the "funny" thing now is that if I load these pages in Internet Explorer, they all load without any 404 errors. I have not tried clearing my cache or history today, and I checked the Firefox website to make sure I have the current version (I normally ALWAYS update my Firefox when it is requested). I don't want to have to uninstall Firefox I JUST got all my bookmarks back from the last uninstall I had to do (accidentally loaded an unwanted toolbar, yuck!) and also this was working fine yesterday and early this morning (2-3am central time)
ANY information regarding this issue will be welcome! Thanks!

The 404 or Not Found error message is a HTTP standard response code indicating that the client was able to communicate with the server, but the server could not find what was requested. How To Fix the 404 Not Found Error
Retry the web page by pressing F5, clicking the refresh/reload button, or trying the URL from the address bar again.
The 404 Not Found error might appear for several reasons even though no real issue exists, so sometimes a simple refresh will often load the page you were looking for.
Check for errors in the URL. Often times the 404 Not Found error appears because the URL was typed wrong or the link that was clicked on points to the wrong URL.
Move up one directory level at a time in the URL until you find something.
For example, if www.web.com/a/b/c.htm gave you the 404 Not Found error, move up to www.web.com/a/b/. If you get nothing here (or an error), move up to www.web.com/a/. This should lead you toward what you're looking for or at least confirm that it's no longer available.
Tip: If you have moved all the way up to the website's homepage, try to run a search for the information you're looking for. If the site doesn't have a search function, try navigating to the page you want using category links to dig deeper into the site.
Search for the page at a popular search engine. It's possible that you simply have the entirely wrong URL in which case a quick Google or Bing search should get you where you want to go.
If you do find the page you were after, update your bookmark or favorite to avoid the HTTP 404 error in the future.
Clear your browser's cache if you have any indication that the 404 Not Found message might just be yours. For example, if you can reach the URL from your phone but not from your tablet, clearing the cache on your tablet's browser might help.
You might also consider clearing your browser's cookies, or at least the one(s) involved with the website in question, if clearing the cache didn't work.
Change the DNS servers used by your computer but usually only if an entire website is giving you a 404 error, especially if the website is available to those on other networks (e.g. your mobile phone network or a friend in another city).
404's on an entire website isn't particularly common unless your ISP or government filters/censors websites. No matter the reason, if it does happen, giving another set of DNS servers a try is a good step to take. See my Public DNS Servers List for some alternatives.
Finally, if all else fails, contact the website directly. If they've removed the page you're after then the 404 error is completely legitimate and they should be able to tell you that. If they've moved the page, and are generating 404's instead of redirecting visitors to the new page, they might be very happy to hear from you.
A WHOIS search, using the site's domain name (e.g. weather.com) as your search term, should give you some contact information.
If the WHOIS search isn't helpful, know that many sites can be reached via email at [email protected], replacing website.com with the real website name. Contacting a site via one of their social networking profiles is another good idea.

  • Sub-par Safari (Pages won't load, 404 errors, and paritally loaded pages)

    Hey,
I just upgraded to OS X 10.4.5 (from 10.2.8) and it's a wonderful change of pace! I can't believe I waited this long! I have only one complaint...Safari is TERRIBLE. I have found that when it browses it only partially loads pages, never loads images, all adds "cannot be found - 404 error code (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), and then sometimes the desired pages have different apperances, or won't load at all (again a 404 error code). On a few occasions it has even opened the same page repetedly! I go to apple.com, and it loads. Then I go to zdnet.com, and it loads apple.com (though it displays Zdnet on the title bar and the web address!)
Can anyone help me out here. I'd love to us the RSS feeds...but with all these bugs I can't even get through a session of use without becoming completely frustrated.
    Thanks!
    iMac G4 (17inch)   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Have you tried using masking Safari as another browser to see if the pages the machine is visiting have been instructed not to show content if the browser is not one expected?
If you go to the Debug menu and select user agent, you can disguise Safari as another borwser. Also, from the Debug menu, you can use the Open page with menu to select the alternative browser you would like to use to open the pages.
Alternatively, you might contact the owners of the site(s). Also, you might go to the Safari menu and Report Bugs to Apple.

  • SM2012 - Portal gives 404 error when opening KB article

In my System Center 2012 Service Manager demo environment, the portal bombs out the 404 error below whenever a user tries to open a Knowledge Base article.  This happens with normal end users and administrators, and when done from the Help Articles

Does anyone have any ideas for troubleshooting this?

    But
    http://myserver.xyz.corp:81/ServiceHost/Services/DataAccessService.svc

this is the actual url which is failing:

    a call to
    https://myserver.xyz.corp/ContentHost/ClientBin/KnowledgeArticleViewer.aspx?ArticleId=
responses with “unrecognized guid format”. so the webservice KnowledgeArticleViewer seems to be reachable. the GUID also is fine (checked with a runbook and this is the proper scobjectid)
seems to be independend of permissions, even members of the administators role have the same issue
    any ideas?

  • /weblog/ is fine; /weblog gives 404 error

We've customized our VM and CSS files so that our blog's appearance is very much our own. We're ready to publicize now, but have a concern:
    http://<servername>/weblog
    Gives a 404 error, while
    http://<servername>/weblog/
    is fine.
We're worried that when people link to us, they'll omit the trailing forward slash, and wind up with a broken link.
Is there any way to change the Blojsom default URL?

Make sure you have mod_dir enabled in your server:
    http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/mod/mod_dir.html

  • .html gives 404 error but htm works

I published my site to a folder on my hd, I uploaded as usual and went to view the site threw my browsers and I was getting a 404 page not found. So I changed the index ext from .html to .htm and the site now works... Anyone know why? I never had this problem before.

Sounds like a problem with your server. Ask the people who run it.
If you want more help, provide your url so people can see for themselves what is happening.

  • Switching theme gives WWV_FLOW_DISP_PAGE_PLUGS HTTP 404 error ORA6502

I have a default theme of Blue and had customised one template for the Reports theme and named it 'Customised Theme'. I had created 2 themes Sand and Business. After I switched theme to sand I get an error in the pages that I created the customized template.
    [Mon Feb 27 10:20:22 2006] [error] [client ] [ecid: ] mod_plsql: /pet/f HTTP-404 ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small

    ORA-06512: at "FLOWS_020000.F", line 236
    ORA-06512: at line 10
I changed the template from 'Customised Theme' back to 'Reports region', tried switching it back again. Still the same error. I no longer use the 'Customised Theme', but still it gives me an error in the same page.
It gives this error in both the Sand and Business Theme. I deleted the themes and recreated the themes and still get the same error.
I created a new theme Theme 10, and switched it to this theme. There is no error and it gets displayed correctly.
How can I switch theme to Sand now and what is that error?
    Thanks

Whenever you make any changes affecting the behaviour of the page, the page gives a HTTP 404.
For example, I just changed the authentication to use my customised authentication, then I get the error. If I change it to database, then it works.
But again, after that if I change it back to customized authentication, AND change it to enable security, then it works.
In my local when I removed the Security it worked, but now when I add one more parameter to the URL Redirect for example add P30_EDIT_FLAG with a value of Y, it starts giving an Error.
If you want to simulate this behaviour in HTMLDB, just keep toggling between the SSP and Authentication, then you can get the 404 error. For example, first time if it works, then make any change - for example the SSP or Authentication, then it fails, if it fails, Make one more change (again either SSP or authentication - anything) then it succeeds.

  • 404 errors on laptop

Is anyone able to have a good guess as to why one of my laptops very often gives 404 error messages, but the other one, using the same links or typed URLs doesn't do this...? I thought it was to do with pages or links being broken, so it doesn't make much sense to me why different laptops would be different in that regard.
    Help!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

you should try with google chrome or mozila just to be sure...
    also , open run command
type %temp% and delete all the temporary files... all that are opened in the folder..
also , open IE , press the settings icon there.. then select internet options...
then select settings under browsing history , under the general tab...
then select view files... then press ctrl + a , then delete all thos files... make sure you permanantely delete them so press shift + delete...
    try this..

  • How to solve the 404 error

    Hi,
How to catch or solve the 404 error in application.
Some time we are giving some file name but that file is not avialable at that time it will give 404 error. how to avoid this error.
If 404 error comes i want call some other file. Is it posible.
    Thanks Advance.

Yes, this is because IE 5.5 (?) and higher have this wacky "Show friendly HTTP error messages" setting. You can disable this by going to tools -> internet options -> advanced and unchecking "Show friendly HTTP error messages". However as the default IE setting has "Show friendly HTTP error messages" enabled this isn't a good solution.
I believe that if your error page is less than a certain size (in bytes) then IE defaults to it's own error page when "Show friendly HTTP error messages" are enabled. This size is something like 512 bytes or fewer in length.
So basically try making your error page larger (more than 512 bytes in size) and see if that works.

  • HTTP 404 error in CMC - BusinessObjects Enterprise Applications - CMC

BOE CMS is installed in a windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition and BOE Web Component Adapter .NET is installed in another server Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition load balanced(clustered).  All the links are working fine in CMC and Infoview, except the following
              Application Name
    1       Central Management Console
    2       Crystal Reports Explorer
    3       InfoView
    4       Universe Connections
But all of them works fine in the load balanced server, i.e. the second web server and other than this there are no issues, only the above mentioned applications are not working in the web server 1(web1).  Whenever we click on the above stated Applications(as an Administrator) we get "Web Page Not Found" HTTP 404 error.  But the same works fine in the web server 2. The environment is running on firewall, only the requested ports for the BO applications are opened and all the others are blocked.
When we investigated the IIS log, we found the following

  • No SICF can be addressed, 404 errors

Within our Solution Manager non of the SICF services are accessible any more.
In the browser or in DSWP we all get 404 errors.
I retried to publsih the service in SE80 and this didn't help.
When starting in any service we get the following error:

+You have not entered a handler, and the other services in the URL also do not have a handler. This means the service cannot be accessed by HTTP request.+

In the ICM logfile we get the errors for icman which of course can also not be reached.

    Hi,
Were you able to resolve this error?

  • I updated an iPod touch, an iPad 2, and an iPhone 4 to iOS 6, and all of them now will not connect to WiFi. They all give this wierd 404 error page from Apple and insist that I need to login to the network. Bad job testing the software Apple.

I updated an iPod touch, an iPad 2, and an iPhone 4 to iOS 6, and all of them now will not connect to WiFi. They all give this wierd 404 error page from Apple and insist that I need to login to the network. What's the fix? None of the recommended fixes work in any of these devices. Reset device, reset network, renew lease, etc. None of them work.

    Does the iPod work OK?
Does it charge when connect to the computer?
Does it appear in My Computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Compare with the iPod that does work/connect.
I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353#iPod_touch_late2009
    iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.
