Hi,
I am having a version problem with 9i.
How can i compile OCCI with 9i database installetion?
Which library would i need?
my server is a SOL-Sparc-64 machine
and oracle database server is installed there versiion oracle 9i 32bit.

I am trying to compile my C++ code (using OCCI) on Sun Solaris 5.9 (SPARC64PLUS) environment.
We have compiled and tested it on RHEL 5 Linux.
The Oracle (10g R3) database is on RHEL 5 server while OCCI/C++ application would be running on Sun Solaris 5.9 server.
Since we have no Oracle installation on the Sun Solaris 5.9 server, there are no OCCI related libraries on this server and hence we are not able to compile our C++ code on Sun Solaris 5.9
Can someone help me on how/where to download OCCI libraries (compile time as well as run time) for Solaris 5.9 ? I could find only Windows and RHEL versions of OCCI libraries on the Oracle website.
Also, how stable is OCCI on Solaris 5.9 ?

I have JRE 1.3.1_09 and 1.5.0_10 on my computer and I think I have solved static versioning problem.
My test computer:
- Windows XP sp2
- Internet Explorer 7 (on another computer also IE 6)
- Firefox 2.0.0.1
- JRE 1.3.1_09
- JRE 1.5.0_10
I. Solution for Internet Explorer 6 and Internet Explorer 7
1. Edit registry and add:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Deployment\Policy
DWORD: EnableSecureStaticVersioning = 0 (Hex)
2. Restart browser if started.
3. Start web page with java applet.
II. Solution for Firefox 2.0.0.1:
1. Install 1.3 JRE in the same parent directory as 1.5 JRE.
Because default default installation path for 1.5 JRE is C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_10 you need to modify
1.3 installation path from default C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3.1_09 to C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.3.1_09
After installation check out that "bin" directory is in the following path:
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.3.1_09\bin
2. Install 1.5 JRE in default installation directory: C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_10.
After installation check out that "bin" directory is in the following path:
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.3.1_09\bin
3. Restart browser if started.
4. Start web page with java applet.
Note: HTML page must use <object> tabs for Internet Explorer or <embed> tabs for any other browser (e.g. Firefox). You need to specify correct classid in object and/or embed tag.

Version problem in DMS

When i create a document with bapi_document_create2 it is creating the document with what i have given the inputs

documentpart
documentversion
but version problem is there . Ex: if i give version as 03 but is creating the docuemnt with version from 01 . next if i give 10 as a version it is creating the document with version 02...like that..
Please advice me .. i want to create the document with the version what iam giving.

Labview version problem?

I have made a subVI that controls the rpm % of a wind tunnel vane. This consists in adquiring 2 values of data within 30 seconds and compare both to see the uniformity of the flux. I use a Labview 2011 version. The problem occurs when i use this subvi in a 2012 version. The 30 seconds turn to 1 minute... I want to ask if its possible for this to be a version problem.

I'm concerned that you are reading a file and then reading it again 3 seconds later. This tells me you are looking for when the other process stops writing data. File IO is a terrible way to share data. Use a Notifier or Queue instead. Much more efficient.

Service pack versioning problem

Can anyone help me solve service pack versioning problem please. This
problem may solve some of my other problems.
I am trying to check if my service pack has been installed properly or not.
I issue following command from command prompt:
C:\>java weblogic.Admin t3://localhost:7001 VERSION
I get the following error: "Failed to connect to t3://localhost:7001 due to:
[java.net.ConnectException: No server found at T3://localhost:7001]"
At this time, I have weblogic 5.1 installed with service pack 2 installed.
If I run server seems to be running, and connecting to my
database.Eventually I am planning to upgrade to SP6 and run with jdk1.3.
2nd problem: When I make JAVA_HOME= JDK1.3, wls does not run.

OCCI -getString problem

I'm having trouble executing code using the OCCI libraries. I suspect that it's an issue with the version of OCCI that I'm using but can't seem to resolve the problem myself.
On Windows 7, I'm using the OCCI libraries from the Oracle Express 11.2 32 bit install. I'm compiling in Eclipse Luna (for 32 bit) 1a using the CDT plugin. I'm using the compiler from Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0.
I'm using the oraocci.lib. (If I use the oraocci11d.lib, my code crashes just trying to make a database connection.) My current problem is with the oracle::occi::ResultSet::getString method. If I call it once on my ResultSet, it works fine. The second call causes my program to crash.
Here is my code:

It is my fault. I use Fedore Core 4 and gcc4.0. By default it linking with libstdc++.6.so, but when I linkint direct with libstdc++.5.so it OK.

The problem is like this, When I am calling add1_detail() by enabiling lines 12, 13, 14, the program works fine. But when
I try to call the second procedure by enabiling line 15 to 24 and sisabeling 12, 13, 14, the program is showing exception from line no 8 (ie Environment *env = Environment ::createEnvironment();)

I call the method getColumnListMetaData and the method returns a STL vector with
Metadata objects and it works fine. My problem is when the vector should be deallocated.
When I run the testprogram a get this error message:

Oracle IDS Version problem (IDS is not compatible )

Please address my technical query mentioned below.
We are facing problems while porting/deploying our application on the Oracle 10g application server.
The application server version is 10g R-2 (64bit)(10.1.2.0.2), the IDS version is 10g (9.0.4) and OS is HP-UX 11.23.
Earlier when I tried doing the IDS installation, the pre-installation check failed saying that the OS is not supported, the supported OS version for IDS 10g-9.0.4 was HP-UX 11.00 & 11.11. I then bypassed the pre-installation check using the -sysPreRequisite option of the runInstaller same and the installation succeeded.
The forms even got compiled but when I tried to execute the forms from the browser, it throws the error message number FRM-40011, which says that the form was created by an older version of the form builder.
This was the problem we have been facing since the start even when we have done installtion on other site, and even though we had installed the application server and the IDS afresh, the same problem persists. The only thing I can conclude from the above is that the IDS is not compatible with the current version of the OS/Application server and we need to upgrade to IDS 10g so that it works on HP-UX 11.23, with Oracle Application Server 10g R-2(10.1.2.0.2).
Kindly provide your technical support in the above matter and supply us the correct version of the Oracle 10g IDS.

XMl parser version problem for running struts project in jdeveloper 10.1.3

I am trying to run a struts (v 1.2.9) based project in Jdeveloper 10.1.3.1.0.The struts version in Jdeveloper is 1.1.
when i am trying to run the index.jsp i get an error:

I think the XML parser version is a problem.Jdeveloper has OracleXMLParser v2 and i think the XML Parser apis used in building the project is different.I have placedcustiom xml parser apis and the xerces.jar in the jdevbin/jdev/lib folder and included these jar in the bootclasspath as follows:
AddVMOption -Xbootclasspath/p:../lib/xml-apis.jar
AddVMOption -Xbootclasspath/p:../lib/xerces-2.6.2.jar
But even then the Exception persists.Is the syntax for Xbootclasspath wrong or i need to place these custom api's in some other location of jdev.
I am not being able to figure out the XMl parser problem.
Any help wud be great.
Is it that i cant run the project in jdeveloper.Just to mention the application is deployed in OC4J on the server and runs fine..But its only that i kant run it locally through jdeveloper

SMP 2.3 Agentry update versions problem

Hi,
please I experienced issue when deploying new version of Agentry application to SMP 2.3. On devices we have stable old version. When we deploy new version through SCC on SMP and then we try to transmit device , it freezes on "Sending client info" . But in SCC it is running normally (e.g. when we reinstall client on device or reset ATE, it downloads new version with no problems).
Our steps are::
Deploy version 1
Make initial sync.
Deploy version 2
Make delta sync.
Expected result: new ersion is downloaded with delta sync correctly (currently we get freeze on “sending client info”).

How can I fix this "Adobe two-version" problem, so only the latest version stays enabled, the old version stays DISABLED, and/or uninstall the old version?

I went to my add-ons tab, and I DO, in fact, have two versions of shockwave flash, an 11.9...version, and a 13.9..., which, if I'm not mistaken, is the latest version. There is a "ask to activate, always activate, never activate" button for EVERY add-on. I clicked never activate on the older version, and closed the tab. I then tried to play a video off of the Web. It would not play, I tried another site with the same result, so I went back to my add-on tab, and the button for the older version had changed back to "always activate" by itself. It continues to repeat this, and WILL NOT stay on "never activate". Every few times I return to the add-ons page, THE NEW VERSION IS DISABLED, AS WELL AS THE OLD ONE. I've tried to uninstall the old version, but when I go through control panel, and bring up the folder contents, the old version isn't even there! I've done start, find, and typed in "Adobe", and the old version is NOT FOUND! Both versions keep changing back and forth on the activate button, and they both will disable on their own, no matter how many times I fix it! smh!!

@jscher2000: Didn't mean to lose contact. I still don't have my playback problem solved, if you can believe that. I've downloaded the uninstaller / installer links with someones help that's on this forum, used them in the exact same order. It did nothing to help. However, I was in the process of attempting your solution. I made sure all browsers were closed; in fact, I went offline before this procedure. When I used find, and typed in Shockwave, it came back..."no search results". I recalled a path I had previously used, and had to use it instead of find, C:/ Acer/ Windows/SysWOW64/ Macromed/ and here there were files for Shockwave AND Flash. I opened Shockwave, says " this folder is empty". Flash Player and Flash Util plugin, Util32 Active X, NPSWF32_13_0_0_214.dll...all files appear correct, BUT why aren't there ANY files in the Shockwave folder? NONE of the buttons you describe in your steps to let Firefox "clean up" the pluginreg.dat file show in my window...if I am in the right window. My username is at the top, and it's drop-down is "3 button"+sign out. One says settings, but it doesn't take me to any "help", Trobleshooting info, "show folder", nor any way to exit Firefox or to start it back up. Settings goes to "edit settings", and has a list of checkboxes...all with something to do with threads in one aspect or another, and one concerning private messages. Sounds to me like I don't know what I'm doing, am on entirely the wrong Mozilla /Firefox page, and I'm NEVER, EVER going to get this damn video playback crap fixed once and for all. Some sites will let a video play, but they are rare. Vikings.com is the one that has me red-faced. NOTHING plays there. Except ads, of course. You can't get those to STOP.

'Convert CMYK Colors to RGB' still runs havoc in 9! (Plus a PDF version problem)

This post is to warn people about severe issues, and how to avoid them. Issues with the CMYK color setting in FM9.x have been reported here earlier, such as:

However, I do not think this issue has been warned about anywhere near as much as it should have. And, as usual, Adobe is silent (they should have a big poster on their site warning about this issue! And they have even claimed that patches have "solved" the issues with CMYK).
Just recently, while experimenting with FM9 again, I had extreme problems, which, at first, seemed totally unrelated to this CMYK setting. But after having struggled extremely hard for many many many hours, I finally found out. Now is the time to inform others:
First a note about versions: FrameMaker 9.0p237, Acrobat Distiller 9.1, XP SP2
It looks perfectly okay on screen in FrameMaker, exactly as in FM8. But when saved as pdf, several things are "corrupted". Examples: no kerning after the letter 'T', such as the word 'Text'. Dotted leader for a right aligned tab disappears. Some objects from the master pages, such as a logo, become enclosed in a rectangle (a border of the frame/object), but it only happens on *some* body pages, whereas other body pages using the same master page are ok!!? Equations are formatted differently from the way they should, with the wrong font for number, etcetera.
Solutions:
1. When 'Save as PDF...', untick 'Convert CMYK Colors to RGB' in PDF Setup. Same setting is in the file's 'Format > Document > PDF Setup...'
A drawback with this method is that, as of Acrobat Distiller v9, it does not seem to respect the pdf version specified in the PDF job Options! I get PDF 1.6 with this method, despite my job option specifies version 1.5. (This happens also with FrameMaker 8 if Acrobat is v9.) So you *have* to optimize it in Acrobat in order to get a web friendly PDF (PDF 1.4 or 1.5).
or
2. Print to 'Adobe PDF'.
In this latter case, you can set the same 'PDF Setup' settings under the button 'Setup...', EXCEPT that there is no tick box for 'Convert CMYK Colors to RGB', and it does not matter what setting you have chosen in the file's 'Format > Document > PDF Setup...', it will be RGB conversion in any case. Make sure that after you exit the setting, the tick box for 'Print to File' is NOT ticked! This method respects the pdf version specified in the PDF job Options! I get PDF 1.5, which is what my job option specifies.
(For some reason, Acrobat/Reader does not render these two PDFs exactly the same, except in extreme magnification! Maybe it has to do with the different PDF versions of the files.)
In either case, the solution actually solves ALL problems I listed! Despite it seems to have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with colors! Some day in the distant future, CMYK might actually work! But, for myself, I would prefer a proper color management instead...

Oops!! Not until now I discover that under 'Solutions' I happened to write 'untick' where it should be 'tick'! I.e, colors SHOULD be converted to RGB in order to circumvent the problems! I.e it runs havoc in v9 when CMYK colors are NOT converted to RGB! Don't know how I came to write the opposite, but probably I started out by describing the situation where the problems are seen rather than describing how to avoid them.
Equally strange is that nobody corrected me, but perhaps the mistake was so obvious? (But whether you see problems or not might depend on what fonts you use. So, under certain special circumstances, CMYK might actually work without these reported problems.)
I am also a bit surprised that others haven't reported the issue that the PDF version set in PDF job Options isn't respected when using 'Save As PDF' and Acrobat 9? (Or maybe someone has, but I have missed it.)

AE CS6 trial to full version problem

I have a problem with my After Effects CS6; at first I downloaded and installed a trial version of it, but after a while I decided to get the full package. So I upgraded my CS5.5 Master Collection to CS6 Production Premium, but After Effects CS6 continues just being the trial version, even after un- and re-installation of the whole thing. And now that trial version has expired. The Production Premium serial number doesn't seem to work on After Effects CS6 alone. Please help me - After Effects along with Photoshop are the main reasons I spend a concideral amount of money on these program suites.
PS: I use the Mac version.

Correct. Suite serials only work with suite installs. If you haven't already, run the full installer. Otherwise try some of the stuff listed here to erase the trial lock and activate your suite properly.
